Early one summer morning, Bloom and I decided to head to the park. Bloom was riding her bike with Kiko in the basket whereas I was skateboarding alongside her. Bloom was wearing her usual, blue pants, yellow and blue top and yellow sandal heels. I was wearing a blue skirt that reached my mid-thighs, and a white, midriff shirt and a black leather jacket. I had black stockings underneath my skirt and was wearing black boots as well. My hair was pulled into a half up half down style so it wouldn't fly out behind me as I rode. "Bloom! Say hello to your mother for me!" A man called out to us as we rode past him.
"Will do Mister Janeiro!" Bloom replied. "See you later!" We rode into the park and Bloom propped her bike up against a tree. I hopped off my board and kicked it into my hand.
"Kiko, why don't you go find some acorns and we'll throw them around with you ok?" I said, squatting down so I could see him easier. Kiko was a blue bunny with a white underbelly and face. Kiko then ran off to try and find those acorns. Bloom and I sat down. I pushed some of my unusual silver hair away from my blue eyes. Just as Bloom took a bite from her apple, Kiko came running back screaming, before almost screeching to a stop in front of us, panting.
"What? Did you see one of those scary squirrels again?" Bloom teased. Kiko started to tug on Bloom's clothes.
"Ok, ok, were coming." I sighed as we stood up. We followed Kiko into the forest and stopped just before a clearing.
"Get back ghoul!" A voice shouted. Bloom and I hid behind some trees. I saw a girl with two blonde pigtails fighting off some tiny red monsters. The girl had a staff in her hands and small wings sprouting from her back. She raised her hand, "Rising Sun-burst!" A yellow light emitted from her hand and destroyed some monsters. A dark shadow growled. Bloom turned to me as I kept my eyes on the fight in front of me. It all seemed so familiar. The wings, the creatures...why?
"We can't both be seeing things, can we?" Bloom asked.
"Solar Wind Blast!" The blonde exclaimed while slamming the but of her staff to the ground and another burst of light came from it. The monsters flew back and one landed in the grasp of something big. It clutched it's hand and the monster turned into glitter. The large thing stepped out from the shadows and revealed itself to be a large green monster. Something in my mind told me 'Ogre'. How I knew that I have no idea. "News flash Mr Hideous, the power of Solaria is so going to flatten you." A kingdom with three suns flashed in my mind, causing me to frown. The Ogre growled and charged.
"You're the one who's gonna get flattened!" The Ogre stated. He hit the blonde and she flew backwards. I winced when she hit the ground.
"That's definitely gonna leave a mark." I commented.
"Your finished little fairy girl." The Ogre stated as his minions advanced. "Now ghouls, bring me her sceptre!" The smaller monsters grabbed onto blondie.
"I'm warning you, you'll never get away with this!" Blondie declared.
"I think I just did." The Ogre snatched the sceptre away from a ghoul, "Your sceptre's ours!" The Ogre advanced on blondie. "And your history."
"Leave her alone!" I shouted, stepping out from my hiding place.
"Come get us." Bloom added, stepping beside me. "Did we just say that?" The Ogre turned to us.
"You sure did." He said. He reached out and snatched us by the arms, holding us high. "You two should learn to mind your own business."
"Let go!" Bloom and I shouted. I felt something course through me and exit my chest. The Ogre dropped us. We got up and saw some monsters running towards us. "Get back!" We held up our arms and something shot out of our hands.
"What just happened?" Bloom asked. I stared at my hands. It was so new but...so familiar. I looked over to see a ghoul advance on Kiko. I picked up a branch and tapped it's shoulder.
"Hey, stay away from our friends!" I shouted as I whacked the ghoul with all my strength and it went flying. It hit a tree and exploded into light. The blonde got up and picked up her staff.
"Wow." She exclaimed. "You girls got some major Winx!"
"Winx…" I muttered. Why did that sound so familiar?
"What do you mean?" Bloom continued. Blondie turned away from us and to Ugly.
"Laugh all you want fashion fiasco, you're going down!" Blondie declared as she raised her staff. A bright light emitted from the top and shot towards the Ogre. He flew backwards and landed with a thud. "I suggest you, like, get out of our realm now." Some small monsters advanced on us.
