I don't Rwby only my respective characters
Well, this is high I thought as I looked from my seat out the window of the bullhead that overlooked the city of Atlas from up above.
The bullhead was a little bit smaller than your average ones seeing as the number of students needing to be picked up in the area was smaller than normal. The bullhead only had 8 rows with 3 seats on each side and a hallway separating the middle of the seats.
There were only two seats open on the bullhead both right next to me. The people were scared of me, the fact that I looked different than they did and the fact I have Cirus's emblem on my shoulder.
My hair was white, not too long but thick, and was laid down lazily on top of my head going to each and every side. My skin was tan, much tanner than your average citizen of Atlas, and my eyes were red, not the red that you would see on a Grimm, those ones gave off a wild barbaric glare to it, mine was more calm and calculating yet I hoped it held at least a little bit of warmth to it.
I heard groans of discontent from around me as the students not used to the altitude looked down towards the ground below before focusing on their friends to distract them. I just sat down comfy in my chair drifting off to sleep with the band 'The Score' playing in my earbuds.
After a good 5 minutes of this, I got a notification from my scroll alerting me of a text. Opening it up I can see that it was Orin.
Orin; "So I heard you left this morning to go to Atlas, you said goodbye to Stephon and not me can I ask why."
Me; "I know you don't like the fact I chose to enroll and so I didn't want to upset you is all."
Orin; "I know I didn't like the idea of you leaving to go to Atlas but I would've been happy for you either way."
Me; "Yeah I figured it out just now, sorry, no hard feelings."
Orin; "No hard feelings, What are you doing right now anyway."
Me; "Just hanging out on a bullhead while I wait to be dropped off to Atlas, you?"
Orin;" Eating breakfast with Stephon while Claire and Etain trained in the next room."
Me; "What about Cirus?"
Orin; "Talking with a friend in the garden, some guy with white hair and small glasses. I know you got stuff to do so I won't bother you anymore but text me when your done ok, see you soon."
Me; "Ok see you soon."
I was about to set the scroll back into my lap when I heard a commotion to my left, looking towards that direction I saw a man with blonde hair talking to a bunch of ladies. Not even a second later a slap was heard as the girls walked away with the blonde guy rubbing his sore cheek.
The man in question had a gold and blue shirt that had blue triangles getting smaller towards his crotch area and shoulders. Each triangle had a gold outline with a gold emblem of a star in the middle of his chest. With the rest of his suit being silver.
I couldn't help but chuckle at this which got his attention. Squaring my shoulders I prepared for a fight and much to my surprise he just shook with laughter and sat down in the chair beside me.
"Did that look as bad as I thought." He asked with a contagious smirk.
"Yeah, yeah it did look that bad, what did you say exactly?" I had to ask
"Are you from outer space because your body is out of this world?" he said with a smirk to which I just snorted at it.
"Did you think that would've elicited a good reaction?" I had to ask
He just shrugged his shoulders "I didn't think anything was going to happen but I figured I might as well try."
Extending my hand I gave him my name.
"Holden huh that's a pretty cool name, but I got you beat." He said while extending his hand "Enzo Harleye,"
Shaking his hand I reply "Enzo really, hope your weapon and semblance impresses me more than your name does."
"Oh, that doesn't impress you?" He said with a cocky smirk. "Meet my weapon," he said getting out his blue and gold spear. "Is Legionnaire," He said before snapping it in half and making two pistols appear from nowhere, before placing it back together.
"And my semblance not to brag is kind of a semblance enhancer, anyone in my area can be affected by it." He said with a smile.
I nodded at this, after all, it was a very powerful and useful semblance to have, whether that was the cause of his cockiness was up for debate.
We talked for a little longer, getting to know each other, Enzo was a middle child of 5 siblings his two oldest being hunters and huntresses respectively, and then his two youngest siblings were still in grade school.
His family had sent him to the academy despite the pressure of unprecedented fiscals and taxes that loomed over them. Their parents owned a rental housing facility, despite that and the money problem they still made sure each child got the job they wanted, whether to be a hunter or a soldier like in Enzo's case.
He liked rap music and was actually a theatre kid, but something he distasted was fish, not them being alive mind you, he just didn't like the taste of it when it hit his tongue.
We were deep in shallow conversation before we heard a whirring noise and a shift in the ship showed us we were no longer in flight. The doors open with a hiss as light flooded into the room, not even a second later a man in Altesian gear walked inside with his arms behind his back and stepped forward.
"Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the Atlas Academy. My men will walk you to the nearest entrance where your introduction will take place, and with that, I can only say good luck." He said before leaving, in his place were men and women escorting us out of the bullhead.
