Bugs hesitated only a split-second before making a decision. "Hold him a minute." He said and passed Baby Elmer to Babs.
"What am I meant to do with-!?" Babs panicked, she looked at the door to see Bugs had gone."-And he's gone. Buster! What am I meant to do with him!?"
"Erm..." Buster folded his arms. "I dunno. Put him down for a nap?"
Babs gave him a look. "You want to me to put my own dad down for a nap?"
"Well, you come up with something!" The blue bunny snapped.
Whether it was the fact Buster was yelling or just the tone of his voice, their dad response was to burst into tears. Babs - startled - fumbled with him in her arms and almost dropped him. "Geez Louise! Wha'do I do!?"
"I dunno! Cuddle him or something!"
Babs nodded and brought baby Elmer closer to her. He screamed louder and Babs instantly held him out again. "I don't think he likes it!"
"I tell you what, you are going to ace childcare." Buster snarked.
Babs's pupils turned into daggers and her adopted brother wisely back off. Then - much to both of theirs's surprises - Elmyra swooped in, plucking Elmer out of Babs's arms and cuddling him while soothing him.
"There, there...who's a good daddy-waddy? You are!"
"He's been turned into a baby, not Lassie." Babs said, shaking her arms like she had slime on them or something.
Elmyra ignored her and jiggled Elmer in her arms in the manner she'd seen proper mothers do. Amazingly it seemed to work and Elmer's crying quietened.
"This is the weirdest thing I've ever seen." Buster muttered to Babs. "And I witnessed Fift chasing Furrball down the side of the sun."
There was a beat, then Babs clarified. "The si-"
"-Side of the sun, yes. Hey, I said it was weird."
Just then Bugs came back looking about ten times more stressed. He told them how he'd phoned Witch Hazel and demanded she turn Elmer back. "And she said the potion should last a day. Which means we have to look after him until then and make sure he doesn't get into any trouble."
"Well, hopefully that won't be difficult, like." Babs pointed out, nodding at Elmyra. "Mary Psycho here managed to actually get him to sleep."
Bugs smiled at the cute sight, then whispered to his kids. "Okay, let's try an' be quiet and maybe he'll just sleep da 24 hours away an' we won't actually have to do anything-"
*Bang!* The front door slammer open and a familiar voice called out.
"Oh Bugsthy! Bugsthy pal!"
Cue Elmer crying.
Bugs face-palmed and muttered. "Oh broither..."

Once Daffy had had it explained to him five times that the tiny baby he saw in front of him was, in fact, his immediate younger brother, he looked at Bugs and snarked. "Oh, don't tell me Warner Brothers are re-booting Baby Looney Tunes. I HATED that show, it messed with my head-!"
"No, trust me this is nothing to do with Warner Brothers-" Bugs briefly paused to look at the reader, before turning back to Daffy and continuing. "-It's Witch Hazel and her crazy potions."
"Stho what do we do with him?"
"Eh...jus' look after him, Oi guess?"
"That'sth not much of a plot, isth it?"
Bugs threw his hands up in the air. "Don't blame me! Oi don't write da scripts, Oi jus' act in em!"
"Can someone take him off me, he's heavy." Elmyra whined.
Daffy swanned over and plucked Elmer out of the young girls hands. "Oi'll look after him. Oi'm good with kids."
Buster shared a look with Babs and went to open his mouth, but a stern look from Bugs stopped him going any further.
*Ring!*
The doorbell went and Bugs answered it. A weasel photographer was standing on his doorstep with an old fashioned 70's camera. Before Bugs could say anything the weasel ran into the house, took a picture of Daffy and Elmer - both looking startled - then ran out the house again.
Bugs reached into his hammerspace and pulled out a bow and arrow. He fired the arrows in the direction of the weasel and hollered after him. "An' stay out, ya weasel!" Slamming the door shut he flounced back into his kitchen and looked at Daffy.
"Ya know, somehow Oi think dat's gonna end up bein' relavent, like." He said.
