"Well." Tyler muttered as he grabbed onto an alley fence and picked himself up. Wiping the blood off his lips he took a second to catch his breath as he looked at the demons that were staring down at him. "Nothing like a concussion to get the blood flowing." He muttered before balling his fists for what had to be the fifth time today already.
"You don't know when to stay down do you." The first demon grinned as he looked at the bruised imp. "You're dumber than ya look."
"Maybe." Tyler coughed as got ready. "But hey you wanna back out I'll let ya go." Tyler smirked slightly. "Or you could stay, and we can go a few more rounds, your call." The others laughed at him.
"You're barely standing kiddo, you sure you wanna go another round?"
"I can do this all day." The others came at him again, and Tyler kept his word. He lasted the next round, then the one after that, and the one after that.
He kept getting up for three whole hours and from the looks of it, he probably would have made it through four, had they not finally backed off, claiming that beating the new imp in town had lost it's amusement. They made that claim with knuckles blistered and raw from overuse, and a flash of unease in their eyes. It wasn't anything Tyler really noticed to be honest, two busy trying to shake off the unconsciousness trying to creep in on him.
How he didn't black out from the beating he'd been given was something not even Tyler could figure out. "But hey if it works, it works." Rubbing his cut cheek Tyler just staggered out the alley and tried finding a direction to go now. "Still, that's…" He glanced over to the tall clocktower that was hanging out in the saw it was around noon now, though what he couldn't figure out was this … timer resting directly beneath it.

"What's that supposed to mean?" No one gave him an answer as he stared at the clock for a moment longer before wandering off. "Anyway what am gonna do now…?"He looked back to see his tail dragging behind him again and sighed before picking it up, wrapping it around his arm like it was a dog's leash or something similar. "I guess I could…" He sighed to himself before putting a hand in his pocket and stopped before pulling out his wallet. "I still have this?" He muttered in surprise before opening it up.
It still had some bills in there.
"I thought you couldn't take anything with you when you died." Least that was what his grandparents had told him. "Well, I guess I'm in luck…"
No, he wasn't.
Not really anyway.
"What do you mean you don't take this, it's money." Standing inside a small corner store Tyler looked at the man behind the counter as they just stared at him in annoyance.
"As I said we don't take that kinda paper." They pointed at the Washington bill in Tylers hand as he snatched a soda called Hell's Squirter from the counter. "You want this, ya need one of that." He jabbed a finger at the counter screen, the face of old Mammon printed on a 100 dollar bill. "And I can't do shit with that." He jabbed his hand at the bill Tyler was holding.
Tyler just frowned as he looked at the bill on the screen, staring at the unrecognizable man on it. "Ok…" Tyler grumbled before his features loosened. "Where can I get that?" He pointed at the bill.
"Stupid little dumb f…" The cashier took a breath, trying to calm himself down as he popped the cork on the Squirter and started drinking it himself much to Tyler's disbelief. "This is why I hate speak'in with new sinners." They took another drink before slamming the soda on the counter. "Don't know nothin." He took another breath. "Ok. Look, you take that, ya head to a place where ya can exchange what you got with ya for hell's brand of cash."
"It's that simple?" Tyler stared in surprise. He just needed to find a place to exchange his cash like he would with foreign cash. It was that simple? "Hell has a place like that?"
"Yes." The cashier took another drink as they rolled their eyes.
"Why?" He didn't mean to pry, but seriously… why? This was hell right? Well, a city in hell, but still… where was all the fire and brimstone and -
Tyler stopped thinking, taking a breath as he looked at the demon and glanced at his nametag. Eddie. "So… where can I find that currency exchange place?" They raised a finger to silence him, preferring to finish their drink as Tyler fought back a frown and waited. They belched as he just stared at them.
"Ok look, head towards the clocktower, when ya standing right in front of it, go left. And keep going till ya find Asmodi Exchange."
"Asmodi? You mean Asmodeus?"
"Well what do ya know the fucker knows something after all Eddie grumbled as they ushered Tyler off. "Anyway I got other customers, now get out."
Tyler looked around for a moment. "Y-your stores empty." Eddie narrowed his eyes at the young imp. "But ok, iff you want me out of here so bad." Tyler grumbled as he stepped out, not even bothering to look back as he left the convenience store. "See why no ones really here, the cashier's kind of a dick." He muttered before crossing his arms. Someone else dropped from the sky not long after he did, seemed to check themselves over before releasing a relieved laugh.
I'm alive? I'm alive!"
"Hey get out the-" Tyler's warning came a second to late as someone ran him over, turning the poor soul into road kill as he flinched at the sight blood and bone and meat flying everywhere.
The stench of offal and organ meat getting in his nose made him want to throw up.
And to be fair, he did, turning to the side of the building he was next to, the young man emptied his stomach as those next to him just stepped around him.
"Pttf." Someone rolled their eyes as they looked at him and just stepped over a piece of road kill. "Wuss!" They shouted at him. "Can't stomach this, you ain't gonna last long down here!"
Know its a bit of a slow start, but Tyler's first day in hell wraps itself up with this.
