"How is this possible?" That was the question on everyone's mind. Though the kids wouldn't know who this man was, no one being certain if that's a good or bad thing yet, they still had to figure out who did this and why. So far, the only ninja able to reincarnate was Orochimaru, but even his skill wasn't this mastered. The one legendary ninja had looked the same as the day Kakashi last remembered. It was incredible, and Kakashi wanted nothing more than to hug him and catch him up on everything, let him know he forgave him. Thing was, no one knew if they could trust him. If this was a doing of Orochimaru or someone who associated themselves with him, a pupil even, getting close could be the worst decision Kakashi made. To think of getting close to his dad once again, only to eventually have to fight or even worse, frankly Kakashi didn't want to think about that, so he didn't even bother thinking anymore about the situation at hand. Right now, he just wanted to wait for the Hokage to give them orders of what they wanted to do with the ninja.
Frankly, Tsunade looked just as surprised as the rest of them were. White Fang was back, Hatake Sakumo was standing in her office, bound by wood mind you, and so calm. It was easy for anyone to see where Kakashi got his cool exterior from. She seemed to look at the man in front if her with a little conflicted look on her face.
"Well," she started, hoping the words would come to her, "do you remember anything about your reincarnation?" She figured she could ask the obvious question they wanted to know, being who did this. Unfortunately, she got a shake of the head, which lead her to sigh in disappointment. If they knew who did this, it would have been easier to know what to do next.
"No, I don't remember anything before waking up in the middle of the trees. Luckily, I remember enough to get to the main road in hopes to find help." He glanced to his son, though Kakashi was trying to be professional and not let emotions jump in. After all, it was his dad. His first best friend. The man who taught him everything about being a ninja when he was younger. Kakashi hated thinking anything bad of his dad when he was younger. Having once thought he was a fool for going back for his comrades when the focus was the mission, only to eventually learn why it was important to help his teammates. A moment of silence was in the room, Tsunade clearly thinking from the way she looked, her hands partially folded as she looked at the man. No signs of lying, though that didn't mean he was innocent either.
"Until we can get more information about what's going on, you're to have an escort with you at all times. If you so much as do one thing suspicious, you will be tossed in a cell, understood?" Her voice was stern but it was only to make it known she wasn't playing any childish games. She did look to Kakashi, who seemed to be actually paying attention versus having his nose in his book, she could only imagine what this was doing to him mentally.
"Kakashi, I know it will be hard for you, but I want you to watch him. You know him better than anyone else in the village right now. You'd be the best to pinpoint any suspicious behavior. If it becomes too hard for you to be around him, let me know and we'll look for the next best candidate. Captain Yamato will help as well."
"M'lady, what about Naruto's training?" Anko spit out, after looking over the man. Frankly, this didn't look like Orochimaru's work. It was..too clean, but she also knew never to underestimate the man.
"They will continue, if anything, the training continuing with Sakumo around could potentially drag out whether he's a spy or not." She knew the risk of letting the 'outsider' see Naruto training, but she also knew if anything happened, any form of sabotage, it would be their answer to whether or not the man was against them.
Kakashi just sighed softly and nodded, due to having the feeling something like this would happen. Nothing he could do about it. With that all said and done though, the team was dismissed Kakashi leaving with his dad and Yamato, one in the lead while the other stuck close behind until they got out of the building, Kakashi finally being able to breathe in fresh air. He looked at his dad and knew the man was really his dad, there was no trick there, but what intentions he may cause depending on who brought him back was the question no one could answer. That being said though, Yamato stepped up and looked over Kakashi, despite not being the best at reading emotions, he has been around Kakashi long enough to know when he was dealing with some emotions he didn't want to deal with.
"You okay?" he asked lowly, only to get a nod from Kakashi, sure he was bothered by his dad being possibly a spy to ruin the village, but he also knew he couldn't act on it.
"Well, I suppose we could get a bite to eat. Suppose to be our day off, but something tells me Naruto is waiting around a corner for us somewhere." Kakashi finally spoke, the brunette, who was concerned, just nodded, knowing there was no use in trying to get anything out of Kakashi right now. Anko walked out of the building around that time and called out to the three, technically only talking to two, but they were all bundled together.
"Better show your face at poker Kakashi, bring your A-game too, your dad can be a ref for any cheating." She said trying to act as if things were all still pretty regular, even throwing in the offer for his dad to participate. Sakumo seemed to just stare at the ground, likely wondering why he was here himself, having no memory of anything aside from waking up on the ground to birds chirping and a light breeze. He didn't even know where he was until he took a good look around at the time. That being said, he was worried his son was mad at him, still had negative feelings directed from what happened years ago. He would easily agree it wasn't the ideal way to go, committing suicide and having your son find you, it was no doubt completely traumatizing for the kid. Not to mention, they lost his mother shortly after Kakashi was born. There was no telling what really went through the ninjas mind when his father pops up out of no where, alive, and being suspected of spying. Knowing how close they once were. If this was somehow just a really sweet thing someone did, resurrecting the older man to give Kakashi hope again, then he would take it and make the best of it. Although, if he some how has been brought back for bad intentions, he only hoped it was caught before anything bad happened to his son. He knew he's been through more than anyone needed to at his age and didn't want him to deal with having to put his dad down in a grave again, so soon after being reunited.
Eventually, Kakashi started to walk on, same with Yamato, who made sure Sakumo was following. They soon arrived at the barbecue place due to Kakashi choosing, only for Yamato to give a sigh in disapproval.
"I hope you're planning to get something healthy with your pile of grease." He stated as if making a jab at Kakashi's poor eating habits. The two almost seemed to act as if Sakumo wasn't there, it did kind of hurt the old man, but he couldn't say he really blamed them, they were playing it safe, which was the smart thing to do.
"Rice is healthy."
"You have to at least eat one piece from my steamed vegetables. That's all I'm asking." From the looks of it, Sakumo could tell this guy really cared for Kakashi, which was something he was grateful for, someone to look after him and make sure he was okay.
"Say please." Kakashi teasingly purred out to the man, only for the brunette to roll his eyes as if use to the others antics.
"Please, senpai, will you eat a steamed vegetable?" The man practically huffed when he said it, not seeming to be amused by the man's teasing.
If they could only see how they were acting they may actually catch on to why they were teased all the time during poker nights.
"Since you asked so nicely, how can I say no?" Kakashi even held a tiny flirtatious look in those eyes, was it more teasing? Who knew, only Kakashi did, but what he didn't know was that the man beside him never complained about the teasing because he kinda liked that his very own senpai was actually teasing him.
