Amber opened her eyes to see the celling of the airship they were currently traveling on, after being disturbed out of her nap by her two sisters having an argument.

Willow was wearing her causal clothes of a black jacket and blue jeans with a white shirt visible underneath. Her dark red hair was messy and let down instead of the short pony tail that was typical for her little sister.

Summer was wearing her hunters uniform of a white t-shirt and formal red jacket, maroon combat skirt, white leggings and red heels. She also had a red cloak that ended at her lower back draped over her shoulders. attached to her left hip by the belt was her weapon that she inherited from their mother; the multi action dust rapier know as Myrtenaster. Summer had made a few changes to the iconic weapon the most notable being its new red coat of paint, but on closer inspection you could see a few more changes the oldest of the Schnee family had made. The revolving piece had been swapped out for a new one with more dust cartridge's and on Summers and left hip was a small white pouch were she kept a speed loader.

Rubbing the sleep out of her eyes Amber started to listen to the loud argument that was happening less then ten feet away from her.

"All you can do is stab a grim and the older it is then the more armor is has so you can't pierce it!" Willow laid out for her sister with a frustrated tone. 'Fair point' Amber thought to herself.

"A scythe is even worse the only type of strikes you can use are slash attacks and for other attacks you have to get at an uncomfortable angle there by putting your self in more danger!" Summer retorted equally frustrated.

Amber thoroughly offended that Summer would bad mouth the most powerful weapon ever made, she sat up and threw herself into the argument "I wouldn't bad mouth the scythe Summer especially sense you didn't even want to go to Beacon when you first started." Amber chose her words carefully as she knew that Summer would have rather gone to a business school then a hunters academy, but her opinion had changed rather drastically by the time winter break rolled around last year.

"Wait yeah, you never wanted to go to Beacon but when you came back for winter break you couldn't wait to get back what changed?" Willow asked her sister.

Summer's face went as red as her cloak and stammered out an answer "W-well I-I was just impressed with its courses a-and..." She was cut off by Amber saying what she believed to be the real reason she was so excited to go back the the academy.

"You have a crush on one of your teammates."

If it was possible for Summers face to turn more red then it would have. "W-w-wait I-I never s-said that. I-I mean..." She was grasping at straws at this point, but once again her stammering was cut off by her sister.

"OH MY GODS I'M RIGHT?!" Amber burst out into laughter and was soon followed by Willow.

The door leading to the second living compartment opened up and Ruby stepped out "What are you three yelling about?"

Willow was quick to continue teasing her sister, "Summer's got a boyfriend~"

"I-I do not! B-be quiet Willow"

"Willow don't tease your sister, besides its good that she is finally interested in someone" Ruby said with a giggle.

"M-Mom!"

Ignoring Summer, Ruby turned towards the middle of her children, "Amber get changed we're going to land soon."

Getting up Amber grabbed her bag with her hunters uniform and moved towards the bathroom to get changed. After a few minutes, She came out in her uniform. She was wearing a white jacket with several pockets along the inside storing ammo mags, and a pink undershirt. She had swapped out her pants for a white combat skirt and white leggings both with pink stitching. On her feet were white steel toed combat boots with pink laces. To finish off her outfit was a long white cloak that ended just above her heels. Behind the cloak attached to her body was her weapon in its collapsed form as well as her side arm strapped to her right thigh. Looking in the mirror Amber moved a few strands of her white and red hair out of her eyes, she didn't do much with her hair and had a case of "permanent bed head" as Summer once put it. Ambers eyes were then drawn to the jagged scar running along her right cheek bone. Running her hand along the scar brought back many memories most of them bad, forcing those thoughts out of her mind she exited the bathroom to see her friend Dinha sitting on the couch looking at her scroll.

"Hey Dee' watcha looking at" Amber questioned leaning on the end of the couch.

Dinha chuckling at the spur of the moment nick-name looked over at her old friend, "Hello Amber, I was just reading the news. Nothing interesting." Her tone was hard to place but there was a hint of sadness

Tilting her head Amber began to speak "You feeling okay Dinha? You sound a little sad."

