Outside POV

Sitting quietly to himself, Silver sighed in defeat. He was worn out and tired after the hour-long interrogation he had just gone through. He finally had a chance to take in his surroundings... It was an almost empty room alone in a room that was used for many interrogations in the past… The room was almost empty except for the metal table he was seated at. Sitting on one out of the three metal chairs that were in the room. Across from him, he saw his reflection in a giant mirror... It was huge and he could see how worn and anxious he looked. Chained to the table like some animal when he really was trying to do some good... He just didn't exactly know how to get his point across without sharing too much information that he was from the future and that might mess everything up if he cracks and spills the truth about who he really was.

He stared at his reflection some more before his gaze fell to the scratched surface of the table, almost giving up hope that he might not ever get out of this mess. However, he didn't realize that on the other side of the "mirror" Shadow the Hedgehog stood, glaring daggers at him as he stood crossed armed. Shadow had been watching the entire integration that had just taken place... And he was severely annoyed with the results. He just needed to crack and they'd have all the information they needed on this twerp. He started up his old habit of chewing on his bottom lip, leaning over a little to put his hands on the table that stood right underneath the double-sided mirror, eyeing Silver hard. Sizing him up.

"Commander Shadow, sir." A fellow G.U.N solider greets Shadow, interrupting his train of thought with a salute, stomping on the ground to show respect to his higher up. "I have everything here in this folder on everything we have on Silver." He then relaxes slightly, holding out a tan file folder, stamped with the famous G.U.N logo on its front.

"..And?" Shadow asks, licking his index finger to help aid in opening up the paper folder, eyeing its contents, flipping through the stuff they had gathered... Mugshots of a confused Silver. All of his fingerprints... but that's it. Nothing on his birth certificate, no other criminal records... He was a blank slate which caused Shadow to sneer in annoyance, snapping the folder shut.

"...We apologize sir but we only have what we've gathered here at HQ... He's a nobody that just.. appeared out of nowhere and he's nowhere causing trouble." The soldier grumbles, his bear nature peeking under his helmet as he glances over at the one-way mirror, watching Silver fidget with his handcuffs he was in.

"...Tch." Shadow rolls his eyes and hands the folder back to his subordinate. "Well, obviously we're not getting anywhere if we just stand here and talk about the same damn stuff we already know." He hisses, walking past the grizzly bear soldier. "I'm going in." He says darkly. "When Sonic the Hedgehog arrives here at HQ, please tell him to wait before doing anything stupid.

"Sir yes sir!" The bear salutes again, dismissing his higher up... He watched Shadow push open the doors that lead into the viewing room and without a second to waste, the door opens into the interrogation room. The gray hedgehog jumps upon hearing the door open, sitting up quickly as he watches a new guy come into the room. However, he recognizes him almost immediately. He couldn't help but frown, because this jerk is the reason why he's even here in the first place.

Shadow pulls out a chair for himself before he takes a seat, glaring at Silver. "Are you ready to actually talk?" He asks bluntly, crossing his arms as he leans back in his chair. Silver took in this guy's body language and the way he looked into his mind... He looked mean. He was rough around the edges and he's had his fair share of fights from the way that he presented himself. He had dark black fur with red accents striking across each of his quills, the corners of his eyes, and up his arms and legs. He had a scar across one of his eyes and one of his ears was torn... He wore the same jacket that the last officer had worn. The black leather jacket with many pockets and a logo on the left shoulder... A large letter G stood out from a blue and red background... He looked serious and looked like he wasn't going to be as easy to talk to as the last soldier... Silver swallowed hard to calm his nerves, not going down without a fight.

"..I honestly don't see why I have to." Silver's voice was shaky and it cracked. Silver was startled at his own voice before he cleared his throat, avoiding Shadow's glares. "I already stated my case... I am only here to do my really important job, but you guys are keeping me from doing that by locking me up here."

Shadow didn't care however, he listened to what Silver had to say before he lifts up a hand to silence him. "If you just told us everything and the truth, we would let you go. It's as simple as that."

"Well, I did tell you everything that I could. I don't understand what more what you guys want" Silver grumbles.

"What is your full name?"

"Silver. It's Silver."

"Where were you born?"

"I can't discuss that."

"Fine." Shadow hisses, leaning back into his chair, scowling at Silver with an ugly scowl. "We'll just sit here until the end of time until you tell us the truth and everything we need to know."

"You can't do that to me. I told you everything that I could! I don't know what else you possibly need to kn-"

"I'M HERE!" The door bursts open and Sonic the speed demon comes into the room, carrying a large paper bag with a fast-food logo printed on the paper bags with three drinks in his hands. "Sorry, I'm so late! I had to grab a bite to eat!"

Shadow's face twists into a look of disgust and annoyance as Sonic took the empty seat right next to him... He knew for a fact he had asked the solider in the viewing room to hold Sonic off until he was done interviewing Silver... He deadpanned as he turned his head towards the mirror, making a mental note to chew him out later.

"...Food is not allowed in the interrogation room, Hedgehog."

"Oh relax, Shad... I got everyone a little something."

"You can keep your heart attack meal." Shadow snaps angrily, annoyed that his rival couldn't respect the rules about no food or drink. But it was too late as Sonic began to pass out the drinks and opened up the bag of fast food.

"I figured since we'd be here for a hot minute, lunch would be perfect for the three of us, but I'll just hold onto yours for later, Shad."

Silver sat there, dumbfounded at what was unfolding in front of him... He recognizes the blue hedgehog from earlier and he couldn't help but crack into a slightly amused smile. "Hey, you're..."

