Bloom was looking at the rules on the monopad and it said the following:
Rule#1: Students are allowed to explore the school's open areas.
Rule#2 Violence against Headmaster Monokuma is prohibited. Any student who violates this rule will be punished.
Rule#3: Nighttime is at 10 p.m. and morning is at 7 a.m. Areas like the gym, kitchen and pool are closed at nighttime and entry is prohibited, anyone who enters these areas at nighttime will be punished.
Rule#4: If there are three or more people who discover a body then the body announcement will turn on. That means that the students have some time to investigate the cause of the murder before the class trial.
Rule#5: A student who kills will become the blackened. The purpose of the class trial is discovering who the blackened is. If the blackened is found guilty then they alone will be punished for disrupting the harmony of the school.
Rule#6 If the students pick the wrong person then everyone else who voted for that person will be punished except for the blackened and the blackened will be allowed to leave this academy. This process is called the graduation clause.
Bloom found these rules a little unusual but at the same time they were somewhat fair.
Stella was the first one to start freaking out.
"WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?! WE'RE TRAPPED IN HERE!" Stella yelled
"Calm down, Stella, no one's in danger" Brandon said
Musa jumped in and disagreed with his statement.
"What do you mean we're not in danger?! You heard what that bear said. If we want to leave, we need to commit murder" Musa said
"But can we really trust what Monokuma says? He might be bluffing" Sky said
"Sky's right. If we follow through with what Monokuma's says, then we'll be falling right into his trap" Nabu said
"But there's way to leave this school either" Roxy said
Bloom made the decision to investigate on her own and come up with her own plan to escape this prison that they've been trapped in.
She wondered around the school and came across a door that wasn't boarded up.
"That's strange, this one isn't boarded up" Bloom said
The redhead then jumped when Monokuma popped out of nowhere.
"You found an unblocked door already. Impressive" Monokuma said
After recovering from his sudden appearance Bloom questioned him.
"Does this lead outside?" Bloom asked
The self-proclaimed headmaster let out a giggle.
"It sure does. To be more precise, it leads out to the track and field yard" Monokuma said
"Ah, I see so it's not an exit of the campus" Bloom said
"Of course not! I'm not letting any of you leave this place and go towards the dangerous world outside. But I thought it would be torture if I forbid all students from going outside. So I took extra precautions to allow you all to still go outside but not go outside the campus. Have fun!" Monokuma said
The bear then disappeared. The ultimate doctor then made the decision to go outside and see what it was like out there.
When she opened the door, she saw the track field with white lines that go around in a circle. To her left right as she exits the door was a basketball court and to her right and was a baseball field. Further ahead was a football field.
"Several fields for sports, impressive" Bloom said
She walked further down and saw that there was a tennis court in another section of the track and field place.
Aisha appeared and saw all of the sports equipment and fields and looked happy to see them.
"Look at all this sports stuff. You could play multiple sports here!" Aisha said
"It caught you interest; I see" Bloom said
"Of course! As the ultimate athlete I excel in all types of sports" Aisha said
The athlete then got an idea.
"Hey how about a game? What type of sport so you want to play?" Aisha asked
Bloom shrugged.
"I'm not interested in playing sports right now Aisha" Bloom said
But Aisha wouldn't give up on trying to persuade her.
"Come on, you need to lighten up. If we're going to be trapped here then we might as well take advantage of what we have access to while we can" Aisha said
"I'll pass" Bloom said
"Fine suit yourself" Aisha said
Bloom then wondered off on her own again and made it to the end and saw something that she wasn't expecting. Giant bars that rose up endlessly. They looked like they reached space or the very heavens themselves.
"A giant cage?" Bloom asked
Monokuma then appeared again.
"That's the safety measure I installed to make sure none of you leave campus grounds. It's called the End Wall" Monokuma said
"The end wall?" Bloom asked
The bear giggled before answering.