"I do huh?"

"Just a little." Amber said with a smile as she sat down next to Dinha.

"Well its just because with you, and Summer going off to Beacon, and Ruby taking Willow to see her father on patch for most of the year, and Weiss is going to be taking time off from the company to teach a class at Beacon, their wont be anyone around the mansion to talk to besides the other staff, and well the only thing I have in common with them is my job." She ended her sentence with a slight chuckle.

"Wait what?" Amber asked with a bewildered expression on her face.

"You didn't know" Dinha asked with an equally perplexed look on her face

"Uh, no. No I didn't, you don't mind if I talk to my parent's real quick."

"No, not at all." she said with a smile

Getting up from her seat Amber marched over to the other sitting room. Pressing the button to open the door she saw her parents and sisters waiting for her. She wasted no time to question her moms on the news she had just heard, "So mind filling me in on why your staying with grandpa for the year with Willow and your teaching at Beacon?"

"Wait is that what you were going to tell us?" Willow chimed in

Weiss sighing and pinching the bridge of her nose spoke up, "Yes that is what we were going to say, but it seems Amber has done the announcing for us."

Summer was the next to chime in, "Wait, mom why are you going to be spending time with Grandpa Tai?"

Ruby then sat down on an arm chair and her face grew very serious "Well do you all remember when a few years ago grandpa was diagnosed with lung cancer and he went into remission?" Everyone in the room nodded in response, "Well its come back and I want to be there for him while he goes back into treatment." She wore a sorrow smile as she finished her sentence, "And I'm taking Willow with me because I cant just leave her up in Atlas while me and Weiss are away."

"So then what's this about mother teaching a class at Beacon?" Summer asked trying to lighten the mood.

"Well I needed a break from the SDC and when I told my sister I was taking an extended vacation and she told me that Beacon was looking for a new dust professor, and I figured that it would be a nice change of pace."

"So then who is acting as the CEO while your on vacation?" Summer questioned

"Oh, my brother is."

A few moments went by with Willow bringing the argument from earlier back up when the ground beneath them shook and the captain voice came over the loud speaker saying that they had arrived at Beacon academy. Not wasting any time Amber rushed out of the sitting room and down the short hallway towards the bay door. As the door opened and the school came into view a smile of pure joy spread across her face and wonder filled her eyes.

"Welcome to Beacon Amber" Her older sister said as she walked up behind her.

The rest of the Schnee-Rose family walked off the airship and begin to say their good byes, with a rather long good bye kiss between the parental figures. Ruby and Willow got back on the ship and the door closed as the ship began to fly away.

"Well you two I have to go and speak to Oscar and set up my office, I'm sorry I wont be able to see the entrance ceremony, and Summer please look after your sister okay." Weiss said worriedly

"Don't worry mother I will take care of my little sister." Summer said reassuringly

"I'm gonna be just fine mom don't worry." Amber stated

Sighing at Ambers comment Weiss started to walk away before turning around "Good luck you two, I love you both."

The sisters watched as their mother walked away for a moment before Summer turned to Amber "So how about a tour of the school!" she said excitedly

"Hm, no thanks I just wanna explore besides I have a couple hours until the headmasters speech starts." Amber said walking away in no direction in particular leaving her confused sister behind.

She had been walking for half-an-hour when she found herself in a garden with all kinds of colorful flowers and other plants. She was too busy taking in the sights and smells to pay attention to the road in front of her, when she bumped into another girl sending both of them onto the ground. "Crap, sorry about that" Amber quickly apologized as she got up offering her hand out to the girl she just ran into.

"N-no its fine I wasn't paying attention either." The girl apologized as well, taking her hand. she was a little shorter than Amber with short well combed black hair that held a blue tint in the light. Her eyes were a pale purple. She wore a bright blue overcoat with a black undershirt and a navy blue scarf wrapped around her neck. She also wore black pants with bright blue flats.

