Chapter 2
Previously, on Crimson God Slayer.
Unknown Location
A couple of people were gathering food for their people and king until a worker spotted a bright light in the sky until it began to fall.
The workers dispersed as the object fell faster and faster until the object hit the ground with a massive.
THUD!
Dust enters the air from the impact and those who were close to it were nervous until one brave individual that looked unique compared to the others walked up to the object and was surprised to see that it was a face that they were familiar with.
"There's no way. Issei is here as well?!"
Issei was waking up and noticed that he was no longer in that cave. He woke up as he clutched his head and slowly sat up. He looked to see the blue sky and the sun warming his skin. Issei looked around to see that he was in a road where there were some damaged carts and a couple of ruined houses.
Issei looked to see that there wasn't a single soul out here. "Wow. This place looks like it was attacked by an army. What happened here?" He used the building next to him to elevate him off of the ground. After he got up his back cracked and popped as it he was stretching his muscles. "Damn. That felt great. Wait how did I even get here? And what happened after I became one with...Hercules?" He looked to the side and saw that there was a large stone like axe that was as tall as him.
He reached out to it and picked it up. This made his eyes widen as the weapon felt light in his hands. "Woah." He switched his hands and felt the sword in his left hand now. "It still feels light as a feather." He then hefted it on his shoulder and began walking to the path. As he walked down the road he saw that there were parts of the earth missing as if a large beast or something clawed into the earth. Issei saw the blood on the stone buildings and the road but no bodies were anywhere in sight. "Did whatever attack those people driving those carts eat them?" He clenched his fist until he remembered his partner. "Hey Ddraig you awake? Ddraig?"
The gauntlet appeared and the gem glowed dimly until a yawn was heard. {Good Morning partner. It's good to see that your up. I'm not exactly sure what happens but all that I remember is that man who called himself Adam did something to you after you combined with Hercules and became a Campione. When you landed in a small village, there was someone who recognized you there but I couldn't tell who. After she recognized you, she helped you into a cart and a couple of people went with her. That is until someone attacked them. I don't know who but the one who liked those people had a beast of some sorts with them. I didn't see it but I could hear it. The girl who saved you was able to hide you and escape from the battle but the villagers who were with her died. And that was it.}
Issei looked at the blood soaked into the ground and saw a little doll that had some on it. Issei picked it up and smelled the scent of flowers and a small girl on the toy. "Whoever had this doll was a father. A father of a little girl who smells like wildflowers. Damn it. This kid just lost her old man." He looked at the doll and sighed before putting it in his pocket.
"I'll return it to her. She deserves to know what happened to her old man."
Ddraig looked at his partner concerned and asked. {Are you well partner?} Issei sighed since he was confused. "To be honest. I'm not. We're in another world with no one to help us and we're stranded in the middle of nowhere. I don't know where we even are or how we can get home." He punched the ground and sighed as he didn't even notice the damage he just did.
"Wish there was someone who can help us out."
{Partner, it's not as if someone is going to fall from the sky. That impossible even by our standards but for now stay alert. We're not alone.}
Issei was about to ask what he meant until he heard growling from all sides. Large lion like beasts came out into his field of vision and they were growling at him. Ready to sink their claws into the human that was before them. Issei grabbed the axe and swung it in his hand. "Ready Ddraig?" The gem glowed brightly as it shouted.
{BOOST!}
Issei felt the power enter his body as he ran to the beasts that were near him and punched two of them until he used his sword to slice into another one. He was amazed by the power he now had. "Incredible." He ran to the other beasts and swung the stone axe at them which resulted in more blood staining the ground.
Issei didn't even feel winded as he looked at the last of the beasts. The two lions were scared as they were about to run. Issei ran to them and didn't stop. He ran faster and faster than he ever ran before. As he ran he charged up a small red orb in his left hand.
"Here we go."
He punched it towards the lions as he shouted.
"Dragon Shot!"
The beam traveled to the lions and the two lions were vaporized by the attack.
Issei smiled in victory as he used the axe to steady himself as he heard the gauntlet shout {Reset.} Issei felt slightly winded but he was still able to steady himself.
"Man that was a rush. Still that power felt incredible." He looked at the stone axe and smiled seeing that it was still in its prime condition. "That's a relief." He got his breath back and began to continue his walk on the path as he clenched his fist. "Hey Ddraig did fusing with Hercules give me his power?"
