Chapter 2: Crashing At A Hero's Place

It was finally over. Years of abuse from Kai Chisaki were finally over, and it was all thanks to the three heroes in front of Izuku. The shock of the moment had deactivated Izuku's quirk, which was a good thing because he didn't really know how to turn it off. Words alone couldn't express how thankful he was for these three heroes who he would always be indebted to. He couldn't help but ask what their names were.

The rabbit heroine was named Rumi Usagiyama, but her hero name was Miruko (who had called someone she said would bring help for Aizawa), the wooden hero only told him his hero name, Kamui Woods, and the tired-looking man was, as he already knew, Shota Aizawa, hero name: Eraserhead, who was being supported by Miruko and Kamui as the whine of an ambulance's siren drew closer. Izuku had heard the sound before, when he was still allowed to go out on walks with Chisaki, and he had told him what the noise was.

The four walked out of the facility, not stopped by any of the Yakuza, and that's when Izuku figured out why. An entire army of police officers and other heroes had apprehended all of them while the others went to save him.

Miruko shouted, "Everyone, we got him! Mission accomplished!" The mob of police cheered as they began to ship the criminals off to various prisons. Izuku could see a man with the head of a dog making his way towards them. From the looks of it, he was the police chief, because all of the police officers he walked past stopped what they were doing and bowed.

Kamui Woods leaned down and said to him, "That's Mr. Tsuragamae." Tsuragamae walked up to the heroes with a look of regret on his face.

"It seems the members of the Eight Bullets have escaped," the dog-man said.

Aizawa grunted out, "We got one of them. He's back there, and their boss is dead."

Tsurgamae perked up, "That's great news. With their leader out for the count, they'll be unable to reorganize for a while, and in that time we can track them each down." Izuku doubted that the Eight Bullets would be so easy to track down. Miruko and Kamui volunteered to go retrieve the unconscious body, but it was decided that it would be just Kamui. He ran in but quickly ran out.

Kamui shouted, "He's gone! The big brute isn't there!"

Of course. They hadn't left while they were fighting and had snuck away with Kendo Rappa. They would be back eventually. Miruko said, "Don't sweat it, kid. If they come back, I'll kick 'em right into a jail cell!" Izuku felt calmer after she had said that. She really seemed like she was strong, so it wasn't hard to see that she could do something like that.

In ten minutes, most of the police were gone and Aizawa had been taken away to the hospital, leaving Miruko and Kamui Woods with Izuku. Izuku had wanted to go with Aizawa, but the paramedics had told him he would be asleep for a while to keep him stable. Apparently that spike had ruptured a vital organ and it would be a while before he would fully recover, even with the help of someone called "Recovery Girl".

Miruko told him, "I bet Eraserhead'll be on his feet within a day or two. Those doctors don't know how determinedthe guy is!" Kamui and Miruko both got a message on their phones about a nearby incident and had to decide which of them would watch Izuku. It was eventually decided Miruko would stay and "babysit" while Kamui would go solve whatever crime was going on.

But Miruko didn't seem to be bothered by it. In fact, she seemed to be excited. "I've always loved kids," she explained, "You little guys are so rambunctious and I love it!" Izuku asked what rambunctious meant and Miruko laughed.

"I'm gonna need to teach you a lot about the world, aren't I? Don't worry, I'll teach you all you'll need to know about life!"

Izuku felt happy for the first time in a while today. He had finally escaped after years of torment, and now he seemed to have an unofficial family.

Rumi taught him quite a bit. Such as when she told him about video games, which sounded like a lot of fun, depending on what the game was about and how it was handled. She also told him about the top hero schools, such as Yuuei High, Japan's finest school for heroics. If he wanted to be a hero, that'd be the place to aim for.

The day seemed to culminate near dusk, when something rather unexpected had happened.

There was a loud boom that came from a building they had been walking past, and Miruko had jumped into action. The crowd that had been following them nearly the whole day began to cheer her on as the man responsible walked out, ready to fight. If Izuku remembered correctly, Miruko had called the building a bank shortly before the building had went up in flames.

Izuku couldn't take his eyes off the confrontation. Miruko proudly said, "Stand down, criminal. If you wish to fight, you'll end up regretting it immensely!" She smiled as she waited for his response, which would surely be a resounding "no."

Sure enough, the well-built man activated his quirk, a ball of flame sputtering to life in the palm of his hand. "Bring it on, bitch!" Miruko seemed to enjoy the call to action and ran forward.

When a fireball was thrown at her, she rolled out of the way and kept striding towards him. Ball after ball of red hot flames were sent her way, but all missed their target. She ended the fight by jumping into the air and spinning, before she brought her foot down on the skull of the criminal, sending him sprawling onto the ground and knocking him out cold.

Izuku was honestly amazed as the crowd of people rushed her and began asking questions. It was only then that Izuku realized the crowd had been a mob of reporters waiting for something like this to occur.

One reporter shouted, "Miruko! Miruko! I think everyone here would like to know what your relation to that small child you've been with all day is, and who he is!"

Miruko looked at Izuku and said, "I'm kinda like his cool aunt, and I can't tell ya who he is for security reasons." Izuku blushed hard when she christened herself his "cool aunt" and she noticed and began to laugh.

The rest of the day wasn't too eventful, because she decided they would spend the rest of the day where she lived.

The apartment was pretty large, and warm, which was nice. Izuku always felt better when he was nice and comfortably warm. She commented, "I have places like this all over the place. I just crash at any of them when I need to."

Izuku yawned and Miruko said, "Tired already, huh? Makes sense. You've had a pretty long day, huh?" Izuku sleepily nodded. "You can sleep on the bed. I'll manage on the floor." Izuku was honestly too tired to object, and opted instead to just crash on said bed. He fell asleep almost immediately