"Still I'm sorry. I'm Amber, Amber Rose."

"B-Bella String."

"Nice to meet you Bella, hope to see you around."

"Y-you to A-amber."

Amber then continued to walk around the campus until she got an alert on her scroll telling her to make her way towards the auditorium to hear the headmasters speech. Instead of just walking to the auditorium she just used her semblance to disappear from were she was standing and reappear next to the exact building she needed to be in a cloud of white rose petals.

Making her way inside she saw the head master on the stage in his green overcoat and cane in hand. By his side was a tall women with short black hair, cat ears, and long white coat "Aunt Blake?" Amber muttered under her breath. Ambers knew that Blake had taken a teaching job at a hunters school but not one at Beacon especially not as the headmasters assistant and by default combat instructor.

It wasn't long after all the first years entered that Oscar cleared his throat and started speaking, "Welcome students, to Beacon academy. Now I tend to keep these speeches short so lets get down to brass tacks. Tomorrow you will be sent into the Emerald Forest to retrieve a relic with your partner who you will be assigned during said assignment, after you return you will be put into teams who you will share a dorm with and go on missions with for the rest of your time here at Beacon. This year we will also be instituting a new team ranking system to encourage students to do even better and push themselves to new heights. For tonight you all will be sleeping in the ballroom, and that concludes all that I have to tell you." The freckled man then turned around and left the building followed by his faunas assistant. 'THAT WASN'T EVEN FIVE MINUTES' Amber mentally screamed at her self.

Amber then filed out of the building with the rest of the first years, and was about to continue her wandering around the building when someone snuck up behind her and grabbed her in a headlock, "Wacha' doin' here runt?" the person asked with a joking tone. Amber recognizing the voice smiled with excitement, and used her semblance to get out of the head lock and punched the person in the back lightly.

"Hey there Elly, great to see you." The person who had snuck up on Amber was her cousin; Elizabeth Belladonna. She was slender with the same lilac eyes and long blonde as her mom, but she had two pitch black cat ears coming out of the top of her head. She was wearing zipped-up black and yellow leather jacket and black jeans with her gauntlets strapped to her wrists. Unassuming at first but the black gauntlets could extend into a sword and shield with a flick of the wrists.

"I saw your mom walking around earlier but I didn't expect to see you around." She said with her typical confidant voice

"I was let into Beacon a year early, if you can believe that." Amber said proudly

"Well well well Mrs. Big-Shot how did you pull that one off?" Her cousin asked Jokingly

"Some luck and good grades, not like you would know anything about that." Amber retoured with a cocky voice

"Hey now don't get smug with me runt, I still got more experience on the field than you." She was right but that wasn't going to stop Amber.

"Well I'm a fast learner, and who knows maybe I will be even better than you some day."

"Well in order for that your gonna have to go through team JADE and team ASHH and well me and Summer don't go down easy, we already rank number one and two in our grade and are in the top ten out of the whole school." Elly challenged.

"Well its just the first day. I swear whatever team I end up on will be the best team in the whole school!"

"Is that so. Well then I hope to see you out there runt."

"You will." Amber affirmed. After that Elly went off to meet with her team and Amber was left to go back to her wandering around the campus. Before long it was sunset and she thought now was a good time to start to head to the ballroom to get ready for bed. After arriving she found a good spot to lay her things laying her claim to this spot she grabbed some spare clothes and went to the bathroom to get changed. After she got changed her eyes once again fell onto her scar in the mirror and the same memories from before flooded her mind. Grabbing the top of her head to try and force the thoughts to leave her head, she had to lean on a near by stall for support, 'time for bed' she thought to herself.

Laying down in her sleeping bag wasn't the most comfortable, but it didn't matter as after a long day she was in a deep asleep after a few minutes.