The gauntlet glowed as the Dragon nodded to his host. {Yes. It seems that your body has been able to grow much stronger in terms physical strength. Your magic reserves have also grown to that of a Mid Class Devil. Also you seem to have received two unique powers that only Heracles had during his time as a hero.} Issei was amazed but had to ask. "Do you know what kind of powers they are?" Ddraig internally sighed. {Unfortunately I don't know but for now we should be figure it out where we are so we can find a place to possibly rest.}
Issei nodded to Ddraig and continued walking down the path until Ddraig felt a powerful presence fly in the skies fast.
{Partner! Watch out!}
"Look out below! Out of my way!"
Issei turned his head to be met with...
SLAM!
He rolled into the ground as he felt someone literally butt slam him in his face. The two continued to roll until he stopped as he laid flat on his back.
"Ow. What the fuck was tha-?!" Issei was shocked to see that there was a woman on top of him. She had red eyes, long black hair tied up into twin tails with two black ribbons. On top of her head is a black and gold tiara, along with a golden neck brace and matching "O" shaped earings. He noticed that her clothing was very revealing. Her top was a white bra that was outlined with gold and exposes a bit of cleavage along with her lower back and stomach. On her bottom was a jeweled black-gold thong that snuggled deeply in between her butt-cheeks and exposes a large portion of her butt and legs. She also wore a black stocking on her right leg that has golden ornaments, with her left ankle having a golden bracelet. Her left arm is outfitted with a black and gold glove that covers her forearm, while her left arm has a golden bracelet around her upper-arm.
"Ow. That was a rough landing. Huh?" She looked at Issei and was surprised to see that she landed on someone. Now a normal person would ask if they were okay but in this case...
The woman kicked him away as she pointed to him. "Excuse me but who gave you permission to act as my cushion? You should be grateful that I even allowed myself to land on a brute like you. Feel free to thank me."
Issei's eyebrow was twitching at her condescending attitude and decided to do something only a crazy man would do.
"And why should I bitch?"
The woman stopped rambling as she looked at Issei with a shocked looked and asked with a clenched fist. "I'm sorry but what was it that you called me? I'm not sure I heard you right." She used her Mana Burst and sent Issei flying back. Issei was surprised to see that the woman had a lot of magic within her and asked. "Hold on! Look I don't know where I am or where my friends are. Can you please just tell me where I am and where I can find my friends?"
The golden aura stopped as she looked at the boy. "Wait? What do you mean by you when you said you don't know where you are? This is Mesopotamia." Issei looked at her and raised his hand. "Look I'm sorry for calling you that word but I was pissed and I've been through a lot. I was taken from my home, I got some insane power and next thing I know is that I wake up to see that I'm in another place where I had to fight some kind of lion beasts or whatever. So can you please tell me what the hell is this place?"
The woman blinked as she processed everything the man said and nodded. "Okay. I promise I'll explain everything but first you should tell me who you are." Issei nodded as he held out his hand to her. "My name is Issei. Issei Hyoudou." The woman nodded as she shook the hand and smiled. "My name is Ishtar. Feel honored that I'm allowing you to call me by my name." Issei nodded as he found a small clearing and sat on the grass.
"So this is Mesopotamia, huh? It seems quite lovely but what's with those beasts? How did they get here?" Ishtar sighed. "It's a long story but I'll try to explain everything as best as I can. So get ready for a history lesson."
Ishtar drew a circle and explained that the world that they were in is Mesopotamia but it has now become a Singularity due to those Demonic Beasts as their called.
With the appearance of Demonic Beasts in the north, the era began to turn into a Singularity. Gilgamesh ordered Babylon to be dismantled, and used to a build wall to seal off the north from the rest of Mesopotamia. The sacred temple however foresaw the era would turn into a Singularity, and decided to summon Ishtar without Gilgamesh's knowledge. While the Northern Wall was constructed, the temple matron took advantage of the era's unstable space-time to connect to other eras to summon Rin Tohsaka. As she was compatible with herself, Rin was then used by the temple matron to summon the goddess, and to serve as her vessel. She then went on to protect the ranchers in the northeast from the Demonic Beasts. However, she demanded their jewels as compensation for protecting them while also harassing Uruk.
Issei was laughing at Ishtar as she explained this but she tried to push it aside as she carried on the lesson of the Three Goddess Alliance.
In the south of Mesopotamia, Quetzalcoatl and Jaguar Man were summoned by the Grail's influence. They soon took control of Ur and Eridu where Quetzalcoatl placed her Noble Phantasm, Piedra Del Sol, at the altar of a temple she had built to increase her Divinity in Sumer. Both cities are soon surrounded by a jungle that prevents Demonic Beasts from entering. However Quetzalcoatl banned the people of Ur from leaving to get help elsewhere, and those who broke that rule would be killed by the jungle. She also had them send one man a day to Eridu under the pretense that they're sacrifices to satisfy her. But in reality though, she was training the men of Ur to be part of her army.
