Chapter 2: The Search

The next morning Anakin woke up and got dressed. He left Ahsoka's quarters and headed out to find Obi-Wan. "Are you looking for me?" said a voice behind him. Anakin turned around to see Obi-Wan standing behind him. "I told you not to. I can tell you didn't listen," he said. Anakin gave him a sheepish smile and shrugged. "Anyway. I'll go. But Ahsoka stays here. I don't want her coming with me. I don't want her to get hurt," said Anakin. After he said that Ahsoka walks up behind him. "Don't think I didn't just hear that." Anakin turned to face her. "Please. I don't want you getting hurt." Ahsoka gave him a look. He knew he wasn't going to win this one. "Fine," he finally said. Ahsoka and Anakin left the Temple and walked into Coruscant. They split up and Ahsoka searched closer to the Temple while Anakin searched the far side. They met back up a few hours later. "Nothing." Anakin shrugged. "We should go and interrogate the witnesses." Ahsoka nodded and they headed back into the Temple. They reported back to the council and then found Obi-Wan to tell him what happened. "Ok. So you didn't find the vampire. What about tonight? You could go and try to find them at night when vampires are most active," said Obi-Wan. "Best to not do that. We should get more evidence before we do that," said Ahsoka. "Ok. I still want to do a quick search tonight. Just in case. Just to gather information," said Anakin. After that, they went back to Ahsoka's quarters. Anakin closed the door behind him and sat next to Ahsoka. "Don't go tonight. I don't want them to hurt you. Just in case they figure out what you're doing. Promise me you won't go," said Ahsoka after he sat down. He looked at her. "Ok. Fine. I promise I won't go."