She was awakened by a ray of sunlight hitting her right in the face. Sitting up and rubbing the sleep from her eyes she took in her surroundings. It looked like she one of the first to wake up, this wasn't to unbelievable she had always been an early riser. Getting up and getting her hunters uniform from her bag she went back to the bathroom to get changed when she got back she saw her aunt Blake and headmaster Oscar standing in the center of the room with an...airhorn? 'oh no'. Covering her ears in a vain attempt to block out the sound, Blake pressing down on the button causing the horn to release the loudest sound Amber had ever heard. All of the other student bolted into the upright position some covering their ears others with weapons drawn. "EVERY ONE GET CHANGED THE EXAM BEGAINS IN ONE HOUR" Blake yelled at the top of her lungs.

As the student scrambled to get ready Amber just stood there trying not to get trampled by the horde of first years, as the crowd began to thin Amber was able to make her way back to her spot and grab her weapons and rolled up her sleeping bag. "Already Dressed Amber?" said a voice from behind her.

Turing around to see the headmaster she gave her answer, "Woke up early, I kinda got lucky when compared to every one else."

"Always expect the unexpected, you never know when a grim might attack."

"Like I haven't heard that all my life." Amber joked

"Good luck on the exam Ms. Rose." he said blankly as he walked away most likely to the testing grounds

"uhh thanks. I guess"

She then turned to her aunt who was about to follow him but turned to her, "I don't know if I'm going to get another chance to say this so, congratulations Amber."

"Thanks Aunt Blake, That means a lot."

Blake then left following her boss.

Making her way out of the ballroom and into the locker rooms on the other side of the campus. Finding a locker near the changing rooms, she placed her bag and sleeping bag in the bottom and closed it imputing the code to lock it. As she rounded the corner and collided with a mass of red. Looking at the mass that had just ran into her she saw that it was in fact a girl in red armor. She was blonde and her hair was in a long pony tail. She was wearing crimson armor with black chain mail underneath, the red armor plates covered her chest, forearms, and below the knees. The other parts of her body also had the red plates but they were noticeably thinner. It wasn't until she looked up that Amber noticed her striking blue eyes that contrasted the rest of her outfit. "Whoops, sorry about that I'm kinda in a hurry are there any open lockers around here?" She spoke very fast and was clearly in a rush.

"Yeah there's one right next to mine number '762'."

The red girl let out a relived sigh and thanked Amber before quickly moving over the the locker that Amber had pointed out opening it up and placing her things inside. "Thanks for that, I'm Mia, Mia Heart."

"Amber Rose"

"Nice to meet ya' Amber." Mia said giving a two fingered salute.

"Same to you Mia." Amber said with a smile as the two of them started the walk to the exam site, "You ready for the exam?"

"Of course I am, all it is recovering a relic from the woods the only thing that I'm worried about is my partner. OOH! Maybe you could be my partner!" Mia said excitedly

"I don't think that's how it works Mia." Amber said a little flatly

"OH come onnnn...I heard that they launch you into the woods from the cliff all we have to do is land near each other." Mia stated even more excited

"How about you just leave that part up to luck." Amber stated starting to feel her energy leave her as if Mia was absorbing it.

Mia responded by crossing her arms and pouting making Amber chuckle a little. When the duo arrived at the cliff they saw some of the other students lining up along the launch platforms, and they decided to follow suite. Mia and Amber lined up next to each other and started to examine the other examines, There was a girl with dark purple hair and a Bo staff, a boy with Heterochromic eyes, with one brown the other white holding a sword in a sheath. A very pink rabbit faunas with what looked like knives on chains. Turning to her right Amber was surprised to see a familiar face, "Oh, hey Bella." Amber greeted

A little startled the blue girl looked over at the cloaked girl, "O-oh h-hello Amber."

Mia then leaned over to see who Amber was talking to, "You two know each other?"

"We met briefly." Amber explained and Bella nodded in agreement

"Okay then. So Bella you excited to kill some grim?" Mia said with an energetic smile that Amber had already dubbed iconic for the red knight.

"Not, really I'm a little nervous to be honest. I don't even have a proper weapon."

