Chapter 2, changes starting
Shiro leaned against the roof of a building standing carefully balanced on a gutter with a finger gently pushed against his templet. eyes half lidded as he scanned the area.
"and these people are supposed to watch over the hero community" Shiroe muttered able to sense how the current twisted around said office.
but the way it twisted, no it didn't speak of assisting heroes, with how it twisted the current. the commission would cause more problem and increase the severity of the coming tide.
closing an eye as he focused deeper on the mana, a screen forming as the connection where established.
who'd guessed his hud could come in handy for this.

months later...
Eraserhead cursed under his breath as he evaded another hit and lashed out with his capture weapon.
this mess had been a normal routine patrol and while normally a larger group isn't that much of a problem the problem was that almost all but 2 of them had mutant type quirks which means his quirk is useless, and it don't help that all of their movements his own included are hampered by the narrow alley.
so the robbers where causing more problem then Eraserhead would have liked even if he is prepared for the fact that there is quirks he can't cancel it made fights much more annoying then he'd prefer them to be and longer to for that matter.
Mess or otherwise he's still holding his own, already having taken down two of the 8 attackers and when he where going to go after the third opponent he saw a figure move swiftly over the rooftops.
Eraserhead stiffened, and he braced himself to defend whatever the newcomer threw at him. to his surprise the figure did neither.
Rather dropping down and if he'd not seen him coming then Eraserhead would not have notice as barely any sound was heard, at the landing.
the red n gold staff lashed out so quickly that Eraserhead didn't see it move until it was over. The hard wood or was it metal? Impacted the villain's head and sent him crumbling down as if a puppet with cut strings.
Taking advantage in the surprise his arrival had caused the staff spun quickly in his hands, and white bandages wrapped near it's top lashed out eerily similar to his own capture weapon catching one of the villains who'd been about to impale him and threw them right into the wall and rendered unconscious.
Eraserhead let out a sight of relief if a bit annoyed, the newcomer used support items and attacked the criminals at least. so most likely a hero, 'I just wished they would tell me when a new hero is in the area' he thought.
But for Eraserhead it was hard to miss how the villains suddenly became so far more vary, as if scared of the white dressed man while Aizawa carefully kept his quirk from erasing the white dressed figure quirk as to not trip him up.
Between the two of them they took down the villains in short order, and as they tied up the villains Aizawa tried to wrack his head attempting to place the white dressed lithe man with little success.
Frankly Aizawa understood perfectly why the villains became so wary if not outright scared of the lithe man, who Aizawa could admit is as terrifying as he is breathtaking and awe inspiring.
The white dressed man cut one hell of a figure even if he was almost lithe.
The faint blue light from the night sky highlighted the white cloak in a ominous light, sharp cheekbones were thrown into stark shadows of his hood that attached to his coat, and the high collar of his white cloak only brought out the effect further, as it flapped lightly with his movement's doing nothing to hinder him at all which showed comfortable and practice ease with the style of gear.
the glassed-visor was hard to notice at first due to how the hood shadowed his most of his face, but then the glass simply flashed a bright memorizing white-silver and it felt as if the air around them suddenly dropped ten degrees on the mere action.
the glass even if hiding his eyes did nothing to hide that sharp calculating gaze who swept over them and left him paralyzed for the second it rested on him before he almost missed it, the faintest of nods. Eraserhead could compare it to a snake watching a mouse ready to strike at the first show of weakness.
Aizawa had never felt or seen anything like that, but the way the lithe man reacted was definitely trained, landing in the middle of a known situation analyzed his surroundings and deduced what was going on and how they fought in matter of a second.
His fighting style was definitely swift, fast and agile, the way he dodged an attack without even looking for it was almost lazy coupled with proficiency with that staff and the skill with that capture weapon that reminded Aizawa of himself.
He can't have graduated from UA, because he'd certainly remembered someone with a style like his, maybe shiketsu?
taking in the costume he could not recognize it, but all in all it brought out a very mysterious effect which was given and fit the lithe hero very well, a fantasy theme which the staff's appearance only brought out even more and Aizawa could swear he saw something resting at his back but could not pin point what due to the cloak covering it.
