Chapter 2- Edward Cullen
Ok, so I know that I have wrote a Twilight fanfic that is very similar to this and that it is currently unfinished but the honest truth is that I started that fic off at a awkward storyline and now I don't know how to carry on with it so sorry to anyone who read it and is annoyed at me for not updating :)
THIS FANFIC CONTAINS MATURE THEMES SUCH AS SELF HARM, PLEASE DO NOT CONTINUE READING IT IF IT MAY UPSET/TRIGGER YOU IN ANY WAY
POV: This fanfic is set at the very beginning of Twilight when Bella is new to Forks + her and Edward haven't met yet
Btw, I have and still do suffer from self harm so I am always here to talk if you need to. If you or anyone you know is going through it, please do tell someone, whether that's a family member or a friend, it'll help. Just remember you're not alone in how you feel and there are thousands of other people who are going through the same thing you are 3 x
Edward's POV
As soon as Bella sat down next to me, I knew she was special. She wasn't like all the other humans I'd met, she was.. interesting. Of course, I, like everyone else, knew her dad was the Chief of Police and that her mom had left him when Bella was only a baby. Bella's return to Forks had been the topic of conversation here all week, as you can probably imagine, nothing much happens in a small town like Forks and when something did happen it was a big deal.
I felt sorry for the poor girl, it was only her first day here and everyone was already gossiping about her behind her back like she wasn't there. I notice that Bella doesn't like the attention, and how she hides beneath her hair whilst glancing at the floor.
"Hi, I'm Edward" I say, smiling at her.
She looks up at me shyly and I notice how strikingly beautiful she is. Her eyes are two melting pools of chocolate and her mouth is shaped into a delicate rosebud. She has dark brown hair which frames her face in long waves. She has pale skin and a slight pink blush creeps up her cheeks, only emphasising how gorgeous she is. Her appearance reminds me of the fairytale Snow White and I am speechless.
"I'm.." she starts.
"Bella Swan" I cut in smoothly.
"How do you know that?" she asks, confused.
"Oh, come on, Bella. You're the talk of the school, everyone knows your name here".
"Yes, but how do you know I'm called Bella?" she questions.
"Oh, do you prefer Isabella?"
"No.. it's just only my family call me Bella, that's all," she stutters.
I laugh at her, amused.
"Why are you laughing at me?"
"Because you're confusing"
"So are you" she replies.
"How?" I ask, intrigued.
"Well, you look intimidating and I assumed you were, because no one was sitting next to you but you're actually quite friendly."
"Am I?"
"Yeah, even though I'm new here, no-one's actually bothered to introduce themselves to me yet".
"Really? Well, they're all idiots then, to not introduce themselves to someone as beautiful as you."
She laughs softly.
Bella's POV
Was this actually happening or am I just dreaming? Edward Cullen, the handsomest boy I've ever met calling me beautiful?
No, of course not, he probably just feels sorry for me because I'm new and everyone's talking about me, as if he'd ever find me beautiful. I was plain and ugly, no where near good enough for someone like him. Still, maybe he might actually like me?...
No, I'm being stupid, just because the boy feels like he has to talk to me because I sit right next to him, doesn't mean he likes me. He's probably wishing he was sitting next to anyone else other than boring old me.
"You ok?" Edward asks, concerned.
"Yeah, I'm fine" I say, ignoring the voices in my head.
Our conversation is interrupted by Mr Banner clearing his throat. Everyone immediately stops talking and looks over at him.
"So, class, today we're going to be doing an experiment. I'm going to hand out the microscopes and we will be studying animal cells very closely and drawing labelled diagrams of them" he announces.
At this, everyone moans under their breath and I see quite a few eye rolls.
"Oh, for goodness sake, it isn't that bad, you're lucky I'm not getting you to write an 8-page essay, we can do that instead if you like?" Mr Banner teases.
Everyone shuts up straight away and gets on with the task obediently, no one wanting to write a long essay. Mr Banner hands out the equipment and orders us all to get started.
"Off you go, you've got 20 minutes" he commands.
Edward takes over and starts studying the cell under the microscope, his topaz eyes now narrowed and focused.
"Aren't you going to let me have a look?"
He glances up at me sarcastically.
"Go on then, I doubt you're going to see anything different to what I see though"
"You never know" I mumble under my breath, grabbing the microscope off him, I accidentally brush his hand and I recoil back from him, shocked.
"God, your hands are freezing" I remark.
He swiftly pulls his hand away, choosing not to say anything.
We work in silence for the rest of the lesson, taking it in turns to look through the microscope, neither of us saying a word to the other. I draw the diagrams in my book, having done the same experiment in my last school.
"Alright class, time's over. I expect to see all the diagrams drawn accurately in your books, I'll be checking tomorrow. If you can please put the equipment at the end of your row so I can collect it in, that would be really helpful" Mr Banner says.
I go to grab the end of the microscope and move it to the end of the row like Mr Banner instructed, when my sleeve rolls up, revealing my scars to Edward.
Oh, shit.
To Be Continued…
Ok, so I know that this chapter was really short and that not that much happened but I'm only starting it off for now, I don't have the motivation to write much more, please do review x