Amber confused questioned her last comment, "Wait then what are you using as a weapon?" as Bella opened her mouth the answer they all heard a loud click from beneath their feet inside the launch pads. "The safety pin." Amber mumbled to her self. Looking over at Oscar she saw the sly smile on his face.

"Three." All of the students went into a small panic.

"Wait this is starting NOW!" Mia screamed

"Two." The Panic continued

"Good luck you two!" Amber yelled over the other students

"One" The panic reached its height

"You too." Bella said unusually calm given the situation

"GO" The launch pads then sent everyone flying forward into the forest

The wind rushing past her ears was loud, but Amber concentration was enough to block it out. She was looking for a clearing large enough to hold the relics. Spotting a large clearing that look like it had old ruins in to she angled her body in preparation to use her semblance when she noticed something else below her. It was the boy she saw earlier and he was fighting the bear like grim know as Ursa. The one he was fighting was large and with many bony spikes coming out of its back. Repositioning her body and pulling her weapon from her back she vanished from the sky and appeared on the ground next the the Ursa. Flicking a switch the compacted weapon let out a small click letting Amber know that the safety was off. With push of a button the mystery weapon unfolded into its full form of a medium length scythe.

The weapon was constructed years ago when Amber first started at Kronos academy, its unfolding and collapsed form were taken from Ruby's weapon Crescent Rose, but the total length of the scythe had been reduced by several feet being as long as Amber was tall. Amber had also made her weapon different by removing the sniper rifle from the design and replaced it with a high powered fully-automatic assault rifle. With the weapons white and grey color scheme Amber had given it the name Crescent Thorn as a reference to the weapon that inspired it.

The large bear like monster swung its large paws down at Amber who blocked the attack with the shaft of her scythe, parrying the strike she used the momentum of her parry to swing around and slash at the large grim's neck. Landing a good strike on the grim it staggered back in pain as the boy ran forward and drove his sword through a weak spot in the grim's armor killing the large Ursa.

"Hey, I guess were partners now. I'm Amber Rose." She put on the friendliest smile she could as she looked at the boy who didn't look all too interested. He wasn't wearing anything special either, Just a zipped up black camo jacket with maroon undershirt, black jeans maroon belt and black boots. The worn brown straps to the sheath of his sword were prominently on display on his chest. Amber also noticed that in his black hair was a steak of white hair that was swept off to the side of his face.

"Rod Broker." he said in a deep voice as he put his sword away. "You have any idea were the relics might be?" he questioned

"I saw a clearing about half a mile west of here it was large and had some old ruins in it, if i had to guess then that's were the headmaster hid them." She explained her findings to her new partner who looked at her blankly.

"Then lets get going, I want to get this over with quickly." He said moving in the direction Amber had pointed out not waiting for his partner.

"Hey wait up!" Amber called out

The were walking for a little while and they came across a few grim mostly young beowolfs that take their name from their wolf like appearance, with what little armor they had they were dispatched with ease. Soon they came across the clearing that Amber saw while in the air, in the center of the field was a platform with several pedestals with large chess pieces on them several were missing meaning other people had made it here before them. Rod not wasting any time went up to the platform and grabbed the white rook piece. Amber had just walked up to the platform and when she saw something moving in the tree line no far from were they were standing. Not wasting time Amber pulled out Crescent Thorn and got into the battle position, but she was able to put her guard down when it wasn't a grim that came into view but Mia and Bella 'guess they're partners' She thought to herself. Waving them over she got a dirty look from her partner.

"What are you doing lets go." he said displeased.

"I'm going to talk to my friends, if you have a problem with that then leave." She laid out his options secretly hoping he would leave.

"Trust me I would but we need to leave the forest together." He said with a frustrated tone.

The red and blue pair then walked up to the platform and greeted them "Hey Amber, is that your weapon, whos that guy, what's with the chess pieces?" Bella waved from behind her partner.

Giggling Amber answered all of Mia's questions, "Yeah I call it Crescent Thorn, that's Rod my jerk of a partner," That comment got her another dirty look, "And these are the relics we are supposed to collect."