Now when Aizawa looked closer the coat and cloak where actually not pure white like he had first thought. While brilliant flawless white there was a golden stripe one on either side of the cloak running from collar over either shoulder all the way down to the lower hem.
the coat had same more pale gold stripe possible going to the shoulder as he could see it on go down on the outside of the sleeves until it formed two broad circles at the sleeves hem. thought the opening of the coat also had the pale gold stripe or edge rather broadening just under it's closed point where it opened up all the way down to the lower hem.
a brown leather belt and was that a bag resting at the left side? the dark suit he wore under the coat and cloak, had silvery like markings decorating it that felt as if a mystery turned tangible giving a faint sheen almost completely hidden in the shadows under the coat-n-cloak.
that left the fact that Aizawa simply could not pin point the hero at all, as there's no way he'd forget someone like this.
but when he opened his mouth to ask the man. The other cocked his head to the side as if listening to something going from the small frown he was getting, while the cloak fell over his shoulders hiding the cloths under it.
A sleeved arm came out signing some words quickly, "have to go, but the police are on their way" further cementing the fact that he was most likely a hero as most underground heroes knew it. the folder and small disk thought surprised Aizawa as they were swiftly thrown to him.
when he looked up again the other man was gone as if he'd never been there in the first place. Only the disk and folder left behind as proof. 'well that was interesting' Aizawa thought looking at the rather thick and heavy folder. black coloring with a green edged black pentagon with a green eye-symbol in it of all things on it. the small disk having same symbol to for that matter.
/
Aizawa was in the detective office waiting for him to return from debriefing his subordinates so he could give a verbal report. Thought he'd have to turn in a written one in a few days but still wanted to get this out of the way, before deciding to look thru the folder in the meantime.
Opening it on a random page and looked at the info by the second page he was reading what it said instead of skimming the surface.
By the third page Aizawa wondered what the hell he where reading, eyes flicking between the pages from hand written notes, to the graphs and statistics, there was several disks thru out the folder.
Some of the stuff in it he's heard merely as rumor, yet the notes here was not a collection of gossip no this was researched information, cross referenced and professionally presented with small notes of recommended path here and there
Thought the other half he's not even heard of, how long did it take to collect this? how the hell did he collect this in the first place?!
Aizawa shook his head as Detective Naomasa entered the office, right he has a report to give. The detective diligently took notes and nodded at the right places, his quirk telling him everything that Aizawa said was true.
"can you tell me more about the hero who helped you?" Naomasa asked slightly hesitant at the mention of him. this is the first time a pro actually meet the person after all.
"about that" Aizawa started "why did no one tell me there's a new underground hero in town?" he asked.
Naomasa expression sharpened slightly "there isn't one" he said simply.
"then who the hell gave me this?" Aizawa asked dropping the folder and disk on the desk.
Namsa paled slightly at the sight of the folder before taking a deep breath and leaned thru the door "Sansa! have forensics go over the scene again we have a Enchanter sighting" he called out.
"Understood!" Sansa shouted back, before Naomasa leaned back in his chair. "Let's just watch this before I'll explain" Naomasa said, plugging in the disk in his computer before watching the unfolding scene. the footage played out exactly as Aizawa remembered, with only exception of being form a different angle.
When it was done, the pro hero turned to the detective "he's a not an official hero" Naomasa started letting out a sight.
"he started showing up about 9, 10 months ago give or take, the first sightings where small, like tripping a purse snatcher to knocking out a robber trying to rob the store he was grocery shopping at from what the person who worked the store describe... thought the grocery incident seem to happen rather often" Naomasa spoke.
"the locals calls him Enchanter mostly because of his response tend to be along the line of traveling mage, or humble enchanter. combine that with descriptions of his appearance the name Enchanter stuck on both sides" Naomasa stated Eraserhead nodded agreeing to that statement.
the detective reached down for one of the folders. A massive file to say the least a photograph taped at the front with the same black and green symbol that was on the disk.
"this is all of the incident reports aside from the first two pages with what little info we got on him" Naomasa said dryly.
Aizawa opened the file two pieces of paper and the not quite vigilante had been active for 10 months now.