"Yup that's right. It's impossible to escape this place as long as this is up and there are no people beyond this point who will be able to hear you so don't bother yelling for help" Monokuma said before he disappeared again.
Bloom then looked at the time and saw that it was 8:00 p.m. and she decided to head towards the cafeteria for some dinner. The cafeteria was surprisingly empty, but she didn't complain too muck about it and made herself some dinner and ate it. She then put it in the sink.
She then saw another door that wasn't sealed up and this was surprising to her. Where could this one lead to?
Monokuma popped up in front of her.
"You found the door to the gardens" Monokuma said
"Gardens?" Bloom asked
"Yup! And just beyond these gardens is a greenhouse" Monokuma said
"I see" Bloom said
"But our earth sure does give a lot of birth you know. All the seeds that are planted in her against her will" Monokuma said
The doctor saw the bear was panting heavily, sweating heavily, and turning a bit red.
The redheaded doctor remained silent for a moment before asking the headmaster about what he just said.
"That was meant to be a perverted joke wasn't it?" Bloom asked
The bear then tilted his head and Bloom had to admit that it the bear look a little cute but she wasn't going to admit that out loud.
"Perverted? Me? Never! As your headmaster I need to have a clean mind at all times" Monokuma said before vanishing again.
Bloom was going to have a very hard time figuring out what was going on in Monokuma's head and she might never know what's going on inside his head but maybe it would be better that way.
She then went out towards the garden and saw Flora there examining all the plants that were there. She then saw Bloom and waved at her.
"Hey, Bloom, did you come here to look at the garden too?" Flora asked
"I didn't even know there was garden beyond that door until Monokuma told me" Bloom said
"It's hard to take anything what Monokuma says seriously so I was surprised to see that he was telling the truth in this manner" Flora said
Bloom then went back inside after checking out the green house. She went to the room that was assigned to her and saw that there were multiple clothes that were same as the one that she was wearing right now. They were even the same size as the ones she was currently wearing.
She then heard a bell sound from the intercom and the television in her room turned by itself and it showed a picture of Monokuma sitting in a chair with a martini glass full of red wine in it.
"It is now 10:00 p.m. it is now nighttime. All of you better go to bed. Good night" Monokuma said
The television then turned off. Bloom then decided to do just that and went to sleep.
She woke up the next morning and the tv turned on again.
"Good morning everyone! It is now 7:00 a.m." Monokuma said
The tv turned off again.
"Well might as well get some breakfast" Bloom said as she headed towards the cafeteria.
The cafeteria was empty, but she ignored that observation and just ate her breakfast.
After investigating the school for at least 2 hours the intercom came on again.
"Attention all students, report to the gym immediately" Monokuma said
Everyone then made it to the gym and Monokuma then appeared in front of everyone.
"Thank you all for coming" Monokuma said
"What is this about?" Riven asked
"This is beary embearassing but I forgot to introduce you all to your research labs yesterday" Monokuma said
"Research labs? Stella asked
"But none of us are researchers. Bloom, Roxy and maybe Tecna are the closest ones to being researchers" Helia said
You don't need to worry about that because these research labs are very special" Monokuma said
"Special you say? How?" Icy asked
"Each one of you have a research lab around this school. And each one is related to your talents" Monokuma said
"Our labs are related to our talents?" Darcy asked
"That's right, I forgot to tell you yesterday because I was so excited to have all of you here in my academy. If you use your school E-handbooks, then the doors will open for you" Monokuma said
Monokuma then disappeared and left the students alone.
"I suppose we should check out our research labs to see what they're like" Bloom said
"Not so fast" Stella said
"What?" Bloom asked
"I'm coming with you" Stella said
Bloom wasn't expecting to hear that from the ultimate fashion designer.
"Um…ok but why?" Bloom asked
"Well because I really want to know what your research lab will look like before checking out my own" Stella said
The doctor remained silent for a moment before sighing.
