As Axel examined her hair, awful white, easy for blood to stick, she realized that it's very likely to be from her mother.
She decided she wants to change that.
I had fun writing this, so I hope you guys enjoy it too!!
The day after Axel got claimed, she is went to find a certain Aphrodite kid that she considered the most peaceful of them all:
Aion De Rosè, the sweet genderless demigod that has manners. Absolutely lovely in Axel's eyes.
She found the blond haired demigod in cabin 10, slamming the door open. Aion seemed startled, flinching their hands away from one of their sister's hair. But they smiled nonetheless. "Axel, is there something you need?"
The nine year old girl nodded, approaching them. "Can you dye my hair?"
Instantly, all of the campers in the Aphrodite cabin snapped their heads to look at her like hungry wolves that just smelled fresh meat. Aion, themself, had a dangerous glint in their colorless eyes. "I would love to."
A few hours later…
"No! Pink would look better on her!"
Yelling.
"Are you crazy?! Obviously sky blue would complement her eyes more!"
Arguing.
"No, all of you are wrong, I suggest red."
Annoying. Annoying. Annoying. I want them to shut up.
"Hah?! The actual—"
Fortunately, for Axel, Aion stopped the Aphrodite campers from having a cat fight over her hair. She was starting to be tempted on just shaving all of her hair….but, knowing them, the children of Aphrodite would watch the world burn before letting her do that.
"Okay, okay, guys, stop." Aion looked at the one that asked for a hair dye but got a haircut and fuss instead. "Why don't we let Axel be the one to choose?"
Smart. Very Aion like.
"Good idea!" A girl-silena, Axel reminded herself. "What do you think, Axel?"
"Um," She blinked, examining the choices of colors assorted on the vanity in front of her. "I guess….black..?"
Aion raised an amused eyebrow, probably knowing that Axel chose the color because it was the opposite of white, her current hair. "Alright then," they clapped their hands. "Everyone! Bring in the black dye!"
Ah. Axel regretted asking the Aphrodite cabin for a hairdo. She should've just asked Annabeth or something…..
"Oh." Axel simply said nonchalantly, staring at her newly colored hair.
" 'Oh'? " someone–um, Drew Tanaka said in experasion. "That's all you have to say? Look at your hair! We've made it so much better. "
The half-black, half-white haired girl merely shrugged. "It's cool, I guess. " She heard a scoff.
"Now, now," Silena said calmly, "We've enjoyed it, Axel looks wonderful, a win-win."
Axel saw Aion smile warmly from the mirror. "Well said. But Axel, why did you suddenly want to dye your hair? Is it something to do with your claiming?"
Murmurs heard, speculating, assuming.
"Yeah," she admitted. "My hair color was probably from my mother, my eye color too, maybe. But I can't change my eye color, so I wanted to change my hair."
Aion smiled, pleased with her reasoning. "Well, next time, if you want to change something about yourself, do it for you."
Axel did answer, letting their words sink in. Okay, she'll do that.
The just claimed daughter of Eirene took a bit out of her waffle, ignoring the stoll's teasing, "how could you be a daughter of peace? You're like, pretty much Ares material!"
Axel frowned, turning her head to the insignificant Hermes brother. "If you don't shut up, I will punch you." She stated (purposely not referring exactly where she'll hit, or even how many times), not all that of a threat, but a promise. Maybe because of her peace-ness or whatever.
And luckily, for the stoll, he did shut up. For her, not much, (she wanted to punch his face) but, she appreciated the peaceful moment of enjoying her waffles. Lovely.
She hates Fridays.
A ten year old Axel went up to approach the Athena side of the game, only stopping near a blond girl her age.
"Annabeth, I don't want to join."
She frowned, intense grey eyes stared at Axel, examining her, as usual. "Does this have something to do with your godly parent? Peace?"
"Hah?" What does that have to do with her mother. "No, it's loud. unorganized. Messy. And even if I do get to hit annoying people, they don't shut up. It's pointless and I hate other people fighting. "
The daughter of Athena paused, eyes always calculating. Then she nodded. "Then if you want it to end sooner, just help us win faster."
…."I suppose that works too." Fine, she'll win.
Light teal eyed two unnamed demigods on top of a tree branch. Her natural calming aura affected the tree Nymph to allow her to climb it, and also; making the two demigods on the red team unnaturally lower their guard. She gripped the two balls in her hand that turns into celestial bronze nets, and threw one of them to the red teamed demigods. After she saw them completely tangled, she jumped down, ran past them, ignoring their shoutings, "hey! Get back here!", and quickly headed towards where the red flag is, in one swift motion.
She found the red flag guarded by two demigods, a son of Demeter, probably, and a daughter of Ares, not Clarisse though. Axel hummed a tune, loud enough to be heard by the two demigods from her hiding place. And instantly, the two red team members looked like they were more relaxed, eyes just vaguely searching their surroundings.
Axel smiled, held up her hand to a swinging motion and threw it at them. As she ran, It flew with a swoosh! Sound and hit one of them in the head, causing the net to materialize, trapping them both. A pale hand gripped the pole with the flag, then immediately sprinted towards the binary line.
Her ears caught many shouts, running, and a few arrows failed to maim her before she jumped high over the creek. As she landed, turning to see the frustrated cries of the red team, she grinned gleefully.
She made out a "The game has ended; blue team won!!" From Chiron.
Axel let out a satisfied nod. Good.
As she was about to walk away, she sensed a presence near her. She turned as a voice told her, "Great job, Axel."
"I know." Axel agreed. "But...why are there people screaming at me from our own team?"
Annabeth quirked an eyebrow. "You mean them cheering for you?"
"Huh? Wha—" her sentence left uncompleted, as her body was easily thrown by a lot of demigods, yelling, "Axel! Axel! Axel!!"
Axel grumbled in annoyance, as her teammates seemed so intently set on loudly cheering. "Annabeeeth, you said that it'd be peaceful if I helped us win faster!!"
The daughter of Athena just smiled and waved, letting Axel be carried away.
Fucking traitor.
"Y'know, Axel, it would've been easier to let your own team lose. It still would end the game." Aion helpfully told her, a few moments after the crowd of happy campers left her alone.
Axel paused. Huh. That's right. "well, Aion," she grumbled, "No one ever said I was Athena quality."
The older demigod laughed and ruffled Axel's hair. "That is true. You're a bit of a reckless, after all."
What does that got to with smarts?
"Hmph." The teal eyed demigod turned away, heading towards the Hermes cabin.
Aion shook their head in amusement.