Bella then moved up to the pedestal with the black rook and picked it up, "Does anyone know how to get out of this forest." she asked timidly

Rod pointed towards the cliff on the horizon, "All we have to do make our way back to the cliff there should be an elevator waiting for us." He explained.

"Well then lets get moving." the blonde knight said happily

The group started to make their leave when they heard a scream echoing out of the woods behind them. Turning around they saw two people running for their lives out of the woods, it was the same purple haired girl and pink rabbit faunas that Amber saw at the platforms. They were being chased by a pack of beowolves and leading the pack was the single largest grim Amber had ever seen standing at least 4 meters (13 feet) in height and was covered head to toe in armor plates inches thick. It wasn't an alpha that would be an understatement this grim belonged in a class all by itself.

The purple haired girl tripped on the stairs to the platform and the leader of the grim pack reared up on its hind legs to bite down and kill the girl. Amber not thinking used her semblance to appear in front of the girl and not having her weapon in hand used her arm to block the bite. The girl screamed and closed her eyes expecting to be eaten, but opened her eyes to see a girl in a white cloak had blocked the blow with her arm. "H-how?" she breathed out in confusion. A grim of that size could tear through metal like it was nothing with its jaws but she was able to block it with her arm and survive, but when she looked closer she could see that she wasn't unharmed as she could see blood running down her arm and dripping onto the stone floor.

"H-hey can you stand?" Amber asked the purple girl not looking back instead looking into the cold red eyes of her opponent.

Standing the girl responded, "Yeah, are you okay? Your bleeding" She had a better look at her aura it was shocking what she saw. A normal persons aura would be thin and cling to the skin and in some cases if it was strong enough it would get thicker by a few centimeters, but hers was at least an inch thick and it was rigid almost looking like steel plates covered her body. It almost seemed solid as there were cracks in her aura were the grim's teeth had suck through into her skin, it had to hurt like hell.

"I'm fine, go and help the others deal with the smaller grim I can handle the big bad wolf here." She sounded confidant but there was a shakiness to her voice mostly likely from the pain. The purple haired girl then turned and went to help the others deal with the small pack of grim. She saw Bella fighting a rather small member of the pack, well fight might not have been the right term it was more like the grim was trying to kill her and she was dodging it every time. Running over she drew out her Bo staff and turning the center the staff split into two smaller staffs with blades the the end, jumping into the battle she got in many good hits in, but the grim got the upper hand and was about to bit down when to recoiled back in pain. She heard a slight high pitched ringing and turned to Bella who was holding out her hand and whistling. Seeing an opportunity she put her staff back into its full form and and with the flip of a switch a trigger and scope popped out of the staff, getting down on one knee she took aim and fired an armor piercing round into the grim's skull killing it.

Mia had two of the wolves on her, the first one lunged toward her slashing at her chest. Mia activating her gauntlet weapons known as the Crimson Embers blocked the attack and pulled her fist back getting ready to punch. Right before the punch landed she activated her semblance and a screen of reflective material appeared in front of her fist her fist made contact with the screen and the grim, the screen shattered when her fist went through it, after a few seconds the shards began to glow bright red and exploded sending the grim flying several meters. The same thing happened to the second grim, but its armor was weak enough that the explosion killed it. The one left alive charged at Mia but another screen appeared in front of the grim's claws and the explosion was even more powerful than before causing the wolfs head to be incinerated.

