Chapter 2: thunderstorm
The Bennett triplets woke up at home.
In their 6 year old bodies.
Playing together in the living room. When Bonnie starts screaming and gripping her head in pain.
"No please! they can't be dead! No, I don't want to watch this anymore!"
Grams ran into the room. Before she could question what was going on.
Emily felt an extreme sense of pain, she started hyperventilating and gripping her chest in was very wrong. In her gut she knew it had to do with her mother and father.
It felt like a part of Emily's soul had been ripped apart. Then it was like she couldn't sense her parents energy at all.
Daphne looked up at Grams. Tears in her eyes, shaking her head, trying to cover her ears.
"I can hear her Grams, Mommy's in so much pain. Daddy is dead. S-she said she did it though she stopped the Original Slayer Mikael. But mommy, daddy and the Original Vampire Finn are dying,"
Grams stared at her in horror. Daphne speech was never this clear and descriptive. Even if she did have the highest reading and writing level in her grade.
Grams realized that their powers had manifested early even for a gift witch whose age is 10 years old.
They were 6 years old.
And their father was dead and their mother was dying. Grams could do nothing to help her own daughter.
"Mommy says she loves us, be strong for each other, she needs you, Grams to grant her dying wish with her last bit of magic-"
Daphne shut her mouth quickly and her eyes widened with fear. She looked at Bonnie and Emily recovering from the pain and horror show. They huddle together cause they knew what was going to happen.
They looked at their Grams.
"Please don't do this to us Grams," Daphne said in despair.
"Don't force us to forget," Emily shouted in frustration.
"How can you be okay with erasing our memory and locking our magic away from us," Bonnie cried.
"I'm so sorry my sweet baby girls, this is your mother's dying wish and I'm not going to deny," Grams said with tears in her eyes.
Emily, Daphne and Bonnie woke up to their Aunt Lucy and Grams arguing.
The Dean's office looked normal and clean. Like extremely clean to the point it looked like it was a new office.
That confused the girls.
They noticed there where the jewelry box was an old journal, grimoire, and a familiar looking orange amulet.
So familiar that Emily Bennett knew it belonged to her. After a moment all three Bennett sisters sat up.
Silence.
Their Aunt Lucy and Grams turned to them.
"I told you that you can't keep their magic sealed away forever," Lucy stated.
"It was your sister's dying wish, I was not going to refuse her that bit of peace," Grams replied.
"How could you?" Bonnie spat, fire in her eyes.
Emily shook her head. "It didn't seal away all our power anyway"
Grams eyes widened in surprise. "That's terrifying, the fact that the seal was powered on the dying breathe of your mom and my magic -"
Lucy rolled her eyes. "Really it's more amazing than terrifying if you ask me. They're triplets with magic so potent and with training could be more powerful than the first witch who was rumored to be a Bennett and our direct ancestor"
"Lucy," Grams warned when she noticed her granddaughters faces go pale.
"Wow, I really wasn't expecting for all this crazy magical shit to happen today" Daphne sighed.
"I need a drink," Daphne added. And her two sisters agreed.
Grams nodded getting a bottle of rum and coca cola out of the bottom of her draw. She started looking for extra glasses.
Lucy chuckled then handed the girls each a small bottle of whiskey out of her purse.
The girls share a look.
"Bottoms up Bennetts," Lucy winked then drank her shot of whiskey.
Grams looked back at them just as she finally found two more had already finished the shots of whiskey.
Grams smiled and shook her head. Putting the bottle rum and coca cola back in the bottle of draw.
"It's best if you ladies have a seat, I have a lot to explain to you" Grams suggested.
Lucy mumbled something in latin. Daphne looked up at her.
"Was that a silence spell?" Daphne question.
Lucy looked at her with surprise and a bit of pride. "Yeah, how could you tell?"
Daphne shrugged. "I'm a of a language buff, but I'm fluent in Spanish and Italian"
"Plus I learned a little of Latin, the only familiar word I was silence,"
Lucy nodded. "Self-taught?"
Daphne laughed and nodded. "Definitely, You can't learn this shit in school"
Grams cleared her throat, grabbing Lucy and Daphne attention to her.