Alias: Enchanter
age: unknown estimated between teens to early twenties.
quirk: unknown
address: unknown
gender: believed male
height: approximately around 145-170
appearance: confirmed to wear a white cloak, and coat under it as well as a brilliant white-silvery visor. it's believed he wears dark cloths under it and possesses a bag. He possible have dark hair and blue eyes
Aizawa could not help but to give a blank look. The amount of information for 9 months was pitiful. most vigilantes don't even last a week if lucky. but the sole picture.
Staring at the incredibly blurry picture of supposed vigilante, "is this the best we got?" he asked incredulously.
"Sadly yes" the detective sight, "He's skilled at avoiding cameras and allot of the time the areas he is sighted in don't have cameras period. this was pulled from one of the videos and simply a reflection in a nearby mirror" was the response.
"Aizawa can you give me your observations on Enchanter?" Naomasa asked, the pro sat back gathering his thoughts before giving his opinion on the matter.
"he's fast, and skilled his reaction was trained" Aizawa started stressing the trained part, as he was frankly not sure what to call it. "he landed in the middle of a unknown situation analyzed his surroundings and what where going on as well as to how they fought in a matter of seconds. dodging attacks that would downed most pro's without even looking, planned for it even all within the seconds he'd entered the fight" Aizawa spoke.
"I'd guess some form of reflex or general enhancer perhaps some s class sensor" Aizawa mused before a thought struck him. "If not told otherwise there was no way to not know he wasn't a pro, perhaps someone who got disillusioned with the system and struck out" Aizawa said throwing a glance at the black folder before looking back at Naomasa.
"if I had to arrest a hero for that then I'd say he was you" Naomasa said with wry grin.
Aizawa ignored his friend at that comment, "why haven't you gone after him?" he asked after all vigilantes where somewhat rare most if lucky lasted two weeks a few cases managed longer then that but those where a mere handful if not less.
this Enchanter have lasted for 9 months now and still going strong.
the detective let out a breath "you know what the official stance on vigilantism is" he did not ask
"zero tolerance if they are found. they are neutralized as quickly as possible" Aizawa responded.
"right, but even if ordered no one in this precinct would arrest him" Naomasa said rubbing his templets as if a headache was coming. Aizawa blinked that was a surprise.
"what?" Aizawa asked out wondering if he heard right.
"everything he's done, has been in aid of us, or to protect the innocent" Naomasa leaned forward a wry expression very much visible.
"his most common act is simply walking someone home who feel unsafe, but also from helping carry groceries, to getting cats down from trees he's beloved in this prefecture, if we tried to arrest him most of the city would be up in arms" Naomasa said.
Taking in Aizawa's incredulous look, "and you know the worst part" Naomasa said with a deep slow breath as he pinched the bridge of his nose trying to avoid the coming headache.
"legally the only thing we can take him in for is illegal support item which is failing because lack of supplier and the current theory that he create his own equipment, making that case a smaller fine at best. That leaves jaywalking" the underground hero looked both incredulous and baffled at what he was hearing.
the detective couldn't help but to laugh. "every fight has either been self-defense or in protection of someone else. the villain 90% of the time is the one to attack first, the remaining 10% he interrupts the villain from attacking someone else. Enchanter also haven't committed destruction of property or assault and that's more then what I can say for most heroes" Naomasa explained.
there was silence for a moment after that as it sank in.
"what is his quirk?" Aizawa asked curious .
Naomasa shifted "we've speculated the same as you did just with stealth quirk instead of sensory one with how he tend to disappear. but intelligence quirk is also possible when taking in the gears quality" Naomasa said,
"so we got nothing" Aizawa deadpanned.
"we have some things" Naomasa corrected at that.
"we know that he's male and very well trained and intelligent. we know that he most likely have a job because of his operation hours are mostly on nights and most weekends" Naomasa started "we know from the victims that he's both kind and humble with habit of going where most heroes forget exists. while with villains he's some form of living nightmare" Naomasa counted up.
"I can understand why he's scary" Aizawa admitted, thinking back to how the area suddenly just dropped in temperature when the visor flashed.
"oh, why do you say that?" Naomasa asked curious.