Rod was facing down three grim two heavily armored bordering on Alpha class, and a third less armored grim. He took out his sword and spinning the revolving dust chamber until the earth dust was in the chamber, he pointed the tip of his sword at the first of the Alpha grim and flicked a switch hidden in the swords cross guard and the tip of the sword sung down on hinges revealing the barrel of a gun. With one pull of the trigger the dust came rocketing out of the front and impacted the ground the grim was standing on. The dust reacting with the ground spawned a large earth spire out of the ground impaling the large beowolf killing it instantly. Resetting his weapon from gun to sword he turned around to see that the other alpha grim was charging at him, the grim jumped into the air and slashed down at him. Rod ducked in response and knowing that the armor plates don't normally grow on a grim's stomach slashed upwards at the grim landing a deep cut into the grim innards it collapsed on the ground and began to disappear into dust. The third and final grim snuck up behind him and got ready to strike, Rod turning around to see this was caught off guard. The grim's blow was stopped by a pink knife on a chain landing in its paw and pulling it to the ground, and Rod taking the opportunity brought his sword down on the grim's neck decapitating it. looking over to see who threw the knife he saw the rabbit faunas that ran out of the woods, "Thanks." he said out of breath. She gave give a thumbs up and went off to help someone else.

After the girl had left Amber could hear the sounds of fighting behind her looked back into the eyes of the monster of grim she was holding off with her arm and aura, its fangs broke through her aura and currently found themselves inside Amber's bones. She then started pushing back against the grim to get some leverage, the grim then started to do the same and was more successful. Amber's first plan having failed meaning she had to resort to the painful plan B. She then started moving her arm into the vertical position fighting against the powerful jaws of the grim, she had gotten the grim's mouth slightly ajar reached behind her with her other arm and pulled out a dust grenade. Biting down on the pin she swiftly moved her arm away pulling the pin out, she then forced the grenade into the grim mouth. Using her semblance she removed herself from the grim's mouth and grabbed her sidearm pistol loaded with ice bullets quickly place the gun on the grim's lower jaw and pulled the trigger creating an icicle through the grim's jaw sealing its mouth shut. Amber then moved backwards to avoid the explosion. The Massive beowolf was trying desperately to claw the icicle out of its mouth, but it was all in vain as the grenade went off blowing the grim's head to smithereens.

Amber in an attempt to stop the bleeding tore off the sleeve of her jacket and tightly wrapped it around her wound. The purple hair girl ran over to her, "Are you okay that wound looks really bad." she said very worried.

"I'll be fine as soon as we make it back to the school, is any one else injured?" everyone else shook their heads in response, "Good lets get going." The group then started to make their way towards the cliff and to the end of the exam. Along the way Amber struck up a conversation with the mysterious purple haired girl.

"Thank you for saving me from the beowolf, I honestly can't thank you enough." The girl stated with a wide smile.

"Well I couldn't just let that thing kill you." Amber joked.

"I'm Amethyst by the way, Amethyst Gem most people call me Amy, and that over there is my partner Evelyn. She doesn't talk much." Amy then pointed towards the rabbit faunas that ran out of the woods with her.

"Amber Rose, nice to meet you Amy."

"Rose? Like Ruby Rose?"

"Yeah, she's my mom."

"No way I'm a huge fan of her, she's kinda like my personal hero."

Amber let out a small chuckle, "Well she's a lot more awkward in person then on camera I will tell you that much."

"Well most celebrities are."

The two kept talking for the rest of the walk until they all arrived at a bridge that lead to an elevator. the group boarded the large platform and it started to move upwards to the top of the cliff. When they reached the top they got off and they turned in the chess pieces to Oscar. Then Blake saw the bloody improvised tourniquet wrapped around her niece's arm, dropping her calm exterior for that of a worried mother she rushed over to check on her, "Amber what happened to you." she said examining her arm.

"A grim got me I'm fine." Amber reassured ignoring the large amounts of pain shooting across her nerves.

"Amber these wounds go down deep what kind a grim was this?" Blake asked getting more worried.

"A beowolf, an old one at that it was nearly three times my height and its whole body was covered in armor." Amber explained

"An omega grim, here?" Blake mumbled.

"Huh, what's an 'omega grim'?" Amber questioned

"That's not important I'm taking you to the infirmary." With that Amber was dragged off to the infirmary by her aunt, leaving her new friends behind.