"First let me explain what happened to you to you girls,"
Grams sighed and placed the journal in front of Bonnie, the grimoire in front of Daphne and the amulet in front of Emily.
"The jewelry box that was on my desk belonged to your mother, I buried it with her,"
"This morning it appeared on my desk" Grams took a deep breath before continuing.
"your Aunt Lucy called me told me she heard your mother's voice whisper to her and that she's in town right now"
So many questions ran through the Bennett sisters minds. First, they wanted to hear everything their Grams had to say before asking questions.
"I didn't know you girls were coming to my office today otherwise I would've took the jewelry box with me to pick up your aunt,"
"I would've saved this conversation for later tonight, but nothing always goes according to plan,"
"The items in front you belong to you, Emily that amulet is from your past self"
Before Emily could ask anything. Grams added "That's all I can tell you, you have figure out the rest on your own otherwise your past self life, lessons, experience will be lost"
Emily nodded and began to stare at the orange amulet. Grams gently patted Emily's hand in comfort.
"Your Aunt and I are here to support and guide you girls to access your magic and so much more"
"You are not alone in this and I'm positive your mother is watching over you girls," Lucy smiled.
The Bennett sisters nodded and squeezed each other's hands in comfort.
"Daphne that grimoire was written by your future self, it's holds spells, potions and other things I can't derive but I know you can"
Daphne nodded just glancing at the grimoire. Trying her best not to ask how and why her future self sent this back in time. She knew her Grams couldn't give her the answer.
"Bonnie that journal was your mom's vision journal when she was pregnant,"
" It's spelled so I have no idea what visions she had but she told me while she was pregnant if any of you girls have the power of clairvoyance she was going to give it to you" Grams informed her with a smile.
"I knew what was in the jewelry box before your mother locked it, because that grimoire and amulet didn't appear until you girls were born,"
Bonnie couldn't take it anymore; she had to ask their Grams questions. "Why did it only appear after we were born? Why did the jewelry box appear to us now? I just don't understand,"
Grams shook her head. "Divine timing most likely, I can't explain it any better than that"
Lucy chuckled. "You might get a better answer from your mother spirit"
Grams glared at her. "They are not ready for that, Lucy"
Lucy shrugged. "Better to throw them into the pool so they learn to swim on their own, then to try and coodle them into getting off the pool stairs,"
Grams laughed. "I guess,"
"Wait, that was the way we learned how to swim, it was with aunt Lucy and mom," Emily mentioned.
Lucy smiled at the memory. "Yeah better us than your father he wanted to take you guys out into the ocean, he hated pools,"
The Bennett women all laugh at that.
"I miss them," Daphne added sadly. Her sisters nodded in agreement.
"I know, we do too," Grams replied. Lucy nodded in agreement.
"So what do we need to learn first?" Bonnie began.
After leaving their Grams Office, the Bennett sisters realized it was late afternoon and they're phones all had missing messages and calls from their friends.
They texted their friends to meet them at their house.
Grams had advised them to be careful with who they share this secret with.
The Bennett sisters all agreed that they're friends were more than trustworthy, they were their second family. And Grams couldn't help but smile and agree.
"Do you think Grams is still keeping secrets from us?" Daphne wondered.
"Of course," Bonnie shouted angrily.
Bonnie threw back another shot that Lucy had handed her before she left. She almost fell as she leaned against Daphne's car.
Emily shared a worried look at Daphne and helped Bonnie lay
down in the backseat.
Bonnie had twice as many shots as her sister when Grams had started explaining what they each individual needed to begin with.
Grams warned them their powers may expand rapidly or extremely slowly. Only time will tell.
All three girls needed to meditate daily at least 22 minutes to begin with.
That wasn't going to be hard for them; they already meditate about 12 minutes daily.
Grams explains to Bonnie that her strongest ability will probably be clairvoyance since that was the first ability to show up when she was a kid.
That was also their mother's strongest gift, to the point where she would have to wear spelled gloves to prevent her from seeing into a person's future she had shook hands with or hugged.
Bonnie looked worried when she mentioned that. And her sister didn't blame her for it. It already sounded like a lot.