"Fine, do what you want" Bloom said
Bloom's lab was located near some stairs that looked like they went up to another floor they were sealed off by a gate. They went inside the lab and the inside looked like a hospital room and doctor's office. There was all sorts of medicine in some cabinets.
"Ooh this suites you perfectly. A lab worthy of a doctor "Stella said
"This place may come in handy just in case we have an emergency" Bloom said
"I agree, now let's go find mine" Stella said
Stella's lab was found near the girls and boys locker room and they went inside. Her lab had all sorts of clothes and materials to make new clothes. There were tools like scissors and sewing kits.
"Amazing! This is a great place for me" Stella said
"It really suites your talent" Bloom said
"Hey, lets go find the other labs as well" Stella said
"I suppose that wouldn't be a bad idea" Bloom said
The two girls then walked around and eventually ran into Musa's lab. They knocked and she opened her door to them. They went inside and saw that it was a music room with many different instruments. There was a piano, a keyboard, a guitar, an electric guitar, flute, etc.
"Wow! So many instruments" Stella said
"I've never seen so many instruments in one place before. I could practice in here" Musa said
"Won't everyone hear you playing" Stella said
"Monokuma said that this room is soundproof so it should be fine" Musa said
The two of them then found Flora's research lab and it was near the door that led out to the garden and the greenhouse.
Flora had let them inside and they saw that it was like a greenhouse in here except the plants in here grow berries.
"Wow look at all these berries" Stella said
"I know right? These look amazing. None of the plants in the greenhouse are capable of growing this and look at that apple tree over there it has some ripe apples. I touched it but I think I had an allergic reaction to it" Flora said
"Well I could go for snack" Stella said as she managed to pick an apple and was about to eat it.
Bloom looked over and her eyes widened at what the blonde girl was about to consume and rushed over and knocked the apple out of her hand.
"Hey Bloom! What the hell are you doing?! I was about to eat that" Stella said
"You would've died if you had eaten that fruit, Stella" Bloom said
Flora was confused too. She didn't know what the doctor meant by that.
"Died? How?" Flora asked
"That tree is called a Manchineel tree. Everything on that tree is very toxic" Bloom said
Flora and Stella's eyes widened in shock.
The fashion designer then turned to the gardener with a glare.
"Did you try to poison?!" Stella asked with an accusing tone
"N-No! I didn't know it was poisonous!" Flora said
"I believe Flora. She simply assumed that she had some sort of allergy to the tree but in truth it's actually toxic to all humans" Bloom said
"Great" Stella said sarcastically
Bloom then looked over most of the berries in the lab and found some more poisonous ones. She found some elderberries and Ackee fruit. These ones were also poisonous.
Flora was horrified to find out that her lab was basically an environment for poisonous fruit.
"These can be consumed safely if they're cooked properly but even then, I wouldn't risk it" Bloom said
Stella and Bloom then went off and found Roxy's lab near the gym.
There were many animals inside the lab. But there weren't any common animals like cats or dogs. There were some arachnids like scorpions and spiders. There was a snail that was shaped like a cone.
"I wonder what that shell feels like" Stella said
"You're free to try you want to risk getting injected with venom" Roxy said
Stella backed away.
"So far the only safe labs I've been to were Musa's and Bloom's" Stella said
"Perhaps we should try another lab then" Blooms said
They found Stormy's lab outside of the gym on the other side. Her lab had a disco ball and some glowing panels.
"Heh, not a bad place for someone like me" Stormy said
"It certainly looks groovy" Stella said
"We should have a dance off some time and I'll wipe the floor with you" Stormy said
"Geez thanks" Stella said sarcastically
They exited the room and found Darcy's lab near the kitchen. Her lab had some ovens and microwaves. There were also some preparation tables and some cutting boards.
"Wow talk about having your own personal kitchen" Stella said
"It suites my every need and I can bake anything I want in here" Darcy said
The two of them then went to the next research lab and it was Icy's lab that was located near the pool area. They went inside and saw an ice rink.