"Sonic~ Sonic the Hedgehog." Sonic states happily, pulling out a large french fry and burger. "You're Silver right?" He asks gently, getting as he pulls out another set of fries and a burger. "I didn't exactly know what you liked so I sorta just got the regular, with a Chaos Cola."

Silver was surprised as Sonic set him up with some food and a drink, he stared at crispy french fries and the wrapped-up burger. Sonic then placed a straw down next to the drink and he beams happily.

"I hope you like it."

"..I actually never had this stuff before."

"What?! From the most famous food chain in the United Nations? You've never had this stuff?"

"Well... No from where I'm from... Food is scarce.." Silver explains lightly, nervous.

"Well... dang man please eat up then. You'll love it." Sonic says gently, urging his new friend to eat. Shadow sat back and watched the interaction... Shadow then squints a little, rerunning the conversation in his head.

"You're lying." He bluntly accuses Silver.

"Huh?" Sonic asks, a fry in his mouth. "How is he lying?"

"The fast-food you ordered is from one of the most popular fast-food chains in the entire world, Sonic... How in the world does he not know of it?"

Silver's face reddens slightly, clearing his throat. "I've seen the signs from where I'm from, we just don't have any open for business." Silver explains.

Sonic, who was busy unwrapping his burger squints a little. "...I mean.. Valid reason enough to me." He flashes Shadow a smile, who only responds with a grunt. "Besides... I can tell he's a good guy." Sonic says with a casual tone, lifting the burger up to his lips to take a large bite. Shadow grimaces at the sight of grease leaking out from the burger onto the wrapper in front of the blue hero before he just shakes his head in disapproval.

"He nearly destroyed Central City, he's not good."

"Says you." Sonic snaps quickly with a mouthful. "It was one building Shadow." Sonic swallows his food before he looks across the table at Silver, who sat still with his food still wrapped up in front of him. "He was doing a job... Protecting those who needed it." Sonic then picks up his cup and takes a long sip of the carbonated drink, his emerald eyes glinting with a heroic gleam before he pulls the straw out of his mouth, clearing his throat. "If it had been me, I'd done the same... He was doing a job and sometimes it just gets kinda out of hand... Plus there were no injuries or casualties."

Shadow's eyelids lowered into a bored expression, eyeing his blue rival hard as he went on.

"So from the very bottom of my heart, I believe Silver here..." He gestures to the gray hedgehog across the table. "Has a good heart and he isn't one of our enemies."

Silver felt a weight that was on his shoulders slowly lift... He couldn't help but smile a little at the fact that this guy who he had only met earlier today was sticking out for him. "..Thank you, Sonic.." He expresses his relief.

"No problem, man," Sonic says with a thumbs up before he turns his attention back to Shadow, who sat back in his own chair, unimpressed with all of the cards that Sonic had just laid out on the table.

"So are you saying I should just let him go, Scott free?"

"...Duh..~," Sonic says with a shrug, grinning. "You can't force someone to talk if they do not wish to talk and share personal information... He's obviously got a mission and he needs to get to it." Sonic says, snapping his fingers before he turns towards Silver, emerald locking with amber. "Right?"

"..." Silver's throat tightened... Memories flooding back to his hardships in the future and he just nods in response. "It's really important that I succeed... If I don't then everything will go to ashes..."

"..." Shadow squints. "Is that a threat?"

"A warning." Silver urges, sitting up in his chair as his handcuffs scrape against the metal table. "The world is in danger and I have to get to fixing it."

Sonic then stands up, putting his hands on his hips as he eyes Silver hard. "And I believe it. Shadow, unlock the man, and let's help him with his mission."

Shadow's nose scrunches up, eyeing the blue blur beside him up and down before he scoffs in response. "You're crazier than hell if you think I'll just let him-" A blast of air circles the room and he hears the handcuffs unlock and he deadpans... Sonic stood there with a smug smile, dangling the keys that were on Shadow's belt in Shadow's face... "go free.." Shadow mutters, finishing his sentence as Silver rubs at his sore wrists.

"...C-can I just leave now?" Silver asks quietly, standing up slowly as he stretches his fingers, glad to feel his powers rush through his fingertips once again... The handcuffs that he was forced to wear had dampened his psychic abilities by almost ninety percent and the most he could do was move a pen a couple of inches... Now if he desired to. He could blast through this building with no problems.

Shadow rose to his feet, eyeing Silver hard. "No." Shadow bluntly responds before he turns to Sonic who was in the process of picking up his soda with his free hand. While snatching his keys out of Sonic's other hand, he glares daggers at the cocky hero. "He's going to go under strict surveillance... He's not allowed to go off on his own." He then points a finger into Sonic's face. "I'm leaving you in charge of him... If he goes missing, acts out of line or something happens... You're going to be arrested as well, Sonic.

Sonic was mid-sip of his soda before he looks suddenly offended. "Wait... Why?!" Sonic asks, frowning as he lowers the soda cup.

"It was your idea to free him," Shadow says, gesturing to the gray hedgehog across the table, who stood awkwardly as the two of them fought like a married couple. "His abilities are beyond dangerous and if he ever decided to, he could just rip you apart limb by limb. So if anything were to mess up... That's on you." Shadow jabs a finger into Sonic's chest, causing the blue hero to back up into a defensive manner.

"Chill out man." Sonic grumbles, watching Shadow turn towards the two-sided mirror before he nods once, the buzzer on the door going off as the door unlocks from the other side... Sonic then looks over at Silver, who had finally taken a bite out of one of the crispy fries he had gotten him earlier and he couldn't help but smirk a little. "We got this in the bag, no worries."