The fact that Bonnie is a natural artist both physically and mentally. She's a dancer and painter. So the possibly that her vision will be vivid and she might be able to feel the sensation of the person in the vision.
It's kind of overwhelming.
So when her sisters helped her lay down in the backseat. Daphne played movie scores on her car bluetooth.
And Bonnie fell asleep thirty minutes into their drive home.
"So what are you going to do with the amulet?" Daphne question.
Emily held it in her hand. It felt like it was pulsing with energy, which it was.
"I don't know yet," Emily said.
Daphne nodded. "So what do you think we should tell our friends first?"
Emily thought about it. "Actually we probably shouldn't tell them anything until we can provide proof"
Daphne shook her head. "I don't agree, we let them know and if they don't believe us that fine but at least we told them"
Bonnie sat up as soon as we pulled into the driveway. "I'm with Daphne, I don't want to hide this from my boyfriend and our friends"
Emily hands her a bottle of water from her bag. Bonnie nodded and drank the water as they walked to the door.
Once they got settled in their house and Bonnie had ate some food and drank plenty of water. She felt sober and overwhelmed again.
Finally the doorbell rang, and their friends arrived one after another.
First it was Tyler, Vivian and Adrian Lockwood.
Then Caroline Forbes and Matt Donovan.
After that it was Liam and Anna Zhu.
Finally Elena and Jeremy Gilbert.
They all found a spot to sit at in their living room. With the Bennett sisters standing in front of them.
Bonnie sighed and looked at her sisters. They practiced what they were going to say and how they were going to explain it. Now it felt not good enough.
Daphne started. "What we're about to tell you may sound crazy and if you don't believe us we would understand"
Bonnie looked at her boyfriend Tyler. "We love you guys and we don't want to keep this a secret from any of you"
Emily smiled softly at Elena. "Before you are our lovers, you were our friends and chosen family"
Daphne nodded. Emily nodded. And Bonnie licked her lips before saying. "We're witches like real witches and our parents died killing a Original Slayer named Mikael"
Caroline, Liam and Anna all looked at each other.
"Holy shit, so that's what happened to the Original Slayer" Anna said.
"We have something to tell you guys too. We're guardians" Caroline revealed.
"Guardians are protectors of humans and supernatural both. We're humans with supernatural abilities like super strength, healing and speed" Liam explained.
The Bennett sisters were surprised by this and how well everyone is accepting the fact they are witches.
Tyler, Vivian and Adrian sighed and groaned.
"Since we're being honest, we're werewolves and come from a long line of werewolves both triggered and untrigged wolves," Vivian revealed.
Matt, Elena and Jeremy shrugged. " I can honestly say that I'm human and not happy right now" Matt said.
With that everyone laughed and for the next few hours they were closer than ever and explaining what they are and how they are dealing with it.
Later that night, they were out in the woods.
At a party hosted by Whitmore College football, there were the football team, cheerleaders, sororities and frats, and few others who overheard about the party.
Everyone was enjoying themselves.
Jeremy was a bit more tipsy than he thought when one of the frat guys that he'd been avoiding started flirting with him. And he began to flirt back.
"Hey, why don't we go somewhere a little more quiet," the frat guy suggested.
Jeremy looked around spotting his two friends Anna and Adrian by the keg stan. He then looked down at his red solo cup which was empty.
"No, you're really hot. But I think I'm going to go find my friends and sit down" Jeremy smiled drunkenly.
The frat guy smiled. "Come on, you probably need to sit down somewhere quiet,"
Jeremy shrugged. And looked at his friends who looked up and noticed him. The frat guy grabbed his hand and started leading Jeremy away from the party. Jeremy waved at Anna and Adrian and stumbled a bit.
"Listen, I don't think I should be going anywhere with you, I don't even know your name, dude"
The frat guy laughed. "It's Ben, and this my senior year. I want to start it off right"
Jeremy shook his head. "Oh and how are you going do that,"
Ben pushed Jeremy up against a tree before saying. "By fucking a cute freshman boy"
Ben crushed his lips into Jeremy shoving his tongue down his throat. Jeremy tried to shove him off but Ben just deepened the kiss and put his hands over his head.