"Be careful!" I warned. Blondie twirled her staff and it was surrounded in light. She made a slashing movement and disintegrated a monster. One jumped up and grabbed onto my skirt while another latched onto Bloom's leg. "Let go of me!" I growled, beating it with my fists. It let go of me, not without taking a strip of fabric from my skirt.
"We'll meet again, Princess Stella." The Ogre promised before he and his minions disappeared in a flash of purple light. Bloom and I stood.
"Eww, I can't say I'm looking forward to that." Blondie, or Stella as the Ogre called her, said, before she promptly collapsed. Her wings and outfit transformed, leaving her in some crazy dress and the top of her staff appeared behind her head like a tiara. Bloom and I ran over to her.
"Are you ok?" I asked. I saw that she was unconscious.
"We better take her home." Bloom added.
"She needs medical attention." Bloom and I slung one of Stella's arms around my shoulders while Bloom did the same with the other. Kiko followed behind us as we slowly made our way home. We laid Stella on the bed in the guest room before running back to the park to grab our bike and skateboard, it was dark before we got home. We ate a quick dinner with our parents before retreating to our room. I climbed into bed and turned away from Bloom. I had grabbed my old book on Fairies that I used to read to Bloom and flipped through it. Some of these things seemed so familiar, I have no idea why. My eyes started to close as I fell asleep.

"Fairies?" A voice questioned as I stirred from my slumber. "Nix hasn't read that book since she was little. Rise and shine princess, a beautiful day awaits. You know that used to be Bloom's favourite book, she pretended she was a fairy, and you would love playing with her, she could do it for hours. So who's that girl downstairs that's fast asleep? In the guest room?" I sat up slowly, blinking wearily.
"So none of that was a dream?" I yawned. "She's still asleep?" I stretched my arms over my head as I turned to Vanessa. "She's an exchange student and didn't have anywhere to stay, sorry about just bringing her in and not asking. But, please, don't wake her up. Ok Vanessa?"
"Ok. Come downstairs for breakfast." She replied before walking out of my room. I quickly changed before I headed downstairs, leaning on the counter just as Bloom bounded into the kitchen. Vanessa was preparing breakfast while Mike sat at the table reading a newspaper. Mike and Vanessa were kind people, they took me in when I was 13 when I appeared in Gardenia with no memories. I was hoping that my birth family was still going to come for me, but after eight years, I was starting to lose hope.
"Hey girls, today's the day we clean out the garage." Mike said.
"Come on Dad we have lots of stuff we have to do!" Bloom whined.
"Yeah." I agreed, crossing my arms. "This stuff is kinda Important."
"What sort of stuff are you two talking about?" Mike asked.
"Do you remember when we were into fairies and witches dad?" Bloom questioned.
"Of course I do. You were both so cute." My cheeks flushed in embarrassment. "Always pretending to know magic."
"Well...The thing is-" I started to say.
"If you two knew magic, you could just wave a wand and the garage would clean itself."
"That's...kinda the thing we wanted to talk to you about." Bloom started. "You know our friend, the one asleep in the guest room."
"Oh just give them a break honey." Vanessa scolded her husband. "They want to spend the day with their friend."
"Ok." Mike conceded. "You two get the groceries and you're free for the rest of the day."
"Thanks guys." I said, giving them a small wave as I led Bloom out of the house, Kiko on our heels. Bloom put Kiko in the basket on her bike before we started to walk away from the house. I rolled along next to Bloom slowly as she walked her bike.
"Hey, Bloom." I froze when I heard that voice, Mitzi. "Isn't it time to send that two-wheeled relic to the junk pile." Bloom and I turned to the black-haired girl. "And why do you have a skateboard? That's not what girls should have."
"There's nothing wrong with my bike or her skateboard, my Dad got them for us." Bloom argued.
"Oh you poor girls. Of course, I don't mean poor as in not rich. Even though that is what you are." I growled at Mitzi. "Hey fellas! Careful with my scooter. It's brand new you know!" Mitzi boasted. I looked over to see two men unloading a purple scooter from the back of a truck.
"Bye Mitzi." I said before Bloom and I rode off. "If we do have powers Bloom, remind me to turn her into a headless chicken." Bloom giggled.

When we got home with the groceries, Bloom and I decided to explain to Mike and Vanessa what was going on. Despite it being absolutely ridiculous, we had to at least tell someone. "So she's been asleep for twenty hours because she's a fairy?" Mike confirmed. "Is that like a goth or something?"
