Answering the comments!
FemLexLuthor- Yeah, I'm honestly constantly trying to get my head around the Lila thing. Lila is really mean, but the quote I live by (two of them) are: "hurt people hurt people" and (this one was by me) "Don't hate the haters 'cause they hate, love them 'cause they're hurt." So, I'm looking deeply into the story. Thanks for commenting!
Ladynoir- Okay, the "I hope she crashes and burns" is a really strong comment. Girl, she will burn. But, probably not in the way you're thinking. I honestly felt bad for Lila after I read that. This DOES NOT take place during the series, so don't expect a Lila takedown. Overall, I hope you enjoy the story.
LunaWolf44 (Guest)- Ha, a lot of people despise "Lie-la." (I'm not really into the "Lie-la" thing. I prefer actual names, so that is the only time I will write that. Especially since she's not going to be a big liar until the end.) I happen to like Lila. No, I won't defend her. No, she isn't a good person. But yes, she is a queen.
Chapter Two: Lila and Her Daddy
At seven, Lila was very intertwined with her father. Her father was her sun, moon, and stars. The same was for Lila.
"You ready to go to Italy?" Arthur asked the girl.
"Ready as I'll ever be," Lila said, gripping her suit case so tight her knuckles turned white.
"It's not going to be too bad," Clara, Lila's mother, said. Lila rolled her eyes. The only reason they were moving was because of Clara's job. Clara worked as a news reporter, and it made it so Lila's friends may've gotten close to her, but never connected for too long. They always moved on to someone more… Present. Lila had become fluent in several languages. Currently, she lived in China. Chinese was a fun language. The writing especially.
Getting on to the plane, Lila pulled out her phone, but Arthur looked at her with a look that said, "Just wait." Lila put her phone (that was only used for plane rides) in her pocket, sat down on a window seat. With a sigh, she looked down at her clothing. A pair of jean shorts, a black t-shirt, and her hair was done in a bun with her hair hanging forward. If she could just open up her phone…
"I know what you're thinking, dewdrop," Arthur said. "Just wait. You know how the beginning of the flight is always my favorite, plus there is something I want to show you."
"Okay, Daddy," Lila said. She looked at her mother for a confirmation that her father had something for her. But, typical Clara, she was already on a phone call, planning all the little details when they would arrive in Italy. Clara looked like an older Lila, except her hair had a redish-tint.
"Yes, that is all cleared up… Okay, if that's where we will be staying… Lila will be enthusiastic about that!" Clara said, talking to an unheard voice on the end of the line. Lila rolled her eyes. What will she be enthusiastic about? Because chances are she won't be enthusiastic about anything her mother has in store.
The flight attendant explained how to buckle the seats and then the jerking feeling of taking off filled Lila's body. "Look out the window, dewdrop," Arthur told Lila. Lila did as she was told and looked out the window. The airport below started getting smaller and smaller until… The city they had been living in was just below them. The as the world became dark, the lights of the city turned on. It was truly a spectacular sight. Something Lila hadn't seen before, because their planes usually took off in the morning.
"It's- beautiful," Lila cooed.
"I knew you'd like it, dewdrop," Arthur said. His hand rested on her shoulder as they continued their accent until they reached above the clouds. Lila smiled. Her father was always trying to lighten her mood with something special. Especially because they typically moved once a year.
"I love you, Daddy," Lila said, placing her head on her father's shoulder.
"I love you too, darling," Arthur said, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. Before she knew it, Lila was dozing off on her father's shoulder.
"She's beautiful, you know," Clara said.
"She is the most precious thing ever," Arthur agreed.
"I hope she likes Italy. It was where she was born, anyway," Clara said.
"We should just stay in Italy. Lila has had enough moves to last her a lifetime," Arthur said.
"We can't, my job won't permit, you know that," Clara said.
"Do you actually care about Lila? Do you think about what she thinks?" Arthur asked, critically. "I've asked her about it a handful amount of times, she just brushes it off, but I know these moves bother her."
"Look, honey, I'm doing what's best for us," Clara said. "I have a steady income and I'm slowly making my way up."
"Let me get a job with a steady income. You know I have a hard time keeping a job with all these moves, too," Arthur said. "And you never answered my question about Lila."
"Lila is thriving wherever we…"
"That's not my question."
"Of course I care about her!"
"You just care about your job more."
"That's not the case!"
"Clara, you and I both know it is. You wouldn't give up your job for the world." Silence followed.
"I'm going to go to sleep," Clara said, clearly finished with the conversation.
"Goodnight, Clara," Arthur said.
"Goodnight, Arthur," Clara responded.
…
"All passangers, please remain seated as we begin our decent," the loud speaker had come on. Lila felt relieved that after two other flights, they were finally in Italy. Stupid jet-lag, she was still extremely tired.
The family of three filed out and went through the whole difficult task of grabbing their stuff. They clambered into a car that they had rented and drove off.
Well, this was bound to be exciting.
