Castle Bleck, night

The team had just witnessed Sans win against Chara, who they just learned the name of along with Frisk's.

They sat down in front of the television, waiting to see the next episode.

Yet Darker

"Fascinating. This timeline is...strange. Maybe...just maybe."

"Who said that?" Ruby asked.

"Have patience, young Rose."

Waterfall

The scene cuts to Sans being woken up by Frisk. "heya. my break just started. wanna go to grillby's?"

Frisk nods their head.

"cool, over here. i know a shortcut."

"So...they're friends again?" Yang questioned.

"I try not to doubt what happens, it just makes things harder."

Frisk happens upon a strange gray door. A door they've never seen before. Out of curiosity, they open the door.

Inside, they find a man with cracks in his face. Somehow, there was no blood coming from his injuries.

Meanwhile, Sans enters Grillby's and finds he lost track of Frisk. "uh, where's the kid?" he asks Grillby, who responds with a head shake. "oh, shit."

"Oh shit, indeed, my friend. Oh shit, indeed."

The girls just gave the figure a deadpan look.

The door to Room 269 closes behind Frisk, leaving them alone with the unknown monster.

"Ah, yes. I've been watching you, Frisk. Your DETERMINATION exceeds most. With that kind of power, with that Soul, I could return. I could be whole again.

"What does he mean 'I could be whole again'?" Ruby asks.

"The man you see on-screen is named Dr. Gaster. The details are complicated, but to make a long story short, he died in a way that scattered his body across time. Because of this, he was separated from his family. In fact, he was forgotten by everyone except his oldest son and his best friend."

Ruby didn't know why, but that explanation reminded her of Summer.

Frisk tried to escape by RESETing, but the Menu was covered in an icky paint-like goop.

"I'm afraid I cannot allow you to do that. I have been waiting so long for this opportunity. I only need to kill you once, right?" Gaster raised his goopy arms up, causing spikes of void to shoot up from the ground and down from the ceiling.

Frisk tried running back to the gray door, only to see it forced shut by void tentacles. And if THAT wasn't bad enough, a blaster suspiciously similar to Sans's blasters charged up and fired at Frisk.

"Oh, no!" Ruby exclaimed.

"Wait, isn't that one of Sans's blasters?" Weiss asked. The others looked closely and saw that it WAS indeed the same attack.

"Well, of course he has that attack. It IS called a Gaster Blaster after all."

"And you never thought it prudent to tell us this?" Blake asked.

Just before the attack landed, Sans jumped in and deflected it with a bone attack.

"Wait, how did Sans get there?" Ruby asked.

"He took a shortcut."

The girls knew that the figure was keeping vital information from them, but continued watching anyway.

"we'll chat later, let's get out of here." Sans says as he tries to activate a shortcut. But...it failed.

"'Why can't I shortcut', right? You're stuck in here with me." Gaster explains.

Sans looks back at the gray door and gets an idea. He eradicated it with a Gaster Blaster. (Along with a pink butterfly)

"NO! BUTTERFLY!" Ruby screamed.

From the hole Sans's Blaster made, Gaster exits the Void and regains his physical form. His eyes start to glow, left glowing cyan and right glowing red.

"uh, kid. i don't want to alarm you, but i really can't beat this guy." Sans says, plastering a worried look onto Frisk's face.

"So, you remember what i'm capable of. There's no way to win and you know it." Gaster reminds Sans.

"Are you kidding me!? We saw what Sans did in the first episode!" Yang said, rather loudly.

"But Gaster is superior in every way. Think of it like this: Who would win? A baby, or a giant Grimm?"

"The power gap between them is THAT severe?" Blake asks.

"You have no idea."

Just then, Sans remembers what happened in Megalomanic. "hey, do you remember the last timeline?"

Frisk catches on and summons their Soul. "let's do it." Sans says while holding out his arm. Unfortunately, Gaster was quicker.

"SANS!" Everyone cried.

Frisk tried to run to their friend, but found their body and Soul captured by Gaster.

"I'll take this if you don't mind." Gaster said.

'Now I see the family resemblance.'

Frisk's Soul was shrouded in darkness as it was being absorbed.

"But it refused."

Frisk's Soul shot from Gaster's hold like a cannonball and straight into Sans's grasp.

