Lost Chapter 2: Esdeath's Training
Set between Chapters 9 and 10 of Empire's End

Esdeath stood in the front of the large sparring room to inspect her new troops. "Welcome to the Jaeger corp training ground, ladies, gentleman, Tatsumi; now that recruitment has finished I can begin with your training; some of you have long military careers and while some of you have been civilians your whole life, regardless each of you is a trained fighter and know how to defend or attack depending on the circumstances. That is not enough; this unit is to be Empire's best, especially given that its duty is to confront Night Raid an elite assassination unit who's numbers are uncertain and have an uncanny success record with no losses at any point on their side and with a kill tally to stack a pile of corpses that would stand as tall as the clocktower in Melitine's city square, no for this you'll all have to go extensive training" Esdeath explained.
"What will this training involve?" Tatsumi asked sharply.
"My dear Tatsumi I'm glad you asked; you'll all be subjected to a custom training regiment I myself have designed but first before any training begins we will all be sparring first off you as a group will attack me and then I'll test the skills of each of you individually" Esdeath explained, she then dawned a mask. "Starting with your skills in unarmed combat: all of you will begin on my signal" Esdeath explained, the Jaegers all formed a group huddle to discuss a plan of attack Esdeath smirked behind the mask glad that they at least had the sense to strategize before attacking her.
Esdeath herself analyzed the various members in her opinion the strongest and hardest to deal with would be the Four Rakshasa Demons as they were Empire's most elite warriors whom had undergone the most extensive training possible and were trained to fight in a group and with any weapon possible in addition to having their bodies altered with a special elixir that boosted all their natural body traits completely positively and boosted their strength, speed and endurance to superhuman levels each was capable of throwing punches that could if they put their full strength into it punch clear thru an armored opponent into their chest and thru their body, in addition to this the four Rakshasas were of different builds each with their own advantages and disadvantages. After them her next priority would be Tatsumi the fact that he had managed to defeat her Three Beasts immediately put him in her mind on the level of the Rakshasas in terms of a threat and his stamina, endurance and strength was comparable though he had not the alterations but still fact of the matter was that Tatsumi was still a threat in his own way. Then there was Kurome as a member of the Elite Seven with a group of her own puppets and an extensive career in addition to being the founder of the Empire's Elite Dark Squad which had replaced the Group of Terror training program made her a priority threat. After this she ranked her subordinates Run and Wave comparably as she knew full well their measure, then from then on it was a matter of simple rating with Bols being the next dangerous, she considered Dorothea and Cosmina to be the least dangerous even with their display previously fact of the matter was that Cosmina was a civilian and Dorothea was to Esdeath's knowledge a scientist whom saw fighting as a last resort.
Soon after deliberation Esdeath spoke up. "Alright come at me; I think you've had long enough to plan" Esdeath remarked; the group spread out in a crescent formation and then charged. Esdeath immediately dodged out of the way of Dorothea whom managed to reach her first moving lightning fast, Esdeath then grabbed Dorothea's arm only to have her grab back hard, however that left her open and Esdeath knocked her legs out and she fell onto the mat Esdeath then flung her at a charging Bols; she then had to deal with an attack by Kurome's puppets whom had attempted to surround her; Esdeath preformed a series of tackles and grapples that allowed her to use the Ape man as a weapon against Kurome's other puppets knocking them down and out; then the Four Rakshasa's attacked and this was not easy especially as Tatsumi and Kurome joined in. Esdeath took advantage though of Tatsumi's eagerness in a charge and slung him into Kurome whom she falcon punched out she then had to dodge Sten's brawny body whom came barreling towards her like an elephant which was very difficult to execute.