"It's cold in here" Stella said as she hugged herself to keep herself warm.
"It's just the way I like it. It's cold like me" Icy said
"Cold like you?" Bloom asked
"I've been called the ice princess and some people have called me the ice queen because I didn't hold anything back when it came to beating ice skaters who thought they had a chance against me" Icy said
The two of them then left and found Tecna's lab near the nurse's office. They went inside and saw that there were many inventions displayed and there were even some parts that can be used to build other inventions.
"Wow look at all this cool stuff" Stella said
"I agree. Maybe there something here that I can build that'll help us escape this place" Tecna said
"Like what?" Stella asked
"I haven't thought of anything just yet. I need time to think about it first" Tecna said
The two of them then went over towards the track and field doors and Aisha's lab was near the doors. They entered and saw that Aisha's research lab looked a workout gym.
"This'll be a great place to stay in shape" Stella said
"You bet it will. I know I'll be using this lab a lot while I'm here" Aisha said
The two of them then left and found Timmy's lab near the classroom that Bloom woke up in. They went inside and saw multiple computers and handheld devices.
"The nerdiest lab so far" Stella said
"Stella, I suggest you watch what you say" Bloom said
"It's not the first time I was called a nerd but I do like it here, maybe I could do some digging around to see if I can find out anything that happened here" Timmy said
They then found Brandon's lab inside the gym and the lab looked like a wrestling room and it even had some dumbbells and barbells.
"Wow this looks sporty" Stella said
"I do appreciate having though. I would like to stay in shape" Brandon said
The two of them then went to Riven's lab, which was located near the headmaster's office. Inside was all sorts of spy gear. Like a cloaking device and a stun gun.
"Looks so secretive" Stella said
"That's what a spy is. And I plan on finding out the secrets behind this place" Riven said
The two of them then found Helia's lab near the art room. Inside there were tons of brushes and pencils. There was also some painting boards.
"So artistic looking" Stella said
"I do appreciate the look of this lab and I'm hoping to continue making many more art pieces here" Helia said
They then came across Nabu's lab right outside the cafeteria. They went inside and saw that there was a stage. There was also a long box that was often used for the sawing a person in half trick. There was also a top hat that was used to pull stuff out.
"I like the magic vibe in here" Stella said
"I like it in here a lot. But performing tricks isn't as fun without an audience so I'm hoping that I'll be able to put on a show for all of you soon" Nabu said
They went on and found Sky's lab near the track and field. Inside was a bunch of motor bike models and one motor bike that looked real.
"I like the bike decorations in here" Stella said
"I do too. Too bad I can't exactly ride any of them here in the school" Sky said
It's been at least week and everyone had gotten accustomed to their unusual school life. One morning Monokuma made an announcement that he wanted everyone at the gym. Once all the students arrived Monokuma then started to rant on about how boring it was here because no one was killing each other.
"It's so boring! None of you had even attempted to kill each other. I get bored easily you know!" Monokuma said
"Too bad, we're not going to kill each other just for your amusement" Brandon said
"Just give up and let us go!" Flora said
Monokuma then thought for a moment and then came up with an idea.
"Oh silly me! How could I forget? You all need a reason to kill each other" Monokuma said
"A reason? What do you mean by that?" Roxy asked
"He means we need a motive to kill each other. Without one we won't attempt to kill each other" Bloom said
"That's right and right now I have the perfect motive for you all. It comes in the result of videos" Monokuma said
"Videos?" Stella asked
"That's right, and you'll find them in the computer room on this floor. I've prepared a special video for each of you, so go watch them" Monokuma said as he disappeared.
"Now we know what place to avoid" Flora said
"I wonder what's on those videos though" Musa said
"Are you seriously considering going over there to watch them? That's falling right into Monokuma's trap!" Riven said
"But it might contain answers of what's going in the outside world so it's a risk I'm willing take" Musa said
"Fine suit yourself" Riven said
Everyone else left and the only ones who were remaining were Bloom and Musa.
