The first week since Fuji was born was unbearable. Day and night Fuji had screamed in agony with no sign of stopping.
Enkai and Hotoru had tried everything, from rocking Fuji on the chair to singing songs, making funny faces, Kushina even gave Fuji her special teddy bear so that she'd stop screaming but all they got in return was a teddy to the face, who knew newborns can throw things, that far included.
The only times' Fuji's quiet, were feeding times but even then she'd still whimper, the other times that seemed to work is when they're far away from Fuji's sight, but well they couldn't have that now could they?
Hotoru, Fuji's mom, took Fuji to the hospital so many times that week, that it had outnumbered the times she herself was admitted in all of her ninja years.

After some tests and experiments, the medics found out Fuji's hypersensitive, she possesses enhanced sight, smell, and hearing. She's also chakra sensitive, It's no wonder that all she did was nothing but scream at them.
Turns out when Enkai, Fuji's dad, had signed the summoning contract with the panthers, his DNA had gradually altered over time. Passing it down to Fuji, an untrained baby, giving her feline traits and abilities, without the need of signing the contract
While this was a hit in the DNA department, without the training needed to help block out loud noise or powerful scents, Fuji will continue to be in pain and be a screaming baby.
She also wouldn't be able to get that sort of training until she could crawl at the earliest, which won't be for quite some time.
So Enkai and Hotoru got to work and created a seal to minimize Fuji's abilities while slowly allowing her to get used to her enhanced senses, without the pain it came with.
The seal was placed on Fuji's back, a spiral in the middle with outer squiggly lines around it, making it look like a sun of sorts.
To use the seal and release more of her abilities or to distinguish them, all you had to do was add chakra into the spiral, the chakra had to be from someone in her immediate family or Fuji herself.
With this seal Fuji was no longer a screaming baby, she mellowed out and only made noise when she was hungry or needed to be changed, the total opposite of what she was before that it almost gave the entire family whiplash.
Of course, this was most likely because Fuji was tired of screaming and just wanted to relax.

As for Kushina, she was a hyperactive child who loved to spend her days and nights with Fuji, while Kushina didn't like the screaming, she had endured it to be around Fuji.
Now though that the problem is fixed, she could be around Fuji all day long without the headaches it used to bring.
She liked to read picture books to Fuji, introduce her to different things, and would frequently sneak into Fuji's bedroom to sleep near her crib.
Fuji loving every second of all the attention she got from her precious sister.
The two would often be seen cuddling together, with Fuji sleeping and Kushina playing with her sister's hair.

At 3 months Fuji learned to roll, At 5 months she started crawling and a crawling Fuji is a troublesome Fuji.
Hotoru and Enkai don't know how but whenever they turned their backs on Fuji, for a split second, she somehow ends up in another place entirely!
First, when they had set Fuji down to play with her toys next to Enkai while he worked on paperwork and while mom got snacks, Fuji somehow teleported into the bathroom trying to put her toys in the toilet. Luckily Ankoku the panther had caught her in time before Fuji could dump them.
Second, keeping a more watchful eye on Fuji, Hotoru made a bed on the floor for Kushina and Fuji to take a nap while she read a book to them about the wonders of Uzushiogakure.
After the both of them fell asleep, Hotoru went into the office with some food for Enkai and then went to study her new poisons in the lab.
During this, Fuji had woken up from Kushina slapping her in the face in the middle of their sleep and escaped the scene with her teddy in hand and went to sleep with the napping panther outside in the sun, said panther was taking a break from Enkai, while Enkai was inside creating new seals while eating some of his wife's delicious food.
Naturally, this gave Hotoru a heart attack when she went to check up on her children, she and Enkai tore the whole house up while trying not to wake up Kushina because a cranky Kushina is worse than a curious Fuji or so they had believed.
Upon searching the whole house and coming up short, Hotoru was in tears calling herself a terrible mom for losing her child, Enkai of course was distraught.
When he was inside his office he had just finished the basis of a seal he created, trying on the new seal he made, Hotoru had kicked open his door so abruptly he jumped and added too much chakra, making the seal malfunction and giving him botched-up senses, disorienting him and so he was no help in finding Fuji.
He did what he did best though and tried to cheer Hotoru up by disagreeing with her and telling her that it's normal to lose ninja children as they're unpredictable and that he's lost them plenty of times before, but was always able to find them afterward, of course, he still had his senses at those times.
Their crying and complaints carried through to the outside and had woken up Ankoku, who was still laying with the sleeping Fuji, who was snuggled and purring, into the panther's fur.
Instead of informing the anxious parents that he had their child and that she was safe as he would never let harm come to her, he stayed laid where he was as to not wake up Fuji the cub, purring back to show his affection, and stayed on guard for her protection from potential enemies...
Like the wind from being too cold for the furless cub, he covered Fuji with his tail and gave a huff.
Enkai and Hotoru later found Fuji when she was carried back into the house by Ankoku from the back of her shirt while she still slept, like how a cat would carry their kitten.
Ankoku then looked at them straight in the eyes as they processed what they were seeing, huffed, and made his way to Fuji's room to properly lay her to rest in a nice warm bed, not like the cold windy outside, with him to cuddle with and not that toy bear of hers.
This went on up until Fuji was 6 months, when she learned to walk, stumbling here and there, just spelling more trouble for her parents, but she had Ankoku, who looked after her when she ventured off on her own like the curious cub she was.

