Chapter 1:

The wind was howling around Skarlet, as she fell faster and faster down the hole she was smashed into, looking up and seeing the small amount of light getting smaller and smaller, as she asked herself in her thoughts, "What is a hole this deep even doing inside this house?"

However before she could even think of anything else, she made an impact on whatever was on the bottom of this hole, and then everything went black.

Within the darkness, Skarlet felt her pain fade away, as a surprisingly aggressive voice shouted at her, "Hey! You! Asshole! Wake the fuck up and quit being a lazy slob!"

Skarlet soon asked this voice, "Wh-What? Who are you? Are you supposed to be god?"

The voice soon responded saying, "Wha-NO!!!!! Well I mean...TECHNICALLY, but there's more than just one!"

This led to Skarlet soon opening her eyes, she was in a room filled with bright lights and clouds floating everywhere, and she laid in a strange looking pool, and across from her was a very angry looking man dressed in mostly black armor, with some orange cloth covering other areas, as well as having orange hair and burning red eyes.

This man then said, "Are you FINALLY up and gonna get outta my pool now?! Or are you gonna keep corrupting this water with your mortal filth?!"

Skarlet was about to answer him, but before she could, another, more gentle voice ended up saying, "Oh come on now brother, that is no way to speak to a guest, especially since we don't get any guests...like at all. I feel that this one's special."

The voice that was more calm came from another man who wore mostly golden armor and had some yellow cloth and blonde hair with golden eyes.

Skarlet soon finally managed to get some words in and finally said, "Wait a moment...s-so you're telling me that you two are supposed to be gods or something? Like the ones who made Teratora to keep us mortals safe from the horrors outside of town?"

The god in the golden armor facepalmed and then said, "My older brother didn't introduce us at all did he? Well in that case I'm Raiku the god of thunder and lightning, and my brother over there is Honokai, the god of flames and chaos."

Skarlet nodded, acknowledging that she remembered their names, and then said, "So...was there a special reason I was brought here...all I remember was falling down a hole...after that big bandit guy smashed me through the floor...and I fell so far...am I dead?"

Raiku chuckled a little bit and said, "Well no, you're not dead quite yet...something seems to have stopped you from that fate...something divine I think. However that one bandit you speak of. His name...I think it was Balroth...the one Devil who disguised himself as a human in order to infiltrate Teratora for a chance at power...I guess my seal didn't last forever after all oh dear.", Raiku chuckled a little to himself.

Skarlet looked a little more worried, before saying, "B-Balroth? The bringer of the end times? We've had that prophecy for thousands of years! Why is it happening now?!"

Honokai finally spoke once again as he said, "I mean prophecies usually do come into effect after that many years, what? You think that Balroth would just leave Teratora all alone after being granted another shot at the power to kill Sozodan? The god of creation? Nah, he HATES Sozo so much that he will never stop."

Raiku was rubbing his temples a little bit before saying, "It also doesn't help that by allowing Balroth to get this deep into Teratora, Sozodan will be in such a bad mood that he will want to punish all mortals for allowing this, and he'll probably try to kill all of Teratora just to make some new mortals that'll do a better job. Not blaming you guys or anything, it's just how Sozodan works...he's a little...odd."

Skarlet was now sweating from how worried she was, not even noticing the faint red glow coming from her body, as she said, "So...me being special and all...I guess this sorta means that I've gotta be the one to somehow hold off this Sozodan…and Balroth...maybe even defeat him, and then save the world?"

Raiku and Honokai laughed their asses off at Skarlet when she said that, as Raiku said, "I like your spirit! Hell maybe you could take them out! Also about that divinity, I will give you a small test...if you survive...well I guess that means you've got some divinity within you...at least half, but if you die...well I guess you had no chance of survival to begin with and we'll make sure your soul reaches heaven."

After hearing that, Skarlet looked a little concerned for a moment, but then heard those options, and finally said, "Well...if I'm gonna die anyways, I might as well take the shot and see if I can save the world huh?", Skarlet gave them a cheery smile.

Both Honokai and Raiku gave her a bit of a proud smile as they stood next to each other, and aimed their hands at her, and then said, "Even if you do survive this, it'll hurt...A LOT.If you aren't a true full bred god."

After Skarlet heard this she then asked them, "Wait wha-", but before she even got an answer, a strange power exploded from each of the God's hands, and shot straight through Skarlet, as Skarlet fell to the floor holding her chest as she said, "Jesus fucking fuck stick that hurt!"

The gods were surprised by what just happened, as Raiku said, "Amazing...the only way you could've survived that is if you had true divinity within you...however it actually never hurts us true gods...so you must be some sort of Demi god or something. But due to your lack of powers, I'd say you must be some sort of vessel Demi god, a true hero. Although that power can only be useful after gaining the blessings of other gods, but considering the dangers your world faces...I guess me and Honokai here can give you our blessings...I assume swords would be your preferred way of this since you seem to be a dual wielder right?"

Skarlet nodded, but stayed silent as she pulled out two broken sword hilts, which were the swords she used earlier.

Honokai sighed before walking up to Skarlet with Raiku, and then each of them touched one of Skarlet's hilts, and then they both said in sync, "With the power of Fire and Lightning, may you vanquish any foe in your wake. I give you my blessing for as long as it takes to finish your quest. Do not fail us!"

After that both of the gods turned into energy, and shot into the swords, as they formed into a fire themed sword and a lightning themed sword, as Skarlet felt a sudden surge of power rush through her, and her entire vision went white before it faded to black again.