"Mike, we're telling the truth!" I insisted. "She had wings! Actual wings and she was flying! She had a sceptre too!"
"She's amazing!" Bloom agreed.
"You two must have a very high fever." Mike decided. "I think we should call Doctor Silverman."
"Hey." A sleepy voice said. I looked over to see Stella waking up, "Good morning."
"It's evening hon." Vanessa told her. Stella gasped in surprise and sat up. "How do you feel?"
"Uh...I'm fine now thanks to these girls over here!" Stella gestured to myself and Bloom.
"Don't mention it." I said. "Seriously, don't mention it."
"My name is Stella." Mike hummed in thought.
"Hey there Stella." Bloom greeted, "My name's Bloom, and this is Nix." I waved at the blonde.
"Let's call your parents now shall we." Vanessa said.
"I'm afraid that's, like, so way easier said than done." Stella stated, "I mean let's face it, they live, like, six whole realms away. In a kingdom called Solaria. I was on my way to the Alfea school, you know to continue my magic training-"
"Oh boy, oh boy!" Mike cut in/ "I'm calling Doctor Silverman." Mike walked over to the phone, "We'll see if he can figure out why the three of you are seeing things that aren't there." Mike picked up the phone. Stella looked angry for a second before smirking. She pointed at the phone and receiver and it turned into a carrot and a head of lettuce. Mike gasped.
"You still think we're out of our gourds?" Stella asked.
"Woah! That was so awesome!" Bloom complimented. I hummed in agreement.
"You two are the ones who are majorly awesome!" Stella argued. "When this Ogre attacked me they gave him this energy blast and kicked his booty into another dimension!"
"It's true!" Bloom defended.
"But we have no idea how we did it." I continued.
"It's like I told you, yesterday girls, you're loaded with magic." Stella told us.
"Us?" Bloom questioned. I could practically see the stars around her.
"Hey, I just got, like, a great brainstorm! You should both come to Alfea with me! It's like so far away it's the best magic school in the eight realm area-"
"Hold it!" Mike interrupted, "Bloom and Nix aren't going to another realm!"
"Could I show Stella my room?" I asked, hoping to keep Mike sane for a little longer.
"Sure." Vanessa responded before Mike could say anything. Bloom and I led Stella to my room.
"Hey, cool room Nix." Stella complimented as she entered. My room was painted blue, with a black four-poster bed in the corner with white curtains, my desk was littered with various calligraphy pens and ink, and my cupboard was open to reveal my clothes. "Wow! You should totally bring it to Alfea. A quick packing spell and it would fit in a handbag."
"Stella, I don't think we're going to Alfea." Bloom said sadly.
"Huh?" Stella gasped.
"I don't believe we have powers anymore." I explained. "I know we were able to fight off that Ogre from the park but…"
"Bloom, Nix, trust me. People with magic like you two have don't lose their powers. There just rusty from sitting unused for so long."
"Do you think we're like the girl in that book?" Bloom inquired. Stella then noticed the fairy book by her hand. She picked it up and started flicking through it.
"Hmm, let's see." She flipped a page, "Kinda, but this book was written by humans. You're both so much cooler than this." Stella closed the book, "And more fashionable."
"Wow, I can't believe we actually know magic. And we have what do you call it, Winx?"
"Your magic's always been inside you." Stella said, "It's like my Fairy Godmother used to say, 'Sometimes you just need an Ogre to attack you to find out what you're really made of' Now try this, it's a simple matter merge exercise." Stella waved her hands and the pens on my desk started to shake. They rose and moved together into one giant pink pen. "Ok Boom, you give it a shot. Put them back how they were." Bloom stood and lifted her hands. The pen shook and fell out of the air. "Come on, try it again." Bloom concentrated before sitting back down.
"I don't feel anything." Bloom sighed.
"You just need some practice Bloom." Stella consoled. "Ok, Nix. your turn." I stood and lifted my hand. I concentrated and the pen shook. It then separated into the pens again scattered across the floor. I frowned, how was I able to do that?
"See, that's why you both need to come to Alfea with me." Stella waved her hand and the pencils floated back down to the cup. "Before long, you'll be zapping Ogres left and right."
"So where is it?" Bloom asked.