"I'll watch my motive video too. I'm curious to see what Monokuma had prepared" Bloom said
"Thanks Bloom" Musa said
The two of them then went over towards the computer room and saw that there were several computer monitors. They also had some headphones and they started to play them.
Bloom saw her video and she saw that her family was there with smiles on their faces. Her mother, father and older sister were there. She smiled at seeing her family, but she frowned when the video changed. Her family was no longer there and the room the picture was in was a complete wreck. The video's audio then kicked and stated about all her family members had all died.
Most people would freak out after seeing what was in front of them, but Bloom didn't. She didn't lose her cool at all. The only way to convince her that her family was really dead was if she saw the bodies herself instead of seeing in from a computer screen.
Musa, on the other hand, was didn't have that same mentality and started break down. She fell off of her chair and scooted backwards into the corner of the room.
The redheaded doctor rushed over towards her and saw that she was hyperventilating.
"Musa, you need to calm down" Bloom said
"B-but…" Musa started
"Calm yourself before you pass out" Bloom said
Musa shakily nodded and she managed to calm down within 5 minutes.
"Are you ok?" Bloom asked
"I am now" Musa said
"What did you see in your video?" Bloom asked
"I saw my family and then I saw their dead bodies" Musa said shakily
"That's almost similar to what my video was" Bloom said
"Huh? It was?" Musa asked
"Even if that video did show the corpses of my family, I still wouldn't believe the video because I'm not going to believe what I see from a monitor with a recorded video. If it was live that might be a little different but until I see their bodies with my own two eyes I won't believe in anything that was in that video of mine" Bloom said
Musa just nodded.
"Perhaps we should just go to dinner and then go to bed" Bloom said
That's what they did and the next day Bloom was on her way by herself to the cafeteria when she heard a scream from the cafeteria. She rushed over and was surprised at what she saw.
Right there sitting at a table the slant over body of Riven, the ultimate spy. The other girls that were there were Stella, Musa and Flora.
The intercom then made a dinging noise and Monokuma then appeared on the intercom.
"A body has been discovered, after a certain amount of time has passed the class trial will begin" Monokuma said
"This isn't happening!" Musa said in horror
Flora was crying because she was so scared and Stella was paralyzed with complete fear. Bloom then went over towards the body of the ultimate spy and looked for a pulse and didn't find one. This meant that Riven was actually dead.
The others then showed up and saw the body of Riven and there were mixed reactions between the rest of them.
Tecna was shocked to see that one her friends were dead, Roxy had tears in her eyes but was trying her best to not completely breakdown in tears, Sky looked away with a look of frustration and sadness, Brandon just looked down, Timmy looked on in complete horror, Helia had a horrified look on his face, Aisha had an angry look her face, Musa was already breaking down in tears and Nabu had a look of sadness on his face and was trying to keep himself together.
"W-who did this?!" Timmy asked
"If this is just a dream then I would like to wake up now!" Helia said
Monokuma then appeared in front of everyone.
"Finally, the killing has started!" Monokuma said
"How could you say that?! One of her friends just died!" Aisha yelled
"Of course, I'm sad to see him go too but at the same time things are getting more interesting" Monokuma said
Aisha was about to charge at the bear to hurt him but Nabu grabbed her and held her back.
"AISHA DON'T!" Nabu said
"LET ME GO! I'LL KILL HIM!" Aisha shouted as she tried to squirm her way out the magician's grasp.
Bloom then pointed something out that made Aisha calm down a little and give up her attempt on assaulting the bear.
"Aisha, I suggest you calm down. If you assault him, you'll be breaking a rule. Then you might end up dying too" Bloom said
Aisha stopped struggling and Nabu let her go.
"You nearly avoided punishment Miss Andros, count yourself lucky" Monokuma said
The bear then proceeded to go over the rules.