"HOW THE FU-" Yang screamed.

"What part of DETERMINATION do you not understand?"

"Are you telling us that Frisk is determined enough to break the laws of life and death?!" Weiss asked.

"Yup."

The room is illuminated in white light before Sans appears, both eyes glowing cyan. "hehe...good job, kid. ya had me 'dead worried' there"

"SANS!" Ruby screamed.

"I like this guy." Yang said with a grin.

Gaster summons seven skeletal hands before using Monotone to blast Sans with a beam of red energy.

And, in true Sans style, he dodges effortlessly before attacking with bones. Gaster uses his Yellow Chroma to eliminate them and try to hit Sans.

The blue-eyed boy managed to get behind the hand and destroy it with a bone.

"Yeah! Get 'em Sans!" Ruby cheered.

Sans then attacks with a Gaster Blaster, only for it to be blocked by Gaster's Green Chroma. Gaster proceeds to use the same attack to try and crush Sans in a green bubble.

Being the crafty bastard he was, Sans broke the bubble with two bones.

Gaster tries using his Blue and Cyan Chromas to win, but it goes as everyone expects.

Cyan strings entangle Sans, preventing him from moving at all. But, seeing the sawblades flying through the air, Sans tries a risky move. He positions his hands so they're in the flight path of the blades, and has them cut the strings. He then uses two Gaster Blasters to destroy the Blue and Cyan Chromas.

"Is he TRYING to get himself killed!?" Weiss screams.

"You underestimate this idiot. He's better at dodging than Blake when people ask her questions about her past."

"Hey!" Blake said in outrage.

Gaster uses his Orange Chroma to spawn small bombs around Sans, who dodges once again. He even stole a bomb before it detonated just so he could drop it on the Orange Chroma.

"I'd remember that strategy if I were you, Ruby."

The destruction of five Chromas exacerbated the crack in his head. "It appears i'm reaching my limit. But I won't give up easily. I will come back!" Gaster activates his Purple Chroma just before Sans attacks with a Gaster Blaster. Surprising the punster, the Chroma mirrored the blast. Experimenting, Sans tried casting a few bone attacks, which were mirrored as well.

Finally catching on, Sans summons a circle of Gaster Blasters, which the Purple Chroma failed to mirror.

The cracks in Gaster's face get more severe now that only one Chroma remains. "You can't understand how this feels. To be alone..." Gaster uses his Red Chroma to blast Sans, who dodges without trying.

'I've been alone.'

"To be helpless!" Two Gaster Blasters shoot beams of energy at Sans.

'I've been helpless.'

"ABANDONED!" A large Gaster Blaster launches a full power attack at Sans.

'I've been abandoned.'

"FORGOTTEN!" Five giant Gaster Blasters attack Sans with every ounce of magic Gaster had.

Dead. Silence.

Gaster's final Chroma shatters from overexertion. Sans walks up to him with a solemn look on his face. "I just want to come back." Gaster said, his eyes no longer glowing.

"hurting people isn't the way, g." Sans pleads.

"I'll use ANY means necessary!" Gaster says as a void tendril shoots toward the back of Sans's head.

The screen blacks out as the sound of flesh being punctured resounds through the room.

"Sans!" Ruby said, tears forming in her eyes.

The picture comes back as it shows Sans completely unharmed. And two bones protruding from Gaster's chest. "sorry."

Sans summons the RESET button. "hey kid...after this RESET, take your time in the ruins. i gotta do something quick."

"Even if the timeline was restarted, it's always a shame if you have to kill a friend." An image of Jaune standing over Penny echoes through the figure's mind.

"Wait, they were friends?" Blake asked.

"Watch this. It'll give you all the information you need."

don't forget

The scene cuts to Sans in his lab. He opens a drawer and takes out a picture of himself and Gaster. On the picture was a message: "don't forget".

"i'd never forget you, dad. i'll find a way to bring you back...without killing anyone."

The girls's eyes were now wide as plates.

"What'd you girls think?"

R: "I liked the teamwork between Sans and Frisk."

W: "I think Sans could've beaten Gaster without being so reckless."

B: "I can't believe anyone had to go through something like that."

Y: "I'd like to meet Sans if he were real. Not often I meet someone who appreciates puns as much as me."
