Hello, everyone! Here is the first chapter of Haikyuu! Ninjas! Our 12 Karasuno crows learn about why they're summoned to the alternate Japan and the person responsible for bringing them against their will.
Chapter 1 - Story Time
Hinata, Yachi, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, Daichi, Sugawara, Asahi, Nishinoya, Tanaka, Ennoshita and Kiyoko are still in shock of seeing a walking, talking monkey standing in front of them.
"Does anyone else find it weird?" Tanaka whispered.
"Totally." Ennoshita whispered.
"It's best we make camp for the night. Then I'll tell you all everything." The monkey explained, before making his leave.
"Should we follow it?" Asahi asked.
"We should." Hinata replied.
Hinata's answer surprised the other Karasuno crows.
"He may be the only one with the answers. Plus, I can tell he's a nice person." Hinata explained.
"Since when the hell did you take charge?" Kageyama asked, in disbelief.
"I'm not in charge. Just want to get to the bottom of this." Hinata replied.
Hinata followed the little monkey with no regret.
"W-Wait up, Hinata!" Yachi hollered, following Hinata.
"Hinata's right. We'll figure out from the monkey. Let's go." Daichi explained.
Without complaint, the rest of Karasuno followed behind Hinata and Daichi to set up camp and hear from the monkey's story.

Inside a large temple, a huge figure was using some kind of magic to see Hinata and the others follow the monkey.
"So it appears the little old primate has called them back after all this time." The figure, revealed to be a male, said.
"Guess I'll have to pay them a visit to confirm." The figure continued.

It was now nightfall and a campfire was set up with everyone gathered in a circle of thirteen.
"It's time you all know why this is happening." The monkey said.
Taking a deep breath, he began to introduce himself first. "To start, my name is Master Saru." The monkey, named Master Saru, said.
"Saru? Is that Japanese for 'monkey'?" Yachi asked.
"It is." Kiyoko said.
Master Saru chuckled.
"As to why you're here, it's because you were forcibly dragged here by magic." Master Saru explained.
This got Hinata and the others shocked.
"MAGIC?!" Hinata, Kageyama, Yachi, Yamaguchi, Tanaka, Nishinoya, Ennoshita, Sugawara and Asahi exclaimed in unison.
"That is ridiculous." Tsukishima said.
"You may be right. But how would that explain your sudden mastery of your weapons?" Master Saru asked.
"That would make sense. But how?" Daichi replied.
"Because… you're the reincarnations of yourselves in this world." Master Saru explained.
If magic wasn't enough to shake'em, then the fact they're reincarnations of their respective counterparts got'em.
"P-Please tell me you're joking?" Asahi asked.
"B-But how? We've been normal our entire lives!" Tanaka hollered.
"I understand it's ridiculous, but when you each fought those ninjas… you displayed the skills your counterparts worked hard over the years." Master Saru explained.
"In not just your weapons, but the art of ninjutsu." Master Saru continued.
"Ninjutsu?" Hinata asked.
"The ninja art of 'endurance', particularly using martial arts and tactics." Tsukishima explained.
"A shame the simpleton king didn't learn that in Japanese. And that's one of his strongest that he failed in." Tsukishima continued, in his snarky tone.
A red tick mark appeared on Kageyaman's forehead.
"Honestly, I was the one you trained your counterparts since they were infants." Master Saru continued.
"Seriously…?" Yachi asked, in disbelief.
"But if we inherited that knowledge… what happened to our counterparts?" Nishinoya asked.
Master Saru showed an expression of sadness, concerning the Karasuno High students.
"They were badly injured in their bloody battle with… Sengoku Basara." Master Saru explained.
"Sengoku Basara?" Daichi asked.
"Once an old friend turned enemy who embraced the dark arts and bloodshed. Your counterparts and myself fought fiercely against him and his band of 'Red Dragons' to stop his conquest." Master Saru replied.
The Karasuno students listened intensely, wanting (or not wanting for some) to know what's happens next.
"Once the dust settles, we won and drove Basara, who was wounded greatly, away. But Basara warned us that he would return and seek revenge in the next year." Master Saru explained.
"From those injuries, your counterparts devised a plan to regain their full strength by infusing their souls into like-minded souls of another world through magic." Master Saru continued.
"And when they were able to infuse their souls with your minds the year before all of you met, and once each and every one of you met the same year, that's what led to you all here." Master Saru continued.
"Meanwhile, I spent that whole year to try and delay Basara's efforts to prevent that scenario from happening. But failed and had no choice to go along with it." Master Saru continued.
"I don't want you all to get involved again. You kids… you're like my children since I trained you all." Master Saru finished, starting to get teary-eyed.
After finishing his explanation, Hinata and his friends were trying to take in all the information and compose themselves. But some like Yachi, Yamaguchi, Tanaka, Nishinoya, Sugawara and Asahi were unable after hearing Master Saru's heartfelt story.
Even Kageyama and Tsukishima were unable to keep their calm.
"So for a whole year, our counterparts have poured their very existences into the 12 of us?" Sugawara asked.
"So you really tried to stop him all by yourself?" Kiyoko asked.
Master Saru solemnly nodded.
"If he did, you children wouldn't be here." A voice commented.
Everyone immediately got jumpy.
"WHO SAID THAT?!" Hinata, Yachi, Yamaguchi, Tanaka, Nishinoya and Asahi exclaimed in unison.
A large figure attempted to strike from above with a red and golden long staff, but Master Saru immediately saw this coming and jumped up to intercept with his staff.
The two clashed fiercely; sparks of electricity generated from the clash.
Master Saru and the other figure backed off and landed back to their respective spots. Hinata and the others drew their weapons quickly.
"Impressive, old monkey. I thought you've lost your edge after trying to kill me twice the past year." The large figure commented.
"Believe me. I'm still trying… Basara!" Master Saru hollered.
Hinata, Yachi, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, Daichi, Sugawara, Asahi, Nishinoya, Tanaka, Ennoshita and Kiyoko became shocked.
The large figure walked towards the group as the still going flame illuminated his presence, revealing a large and muscular humanoid with the features of a monkey from the manned head to the bushy golden tail.
"That's Basara?!" Hinata thought.
The figure now revealed to be Sengoku Basara, eyed the Karasuno students while crouching down with his staff hung over his head by his right hand, and his left on his left knee. More particularly, Hinata.
"It's been a year, brats. Though it doesn't matter you are or aren't your counterparts." Basara explained.
Basara gripped his staff tightly.
"Time to see if you are the new students that softy primate excuse of a master cherishes." Basara explained.
Next time: Chapter 2 - Enter: Sengoku Basara!
Doing a flashback story is never easy. Especially when you have to make one yourself, but I've remember thinking about these when I think about my stories, so it's okay if the origins of Karasuno's counterparts and their history with Master Saru and Basara make little sense. That just means I'm learning and improving.