Fuji is by far the more troublesome baby compared to how Kushina was and she was no simple hike up the valley either.
Together though they are like two little gremlins unable to be contained until they were separated.
Fuji, the quiet child who likes to lay in the sun and take naps with Ankoku, doesn't seem the type to make trouble and no one exactly knows when she wreaks havoc, oh she always manages to, but no one knows how, or can catch her.
Kushina, the loud boisterous child who isn't afraid to speak her mind, can't sit still to save her life, and constantly gets caught getting into some kind of trouble, she also will take the blame for any type of trouble her sister might be getting accused of getting into.
They're the perfect duo, Fuji being the mastermind behind the scenes and Kushina taking the spotlight and being the distraction while her sister waits to set off the trap to their pranks, unknowingly joining the long tradition of Uzushiogakure in prank wars between the families and clans.
Ankoku with them showing Fuji how to get into places without being detected, he's no help to them for anything else as he sees fit to let the girls learn on their own, through experience, but whenever things get too out of hand for the sisters', Ankoku will always be right behind them all the way, letting them ride his back to safety, scoring a victory for their family in the PW.
Enkai and Hotoru couldn't be more proud.
They also secretly help their girls in their own way, contributing to their pranks and making it into a big family thing, sometimes when Enkai spots Kushina about to do some crazy drastic stunt he'll be there just in case anyone gets hurt, or just to help in their gimmick like carrying the heavy water buckets and placing them in the exact spot Kushina needs them in, while Fuji hides and waits to pull the strings.
Hotoru however takes things a step further and creates seals specifically for pranking, like a seal that makes reality an illusion and turns stationary houses into swaying houses, thus making it seem like the surrounding is moving and making them lose their balance.
A funny scene really, except for when civilians, or easily motion sick people, get caught in the crossfire between them and the rest of the Uzumaki's plus the other clans and well become seasick...
that is not a sight to see.

Uzumaki children are known as hyperactive, who can't sit still, with large amounts of chakra, they get easily distracted and let their emotions take over, of course, this goes into adulthood but it's more controlled by than compared to as a baby.
A long time ago, it was learned that Uzumaki kids learn things much easier if what they were doing was fun and if they were able to do it on their own, producing the all-mighty pranks feared by nations, this also helped their children settle down and let out some of that unkempt energy.
Clans that later joined their village became a part of the tradition and created their own signature moves for their pranks so that people could know exactly who gained a victory.
This gave children experience in stealth, creativity, strategizing, trapping, and if they work in groups or pairs, gives them the experience of directing, taking orders, keeping watch, and teamwork.

Hotoru and her mother-in-law, Mai, Fuji's and Kushina's granny, began Fuji's chakra control training as soon as she could run without falling at the age of 7 months.
This also meant it was time for her sensory skills training with her father, on top of her chakra training with her granny and ma.
They started with the basics, meditation, an Uzumaki childs' worst nightmare.
Not in Fuji's case though, so far her only problem with it is that she falls asleep meditating from how relaxed she gets, of course, Ankoku was right there beside her to nudge her awake.
Kushina however when knocked unconscious, gets hit over the head awake, by her granny for incompetency.
Meditation will help Fuji become more focused, and let her get a feel of what chakra is.
This will also help her sensitivity to chakra and help build up immunity until she's ready to release more of her senses with her seal.
Kushina didn't start her chakra control training until she was 2, she also didn't inherit any dominant feline genes from her father, instead, she inherited her mother's special chakra.
Because of this, she didn't have to participate in track training, though she still did since her father said it might help her win tag if she's good at tracking, or help not get caught in pranks, it isn't mandatory for her to do like it is for Fuji.
She did have to participate in the chakra exercises more than Fuji though.