With that threat level in mind she tapped into the Demon's extract boosting her speed and strength to their his level then after delivering a power kick to Suzuka whom went back a bit flung Sten at the nearby padded wall the force of the impact sent the hard headed Sten thru the wall head first which Esdeath mentally cursed as it meant having to pay a decent sum to get it fixed, but that was only an after thought as she had to match blow for blow a series of power punches from Mez whom was coming at her with the speed of a cheetah and a couple punched got thru and those hurt decently too Mez was not making it easy, however an ambitious and bold Ibara charged and Esdeath had dodge, Ibara by contrast was more of a bold fighter Esdeath then used his charge moment to fling him at an oncoming Run knocking both combatant down and out, Wave charged at her and she kicked him in the shin before delivering a power punch to his jaw knocking him down and out; she then had to fight Tatsumi and Suzuka whom had recovered from their respective charges and Mez too joined in; this was where Esdeath noted again she was finding herself over stretched so she again used Tatsumi's eagerness as a weapon against him grabbing him what resembled a ballroom dance move before spinning him into Suzuka she then engaged in a blow for blow brawl with Mez whom was using a Tsing-Mao gambit which was a series of powerful punches followed up by jabs and kicks, this combo of attacks unbalanced Esdeath and nearly put her on the back foot she then dodged as Suzuka leapt towards her Esdeath used her sharpened hand to seize Suzuka and rapidly throw at a wall this had the desired effect of knocking Suzuka out of the fight but also enraged Mez whom was not remotely happy to see her half-sister badly injured by being flung at a wall so callously; that series of angered strikes from Mez thru off her technique allowing Esdeath to throw her across the room Mez catching herself to avoid hitting a wall. Cosmina whom had been bidding her time the whole fight then attacked Esdeath and did so surprisingly strongly Esdeath was taken aback by Cosmina's physical strength but still her technique was sloppy and she was out of her combat style making it easy for Esdeath to knock her out with a punch to the gut; Tatsumi then reached her seizing both arms and to Esdeath's joy actually head his own against her giving back as hard he took from her he even managed to deliver a blow that broke a chunk off her mask exposing her mouth she then grinned at him and pulled his head face first into her breast then used him as a human shield against Mez whom knocked down to accidently dazing him Esdeath then resumed melee with Mez but try as she might she was tiring and Mez delivered a punch to Esdeath's left Breast that winded her and briefly stunned her Mez then flung Esdeath across the room shattering her mask on impact with a wall and knocking her out.
Mez grinned noted Tatsumi whom recovered from his daze. "Ouch; I feel like I've been hit by a haymaker from Leone" Tatsumi groaned as he got up.
"Here let me help and who is Leone" Mez asked.
"A friend of mine" Tatsumi replied casually and honestly though Leone was more then that but Mez didn't need to know the full details of his relationship. "You beat Esdeath?" Tatsumi asked shocked.
"Yep; and I'm fairly certain it was because he was tiring out if she had a bit more stamina she'd have put me down; now I'm going to tend to my sister see that she doesn't have a concussion from being thrown like a ragdoll at the wall" Mez replied and went over to Suzuka whom she carried back. Esdeath groaned and got back up.
"Ok you win; fairly played Mez; I expected this outcome however this was only due to the group you know what will happen in one on one" Esdeath replied.
"Oh I'm fully aware that I'll kick your ass again" Mez teased.
"You wish" Esdeath replied, then looked at the other Jaegers whom were recovering from being knocked out "Good to see you have all woken from your naps; this test is successful and you've all passed; though a special regards to Mez whom actually managed to beat me; now that its out of the way as soon as we've all had time to recover I'll be evaluating you each individually then I'll introduce you to my training program properly; I will be trying my best to break you during it if you all make it thru then you are ready; after the training is concluded and you are all ready for missions we'll be tackling Melitine's crime problem; Night Raid is our top priority however in order to make sure you all keep your fighting skills sharp and to build our image with the people of the Empire we'll be launching raids against any and all known criminal groups in Melitine starting with the toughest gangs in the slums; the Blackteeth and Crooks they've been at it for years and they've recently gotten out of hand and are now actively ransacking and raping freely in the lower rings of the city; this cannot be allowed to continue the Empire has enough problems what with two external wars and a Civil War along with an economic crisis to let gangs rampage thru the Capital so we'll be cleaning house; expect these missions daily. Also if any of you encounter any Teigu users that are true Imperial patriots invite them to join the group; as it stands this it but a small group and we have the Empire's largest city to cover: also night operations are forbidden for the time being I'm of the opinion the group as it isn't ready to face Night Raid and I'd very much like to gather as much information as possible before any mission I will not tolerate needless deaths; by the way that's your first order no dying that is against regulations" Esdeath explained.
"Yes General Esdeath" everyone said.
"Good I'll be expecting you all to follow those orders training will be completed and until then you are to not to leave headquarter grounds for any reason, I will permit one day for you to inform any relatives and friends you have of this news: after that you'll be staying here to endure my training program I've designed it extensively and remember don't die that's against regulations and orders" Esdeath explained, everyone saluted. "Welcome to the Jaegers" Esdeath welcomed and then dismissed everyone before passing out Tatsumi carried her to her room and put her on her bed and tucked her in giving her a kiss.
"Get some rest my Ice Queen" Tatsumi remarked he then left the room before being tackled and dragged off to his room by a horny Cosmina.