"the visor hides his eyes for most part but when it flashed a bring memorizing white it felt as if the air dropped over ten degrees" Aizawa started. "but even with the visor it don't fully hide his eyes, his gaze, calculating and paralyzing, dark icy eyes that watch ones every twitch like a mamba watching a mouse ready to strike at first show of weakness " he described making Naomasa sight.
"well that's similar descriptions we've gotten from the captured villains. who's generally various versions of watched by a predator, and, look thru your soul and find you lacking" he detective stated.
"the fight aside, have Enchanter even provided information before?" Aizawa asked getting a faint nod as response. it have happened 3 times before, each one terrifying in their accuracy. It's as if enchanter like to break the villain down in their entirety.
Naomasa eyes flicked to the closed black folder for a moment before opening it.
The detective where getting more and more pale the more he read from the pages.
Several of which held small disks of their own, whom Naomasa didn't want to what was on them.
"oh hell" he said faintly, the crimes this folder describes.
Quirk trafficking, human trafficking, child abuse, neglect, exploitation of minors, fraud, unethical medical practices... Several 3rd degree murder and some 1st degree. but the ones who caused these crimes, hell several of the victims are current pro-heroes or former ones who had to be retired or killed for unnatural causes. several rather illegal cover-ups laid bare for anyone to see.
if even a fraction of this is true.
"oh hell" Naomasa repeated wondering how long Enchanter has been gathering this or... no... this is something Enchanter sent them.
and the last four times they've not only been comprehensive but also 100% or close to 100% accurate.
some of the analysis style was very similar to a master analyst online.
Either way Enchanter just gave them everything they'd need to clean out the commission from all if not most of its corruption who lays bared for all to see in the folder.
This is going to be a nightmare case if they thread even one step wrong.

some days later...
Touya had learned how to survive on the streets, primarily sticking to safer parts of Musutafu out of sight of the general public so he wouldn't be placed in a group home.
but that didn't stop the attacks thought, considering he was currently pushed against a wall, and his body flaring in pain.
More and more incidents where someone tried to hurt him, or go after him because of his powerful quirk and so on happened. which just resulted in more and more pain as his body was boiled and burned alive, causing rather sever scaring at several parts of his body.
falling unto the ground as he felt his own fire sputter due to shock, preventing it from flaring out and turning the kidnappers into ash and harming himself again
He blinked ones and then again before starring incredulously at the scene and idiots who had been trying to kidnap him moments earlier was now very much asleep and snoring to bot while still somehow standing up.
"what the?" Touya asked himself, eyebrows furrowed in confusion at the situation. before turning his head to the side as he saw a flash of white and then saw feathers, no wings, wait was those tribal markings? 'what the?' he thought in disbelief at the impressive wings who folded at the kid's back.
Touya stared.
the kid was wearing a pale teal almost white colored parka jacket and a black high neck shirt under it, the pants was dual colored, almost colorless-green being dark on the lower half from knees down lighter color on the thighs. having a pair of grey almost no it was actual metal plates covering parts of the shoes.
There was something dangerous something deadly about him. Slitted pupils and small almost slitted iris, holding a calculative, sharp, too sharp and far too intense gaze in their almost glowing white-blue coloring that held non-corporeal and undiluted power. skin pail, and had high cheekbones and Touya barely could see that the other was a teen due to the almost ageless quality that reminded him of something out of a fantasy novel.
Neck long dark turquoise colored hair that seemed almost feathery with bangs framing most of his face almost covering the eyes. Possessing a lean, slim and slender build that fit the teen quite well, and even with the current clothing the teen cut one hell of a image and that's not counting the impressive wings coming out form his back.
said wings even when folded looked impressive, and held a curtain strength Touya couldn't place. their dominantly white color but there was ice like blue almost electric coloring who flowed into tribal patterns and if he saw right the tribal pattern formed wings? on the wings.
yet the wings looked almost like energy given physical form, as they shimmered, sparkled and almost glowed with something mysterious unknown just under the surface. part form the mysterious otherworldly effect the wings was definitely those of a bird of prey with a wingspan possible twice that of the teen's own height, being fast, swift and agile... each movement wasting no energy at all, seemingly soundless and fluid grace.
the winged teen quickly moved to his side wings softly fluttering, "I'd ask if you're okay if I couldn't see your health being in the low yellows" he spoke confusing Touya, 'low yellows?' he thought.
