"Nice night out tonight".
Private jumped almost out of his feathers at the derp tone that cut through the nights silence after walking abit he stopped to sit at one of the Zoo's park benches, gaze landing on the stars. His tense body relaxed when he noticed it was just Maurice.
Thankful that it was the more quiet level headed one instead of Julian.
He liked King Julian just fine but with his mood he wasn't sure he could handle the party loving Lemur at the moment.
"Yeah it is. You can get a good view of the Stars here in the Zoo".
"Mind if I join you?".
"Go right ahead".
The two animals gazed up at the
"How is Mort you know since today?". Private rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
"You know Mort". Maurice smirked slightly "the only thing that upsets him is when he can't cling onto King Julians feet".
Both animals chuckled at the sentiment that was
"I really messed up today Maurice". Private mumbled looking away. "I can't believe I went though all that. I can't believe I turned into that Penguin". Disgust filled Privates tone.
"Private I know its none of my business". The Lemur's tone soft. "But why was this so important to you in the first place?"
"I'm suppose to be the cute one".
The Penguins features were pinched his blue eyes dulling.
" It's never been about being the best. It's never been about being on the cover of a magazine. What would I care?. It's about being valuable to the team. Skipper has always said that being cute was my thing. Kowalski has his brains Rico is the Weapons expert. And Skipper he's a brave leader through and through and has the training to back it up. And me…".
Private closed his eyes his baby blue eyes swimming with tears when he opened them.
"If I can't even do the one thing I am good at what use am I to the team?".
Private felt a hand on his shoulder.
"You thought they'd abandon you". Maurice tone soft.
" Why wouldn't they? They aren't legally my brothers. They were kind enough to adopt me but if I give no value to this team what kind of purpose would I serve? "
"You really think we'd do that?". A new voice sliced through the silent night prompting both animals to jerk their heads up.
Skipper, Kowalski and Rico stood there.
