Chapter 2

Estel was taking an evening stroll in the beautiful gardens of Rivendell when he saw something-'maybe an animal' he thought-lying not far away from him. He started to step towards it.

As he neared the creature, he realised that it was a human-a girl-and, not an animal.

He ran towards her and observed her. She appeared to be a girl around the same age as him. She had a beautiful heart-shaped face with high cheekbones with midnight coloured hair as bushy as a bunch of nettles. He tried waking her up, but she did not seem to wake up any sooner.

So, he ran back inside and shouted for his Ada-Lord Elrond. Lord Elrond came rushing, asking him if he was hurt. Estel shook his head and pulled the Lord's hand, nearly dragging him to the spot the girl lay.

Elrond gasped when he saw the girl laying on the grass. 'Oh! She must be the one that the Valar had informed me of. Poor girl, she must have been in a very grave condition to force the Valar to take matters into their own hands.' he thought. Aloud he said to Estel, "I think I have an idea of who she is. Can you carry her? Good, then bring her to the healing chambers."

Estel carried her to the healing chambers and placed her on one of the beds. Lord Elrond came behind him and started to examine her. After a few minutes, he turned to Estel and said, "Go and tell Arwen, Elladan, Elrohir and Lord Glorfindel that I want to speak with them. Also, request Arwen to come and watch over her. The poor girl would be scared seeing an armed guard standing next to her" "You may watch over her with Arwen if you have completed your studies." He added.

Estel immediately ran to the gardens knowing that Arwen would be on her evening stroll. He found her near one of the many fountains in the garden and rushed over to her panting, and informed her about the girl.

He then found Elladan and Elrohir resting in their private chambers and told them that Elrond wanted to talk with them.

Finally, he found Lord Glorfindel in the library reading a book. He apologised for interrupting and then informed him that Elrond wanted to talk with him.

The Lord rose and followed him to the healing chambers where Lord Elrond was present. Upon reaching there he saw that Arwen, Elladan and Elrohir already present there. Both the Lords greeted each other and sat on the chairs put for them.

As Estel started to leave the room, as he had been taught to when the elders were conversing, Lord Elrond prevented him and said, "Since you are the one who found this girl, you also have a right to hear what I'm about to say." Estel, who appeared visibly shocked by this stood next to his pseudo sister, Arwen.

Elrond cleared his throat to receive attention and then began speaking, "A few days ago Lady Estë, the Vala of Gentleness appeared in my dreams and informed me about a girl who would be arriving in my house. She told me to take care of this girl as of she were my own until she has to leave. She also told me that she comes from another world where only men reside and that she doesn't know anything about Middle-Earth. I think that this is the same girl that the Lady told me about." he said pointing to the sleeping girl. Everyone looked at the girl as if she had sprouted another head.

Then Estel asked, "Ada, do you know what her name is? We can't keep referring to her as 'girl'."

Lord Elrond shook his head and replied, "No Estel. Except for the information that this girl came from another world, Lady Estë did not tell me anything about her, even her name."

"Why don't we name her ourselves?" Arwen suggested. Estel nodded and seemed to think for a moment, and then said, "Ok. Any suggestions?"

Everyone seemed to think for a moment. Then Elladan said, "How about Tussa? It means 'bush' in elvish and it fits perfectly for her hair." Estel declined it saying it would not fit her.

Then suddenly Estel said, "How about Anima? Since I thought that she was an animal at first, we can name her as Anima."

Everyone seemed okay with this and nodded. Elladan, Elrohir and both the Lords left the room leaving Arwen and Estel to take care of Anima. After a few hours, Anima woke up and saw Arwen sitting next to her. She immediately sat up and sleepily asked, "Where am I?"