Izuku decided to search thru his inventory instead as he fished in his pockets for the desired item. there was something familiar about the older teen but he couldn't place from where only that if depending on how this went it could change some things.
Bandages, papers, chocolate, his ceremonial staff, yes health-potion!
taking it out and surprising the other as Touya stared at the glass bottle with a silent question.
"It will at it will numb the pain might raise your health back up a bit. It would be painful to walk otherwise and I'm guessing you don't want to be caught here, I have somewhere you can go" Izuku spoke holding the bottle.
Touya stared bewildered, 'that, did the kid just offer a place to stay and drugs for the pain?' he thought staring at him for a while, as Izuku slowly raised an eyebrow as a minute or so passed. 'well if the kid wanted to harm him he'd already done that, after all he put the kidnappers to sleep without any of us even realizing it' Touya thought, "fuck it" he eventually said taking the bottle and swallowed a portion of the liquid.
the effect was instant.
Touya slowly stood with a wince the pain almost faded leaving him sore, his body feeling closer to the exhaustion after a heavy workout rather than severe burns and bruising that littered his body.
"so where are we going?" he asked, "this way" Izuku responded, heading out form the ally and waited for a moment.
Touya followed, looking at the surrounding who slowly shifted from a low lass area with buildings abounded, before a forest took over. The road old worn, the trees and moss covering what looks like remnants of buildings as nature taken back this area.
Then they arrived to a crater with several buildings looked almost ruin like but allot more intact, in the center back thought was a large cathedral who looked fully intact as if frozen in time... which appeared so out of place yet at home with the surroundings.
Touya wasn't sure what to think as it almost felt as if walking into a different world, as the winged teen lead him to the cathedral opening the double sided carved wooden doors.
the small dark hall, where you could place shoes or hang up jackets at the sides of the walls but it also had a distinct stone and wood mixed feel as wood curled and wrapped as if roots along the walls and rooms corner beams. the second door was a single one but also arched and welcomed one into a stunning fantasy like living room.
Painted windows adding a warm light, a massive fireplace, to the high vaulted ceiling with wooden beams who had celtic and tribal like carved patterns in them. the ceiling thought was painted as if a night sky star map even constellations seem to be brought to life.
a large table as if cut from a massive tree, several armchairs, including two large sofa's and a dark colored mat covered large portion of the stone flooring. there was a door-less vaulted opening at the side and looked to be a rather fine open kitchen on the other side of it. a large staircase leading up to a second floor there was a open door under it leading to a hallway.
The place held a curtain Victorian blended with fantasy and steam-punk look, but felt warm, safe.
Touya looked around and saw that the winged kid-teen opened a few shelves near the hall door before finding what looked to be a first aid kit.
"cloths off"
Touya started at that sudden command, and saw blue eyes giving him a blunt look "you got more injuries then what can be seen. I can help if you let me" Izuku spoke holding up the first aid kit.
Touya sighted before pulling off his shirt and pants, seeing how the teens expression became carefully blank void of any emotions.
'what? who what did this?' Izuku thought the other was faintly familiar but Izuku wasn't sure form where the alternate future possible. wouldn't surprise him if Touya ended up in villainy if he survived, after all ones patience could only hold for so long.
Izuku went thru the first aid kit, not a traditional one in normal sense no this was a adventurer style first aid kit. after all it's not like he has access to a healer here, and Izuku was relived that he foresaw putting this together.
"what's your name?" Izuku asked as he started cleaning the wounds with purified mana enchanted water.
"Tou... Dabi you can call me Dabi" Touya corrected himself.
"I'm, Shiro" Izuku said easy enough. The alias or nickname has more or less become a proxy name at this point... and the researches he volunteer/work with at times started with the nickname due to his wings color with habit of wearing white or pale colored jackets and hoodies. but also due to the fact that Izuku really didn't want any connection to the rather abusive nickname or blood-relation.
He's actually considering outright changing the name legally to.
"you live here?" Touya/Dabi asked.