The first exercise Enkai had Fuji do was to help her to get used to her advanced hearing without problem, to do this he had Fuji put on a blindfold and sit in the middle of their backyard, she wasn't allowed to move, all she had to do was hear out for anything flying around her and say which direction it came from and where it's at since she could barely talk he had her point from where and to.
He threw small pebbles near Fuji, behind the tree that's a few feet away from her, near her foot, or in the pond far away from her, etc, etc.
Once she became adequate in this exercise, Enkai started throwing things at her instead of around her.
Of course, he did this with some chakra-coated crumpled-up paper, that way when it lands a hit on Fuji it won't hurt and will stick onto her skin as a result of not being able to dodge, kinda like how an actual weapon would upon contact except without the no pain part.
The chakra in the paper also allowed him to throw the paper at any speed he wished, becoming more and more advanced once Fuji got a hang of the current pace.
This exercise helped Fuji identify which direction and how far away a flying projectile or any noise, even stationary, was away from her.
It also helped develop dodging skills without any injury, including paper cuts.
Kushina was glad she didn't have to participate in that exercise as she didn't want to be covered in brightly colored paper, blindfolded in the middle of the backyard, while trying to dodge more paper.
Ankoku however helped fling paper at Fuji from odd angles by hitting the paper with his tail in her direction, she has yet to dodge his hits.
At 8 months, Fuji was able to fully meditate without falling asleep, she moved up in the chakra training and had started the leaf technique, this was a Konohagakure exercise, but as they were sister villages they both influenced each other's training styles
Once she was able to stick 5 leaves to her forehead she moved on to shells, they're more delicate and if added with too much chakra they'll crumble.
She also had to religiously do her chakra exercises or else she'll lose whatever control she might've attained, as her body's small and still growing, her chakra grows alongside it, to keep her control over her rising chakra she had to meditate day and night, as well as keep at least a dozen leaves on her body while continuously moving them around without them falling off of her.

Kushina was able to do the wall walking exercise at 5 1/2 years old, 3 months before Fuji finished her current chakra exercise.
She moved onto water walking with her mom and granny on their lake.
As this took a large amount of concentration and with her granny changing the current of the water every time Kushina got comfortable, it took Kushina a while before she could even get a hang of this exercise.
Kushina also started her calligraphy classes, something she loathes but something Fuji was interested in but isn't allowed to do quite yet.
Soon once Kushina turns 6, she'll be able to join the big kids at the academy and learn how to fight the Uzushiogakure way.

Enkai being the son of the leader of Uzushiogakure, the nephew of Mito Uzumaki, His mother being the youngest sibling to Mito. Enkais soon to be heir to lead the village.
This makes Kushina and Fuji princesses of Uzushiogakure, their grandmother the 'Queen', and their grandfather being the 'king'. Though none of them care for titles, it's what they're seen as, because of this Kushina and Fuji have to undergo royal training on top of their regular training.
Mannerisms, a princess must be polite, graceful, they must also learn body language, to read other peoples emotions like they're an open book even when they're closed.
Tea, a princess must learn how to make a delicious cup of tea and how to pour it as well, they must learn the political talks or casual threats or boasts disguised as a friendly chat, they must also learn the difference between their cup being clean or poisonous.
Poisons, a princess must build up immunity to poisons in case of an assassination attempt, they'll also get to learn how to make poisons if they wanted.
Control, a princess must learn how to use her emotions to the fullest, to be in full control over themselves, and be able to think straight in any situation.
Deception, a princess must learn how to act in any situation to get in or out of.
Tactics, a princess must learn how the government system of their village and other villages work, as well as learn strategies of warfare.
Politics, a princess must learn the political ways of the ninja world to always be able to always keep the upper hand.
Calligraphy, a princess's handwriting must be neat and readable, this will also help them later on to create seals of their own.
A princess must also learn, above everything else, leadership.

Kushina hated her royal training, she could care less about mannerisms, she never had to care about it before so why did she now?
She thinks tea is bitter and the evilest thing to come into existence, as for poisons, she thinks that finding them in her drink is useful so that she doesn't die at least.
The immunity build-up to poisons though?
That sucks, she gets sick every time someone feeds her a new poison, they can taste nasty but sometimes they can taste like the best thing ever, only for her to be on the toilet all night long.
She has to do it though, she has no other choice, as her parents won't take no for an answer.
She never took any of the other training seriously, making her a non-suitable candidate for the future heir of Uzushiogakure.

Outside of the village, war was going on, the Second Shinobi War. Hotoru and Enkai now playing a big role and being deployed, they're unable to watch over their children themselves, left Kushina and Fuji in the hands of their granny.
Kushina's 6 when she started the academy where she'll jump into her ninja career, stopping her princess training.
Fuji's princess training continued...

Fuji at 12 months, having already mastered the leaf and the shell exercise, learned how to crawl on walls, moving on to walking on water.
While her dad was out at war with her mom and Ankoku, she had to have someone else continue her senses training, her father's guard, a close friend, and most trusted, Yasuda Hamasaki-Uzumaki.