When he finally let Jeremy breath, he felt disgusted. Ben started kissing his neck.
"Hey, I think I'm too drunk for this. I'm not fucking you," Jeremy said with a nervous laugh.
He really didn't know what he was supposed to do in this situation. He had a few girlfriends but even fewer boyfriends in high school. The reason why he had fewer boyfriends is because they thought he was a tease cause he never wanted to have sex. Same with his girlfriends.
Plus they couldn't stand the fact that he was bi.
Now in the situation he's thought maybe they were right to think he was tease.
"That's too bad, cause I want to fuck you," Ben grinned grabbing his hard dick and unzipping Jeremy pants.
Jeremy tried not to panic. "Listen, I'm not. I've never done this before and I rather it be romantic then in the middle of the woods with some nobody frat boy"
Ben's face went red and he punched Jeremy in the face and away from the tree. And kicked him in the ribs a couple of times.
"Your fucking tease and I ain't a nobody you little bitch," Ben spat.
A few footsteps started walking towards them and Jeremy hoped it was his friends.
It seems that Jeremy can never be that lucky cause as he turned and faced Ben it was some more frat guys.
"Damn Ben, try not to hostipalize this one," A redhead guy laughed. The other three laughed.
"What can I help you spatz with," Ben smirked.
"You got any stronger roofies, this little hot Asian girl just drunk a cup and a half of another cup of it, and still she's staying and talking to some Mexican dude," A gothic green haired guy said.
The redhead guy glared at the gothic dude. "You can't be saying shit like in the open especially not with Ben's little one night stand around"
Jeremy tried to get up, his head was pounding and his rib felt like it was broken.
"Don't worry about him, If he knows what good for him he won't say shit to anyone"
Jeremy was filled with panic but also anger. He hoped it wasn't Anna they were talking about but he also hoped it was.
Because she explained that sense they heal so fast drugs and alcohol don't really affect them unless they have a tremendous amount of it.
And if it was another Asian girl then he'd make sure these sick fuck don't get anywhere near her. and Jeremy would take her to the hospital as soon as possible.
Jeremy sucked in a deep breath and with one movement he got up and started sprinting towards the party.
But not before shouting "fuck you sick fucks"
Now the longer Jeremy ran the more he realized they were very far from the party. When he looked back to see if the frat guys were chasing after him.
They were but something both strange and amazing happened. The forest floor gave out from under them. Jeremy almost paused to catch his breath.
He ran into something hard and solid before he fell Jeremy felt someone grab him.
Jeremy looked up to see his best friend and childhood crush Adrian Lockwood staring down at him and on top of him.
"Oh shit are you guys okay?" Anna asked. Jeremy looked up behind Adrian to see Anna staying there.
Before Jeremy could answer he heard a group of terrifying screams and what sounded like the crushing of bones.
It came from where the frat guys had fallen.
Adrian helped Jeremy up as he got up.
"What the fuck was that?" Adrian asked.
"These rapist frat guys fell through the forest floor somehow," Jeremy tried to explain.
"That guy you walk off with, did he oh I'm going to kill him," Anna said angrily.
Jeremy looked down. "He didn't get that far before I pissed him off, he punched me and kicked me in the ribs,"
"Are you okay?" Adrian asked with worry in his eyes.
"Yeah for the moment, i think he broke one of my ribs and one of his frat guy friends tried to roffie some Asian girl, we need to find her and get her to the hospital,"
"That explains why I felt dizzy and my vision blurred, and Adrian had to help me sit down on the bench,"
Anna realized.
"Are you okay?" Jeremy asked.
"Just a bit tired and weak right now,"
"We should get you both to a hospital," Adrian suggested.
Something flashed between them and Adrian and Jeremy were thrown into the air nearly missing the hole the frats guys were in.
There in the hole the frats guys were bloody with broken bones.
They looked dead.
But they weren't yet.
There in the hole people were feeding on them.
No not people.
"Trying to leave so soon, We're just getting started and you're the main dish," A healthy white skinned man said. He had blood running down his chin.
This man was dressed in 60 century clothing.
This was very bad. Adrian, Jeremy and Anna realized.
These were fucking vampires.