Shiro hummed his response
"you can stay here if you'd like, thought I have no tv or computer access mostly haven't had the need for one" Izuku said moving on to Dabi's torso.
"I don't need charity"
"it's not, you can stay for free until you find a job then you can pay rent" Izuku responded swiftly. Touya stared at him failing to hide the hope in his eyes, but it's not like Shiro needed to see it to sense it.
"don't you have to ask the owner or your parents?" Dabi asked.
"bought the place myself but as the whole area was is forgotten the original price expired and reduced to a few cents when I bought the deeds for the place" Shiro chuckled "I've gotten rather good at repair and conjuring as I revived the place myself" Shiro explained.
"what?! but you're... like ten or something!" Dabi sputtered in shock. "I'm 13 and emancipated, and frankly the place is forgotten it even exist. so most think I'm some old man on paper owning a large piece of a forest" Shiro said bluntly but amusement rang in his voice.
Dabi stared at Shiro with disbelief before chuckling "you are one weird kid. how do you know I'm not a criminal huh?" he asked.
"your class haven't shifted to villain" Shiro responded making Dabi blink.
"eh?" 'what the? class? shifted? What is he talking about?' Dabi thought very confused.
"fine but as soon as I get a job I will pay rent" Dabi said.
"then so mote it be" Shiro agreed, causing Dabi to stare at him at that sentence, while Shiro finished off with the last bandages.
"That's all I can do at the moment" Shiro said and Dabi looked down at his work,
"You're good" he spoke, but also noticed that the bandages where different actually the whole first aid kit differed from a normal one. The bandages seem to have black markings on the inside, and he could almost tell that they were faintly glowing against his skin.
"Couldn't always afford to get a healer" Shiro responded and there was something silent meaning added to that which Dabi couldn't quite place, or what that silent sentence in it even mean or refer to.
"well I'm heading upstairs in the meanwhile... the archway to the left leads to the kitchen who's fully stocked, so go and take something to eat or just rest here for a while, there's a bathroom next to the staircase, the hallway leads to the library, workshop and training field, there's a hot spring too as well as a sand-garden. Upstairs are a bathroom and bedrooms, also a second door to the library" Shiro said giving a short summary of the rooms and where.
thought Izuku wasn't sure he even added guest rooms in the first place it is worth checking and if not then he'll need to add one. and even if he had added one it was most likely empty which would need fixing.
"sure" Dabi agreed, getting something to eat sounded like a good idea. He did notice that Shiro's eyes flicked just over his head for a moment, before heading upstairs.
Dabi stopped in the opening to the kitchen with look of disbelief.
the kitchen was massive sort of expected it to be roomy and held a seamless blend of old and new thanks to the fine metals and pale stones. From the fire stove at the side next to a actual pizza oven of all things that rested on either side of the massive glass window that took up most of the wall.
a walk in storage, with a freezer and refrigerator next to it, and most of the wall lined with shelves. another wall holding several shelves at the lower half one opened for a dishwasher, with a bench-place right on top of it stretching most of the wall until reaching the sink and continue on to the corner and pizza oven. at the other side of the kitchen-bench was a normal stove.
'seriously?' Dabi thought for a moment, at least the appliances was normal. well apart from the fire oven and pizza oven that is. He wondered how a kid barely teen afford all of this.
Well not that Dabi knows but Shiro conjured allot to get the furniture just like he did to get his gear back. After all permanent conjuring can be used for more things then material or materialize gear from theory to reality. there's casual uses to.
/
Dabi figured out that Shiro is Enchanter early on. It's not that his landlord/roommate even bothered hiding that fact.
The vigilante who for some reason is not hunted by police or pro-heroes considering there were no warrant for his arrest.
At all...
Actually pro-heroes seem to think he's also a legal licensed pro-hero as is most of the public who know of him existing.
the name choice in it's self.
that was insanely fitting, when seen in action.
Enchanter, a mage capable of enchantments, like the regenerative properties in the bandages he uses or literal straight of rpg health-potions that might as well be called regeneration on a bottle.
Looking at his arm, was just faint white-silvery coloring on healthy no pain causing scars, instead of blackish burns and constant pain.
