Kaed's New Friend And Second Chances

Summary

I felt so tired, I didn't have the energy to move. But something beckoned me to open my eyes. I did, after a lot of effort. What I saw was not what I was expecting, I had been given a second chance. A second chance to start my life over, I wouldn't mess this up again. Three Moons! Thank you Kami! Thank you!

The Fight For Control

"Go away Lucy. I'm tired, my head hurts, and I want to go to sleep." I yelled at the DNA voice. Said voice just laughed manically in response. I groaned and rubbed at my eyes.

I rubbed my temples in an attempt to stop the sudden headache. I layed my head on the desk with a groan. Akane turned to me with worried eyes.

"Are you alright Kaed?" She asked, and I shook my head and replied.

"I woke up this morning with a headache." I mumbled into the table. Akane frowned and her tone was now motherly.

"Have you had any water?" She asked, and I shook my head.

"Hold on, I'll be right back with some water. Don't go anywhere." I slowly nodded, and Akane went to get some water.

"You know that she's not actually your friend. She's lying and pretending so that she can humiliate you." I tried not to scream as Lucy's voice filled my mind. I gritted my teeth and replied back.

"Shut. Up. Lucy! I'm not listening to you anymore. I don't want to kill people. There innocent human beings. So leave me alone!" I then ignored Lucy's voice for the time being.

I was just drifting off to sleep when Akane returned.

"Here, drink this, it will help the headache go away. At least that's what my mom always said before she died." I almost spit the water out at the last part.

"I-I n-never knew that. I'm sorry that happened to you Akane." I quickly finished the cup of water, and to my surprise and relief, my headache was gone. I gave a wide smile and hugged the other girl tightly.

"Your trick worked. My headache's gone. Thank you Akane!" I said, I covered my mouth when I realized how loud I yelled.

"Oops, sorry about that. I didn't mean to yell." I remarked with a sheepish grin. Akane just laughed in response.

"You should just leave this awful place and go and kill people so that our species can rule the world!" I gritted my teeth and tried to focus on my school work.

"I told you already. I'm not going to kill anymore Lucy. I was given a second chance for a reason. And I'm not going to ruin it by killing people, so, just shut up and leave me alone!" I could here Lucy growling in fury, but I just ignored it childishly. I am a child after all.

"I don't understand algebra! It's so confusing and numbers and leters are in separate categories." said, pouting down at my paper. I then turned to Akena for help.

"Umm... I hate to bother you... but... um... could you help me with this please?" I felt bad for asking, she had her own work to do after all. Akena looked up from her paper with a bright smile.

"Of course I can help you silly. You don't need to be so nervous when asking for help." She said, and I slowly nodded.

"Thank you Akena. I really appreciate it." I said, and Akena just smiled wider.

"No problam. That's what friends are for." I smiled brightly at that.

"Ha! Take that Lucy! I was right! Now what will you do?" I mocked the DNA voice, said voice snarled and glared at me. I just laughed in victory and stuck my tongue out.

"Hay, horns! What are you smiling about?" I turned to see Tammu smiling cruelly at me. I just glared at him and replied.

"None of your business! And I thought Akena made herself clear? Or are you boys deff and blind?" I hissed at them angrily. They just glared back, I stuck my tongue out and turned away, a satisfied look on my face.

"Wow Kaed, you really showed them who's boss! Great job." I grinned happily at my friends praise. I had done it. I kept Lucy at bay, I told the bullies off, and I have the best friend in the whole world. Whoever gave me this second chance. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

"What's our next class?" I asked, turning to Akena, who looked down at her paper.

"Science I think" she said and I groaned in annoyance. I don't like science one bit. But we needed to learn it for some strange reason.

"The only part about science that I like is the animal biology. But the rest just makes my Stomach flip" I say, and Akena nods in agreement and she pulls a face at having to go to science.

"I know right?" Akena says, laughing quietly and rolling her eyes. We then packed up our things as we made our way to our science classroom.

"You two are late!" Hina snaps, staring me and Akena with narrowed icy blue eyes. I gulped, nodded and took my seat next to Akena near the back of the classroom.

"Haha! Your late as usual Horns, what else is new?" I turned my head to see Tumu and his little group of bullies. I just stuck my tunge out at him and turned my head away.

"What's it matter to you? Just shut your mouth and mind you pen business. Do your school work and zip your lips." I smeared, glaring darkly at Tumu as he gulped and nodded rapidly in response.