Row by row each person stood up and began to walk out of the bullhead in an orderly fashion, just like the fire drills at school.
Soon it was our turn to walk out, we followed them out of the bullhead and into the darkly lit tower that held the occasional blue light. Outside of the tower was a lawn held in a half-circle shape, it was directly outside the entrance of the tower and this too also glowed with a blueish tint.
Surrounding the tower the land dropped down into a cliff. Below the cliff sat a city, with roads and towers of its own, not as magnificent as the one that sat on top of the cliff but still a feat of its own.
This is Atlas academy
Following the line that marched to the entrance the conversation that Enzo and I had was long gone, in its place was a silence made of respect.
Entering the doors that led into the academy it led us to a big room. One that was in a circular shape with a blue carpet and normal lighting. In the back sat a stage that held a group of people, in the middle sat a man known as General Ironwood. To his right sat a girl with white hair, to his left was a squad of soldiers.
Upon seeing those figures murmurs erupted from the crowd, murmurs of awe and respect, with a hint of fear.
"Ladies and gentleman," Ironwood's voice boomed to the credit of its microphone. "Today we all gather here before each other, to begin a new age. An age of hope and justice, and it begins with you, there will be trials and tribulations yes, there will be points where you want to quit and go home, but we will get through it. But before all that, we are here to welcome one another and to feast with each other so today we party and celebrate." He said while raising up a glass as the crowd cheered.
The crowd of people seemed to dispersed, sone walking to the dance floor while others to the food and drinks that were hidden by the people. Since Enzo and I only knew each other we stayed together we both got our drinks and went off to a corner to talk.
Halfway through our talk, he got up to chase a girl with straight blonde hair he called 'cute' a little earlier back in hopes that a new pickup line would work.
So here I was sitting down in a corner with some Mr. Pipper in my hand watching as Enzo got rejected time and time again by each girl he had met. Hearing muffled yelling to my left I looked over a bunch of guys leaning over doubled over in laughter over something that must've been really funny.
Their laughs over the music made it sound weird as if they were laughing in part and in beat with the song. The people that were laughing all had some type of lightish hair, going from light brown to gold-like hair so bright and colorful, you could place an active lightbulb over it and you couldn't tell the difference.
Their faces while held laughter also held spite and hate, with a side of snobbish cockiness. While Enzo had cockiness inside of him he also was nice and happy, with no real ill intent inside of him.
Besides the group of people sat a faunas, holding her ears beside her head she ducked her head in embarrassment and shame to try and hide the tears falling from her eyes.
She had a rose-colored jacket that hugged her body, underneath her jacket was a white shirt that somehow didn't have any stains, with dark jeans hugged her legs and red and white shoes below her.
I looked around the room trying to figure out who had Atlas uniforms over the other people in the crowd. While each entrance and window held guards, most of them were centered around the general no doubt in a way to guard him against danger. The part of the room that held the least amount of guards was the corner we were in with zero guards within eyeshot of the commotion. A bad idea if you ask me.
Figuring that no one else would I intervened. Walking towards them I purposely walked into the four of them knocking the one on the farthest left onto his ass. Glaring up to me the four of them stopped laughing and the biggest began to walk over to me while I just ignored it much to his irritation.
Walking over to the crying girl I could see that she was a redhead, with much of her hair going from one side of her hair with a few strands to the other side. She had green eyes that held water on top of them. And on top of her hair, she had fox ears that drooped down slightly in sadness at the words the group must've said to her.
Putting my hand on her back she looked up to me, tears still falling from her eyes. I gestured with my head that we should head out giving a smirk of comfort after to ease her worries.
She looked like she was gonna decline before her eyes widened looking at the figure behind me giving the tears more room to fall.
"Hey, pal are you not gonna apologize for bumping into my friend back there?" A dickish voice behind me. Turning around I saw the biggest kid in the group said that statement, with said kid holding an axe in his hands. He took a step forward when I refused to give him a response.
"Hey, buddy," A familiar voice from my right called with Enzo as soon as that statement was called coming into view. "What do you think you are doing, all I'm seeing is my friend comforting someone who needs it, and you picking a fight with that axe." He said bringing his spear into view and placing it in between us.
Behind him, the girls that he was probably giving bad one-liners to and was unsuccessful with were now attracted to him, despite his knowledge.
The perpetrator's friend soon also stepped forward behind him bringing out their weapons as well. Seeing them bring out their weapons and the situation becoming increasing towards violence between us I also picked my right razor, Skoll which was in whip form and wrapped around my body. Picking the razor it fell limp towards the floor before straightening out into a curved blade scraping against the ground.