Issei was amazed at this and had to give the Goddess Quetzalcoatl many compliments for her desire to not just defend the people of Ur and Eridu but also to train them for the upcoming battles ahead of them. Which lead to the third Goddess of the Goddess Alliance.
Gorgon. Apparently she was summoned by the Holy Grail and given the Authority to create the Demonic Beasts but requested humans to create them so she uses the Demonic Beasts to capture other humans so that they could be converted to the beasts that he fought earlier.
Eventually, Kingu convinced Gorgon, Quetzalcoatl, and Ereshkigal, the Goddess of Death, to become a three-joint alliance that became known as the Three Goddess Alliance. Each member was bound by a rule that prevents them from taking hostile action against each other, which also includes revealing their True Names.
Any violation of the rule results in the goddess who broke it in being destroyed. While the Alliance's main goal is humanity's extinction, they're also competing with each other to see who can destroy Uruk and obtain the Greater Grail of Uruk first.
Each member used their own methods to complete their supposedly common goal. Gorgon would use her Demonic Beasts. Quetzalcoatl would personally kill one hundred humans a day. Ereshkigal would use her gallû spirits to take people's souls, resulting in the death of Kutha's population.
However, Quetzalcoatl and Ereshkigal each have their own reasons that they joined the Alliance that don't align with its goal for human extinction, unlike Gorgon who wishes to eradicate humanity. Quetzalcoatl joined to stop the other members by getting to the Grail of Uruk first and that she wanted humanity to truly hate Gorgon so they'll fight with all their strength to stop her. Ereshkigal joined the Alliance to protect as many souls as she can in the Underworld out of her love for humans.
The Alliance then went on to destroy many cities, which forced the many citizens from those destroyed cities to flee to Uruk. So that they may gain refuge with Gilgamesh.
"And now the Three Goddess Alliance has eliminated roughly 80% of the population, and conquered 60% of Mesopotamia."
Issei was shocked by the information and was struggling to process all of it. "So that means that the only safe place in all of Mesopotamia is with King Gilgamesh's in Uruk correct?" Ishtar nodded as she stood up. "Listen to me Issei Hyoudou. You have have incredible power but know that this place isn't where you can live a peaceful life. This land is a battle to the death where you need to fight and kill to live. I'm not going to kill you now but do know that you must be ready to take a life because if your unable to then you will die." Issei swallowed his spit as he got up before bowing to her. "I thank you for telling me all of this." Ishtar smiled at him and patted his head. "Your very welcome. Now then. I think it's time I take my leave." Ishtar was about to take flight until Issei pushed her away from him.
Ishtar was about to ask why he pushed her to gasp at seeing Issei blasted away by a pillar of dark power and sending him into the ground. Ishtar flew to him and lifted him up. "Issei are you okay?" Issei groaned as he got up using the stone axe as a way to pull his body up. Issei had some serious burns as he got up from the ground.
Ishtar flew to him and lifted him up by his shoulder. "Are you okay?" Issei grunted as lifted himself up. "A few scratches but I'm good. The real question is who was the one who blasted at us."
The sound of armor was heard as they looked to see a strange figure walk towards them but Ddraig's eyes widened as he saw this. {It can't be...There's...There's no way that she can be here. It's...It's impossible.} Issei heard the concern in the dragon's voice and asked. "Who are you referring to Ddraig? Do you know who it is?"
The dragon nodded as he responded. {Yes. Someone I met a long time ago. One who has a piece of my power as well as Albion's due to that Mage Merlin. She was one of the greatest Kings who had ever existed in history.}
The sound of armor got closer and closer until the figure was revealed to be someone that Issei was surprised to see while Ishtar but her thumb. "So it seems their here now. This will be troubling." She got in front of Issei and looked at him. "Listen you need to go now. I can hold her off but you need to run." Issei was about to protest until he was caught by a large bow that caught him while Ishtar looked at him. "Head to Uruk as quickly as you can. Now go! Run!"
Ishtar turned to glare at her opponent. "Shouldn't be surprised your here, Artoria Pendragon. The King of Knights."
A dark purple aura was the last thing Ishtar saw before charging into the fight.
Issei kept trying to get off the bow but every time he tried to get off the bow made sure he stayed on. "Dammit. I wish I could've stayed behind and helped her out." He was flying smoothly until a blur leaped into the sky and sliced through the bow.
Issei was sent flying down towards the ground but while he was in the air he looked to see the blur hold someone's leg in their black armored hand.
