Chapter Two

Honey Delivery

I quickly showered, got dressed and made it down the stairs in time for breakfast. Thank god that I gathered everything I needed for the honey run and school the night before! My Dad was sitting at the table reading the newspaper "Anything interesting?" I asked him as he was about to take a sip of his coffee. "Nope, although it would be great if we had some decent news these days son! Even if it is unusual!" my Dad answered, I smiled at him and knew that anything is possible if you just believe in it. Then suddenly the doorbell rang! I was busy forcing myself to eat a piece of toast while Dad got up to answer the door. It was Phoebe! She had come to help me on today's honey run. My Dad had let her in lead her into the kitchen where I was just chewing on the last piece of toast. "Good Morning Tim!" Phoebe said in a sweet kind way, I managed to say Good Morning back, but I still had food in my mouth. Phoebe smiled and giggled "Careful Tim! Don't want you to choke!", I had finished eating finally and answered her back "All good, are you ready to go?". She smiled and nodded "Awesome, lets load the trailer so we can attach it to our bikes and start doing the rounds" I said to Phoebe "Tim, I cannot believe you are still doing this these deliveries, I do have to say I am impressed!" Phoebe acknowledged. I smiled as she said that it really meant a lot and I really did appreciate that she volunteered to help me this morning.

Phoebe and I headed out to the garage where my bike was kept along with the trailer for the jars of honey. Dad and I had already loaded it up the night before. I opened the garage door and saw the Phoebe had parked her bike outside in the driveway. "Bye Son! Good Luck" I heard my Dad say as Phoebe and I trailed the trailer and my bike outside to attach to Phoebe's bike. I shouted a thank you and a goodbye back to him and then we both left my house around about 7:30am starting with the house 3 doors down. It was the house of a nice old lady by the name of Mrs Oliver who just adored our honey. Mrs Oliver was a tallish lady, with white, pale wrinkled skin and silver hair. She always wore heaps of bulky jewelry and always wearing her fancy red glasses. Mrs Oliver would sometimes often in return give us not just money but also candy which was very generous of her. Today that was not the case just the money of payment but Phoebe and I didn't mind "You young ones be careful today" she said as we were getting back on our bikes but then her large pearl like earrings started to glow. Phoebe and I both looked at each other and gasped, were we just seeing things or did those earrings really light up? Our first thought was, was she somehow related to the Frizzle family? Phoebe said to me she has never met anyone with earrings that light up suddenly other then Professor Frizzle (how she now refers herself as, now that she has a PHD). She and i left Mrs Oliver's house in a rush after being a little spooked about what just happened. I don't we peddled so quickly on our bikes "Come on Phoebe, we still have 4 more runs to do before we have to get to school" i yelled to her. "No problems Tim" Phoebe yelled back while cycling behind me with a smile on her face.

As time flew by Phoebe and i were on to our last delivery. It was a house just a few blocks from our old school Walkerville Elementary. When we arrived at the house we knocked on the door and there was no answer "Let's leave the jar of honey on the door step Tim, somewhere we the owner of the house will find it" Phoebe was telling me. I agreed and i placed the jar beside a pot plant with vibrant looking flowers "What beautiful flowers" Phoebe said, i answered back "Yeah they are, we better go we cannot stay looking at flowers all day". We got back on our bikes once again. Lucky this time the trailer we were pulling was a lot lighter as all the jars were gone. As we started to cycle back home we started to pass Walkerville Elementary "Hey Tim, there's our old school, remember all the fun we had with Arnold, Dorothy-Ann, Carlos, Ralphie, Wanda and Keesha? It hasn't changed one bit" Phoebe said. I smiled and agreed "I wonder if Ms Frizzle is still teaching there". I told Phoebe that Professor Frizzle has a sister Ms Fiona Frizzle who came and took over from her when Phoebe had gone back to her old school. "Oh yeah, i do remember you telling me, wouldn't it be cool if i can meet her right now?" she asked, i looked at her and smiled "I'm sure she would like that". Then suddenly we heard a big bang which sounded like it was coming from the school. Both Phoebe and i look at each other "I wonder what happened, that didn't sound good" Phoebe asked "I don't know" i responded to her "Shall we check it out?.

By this stage nothing seemed to come across as usual to us, although the old thing hear and there does tend to make us uncomfortable. We dismounted out bikes and chained them up at the bike racks outside the school. We then could then hear buzzing sounds like a swarm of bees where heading towards as. Phoebe and i started to run but found that we were not being chased however the buzzing sounds were getting louder. "I feel something is wrong Tim, lets check it out" Pheobe said as she started to turn back "Are you nuts?" i asked her. She didn't respond, so i decided to follow her and but my fears to a side and become brave. As we got closer the buzzing sound get even louder. We eventually come across a classroom window where all we could see were bright lights flashing and magic like sparkles going everywhere. "This must be Ms Frizzle's classroom" i thought in my head. Then i turned to Phoebe who was now next to me staring with amazement at the performance that was happening "Ah, do you remember seeing the bus in the parking lot" i asked her.
