AN: So here's chapter two, I have a general direction as to where I want to go, but I am open to ideas! After another chapter or two I'll probably jump to a few years later. As always I only own the OC characters and all reviews are welcome.
Months passed and Ophelia's relationship with her mother in particular remained extremely strained. She refused to go home for the holidays and stayed at the castle with Tom. They spent most of their time in the room of requirement duelling, learning, and loving each other. Slowly, Tom had started to share his vision for the wizarding world, and while Ophelia didn't quite understand his hatred for muggles, she chalked it up to his upbringing in an orphanage.
"Tom we can't, not here." Ophelia cried out as Tom tried to shed her button down in her mother's classroom.
"Why not, it's the thrill that makes this fun, you said that yourself." Tom said pulling back from her lips, but holding on to her shirt.
"But Tooommm, you know my mother, she notices even if a single paper is out of place, and you never know when she might make her way back, she's due back any minute" Ophelia cried as he started to kiss her neck.
"Just relax and trust me." he said brown eyes looking into perfectly hazel ones. And just like that she let go.
Tom had just placed Ophelia on the desk when they heard footsteps coming their way. Before they had time to gather themselves and hide, the oak doors of the room were pushed open, and there stood one Minerva Mcgonagall, hand on her chest looking shocked.
Quickly regaining her composure she shouted "Ophelia what are you doing in here this late, looking like that" it was fear that Ophelia sensed in her mother's voice. Confusion took over the teen and she looked next to her, noticing that Tom wasn't there and that she looked disheveled. She smirked to herself, on one hand applauding Tom's ability to get away and on the other cursing herself for not being as clever. As she turned to face her mother, she watched the fear turned to anger as Minerva looked her up and down. Ophelia followed her mother's gaze and realized in their haste, she had accidentally put on Tom's slytherin tie. Mentally she slapped herself for being so stupid.
"You seem to be perfectly fine, but need I remind you that wearing the uniform of a different house is against the rules?" Minerva stated raising an eyebrow.
"Of course not Professor" Ophelia replied, emphasizing the word professor.
Cringing at her words, Minerva simply said "Well then 50 points will be taken from Gryffindor and you shall report to the headmaster immediately where you can explain what you were doing breaking into a professor's office."
Putting her hair up, Ophelia moved towards the door. Once she reached it, Ophelia turned back and looked at her mother, "you know, that professor, used to be my mum." she said before walking away.
After hearing those words, tears began to fall down the stern transfiguration professor's face. Minerva took a seat at her desk and let out a sigh, wondering how things could have gone so wrong.
On the other side of the castle, Ophelia said the password to her dad's office "Silver Tabby." She sulked on her way up the staircase, mentally preparing herself for the lecture that was guaranteed to come. At the top of the staircase, Ophelia moved forward to knock, but before she could the door swung open.
"Come in Ophelia" came her father's voice. Obeying she walked in, tucking in Riddle's tie into her skirt pocket.
"Hi dad" she said sitting across from him at his desk and of course plopping a lemon drop in her mouth
"How were your holidays here? We missed you at home, especially Malcolm and Matthew" Dumbledore stated casually.
"Dad" she groaned, "please just get to the point. My holidays were fine and I would have loved to come home if you would have allowed Tom to come as well! We're quite serious now." Ophelia replied.
"I see" Dumbledore seemed to pause in order to absorb the information he was receiving. "Well then, why don't you and join us for dinner on Saturday, I'm sure I can convince the headmaster to let the two of you slip out for the evening." he said with a twinkling in his eyes.
Ophelia raised an eyebrow and looked at her father intently, "are you serious? What about mum, there is no way she will agree to that, she hates Tom."
"Let me worry about that, and she does not hate him. She is merely protective over you because she cares. We all do."
"Fine we'll do dinner, but if anyone says anything antagonistic towards Tom, we will leave." Ophelia said getting up from the chair to leave. She had barely taken two steps when her father called out, "Miss Dumbledore we still have to discuss what you were doing in Professor Mcgonagall's office without permission." Ophelia groaned, but sat back down comfortably, it was going to be a long night.