"N-No way. Ishtar was...defeated?" He managed to land with his wings help softening his landing while he looked at his opponent. The armored Knight was in black armor that benefited that of a Knight, the eyes were covered by a visor that was black with red lines that were in the armor as well, while the skin looked pale as snow, and the hair was light blond that glowed in sunlight.
But the jet black and red sword that was being held by the Knight released a sinister aura that shook the very depths of his heart. Issei could see that the sword was brimming with darkness but the blade felt familiar for some reason.
"That sword. Could it be?" The Knight looked at Issei and slowly lifted the sword and pointed to him. "You there. What is your name?" Issei was surprised by the feminine voice that came out of the mouth until he answered. "I am Issei Hyoudou. The Red Dragon Emperor." The Knight stared at him as she let go Ishtar and removed her visor which revealed her golden eyes to the boy.
She looked at him and lifted her sword. "I wish to see how strong you are. Wielder of the Red Dragon." Issei looked at his stone axe and lifted it up before walking away from the bow. "I'll fight you. On the condition that you let Ishtar go." The Knight looked at Ishtar and nodded before throwing her away from her body to the bow.
She then walked to another part of the field while she waited for Issei to prepare himself.
While Issei was walking to the battle Ddraig decided to help his partner. {Be wary Partner. Excalibur was a Divine Construct. The pinnacle of holy swords and the strongest holy sword whose power was equal to the strongest demonic sword Gram; one of the ultimate god-forged weapons, forged by the planet as the crystallization of the wishes of mankind stored and tempered within the planet. It was guarded by Fairies, before briefly being passed on to King Arthur by the Lady of the Lake and later returned to the lake before her death.} Issei was surprised by this information before he narrowed his eyes at the sword. "But that blade is no longer a holy sword. It's more like a Demonic Sword rather than the Christian sword it was."
Ddraig nodded inside of the gauntlet. {I sense it as well. That is the Black Excalibur. Excalibur's dark form after it was corrupted by darkness. Just as the fairies of the Lake, Vivian and Morgana, can coexist as polar opposites embodying the existence of both good and evil. Excalibur can also hold a dual existence of good and evil. Due to its nature as a "sword that amplifies", it was blackened when Artoria is corrupted and because of this it reflects her inner feelings and corrupted nature." The blackened magical energy is the primeval curse that lurks in the British Isles, and it is Artoria's older sister, Fairy Queen Morgana, who has inherited it from King Uther. The name of this holy sword has changed because it may be the only connection that Artoria has with Morgan le Fay, with whom she could never see eye to eye until the very end. Be warned Issei. You still don't understand your power. Nor do you understand how to use it.}
Issei nodded as he charged towards Artoria and swung the stone as the Boosted Gear yelled.
{Boost!}
The stone axe was slammed down upon the Knight, which created a giant dust cloud until it cleared to reveal that she was fine and well but she stopped the axe with her bare hand. She looked at him with a cold stare before clenching her fingers into the stone axe. "Don't insult me with such an annoying weapon. This won't even scratch me." She broke the stone axe before using her sword and slashing at Issei to send him into the ground a couple feet away from her.
Issei slid into the ground and was alarmed at the power of the Knight before looking at the destroyed stone axe before tossing it away and held his hand out. "Ascalon. Come to me." The sword appeared from his gauntlet and Artoria stopped as she looked at the Ascalon that the boy had before scoffing at the weapon. "You call this pathetic excuse of a blade Ascalon? Don't make me laugh, it's nothing but an imitation of the true Ascalon." She held her sword above her head as she glared at the boy.
"Let me show you true power. This is the true strength of Excalibur."
The dark energy formed around her sword as she kept her eyes solely on Issei while Issei pulled himself up and began to boost himself to his limit until he hit it. "I only have one shot. I need to make this count." The Boosted Gear glowed as it shouted.
{Transfer!}
Ascalon glowed gold and red as Issei charged a Crimson sphere into the sword before yelling.
"Holy Dragon Shot!"
The beam fired at King of Knights and the King didn't even flinch as she saw the attack. She just yelled as she swung her blade downward towards the attack.
"Excalibur Morgan!"
Issei was shocked as he saw the dark energy overpower his attack so easily and as it came straight towards him all he saw was darkness envelop him and his body...
'Damn...Did I just...'
His body was severed him half as his top half was separated from his lower half. Issei's eyes rolled to the back of his head as his body fell and the last thing he saw was the King of Knights standing above him until she lifted her foot above his head and shook her head.
"I'm disappointed in you. Your no Dragon. Your no King. And your no Hero."
After those final words, she stomped on his face so hard all he saw was blood.
SQUISH!
