Meredith: Are you okay? You seemed tense yesterday when I brought Doc over. Ps. Is Doc better?

Meredith: Hey, it's been a while. He's my dog too. I get it if you don't want to talk to me, but please tell me how the dog is doing.
Addison: He's doing fine.
Meredith: That's great news? Is he walking better now?
Addison: Yes.
Meredith: Can we walk him together?
Addison: I'll drop him off at your place later, and you can drop him back when you're done.
Meredith: Oh. Okay then.
Addison: Sorry. Too busy.
Thursday
Meredith: Hey, it's really lovely out. Do you want to walk Doc together?
Addison: Can't, working.
Meredith: You're not actually, I checked.
Addison: I'm busy. Sorry, Grey.
Meredith: Are you still mad at me?
Addison: Yes.
Meredith: But why? Did I say something that upset you? I miss you, Addison. I thought we were friends :/.
Addison: Got to go.

Meredith: I don't know what I said or did wrong but I'm bringing over doughnuts and hot cocoa now. And we can walk Doc to the new dog park that's opening and you can tell me what's upsetting you.
Addison: Meredith-
Meredith: I'm tired of waiting. This isn't what friends are supposed to be like. You can tell me why you're mad, and we can get over it together.
Addison: Meredith-
Meredith: We own a dog together. We used to go for walks all the time. We used to talk all the time and now it feels so silent. I miss you.
Addison: Wouldn't you rather be spending time with the vet?
Meredith: What? I haven't seen him since… Is this what this is about? You're upset I walked Doc with Finn?
Addison: …
Meredith: That's it? You're angry and you wouldn't talk to me for three days because I walked the dog with someone else? Dogs like to walk, and Doc likes the park. That's it.
Addison: It wasn't just a dog walk, Meredith. It was a date.
Meredith: So? You probably walk Doc with Derek all the time. And that's like a date. Because you're together and married and stuff.
Addison: We don't, actually.
Meredith: But you could.
Addison: He's not interested. He's told me that the dog is my responsibility. He doesn't walk him.
Meredith: He doesn't help you at all? What a jerk.
Addison: Thank you.
Meredith: Are you still mad at me?
Addison: A little. I'll get over it.
Meredith: Okay, can we go to the park and talk then? I was serious about the doughnuts. I can't eat them all by myself.
Addison: Sure.

Meredith: That was so fun. Did you see the way that Doc played with the other dogs? We'll have to go back there!
Addison: Yeah, it was a nice park.
Meredith: Do you want to go again this afternoon?
Addison: Alright.
Meredith: I'm so happy.
Addison: That we're taking Doc back to the park?
Meredith: No, that we're friends again :).
Addison: I'm happy too. Sorry I was mean for a while.
Meredith: It's okay.
Addison: No, it's not. Do you want to come over later? I'll put a cake on.
Meredith: In the trailer!?
Addison: This kitchen may be small, but I can be surprisingly resourceful.

Addison: So, something surprising happened today.
Meredith: What's that?
Addison: Derek wants to walk the dog together.
Meredith: Okay?
Addison: The three of us. Actually, he said you could bring Finn if you wanted.
Meredith: Okay?
Addison: Strange, right?
Meredith: A little, yeah.
Addison: So do you want to?
Meredith: Sure.
Addison: Will you be bringing Finn along?
Meredith: He might be busy. I can check.
Addison: Okay.
Meredith: He's free. We can meet you in the park.
Addison: Alright then.

Meredith: Okay, so I'll be the first one to admit that that was a bit of a disaster.
Addison: Good to know we're on the same page about that.
Meredith: Yeah that got a little bit out of hand.
Addison: No kidding.
Meredith: I think the city of Seattle thinks we're always yelling like banshees.
Addison: I don't think Banshees even yell that loud.
Meredith: Right, maybe concert speakers yell that loud.
Addison: Or maybe sirens.
Meredith: Or helicopters.
Addison: Or construction zones.
Meredith: Either way, we were loud.
Addison: Yes, I sure hope nobody who knows us was there. Or else we'll be known as the feuding doctors who can't decide how to raise a puppy.
Meredith: Well, Finn is technically a vet.
Addison: He's an animal doctor. Isn't that your thing?
Meredith: It's not about having a 'thing,' and I disagreed with him anyway.
Addison: I know right? Just because he's recovering it doesn't mean we should be feeding him treats all the time. You'd think a vet wouldn't spoil our dog.
Meredith: Yes. He has a schedule! We stick to it!
Addison: We do.
Meredith: We're good co-dog-parents.
Addison: We are.
Meredith: I think I might break up with Finn. I don't think I can date someone who I disagree so strongly with.
Addison: Oh?
Meredith: Yeah, it's gonna be rough, but I think he can handle it.
Addison: Will it be rough for you?
Meredith: I'll be ok.
Addison: You can come over later if you want to talk about it.
Meredith: As long as Derek doesn't get upset at me the way I clean Doc's paws again.
Addison: I'll be sure of it.

Meredith: Okay, I have to confess something, and I really don't want you to be mad about it.
Addison: I'm listening.
Meredith: When I was over at your place last night, I saw some papers on the table. I know I probably wasn't supposed to, but I saw them. And they were divorce papers. Are you and Derek separating?
Addison: We are. It's not really a secret, everyone will know soon enough. But thank you.
Meredith: You didn't tell me?
Addison: You were dealing with your own breakup. I didn't want to put my problems on you.
Meredith: Nonsense. I'm always here for you.
Addison: Okay thank you. Yes, we are separating. The dog was the last straw. We don't divide labor very well, and we weren't working. So we're separating. And that's that.
Meredith: I presume you're getting the dog out of this?
Addison: Is that even a question? :).
Meredith: YOU SENT ME A SMILEY FACE!
Addison: I did :).
Meredith: When is it happening?
Addison: Tomorrow.
Meredith: Do you want me to bring a bottle of wine over after?
Addison: Sure, but I won't be at the trailer anymore.
Meredith: Where are you staying then?
Addison: I've been looking up AirBnB's that take dogs.
Meredith: You could come over if you want. I mean, Doc already lives here too.
Addison: Oh, Meredith, I couldn't. It's too much trouble, I'd never ask you for that.
Meredith: It's no trouble. And then Doc would have both of us around. Wouldn't that be better for him?
Addison: Maybe it would be…
Meredith: Seriously, come over. At least for Doc's sake.

Meredith: Let's find a new dog park. And go for a long walk. And go to the dog bakery!

Addison: What's that?
Meredith: I heard back from the vet. Doc's doing much better!
Addison: Oh that's such good news. Let's celebrate!
Meredith: Absolutely! We can give Doc a bath, and groom him up all nice. Maybe take some photos.
Addison: Yes! And let's get one with both of him with him.
Meredith: Yes, I'd like that.