"It's sort of in a parallel dimension. You go to the inner realm of the enchanted ring and then you-look, why don't you come with me and I'll show you both." A card appeared in Stella's hand. She dropped it on the floor and it enlarged to show a blurred picture. From what I could see of it, the building in the picture had pink walls and a blue roof. "This is an express portal." Stella explained. "Come on." Stella stepped on the portal, "It's cool." Stella started to sink into the photo. "Now follow me!" Once Stella was gone, Bloom and I glanced nervously at each other.
"Together?" I questioned.
"Together." Bloom agreed. Bloom and I stepped onto the portal together and started to sink. "Stella, this feels really weird."
"Don't worry." Stella assured, "Almost nobody gets lost between dimensions." Almost nobody? I thought That's reassuring. Note my mental sarcasm. We finished sinking through the portal and landed on our feet. "Well, there it is, girls, the famous Alfea castle."
"So what goes on here exactly?" I asked.
"The best and most fabulous come from all over the universe come to perfect their powers. Most are princesses like moi. But we also have pixies and gowilians. And get this, we're only one enchanted forest away from the Red Fountain School for Heroics and Bravery! It's full of hunks. But were also down the lagoon from the creepiest place in the entire realm, the Clowdtower School for Witches."
"Wow, this is a really big decision." Bloom admitted.
"To help you make it I invited some of the H and B boys over to your house." When did she have time for that?
"Boys?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow. "At our house? Well, Mike and Vanessa are gonna flip. When are they getting here?"
"Pretty soon." Stella told us, "So let's get going." Stella jumped up and disappeared through the portal. Bloom and I followed her up. We entered our room and stepped off the portal. We then heard a growling from downstairs. We ran down the stairs to the Ogre and his minions back with another large thing. It was blue and smelt repulsive. 'Troll' My brain told me "Turn around, sunshine!" The Ogre turned around and spotted us.
"It's them!" The Ogre shouted.
"I guess someone didn't learn their lesson. Sun Power!" Light surrounded Stella. Blue bracers formed on her wrists. Her hair parted into two pigtails tied with orange ribbon and a blue headband formed on her head. Orange knee high heeled boots formed on her legs. Orange short shorts appeared on her and an orange one-sleeved singlet top appeared on her chest. Her wings grew from her back. They were mostly pale blue while the tips were a darker blue. I stared at her in awe. Stella jumped up and flew over to the Troll. She kicked him in the face and the Troll stumbled.
"Are you just gonna stand there and let that little fairy kick your but!"
"Me mad." The Troll growled.
"Then do something about it tall, blue and gruesome." Bloom and I walked up to stand next to Stella, "Bloom, Nix, I'll handle the two gross-outs, you two take care of the ghouls."
"How?!" I demanded angrily.
"Just do something."
"Ok, we'll try." Bloom said. We ran out of the lounge room and the monsters followed us. Bloom and I ran outside. There was a flash from inside the house. "Uh, nice little poochies."
"They're not dogs Bloom!" I reminded her. The Ogre then crashed through the door and fell on the ghouls, flattening them. "Nice going Stella." Stella then crashed through a window. The Troll walked through the door, moving the frame over so he could fit. Stella, Bloom and I cowered as the Troll advanced on us.
"Hey, Princess Stella!" A voice called out. "I hope one of your friends is the pretty one in the leather jacket!"
"And the one in blue pants!" A second shouted. A whip-like thing wrapped around the Troll's shoulders.
"Yeah, and not the ugly guy at the end of the leash here." Someone else commented. I looked over to see four guys. One of them had orange hair and was holding a gun of some sort. One had purplish hair that looked like he used too much gel and was the one holding the rope that had captured the Troll. One had brown hair and was leaning on a large green sword that was pointing to the ground. The last boy had blonde hair. He held a blue sword in his left hand and a blue shield in the other.
"Ditto that!" The orange-haired boy agreed.
"Alright, I suggest a three-prong rescue OP." Blondie stated.
"Forget that." Purple dismissed, "I got this puppy wrapped up all by myself."
"Dude." The brown-haired boy sighed, "One summer at a swashbuckler camp doesn't mean you can go solo on a Troll." The Troll pulled on the lead he had wrapped around him and the purple-haired boy flew into the air. "I rest my case." The purple-haired guy landed with a thump in front of us. The troll walked over to blondie and the orange-haired boy.