Artoria lifted her bloody foot from the head as she swiped the blade in the air as the blood flew off of it. "Pathetic." She then looked at Ishtar until she saw a hooded figure come next to her and place a hand on her shoulder.
"No. We need to go. Their calling us." Artoria looked at the Goddess Ishtar before nodding to her companion. "Very well. Let's go. I've already grown bored of this battle." She left with the figure and as they left they didn't notice that Issei's body was shaking until it started to heal and recover from the brutality that he faced.
Issei's face was remade into how it was before until his body began to pull itself together as Issei began to become fully healed and his blood, scars, and other injuries healed themselves. Ishtar woke up and saw this happening until she got up and walked to him to see Issei sleeping on the ground, fully healed and unharmed physically that is.
Ishtar brushed a few strands of hair out of the way and smiled at his sleeping face. "To think that your supposed to be a fighter. You seem unguarded like an infant and your face is like an ordinary child, not a warrior. I can't believe someone like yourself is here in this place. I hope you find a way to survive and stay alive." Ishtar was tempted to take the boy to her temple so that way she can keep the boy safe until she looked to see some carts coming up a road and Ishtar had a better idea as she knew where he could be safe and survive.
"This might be the best way for you to survive and stay safe as well." She carried him in her arms as she flew to the carts. "I just hope they don't freak out when they see me."
Later...Unknown Location...
Issei groaned as he felt himself being surrounded by darkness.
'I can't see anything. I can't feel anything at all with my fingers. Does that mean I'm dead? No. No I can't die. I refuse to die. Not until...' He looked at his friends and family back home which made him clench his fists. 'Not until I see them again. I want to live!'
GASP!!
Issei coughed as he woke up and noticed that he was no longer in the field where he met his fate by the King. He looked to see that he was in a cart of sorts. "W-Where am I?"
"Fou!"
Issei looked at his chest to see that a white dog or fox of sorts was on his chest looking at him with its beady eyes before it licked his face which tickled him until he laughed as he pet the dog like creature with his left hand. "Heh. So cute. Where did you come from little guy?"
"He came from me. It's good to see that your finally awake." Issei then got up and held the dog while he looked to see a man in the cart next to him with a little girl that wore a black hoodie and carried a scythe next to her.
The man took off his hood to reveal his face to Issei who automatically described him as a pretty boy. The robe looked as if it was woven with the finest fabrics, though he still looked modest, the mans long hair appeared in colours of the rainbow under sunlight. He smiled as he held a hand out to him. "Hello. My names Merlin and your Issei Hyoudou correct?" Issei was surprised that the man knew his name until he nodded. "Yes. But what happened to Ishtar? Is she alright?"
Merlin nodded. "She's well. She recovered from her attack and saw us coming down the path, she saw that I was a servant that serves King Gilgamesh so she gave us your sleeping body and asked us to take you to Uruk. You've been out for a while now. But a little warning, that little dog is named Fou but it's a little demon that is so mean to me after I raised it for so long." Merlin cried as he wiped his tears until the hooded girl smacked his head. "Be quiet Merlin or I'll kill you." She then turned to Issei and nodded. "My name is Anna. Nice to meet you." Issei saw the girl and asked. "Hey can I see you without your hood please?" Anna hesitated a bit until she took it off but looked nervous about having her face revealed to the world.
Issei was amazed by her beauty and smiled. "Wow. Your more beautiful than another Loli I know. Your have that exotic look that makes you look amazing. It's nice to meet you both. Thank you for having me join you." He ran his hand through Fou's fur and smiled. "So quick question...Do you happen to know if there are others like me in this world? I think some friends of mine are here as well."
Merlin smiled as he nodded. "Why yes. We actually knew your name beforehand since we were told a lot about you by this sweet girl who serves our king." Issei's eyes widened as he asked. "R-Really? Who is she?"
Anna replied as she spoke the name.
"Her name is Asia Argento. She's from another world like you."
End.
Sorry for the late update but life has been busy lately and I'll be even more busy since I'm almost done with my classes and work. So updates will be slow. I also have an idea that could be a Pure DXD story or possibly a crossover that's related to the DXD story, A Fools Heart.
The original story is a pure DXD one that has Issei actually develop and grow as an individual as he goes to take on many tasks and missions while fighting monsters to prepare him for the Battle with Saiorag. I was thinking of doing a triple crossover with DXD, Campione, and Fate but with Issei going into the Lostbelts to learn how to become stronger, smarter and grow as a future king.
OR
I was thinking of Issei possibly being taken or sent to another world where he learns to become stronger and a real fighter like MHA, Bleach, or the Re Zero universe. Can I have your honest opinion on what you think of my idea, please?
