Chapter 2

~.~

(Eret's POV)

The next morning, I wake up and find my sweetie still asleep in my arms. I sneak a glance at the Eiffel Tower clock that's on the dresser and see it reads about 9:20.

It's Saturday, so Becky and I don't have to be up for a while.

I soon feel her stirring.

"Good morning, my love." I whisper to her.

"Morning."

She suddenly bolts up.

"You alright, darling?"

"You're actually here. In my bedroom."

"Why, yes, I am."

Becky rolls her eyes at this.
"So, my love. What would you like to do today?"

"I don't know. What would you like to do?"

"I have something in mind, but it's a surprise."

"Can I guess?"

"No."

Becky begins to pout.

"Don't give me that, love. You'll like the surprise."

"I can't even have one teeny tiny hint?"

"Not a one."

"Fine. I'm gonna go get ready for the day."

"Alright. Take your time, love."

"Thank you, Eret."

"You're welcome."

Becky goes downstairs, and as soon as I hear the bathroom door close downstairs, I spring into action.

She currently has her rings in a box in her jewelry box.

I quickly remove the ring box and her future engagement ring from the jewelry box and place the other ring that would be her wedding band in the jewelry box.

I go out with the ring box in hand and head downstairs.

"Mr. and Mrs. Nielsen? Could I speak to you for a moment?"

"Of course. What's up?"

"Well, the thing is…I want to ask your daughter to marry me. O-officially, that is. And I'd like to have your permission – a-and your blessing, if that's alright with you."

Becky's parents smile at me.

"We'd be delighted to have you as our son-in-law."

"Thank you so much. So, here's the plan…"

I begin to describe the plan of the proposal to Becky's parents and they're both in.

I go upstairs, grab my phone, and text my parents and sister, so they're in on it as well. My sister, Amalie, will be filming the proposal, since she's the most tech-savvy of the five that will be attending the proposal.

I quickly get out a dress for my girlfriend after making the bed for us.

It's a red dress, and it's knee-length, but it's not too dressy. It's the most Viking-y dress she has.

I put a jacket to go with it, and I put her flats near it, so she'll have shoes to go with the ensemble.

I also quickly write a note to her, telling her to get dressed, and to follow the clues I'll be leaving for her. Becky's mother will be chauffeuring her daughter around on this mini scavenger hunt.

I head out, and after a quick goodbye to Becky's parents, head home to get my parents and sister in position.

~.~

(Becky's POV)

I head upstairs to get dressed and find a note from Eret on my red Viking-y dress.

"Wear this, darling, and, after getting dressed, head downstairs to your mum, and she'll give you the first clue." I think, reading the note in his voice in my head.

I get dressed, put my hair in a braid, and head downstairs. Amalie is with my mom, her phone out and turned sideways.

"Hey, Amalie. What are you doing here?"

"Just visiting my brother's girlfriend. I've been instructed to film this outing."

"Okay…I guess I can't argue with that. Mom? Eret left a note saying you had a clue for me?"

"Yes, I do." Mom hands me the clue and I read it aloud, along with a satin red rose.

"'Go to the place where we first met. The second clue will be there.'"

"And where did you two meet?"

"The closest mall to our house."

"Okay. Let's get going, then."

We head to the mall, and we go to the food court to find my dad, standing there in a suit – his least favorite thing to wear – and he hands me a satin red rose and the next clue.

"'Go to the place where we had our first date. The third and final clue will be there.'"

My parents and I head to where Eret and I had our first date just yesterday, the local coffee shop down the street from our house.

Ruby, Eret's mom, is there, with a satin red rose and the third and final clue.

"'Go to the place where you can get a glimpse at all things plant-like. Go to the place where you can ride a boat and a tram. Go to the place where butterflies roam.'"

"And where might that be, dear?" Ruby asks.

"The local botanical gardens."

"Let's go!"

We all pile into my mom's tiny car and head to the local botanical gardens.

Eret's dad meets us at the entrance to the service center of the botanical gardens.

"I'm here to escort you to a secret location." Eret Sr. says, holding out his arm for me to take. I take it, and Eret Sr. and I walk through one of the garden's forests.

We stop at a bench and sit down.

"Wait right here. Your surprise will be here very soon." Eret Sr. tells me, getting up.

"Okay…"

"And please put this on." Eret Sr. hands me a blindfold. I look at him, skeptical, but I put the blindfold on.

I soon hear the beginning music of Eret's and my song "All That You Are".

But when the singing starts, I feel like the singer is right in front of me, and it's not the singer I'm used to hearing…it's…it's Eret singing.

After the first chorus, someone gently takes the blindfold off of me as Eret continues to sing.

There's a group of nine dancers behind him as he sings.

When the song ends, Eret kneels in front of me.

"Rebekah Nielsen, I love you so so much, and I can't imagine my life without you. You're my new dream. And I hope you'll make me the happiest man alive. Will you marry me?"

Tears start streaming down my cheeks.

"Yes! Yes, I will marry you, Eret!"

People begin to softly clap. I guess Eret told them about my noise sensitivity.

Eret gets up and, after helping me up, he kisses me. It's my first kiss, but, although it's a little awkward at first, I soon start enjoying it.

(Eret's POV)

After Becky and I break our first kiss as an engaged couple, I gently hug her.

It's then I get a call from an unknown number.

"When I find you, I'll make sure you regret leaving my command. No one leaves my command. And I'll make sure not only you pay, but your little fiancé as well." My heart stops.

It's Drago.

I immediately hang up.
