(CHAPTER 1 The Accident)
"Yes Mom I am on my way, " Olivia answered as she open her car door stuffing all the shopping bags in the back seat.
"Get home soon ok Liv you know your Dad doesn't like you being late. Especially today of all days," Emma Olivia's mother said although she muttered the last part hoping her daughter didn't hear what she said.
"I know mom I promise I'll be there in a hour's time. Bye love you," Olivia promised reassuringly while strapping in her seat belt. She obviously heard what her mom just mumbled but decided to ignore it. Clearly she knows that her parents are hiding something because they always seem to "plan" their annual family bonding dinner (As they like to call it , by they she means her mom) coincidentally on every full moon. She's not dumb but she's not a snooper as well . She will wait like the calm and mature adult that she is (or at least she hopes she is ) and wait for her parents to come clean and tell her the real reason for this "annual family bonding dinner".
She turned on the radio which was playing Thriller by
Michael Jackson and started her car and began to drive off to her parents house while singing along with the lyrics. Olivia moved out of her childhood home as soon as she turned 18 . She lived in a dorm throughout college on scholarship while working as a barista in a cafe establishment near by saving up to buy an apartment later. Don't get her wrong her parents are pretty rich, her dad being a successful doctor and her mom being a popular fashion designer who owned several boutiques. They were more than willing to buy her an apartment but she wanted to buy it with her own hard earned money . It was bad enough that they paid half the money for her car. She finally brought her own apartment after graduating college. It was as small 1 BHK apartment. It was not perfect but it was hers. The only problem with it is that it's an 2 hour drive from her apartment to her parents house. Yes you hear that right an 2 hour drive and she being idiot that she is promised her mom that she will be there for their dinner in an hour. Thus She decided to take a short cut though the forest as she was kinda running a little (a lot) late.
"Mom is going to be so pissed that I am late. Anyways why is it so dark here today? Was it always this dark?. Where have all the street lights gone? ," Olivia mumbled to herself as she drived through the dark forest which looked too dark and a little more creepy than usual. It gave her the chills.
She turned up the radio that had now switch songs to Somebody's watching me by Rockwell which was way to perfect to describe the situation she was in right now and how she was feeling at this moment.
"What's up with all these songs it's not even Halloween it's like June right now", just as Olivia was about to continue rambling to herself her phone rang. She would have stopped her car at the side of the uneven roads she was driving on like she normally would but she was too damn late for a pit stop and the surrounding looked like it was a set of some crappy horror movie and today is not the day where she would want to be killed by some wannabe Jason Todd who was creeping in the woods waiting for his next victim. So like any sensible person would she decided to ignore her phone the first as well as the second time it rang but she could not stop herself from picking it up the third time . What if it was some type an emergency.
She balanced her phone on her shoulder and answers sounding a little unsure, "Hello?"
"Hey Liv guess what," Said Ava, Olivia's best friend since she was 9. Ava and Olivia couldn't be any more different from each other. Ava was always extremely energetic and enthusiastic all the time. You can say that she is high on life and well Olivia...lets just say that she not.
"What?," Olivia uttered clearly seeing where this conversation was heading.
"Did you know that there is a party this Saturday night", Ava expressed with excitement, too much excitement for Olivia liking.
"No but you are going to tell me anyway", Olivia said uninterested in this conversation.
"Don't you sound enthusiastic", Ava said sarcastically while rolling her eyes at her BFF obviously uninterested tone.
"Anyways Jacob just invited you and me to the party at his lake house on Saturday. He wants you to be there", Ava confessed.
" Yeah Jacob... So sorry Ava I don't think I can make it. I have plans for the weekend end and I cannot cancel them last minute", Olivia apologized. Technically she didn't lie napping in her comfy bed and watching Netflix's all day is still a plan, right? . Not that she the one to refuse a good party but Jacob creeps the hell out of her. He always seems to stare at her whenever they are in the same room. He might be hot but he was a still creep and Olivia has absolutely no interest in dating him which he clearly did.
"By plans do you mean laying in bed all day", Ava answered totally seeing through her white lie.
"What? I can't hear you...Hello...Your voice keep breaking... Looks like the sign is lost... Hello... Can you hear me?... Hello... ", Olivia hung up not want to continue this conversation cause she knows that Ava won't take a no for an answer. Which is she was already regretting because the woods got even more creepy which she thought was not even possible. At least the conversation was distracting her for the situation she was in.
"I shouldn't have taken this route", Olivia admitted to herself hoping she reaches home already.
As she was driving she noticed a figure ahead of her car it looked like some kind of animal (a wolf?) but it's eyes they were so beautiful something like she has never seen before. Those soulful eyes that looked they were purple in colour. As she was hypnotized with those eyes she didn't realize that she was about to crash into the animal . Just as she was about to run it with her car she gets out of whatever trance she was in and turns her car just in time to miss hitting the it.
"What the hell was that," Olivia thought out loud trying to calm her beating heart and get her car back on track. She decided to look into her car mirror one last time to check out what or who she was about to crash into. As she turned the head to the side to look the animal seemed to have turn to as well and seemed to be looking right at her. Distracted by the situation she was currently in, she didn't notice the huge truck that was about to crash with her car (there were no other vehicles on this road where did the truck came from? ) Noticing the truck Olivia turned her steering wheel to dodge the truck. She was successful in dodging the truck but not the tree. She ran straight in a huge tree at the side of the road. There was a lot of blood and broken glass pieces everywhere. She was bleeding and about to lose consciousness. The last thing she remembers was those purple eyes that she had seen before fainting.
(A/N: So that was the first chapter. This idea had popped up in heard a long time ago so I finally decided to write it. Let me know if you guys like it. )