While all this was happening a crowd had started to form and circle us, murmurs started to flow between them, murmurs of curiosity and fear.
We stood around each other, neither of us willing to start the first move and get expelled before we started. Steps were adjusted and breathing leveled out, the girl in my arms that I forgot existed stilled before glaring at the group of assholes before us, before reaching into her coat pocket and getting brass knuckles that held a sharp edge to it making a brass knuckle knife thingy.
Before our cold conflict could turn nuclear we heard shouting and turning to our right we could see soldiers and guards trying to break it up and finding out what happened.
Seeing the commotion I grabbed the redhead's hand much to her embarrassment if her blush was any indication and started to weave in and out of the crowd trying to dodge any and all of the guards prying eyes.
After getting away from the crowd I looked to find an empty hallway, dragging both of us in that direction I turned the nearest corner I could find and let the redhead gain what little breath was still in her body.
After breathing heavily for around 20 seconds she looked up at me, "Why?" was all she asked.
"Why what?" I asked
"Why where you gonna start a fight with them?" She asked in a 'duh' voice as if it was obvious.
"Cause they were being mean to you, they made you cry. It was them that made you cry right?" I felt like I had to ask
She nodded with the quizzical look not leaving her face, "I can take a couple of insults you know right, I don't have to have you protecting me here," she said
I couldn't help but get annoyed at this, I put my neck out there to right a wrong and I'm being lectured for it, by the person I helped no less.
"I just wanted to help ok, but don't worry next time I won't try," I said fed up with the conversation before turning away and walking towards the crowd.
About to leave I was stopped by a hand on my wrist, turning around expecting her to yell at me for turning my back to her.
"I'm sorry," she said I blinked my eyes for a moment, wait did she just apologize? "I know you're trying to help me, I just never really got much help for it, so when you did I figured you wanted something from me, and so I'm sorry." She said all in one breath.
Widening my eyes a bit I was about to respond when I heard someone clear their throat behind me. Turning around I was met by General Ironwood standing there with a smile on his face.
"General, sorry I didn't see you there, I swear I can explain..." I started to say but was cut when he held his hand out for me to stop.
Smiling Ironwood replied "I think I know what happened but I will still have to get your perspective of course," he said before turning to the redhead "Ma'am I was wondering if you could talk to some of the guards for me about your perspective." he said
The redhead was about to run off before turning to me as if she just remembered something "Amas," She said "My name is Amas," she said with a grin showing a few of her fangs just hanging out there before running off.
The general chuckled before turning back to me, "The soldiers guarding me were first years," He said. "When you left you evaded them, so they didn't follow you, they followed me who saw you slip away." He clarified for me
"The group of people you were facing off down there said you were harassing them for no reason, is this true?" He asked
"No," I said, "They were being racist towards Amas for being a Faunas when I bumped into them and saw me comforting her they attempted to start a fight with me, then Enzo came to defend me and it just spiraled out of control from there."
He nodded not entirely surprised, "The main perpetrator's name is Vester, part of the Cinclaus family Vester's father is Amranth Cinclaus, neither are fond of Faunas, sadly it seems to be genetic." He said with a sigh.
He was about to leave before looking at the razor curled against my arm, "Are you a student of Cirus?" He said not looking at my eyes but rather my razor.
Nodding with a smile I replied, "Yeah, just graduated from it actually, only one of my class to graduate and go to the military."
Nodding before giving a smile "Holden right?" he asked waiting for the nod that I gave him. He then chuckled before telling me he 'know someone who had a kid named Holden once' before continuing his questioning. "Well if you are a student of Cirus I should expect great things from you, better not disappoint me." He said while leaving with me following him into the main room.
Entering the room I couldn't help but notice the glare and smirk that Vester gave me thinking he got me, Enzo gave me a worried smile and Amas gave me a knowing grin.
"Ladies and gentlemen, despite it being a wild night it is time for us to turn in, since we don't have your teams set up the only thing we can do is let you all sleep here, sleeping bags are near the entrance and for the sake of tomorrow, get some sleep." He said before winking at me for some reason.
I put my bag next to Enzo and Amas who hit it off from the start. Vester and his group sat across from us glaring at us, but that did nothing with the guards posted suspiciously around the two groups.
Soon after Amas and Enzo who cuddled in his sleep fell asleep I did too, ready for what would come tomorrow.
Wow well, this was long, not much else to say other than the Snyder Cut was much better than I thought I was gonna be.
Fun fact: The annual number of worldwide shark bites is 10 times less than the number of people bitten by other people in New York.