"Now then I'll explain what's going to happen from here on out. After a certain amount of time has passed a class trial will begin. You will need to find out who the blackened is. If you manage to find out who did it then only blackened will be punished" Monokuma explained
"And how will they be punished?" Tecna asked
"Simple, they'll be executed" Monokuma said
Everyone froze.
"Y-you're saying that the person who did this will die too?" Timmy asked
"That's right. Now unless you want to be executed yourselves then I suggest you start investigating" Monokuma said
"Now you can look at your monopads and find out the information on the victim" Monokuma said
The black and white bear let out a laugh before disappearing.
Everyone was frozen, except for Bloom, who was still examining the body of Riven.
"What is there to investigate?" Aisha asked
"That's enough" Bloom said to everyone.
The entire class then turned their attention towards the doctor.
"If some of you are going to be too emotional to conduct a proper investigation then I suggest you leave this area at once so I can focus doing the autopsy" Bloom said
Musa then glared at the redheaded doctor.
"How can you be so cold after our friend was just killed?!" Musa asked
"I'm used to seeing dead bodies, I am the ultimate doctor after all" Bloom said
"Do you realize that it's the body of one of our friends?!" Musa said
"I do but I won't let that distract from conducting a proper investigation and autopsy" Bloom said
Musa growled and was completely overcome by emotions and let them control her. She was overcome by her anger and charged at the redhead with the intention of hurting her.
"Musa! Wait!" Stella said
The ultimate musician swung her fist at the redheaded doctor but Bloom ducked, grabbed her arm and flipped her over. Musa's back landed on the cold hard floor.
The musician groaned from the pain of being flipped over so suddenly.
Everyone remained silent.
"You're too emotional, Musa, you need to go off somewhere else to cool off" Bloom said
Aisha ran over and helped Musa up. She then guided the musician towards the door.
The others didn't think they would be able to stare at the body of Riven, so they all went off. The only people they remained were Sky and Stella.
"Aren't you two going to go off somewhere to?" Bloom asked
"We just don't want you to be alone" Sky said
"We want to help you" Stella said
"Alright then if you want to help then start by examining anything that looks suspicious in this area" Bloom said
"Suspicious?" Stella asked
"Investigate anything that looks out of place" Bloom said
"Alright, leave it to us" Sky said
Bloom continued to examine the body of the deceased spy. She saw that his saliva seemed a bit discolored, so she took a sample of that by putting it in a capsule. There was also some blood on his neck, and she took a sample of that as well. She looked at the neck wound and that there were two small puncture holes on his neck.
She then looked at the monopad to see the description of Riven.
The victim is Riven Anderson, the ultimate spy.
Time of death: 7:30 p.m.
Cause of death: Poisoned
"So, it was poison that got him, I had a feeling that's what is was since there's no other physical injuries on him aside from that small neck wound.
She then looked on the table and saw that there was a very familiar fruit, Manchineel fruit.
"Did Riven consume the fruit and get poisoned? If so then what about the wound on his neck?" Bloom asked herself
Meanwhile Stella and Sky were investigating in the kitchen and saw that there were some preparations that had been made. It looked like a salad was being prepared or something.
Stella then saw the apple that she had almost eaten yesterday and came to horrible conclusion that there was a possibility that someone had fed it to Riven. But the only person who has access to that particular fruit was…Flora.
Bloom examined blood of Riven and saw that there were traces of both poison and venom in his system and that was suspicious. The fact that there was venom in his blood meant that some animal injected it into Riven and from the looks of it, the animal had pretty large and sharp fangs. By examining the poison and venom both were very toxic and capable of killing a human.
There seemed to be a slash on his throat, and it was small, but it looked like there were also stab wounds on his on his throat as well. From the looks of it the weapon that caused it was small and sharp.
The intercom then made a dinging noise.
"Your time is up please proceed to the library where the class trial will be held" Monokuma said
Everyone was determined to find out who it was that killed Riven because their lives were on the line.