"Stay behind me." The boy with blonde hair commanded. He held up his shield as the troll started to bang on it. "Hey guys, what have we learnt about battling Trolls?" The brown-haired guy got up off his sword.
"Well." The brown-haired guy lifted his sword and brought it down on the ground, creating a large crack underneath the troll's feet. "Smash 'em I think."
"No Sky." The orange-haired boy protested, "You take out their feet." He shot his gun and little yellow bullets that looked like birds flew out of it. They hit the troll and it fell into the crack below him. "Alright!"
"Good one Timmy! Way to go!" The brown-haired boy, Sky, complemented.
"Good thing you aced how to battle forest creatures, Timmy." The blonde-haired boy said.
"Ghoul alert!" The ghouls growled. The purple-haired boy stood up.
"Stay here." He told us. I glared at him, I can take care of myself thank you. "This won't take long." He drew his sword and started to turn the monsters into light. One jumped on the purple-haired guy's back. He threw it off before The Ogre came and punched him.
"Leave him alone!" Bloom commanded,
"Now!" I added. Stella, Bloom and I held up our hands and a blast emitted from them.
"Awesome shot there girls." Stella commented. I quickly dropped my hands.
"It just happened." Bloom admitted.
"Like I said, you've both got Winx." The Ogre got up and growled. The purple-haired guy got up and wiped some dirt off his face.
"Back off shortie." The Ogre ordered.
"You're the one who's gonna back off, Ogre." Stella argued, "Or I'm going to have to put my skinkus removous spell on you and your gonna end up smelling like you just took a bath." That hit a nerve. The Ogre clapped a couple of times before a purple bean came from the sky and took the Ogre and his minions away. "I knew that would scare 'im." Stella walked up to the boys. "Bloom, Nix, these are the Red Fountain guys I was telling you about." Each of the boy's said hello. "Meet Riven." Stella gestured to the purple-haired guy. "Prince Sky." Stella gestured to him,
"Hey." The prince greeted.
"Timmy." Stella gestured to the orange-haired guy. "And Brandon."
"How you doin'." Brandon said, giving a two-fingered salute. The Troll emerged from the hole in the floor. Before he could do anything. Brandon snapped a collar around his neck, "Not so fast tough guy, you better come with us,"
"Yeah, you've done enough damage for one day pal." Sky agreed. The Toll then started to levitate.
"Where are you guys taking him?" Bloom asked.
"We'll bring him back to Red Fountain, probably send him to a creature preserve." A portal opened behind the boys. "See ya!"
"Bloom! I sure hope to see you at Alfea!" Brandon called before he disappeared.

The next morning, Bloom and I packed our suitcases to go to Alfea. Mike and Vanessa said that if they see the School they might let us go, so here's hoping. Bloom and I grabbed our bags and headed downstairs. "We're ready Dad." Bloom said.
"Why do you two have suitcases?" Mike asked.
"We packed them in case you let us attend Alfea." I explained. "We'll be ready."
"I know that you're way more grown-up than we thought you were and that you have special gifts and all, but we still have to check the school out! We have to get more information about Alfea."
"But if it's anything like Stella said it is you'll be in for a wonderful adventure." Vanessa added, "It's so exciting."
"I know Mum, it really is." Bloom agreed.
"Hey Stella, how do we get there?" Mike asked. "Car? Plane? Broomstick? Do they make a broomstick for five?"
"Mike, Witches use broomsticks." I stated.
"Oh yeah, that's right." Mike went and got his jacket, "So, what do you use Stella? Wait, don't tell me, is it, Fairy Dust?"
"Are we gonna use the portal?" Bloom questioned.
"Regular Humans can't go in it." Stella explained, slipping her ring off her finger, "But you know what? My Sceptre can handle a little trans-dimensional puddle jump like this." Stella's Sceptre appeared in her hand. She stepped to the centre of the room, "Sun Power!" A portal opened up and everyone travelled through it. We landed in a forest close to Alfea.
"Wow!" Mike gasped, "Would you look at this place!"
"It's pretty cool, huh?" I questioned.
"With a capital 'C'!" Stella added. Mike, Vanessa, Bloom, Stella and I started to make our way to the pink and blue School, Kiko following behind us.
