"It's beautiful" a young cloaked woman said smiling as she marveled the pendant carefully. It was custom made just for her, which would be a gift to her best friend in a few days. She had woken up earlier than usual just to come to town and get this.

"Then it's in your liking?" the merchant asked her and she nodded.

"Yes, it turned out beautifully. Thank you." She said, her silver blonde hair barely showing, with only a few locks falling forward, from beneath her baby blue hood of her cloak.

"Pardon me for my rudeness but…. the ceremony will begin shortly. Shouldn't you be heading to the palace?" The young merchant asked as he placed the pendant inside a decorated white box.

"There's still time." She said smiling as she placed a pouch of golden coins on the counter and picked the box. "What we agreed on with something extra for doing a good job." She said heading to the door.

"Oh, thank you so much Dalbich Jeonsa." He said, bowing his head grateful. As the cloaked woman left the store, a customer caught a glimpse of her face and then turned to the merchant.

"Who was that woman? She seems familiar." The customer said, tapping their cheek trying to think. "Oh, that's Son Usagi the 6th general of the Kouka Kingdom." The merchant said.

"General Usagi!? The legendary Moonlight Warrior!? Why would she be here?" The customer exclaimed in shocked and awe that they just encountered one of the most powerful people in the Kingdom.

"That's private, but Lady Usagi is known to go down to the city and interact with the people, and is well beloved throughout Kuuto." The merchant said as he began to stock up boxes.

Usagi stepped outside of the small shop at the corner of town just below the castle and looked up to the sky, letting the hood to fall down revealing long silver blonde hair that reached her knees in two buns with flowing pigtails and crystal blue eyes. A small smile formed on her lips as she felt the gentle breeze.

"A breeze will always blow in the direction that it wishes to go." She said with a small smile, then the sound of gongs rang through the city. The silver-haired woman froze at the sound of it knowing that the gongs meant that the ceremony had begun and that she was late.

Usagi's expression changed from calm to panicked in a second, "I'm going to be so late!" she said as she ran at inhumane speed to the castle.

At Hiryuu Castle, King Il stands before a crowd of his subjects, giving out a speech. King Il has a reputation of being a weak and cowardly king who hated wars and weapons, but overall is a bubbly man with a kind heart.

"This is the tenth year since the death of my father, the late King Juman. Our Kingdom of Kouka is a small nation with powerful neighbors from the north and south, involving us in many wars. However thankfully, these ten years have passed with no significant battles, and to this day, we have enjoyed prosperity in this land. The King said as he stared at the common people.

"Where's Princess Yona?" Son Hak, General of the Wind Tribe and known for his unmatched skills as Thunder Beast, asked the soldier that stood by his side.

"It seems that she is still getting ready…" The servant trailed with a nervous smile, not really understanding what was taking the Princess so long when she looks beautiful in everything she wears.

"I see… Because he's coming today." Hak said, frowning at the thought. "She's such a child." He added, earning a confused look from the soldier who decided it would be wise not to ask further. "She has spoiled her." He whispered with a growl.

"Are you talking about your sister, the Dalbich Jeonsa?" He asked him and the Thunder Beast sighed. Shouldn't she be here? "Nobody has seen her since this morning."

"My daughter, Yona, will soon be sixteen years old. I pray under the divine protection of Hiryuu, king of old,the peace of this nation will last for all eternity!" He said and everyone cheered clapping.

"Long live King Il!" The crowd cheered.

Meanwhile, Usagi arrived at the castle through a secret entrance. She started heading to her room to leave her cloak and the present for Yona's birthday, when she saw her two retainers with a group of servants.

"Umino! Naru!" Usagi exclaimed as she walked towards the group. Naru, a girl with wavy reddish brown hair with blue eyes and a teal bow in her hair and Umino, a boy with spiky brown hair with brown eyes and glasses noticed her and waved. The other servants smiled and bowed their heads in respect for the General.

"Lady Usagi! Where were you! The ceremony is almost over!" Naru scolded as she took the cloak and box from Usagi. "I had to run an errand, but Naru can you please take these to my chambers that will help a lot." said Usagi as she handed the box to Naru.

"Lady Usagi! There is still paperwork for you to fill out, and your visit to the Castle Orphanage is this afternoon." said Umino as he looked over Usagi's schedule in a scroll he took out from out of nowhere.

"I'll get to the paperwork after I check on Yona, so where's the Princess?"

"Yona-hime is still in her chambers preparing for the ceremony." said a servant with a sigh. The Princess took the entire ceremony preparing for said event.

"Thanks! Oh and tell Ikuko-san that I'll be at the Orphanage this afternoon!" Usagi said, smiling as she ran to Princess Yona's Chambers.

"She's a ball of energy isn't she?" Said a servant as he smiled fondly at the direction the General went. "Yes, but she has a heart of gold and an aura that affect everyone who's encountered her." said Naru.