Going with Shiro that day was the best decision he's ever made.
walking thru the ground level hallway who have windows covering the length of one wall the other wall blending into the arched ceiling making it almost seem as if you where outside. wooden beams seem almost as if curling roots and tree branches blending into the beams at the ceiling and mirrored on the other side.
a few doors here and there before reaching a arched double door.
opening the double doors and stopped short in the opening as Dabi stared at the octagon formed library. the Massive library, "perhaps I should have asked what shelf it was on" he murmured faintly.
Victorian inspired, dark woods and warm carpets, soft-chairs and small tables here and there. Walls lined with shelves from floor up to the domed ceiling with every shelf covered in books or scrolls. there is a balcony like second floor at the halfway point at two of the walls, spiraled staircase as much wood as metal tribal like markings decorating it and the railing..
Of course most of the walls had a sturdy metal ladder you could easily walk on attached at a ceiling border and flooring with a rail-path where you could easily pull each ladder across the wall.
Not that Shiro himself needed to use said ladders considering his wings.
Dabi still don't get how any of this fit inside, the living room alone would, should take up almost the entire interior of the cathedral.
the bedrooms and both of the bathrooms where fairly normal in comparison to the rest. while the kitchen, living room and sand-garden aren't as extreme as the workshop or the training room. Of course there was also the hot-spring that's inside but walls and ceiling making it look as if you were out in space
even if the hot spring is a blessing to sore muscles... but Why do he have a hot-spring anyway?
'wait is that an owl?' Dabi stopped and stared. Shiro haven't said anything about a owl living in the library or anything about any form of pets.
'what?'
But there was a black owl with white facial patterns. the wings folded and seemed to almost drape.
no actually with the tail feathers it looked more like a cloak of sleek feathers draping down then anything else, while keen and so very intelligent amber eyes flicked to him before returning to the book and carefully flipped the page with it's talons careful to not damage the old book.
"what?" Dabi asked out.
/
Shiro raised an brow as he saw the book title, Levels of Mana.
tilting his head "interesting read Dabi?" he asked snapping Dabi out of his thoughts not having noticed him coming back for the night.
"yes actually" Dabi said. "wouldn't have found it in the library if not for your owl" Dabi said "wait what owl?" Shiro asked looking startled.
"why didn't you tell me earlier that you got a quirked pet?" Dabi asked.
"I don't" Shiro responded easily wondering what the hell Dabi where talking about, but made Dabi stare at him with disbelief. he's after all seen the owl in question.
Shiro opened his mouth but closed it seeing the owl fly in and put another book down on the table, with the title Mana's Classes on it.
Both stared before Dabi raised a hand and gestured at said owl "that one" he said simply.
Shiro stared at the golden eyed owl, and he'd use that name loosely from what his senses where telling him. it was made of mana, radiating contained and Hidden power non-hostile but in a composition he's only ever sensed in raid ranked summons when summoned by a summoner.
"Dabi that's not an owl" Shiro said faintly his status screen flited on but the results where different then he expected compared to what he was sensing.
Sen Chie
Rank: Raid
Level: s
Race: knowledge spirit
the not-owl let out a soft hoot before taking off again and this time settling on his left wing's wrist, making Shiro's disbelief increase.
"eh? not an owl what are you-" Dabi started "transformation quirks" Shiro interrupted but pretty much said that while it looks like one thing it can be something else.
Shaking his wing and the owl stayed on, giving a hoot in protest, wings unfurling slightly to keep balance. it wasn't moving.
"right so what is it?" Dabi asked.
"you don't want to know" Shiro instantly responded his eyes flashing meeting the amber ones of the owl, with a single command of get off.
It hooted feathers puffing up refusing, making Shiro's eye twitch, before his own feathers puffed out in agitation and the owl hooted in pain, instantly jumping from the wing to his shoulder instead.
Dabi felt a shiver run down his spine at the sight of the wings like that. normally puffed up feathers would look soft, Fluffy. this was nothing of the sort each feather held a diamond strength and resilience in it won't yield.
the feathers edges glinting in eerily white flashing as if light on metal plates, with an wave-flame effect running along the feathers edges glinting of sharpened metals and deadly power as if hundreds of blades ready to run one thru at moment notice.