"Lady Usagi is the perfect image of a Princess!" Said a female servant as the group continued their duties. "Ironically, all of Usagi-sama's duties are the duties that Yona-hime is supposed to do." Said Umino as he looks through the scroll he's carrying.

"Really!? Then it's unfair that Lady Usagi has to do the Princess's work, while the Princess spends all day worrying about her hair." Said the male servant. The female servant huffed and said "Sometimes, I wished that Lady Usagi was our princess instead of that spoiled brat."

"Sakura! Don't say things like that! You know that Usagi-sama doesn't like when people are bad mouthing her friends!" scolded Naru.

"It's the truth and the rest of the castle thinks that too!"

"You looked wonderful Princess." Min-soo said with a smile as he stared the princess as she stared at herself in the mirror. "Forgive me, but we should proceed to the courtyard soon-" he started, but soon stopped as Yona groaned.

"No, this isn't right!" She said as she took off the cloth and ran to the maid. "Hey, where is that chintz?" she asked the maid, "Oh!" she said as she saw her father walking inside the room. "Father!" Yona exclaimed, in pure surprise. At his presence, everyone bowed in respect "What about the ceremony?"she asked, confused.

"As you can see, it's over." Her father said with a smile.

"Oh, no…" Yona trailed in guilt, looking on the floor with red cheeks, embarrassed about it. "I'm sorry… I… I…" she trailed, trying to excuse herself, but instead of scolding her father merely laughed.

"Well, no matter. It was merely a formality There is no need for you to appear before the people." the King said with a smile.

"Um, father… isn't there something odd about my hair?" Yona asked him, all the sudden, though for her to ask this particular question was a routine.

That the exact moment, Usagi entered the chambers with Min-soo and the other servants acknowledged her with a smile.

"Of course not! Your beauty surpasses that of any jewel-" the king started, but the princess cut him off.

"Yes, that's my face." Yona said as she started twirling a strand of her hair. "I believe i was born with a cute face." She said and everyone in the room sweatdropped. "But why is my hair so red and unruly?" she asked growling loudly. "Grr! It won't behave at all!" she exclaimed frustrated.

"That isn't true as all." Her father said, turning slightly to look behind him. "Right Hak?" he asked the man who just entered the room, unannounced. Princess Yona froze waiting to hear the reply.

"Yes, King Il." Hak said, kneeling down, bowing to show his respect. "Who would ever say that the Yona-hime's hair looks strange? If anything is not right, it would be her brain." Hak added with a smug grin.

"Quiet, knave!" Yona said with a glare before she grabbed the first thing she found, throwing it to him and then another, and another, and soon a "war" started, with her throwing things at him while Hak caught them and placed them back to their original places. "Father, do something about this impertinent cretin!" Yona said as she kept throwing things at him.

Usagi was witnessing their squabbling with annoyance, this always happens, Yona asked about her hair, Hak makes a comment which starts their bickering and it's always her who breaks up their fights.

Sighing in exasperation, Usagi walked over to her two bickering friends and pushed them apart. Hak and Yona halt their squabbling, surprised that Usagi came out of nowhere to break them up.

"Hak! Stopped teasing Yona!" Usagi scolded Hak before turning to Yona with a smile.

"Yona, I love your crimson hair, it's like the morning dawn." Usagi said bubbly while petting Yona's head. "Thank you Usako, but I wish my hair wasn't so curly." Yona said as she twirling a strand of her hair.

Usagi then felt a hand on her shoulder, she turned around to look at Hak who was glaring at her. "Where were you!? You skipped today's training, with me as your opponent!" He said with a vein mark popping on his forehead.

"Oh! I knew I was forgetting something, but in my defense, I had to run an errand." The blonde said in thought. Everyone sweat dropped at her answer, feeling the dark aura rising from the beast.

"That was the same excuse you gave last time! I spent two hours of my life waiting for you to show!" He asked, the vein popping dangerously.

"Come on Hak! We're of the Wind Tribe! We always go with the flow!" Usagi said as her arms moved like waves.

"Don't inmate those idiots!"

Usagi laughed as she spinned around, but she suddenly tripped on her dress. When she tried to balance herself, Usagi fell to the floor on her face making everyone sweatdrop.

Hak burst into laughter at his sister's clumsiness, Usagi growled in anger and started bickering with Hak.

"Now, now … the way you three seem to bicker, it may be a shock that you 3 are childhood friends." King Il said with a smile, trying to reason with them. "And Yona, Hak is one of the six generals who protect this castle. He is the Wind Tribe's-" he started but Yona only scoffed, picking up a teacup from the tray Min-soo was holding.

"I don't care! If you need guards, pick someone more lovable, like Usako!" Yona exclaimed, frustrated with Hak, throwing the cup, aiming for his head, but he caught it easily.

"Speaking of lovable people." Usagi said, turning to Yona. "You better hurry up, I received word that he had arrived." She said to Yona, noticing the guard from the corner of her eyes who waved at her from the door, before he walked away, knowing she got the message.

"That she said on time." Hak mumbled as he grabbed a cup of tea. That was enough to set the young princess on fire, as she turned red, matching her crismon hair.

"Y-you should have said something sooner!" Yona said as she ran out of the room.

"Soo-won? That's why she's so worrying about her hair?" The King asked, slightly confused. "But why now?" He asked, curious, looking for answers.

"It must be that thing they call a 'maiden's heart'." Hak said, taking a sip from his cup.

"You still remain energetic, Princess Yona." Soo-won said with a smile, holding Yona by the shoulders that bumped on him, while she ran through the corridors to greet him. She ran into him. "So why the rush?" He asked her.

"I-I heard that you have arrived, so I came to greet you." Yona said somehow excited, with red cheeks.

"My, what a good girl." He hummed happily, petting her head.

"Y-you can stay for a while this time, right?" She stuttered blushing.

"Of course. I came to celebrate your birthday in a week." Soo-won happily confirmed. "Wow… you're going to be 16!" He cheered happily, clapping his hands together. "You really have grown!" He said petting her head once more. "So, where are King Il, Usagi, and Hak?" He asked surveying while Yona had a look of shock and annoyance. "I must say hello." He said, running off.

"He's treating me like a child… " she mumbled annoyed, with a frown. "Like a child … like a child!" She angrily chanted away. "And I perfumed my clothes with the finest Incense all morning, and applied only the highest quality lotions and makeup." She muttered blushing, with a bit of sadness.

"All that hard work and effort, all for nothing…" a familiar annoying voice popped up. Yona jumped as she looked in another direction to see Hak leaning against the railing eating a dumpling and Usagi sitting on the railing.

"You be quiet!" Yona yelled in anger before she sighed sadly.

Feeling pity for the Princess, Usagi jumped down and purposely landed on her brother's foot.

"Oi! ..."

"He's staying longer right? You can impress him during this visit right?" She said automatically cheering Yona up. "You're right! Thanks Usako" she said as she hugged Usagi and then ran down the hallway.

Usagi looked as her best friend faded away, eyes filled with sadness and guilt. Soo-won's heart is already taken and you don't know it, Yona-chan.

Once she was out of earshot, Usagi whipped around and looked at her older brother, who slightly tensed.

"I am innocent." Hak said, holding his hand up in defense, a poor one if she adds.

We both know that's a lie." She said and he grinned, amused. She had a point. He did have a record. "You got to work on your people skills."

"I don't have an aura that flocks people to me like flies are to honey." He grumbled through his food. Since childhood, Usagi had a bright, bubbly, serene aura that makes those around her difficult not to like her.

"Anyway i'm heading towards the castle orphanage, wanna come?"

Hak snorted in disagreement, "And have those brats crawl all over me? No way."

"Oh really? I distinctly remember you being a protective big brother to the kids back in the wind tribe."

"Shut up"

Looking up from the scrolls she was reading, Usagi cat stretched, feeling her muscles sore before she yawned, rubbing her eyes tiredly, Having studied enough, for now, she stood up from her chair and made her way to the window of her room. Standing beside the window and gazing at the gardens, which her view. Sighing softly, she started to sing.

Silver light

She turned her face up to the starlit sky

And on this night began to wonder why

She knew that soon the day would come

Born to be

An heir of beauty and serenity

Into this world she entered quietly

To her surprise she was the one

Destiny was close behind her

Phantom of borrowed life

And the sea was a reminder

Mirror of given light

Then one day

The sign she'd waited for in skies of grey

Traversed a winding road and came her way

She found the love she hoped she would

But she knew

That she had promises to stay true to

The dormant daughter of the silver moon

Then all at once she understood

Destiny was close behind her

Phantom of borrowed life

And the sea was a reminder

Mirror of given light

From the sky

She watched the life

She'd known she would leave behind

Said goodbye

And gave her people

Life through her sacrifice

It was the song she remembered since she was a child, she didn't know where she heard it. Looking up in the sky, she widened her eyes when she noticed a figure in the air, flying freely and gracefully. She smiled gently recognizing the falcon. It was Soo-Won's pet falcon, gulfan. The animal flew around for a while, enjoying the freedom before it dove lower and flew to a person that just walked into her view. Soo-Won held his arm out and his pet landed on it. He smiled as he petted his animal affectionately. He suddenly paused and turned to look in her direction. Their eyes locked almost immediately. He smiled at her, waving at her with love in his eyes. Usagi smiled at him lovingly as she blew a kiss at him before pulling the curtain closed.