Shiro stared at the Sen Chie as feather ruffled before carefully laid flat like normal, but retained that sharpened look.
he'd rather not fight it inside or near his home. that battle would definitely destroy the area. it being raid rank thought, that didn't make much sense, it's mana and health was 5 times weaker then it should be unless there was another level difference between world's again.
Well it's not like it's level or rank mattered. it's not even hostile and if it where the resulting battle would be no harder then fighting another equal level adventurer.
Shiroe had been one of the Legendary Adventurers of theladasia, the landers called him archmage for a damn good reason.
you simply couldn't refer to him as anything else and that wasn't merely due to his power as a high level adventurer. no if that was the case then every level 90 adventurer mage would be called arch mage yet that's not the case.
no power weren't that simple, regardless of how inhuman his skill could get at times.
no the spirit wasn't after a fight or it would already started that left some possibilities. one being that it's simply benevolent who's highly unusual, for theladasia but as he's never hear dof spirits outside of stories in this world...
but perhaps it was the familiar system in play.
the familiar system as it was called is peculiar. it's a mana-bond that for the least is very fickle and extremely random. it's when an monster of some sort randomly decide to take a liking to a specific person and decide to I'll stick to them.
but that place on his shoulder.
Shiro's magic reacted instinct at the threat daring to take a place that wasn't theirs to take.
No that place on his shoulder was not for the owl, it is where Shiro's little wisp would cuddle up at, looking over his shoulder at whatever Shiro was doing. And even if it's not summoned he will not allow anything else try and claim that spot to ride on.
Shiro didn't even need to say anything as the owl instantly jumped off sensing how Shiro's magic reared, curled and twisted. Looking very startled and rather confused as they landed on the softchair's back but didn't push, only narrowed it eyes as if searching for something it's missed earlier. Before giving out a apologetic hoot.
"I'm guessing the owl is staying then" Dabi said simply
"it's not like I can get rid of it without killing it" Shiroe responded easily.
Dabi blinked, 'why would we need to kill it to get rid of the owl?' Dabi wondered before deciding he didn't want to know.

an second chapter over...
rewrote this chapter [2021-04-28] to clear up some blanks.
the staff mentioned is in the chapter is known as ceremonial-staff. gold crescent like form at the top and red tinted staff with a white bandage like fabric on it. this staff is a canon one as it's the one Shiroe used while introducing the goblin threat when Princess Renessia asked-begged the adventurers to help on stage.
Izuku found Dabi before he became a villain...
while he can't use healing spells, he is perfectly capable of creating healing items, such like the health-potions or bandages. while item-caused its still magical healing which is way stronger then technical or quirk healing. it's a simple fact.
hence why Dabi's burns reduced from agony inducing black scared-skin that looks to be falling off to healthy skin that holds together the scars an white-silvery tint and shine.
as for the knowledge-spirit owl, have rewritten some aspects to clear up some things.
Raid in theladasia and raid in the hero world are two separate things,
in Theladasia Raid means a opponent that demands 24, high classed S adventurers with about 25% chance of success, due to said monsters rather insane durability.
monsters upon their rise, brought the planet to brink of extinction within about 40-60 years window.
while in the hero world a Raid Battle means or refer to a group of heroes going up against a group of villains or other way around in level varying from B and A ranks rarely with a S rank in it.
quirked animals while happen are more akin to summons in power level. spirits same deal there, thought considered more story then real in the hero world. neither are the same as a Theladasian monster.
as stated in chapter, Shiroe compare the owl to a Summon, and non-hostile at that. not a hostile wild monster.
a summon in theladasia is 4 times weaker then their wild counterparts, while he equaled it's power to about 5 times weaker then it should been in theladasia.
it means that Shiroe Fighting the owl, would be no different then him fighting another S classed Adventurer. and it wasn't an issue to start with as instead of attacking the owl simply landed on his wing, and later moved to shiroe's shoulder. and in chapter 3 it didn't do anything even when a wisp Shiroe's magic light with no attack power hissed at it for trying to take it's shoulder-spot.
no it's not a problem because bluntly the spirit have no intention to fight the one who owns the library it's taken a liking to.