She spent nearly an hour talking to the nurse and getting her wounds treated and bandaged and another hour just resting. Eventually she was given temporary leave to go to the team forming ceremony, but the nurse made it clear that she had to come back in the morning to change her bandages, and to not use her semblance.

She was a little late but luckily she had not been called yet. When she walked in her left arm thoroughly bandaged a newly formed team was just walking off the stage when she heard a familiar name being called to the stage.

"Amethyst Gem, Crystal Gold, Christen Sci, and Evelyn Jade will you please step forward." The four mentioned by Oscar then stepped forward onto the stage, "Amethyst for your fighting skill and compassion for others I hereby present you as the leader of Team ACCE." Amy was in shock cupping her hands over her mouth in surprise. The newly crowed Team ACCE walked off the stage and back into the audience, and Amber walked over to them to coregulate her new friend on becoming the leader of her team.

"Hey Amy, congrats on being made team leader."

"Oh Amber, how's your arm?" Amy said completely glossing over the complement.

"Right as rain, you know besides the bite wounds." Amber said with a joking smile.

Amy smiled at Ambers joke but was still a little concerned, "I honestly should be thanking you, you saved my life. How did you get your aura that strong."

"Its because of my semblance it uses a ton of my aura so if I don't have enough than I might start to break bones or leave behind vital organs." Amber explained

"Wow that's a pretty major draw back. I hope you don't mind me asking but you semblance is teleportation right." She asked apprehensively

"Nail on the head, and I don't mind i like talking about my semblance."

"Cool" Amy said with a sigh. "I can control crystals its genetic in my family, so my parents named me and my brother after gemstones." She explained.

Amber was about to keep talking when her name was called out by the headmaster, "Amber-Mei Schnee-Rose, Mia Heart, Bella String, and Rodney Broker, will you please step forward."

"Talk to you later Amy." Amber said as she moved over to the staircase that lead to the stage. As the four of them stood there in the order that they were called out in Oscar gave his mini speech.

"Amber for the great skill you have shown in combat, leadership, and academics, as well as your willingness to put others before your self I hereby make you the leader of Team AMBR."

Blake watched as her niece threw her arms up in excitement and immediately recoiled at the pain in her left arm, she would have gone over to check on her if the red and blur members of her new team didn't move in to check on her. Ambers team was the last one to be called up and she had been given the rest of the day off and she had a perfect idea on how to spend it.

She walked down one of Beacons many halls until she came to a door that lead into one of the dust classrooms knocking lightly she opened the door at the far end of the room was her old teammate, Weiss. She was writing something down on a piece of paper. "Blake its good to see you what brings you around here?" Weiss asked

"I have news on Amber." The faunas responded

Weiss stopping what she was doing sat upright at look her old teammate in the eyes and smiled happily to hear about her daughter, "Well what is it."

"Well I have good new and bad news." Blake said nervously at what Weiss' reaction would be.

"Oh gods what happened to her, is she okay." Weiss said anxiety filling her voice.

"Shas fine, she just got hurt protecting another student I took her to the infirmary a couple hours ago." Blake said trying to calm her teammate

Weiss visibly relieved leaned back in her chair, "Good, so what's the good news."

Blake smiling continued, "Well Oscar and I just put her in her team, with her as team leader and her team mates names are Mia, Bella, and Rod."

"A, M, B, R...Wait a second is it called?"

"Team AMBR." Blake finished for her.

Weiss burst out laughing at this. "She really is following in Ruby's footsteps." she said after collecting herself a little.

Blake laughing herself continued talking, "And I saw her saw them leaving with another team called ACCE and I couldn't help but think about Team JNPR." The old friends continued talking for hours about their old lives at Beacon and their lives now, laughing the whole time. Before long it was dark out side and they left for their private quarters for the night. In the Team AMBR dorm room the new team was doing the same.

Amber had gotten changed into her night clothes and was laying down in her bed in the far right corner from the door. The way the dorm was arranged was that the four beds were in the four corners of the room Amber had laid claim to the far right, Rod the far left, Mia across from Amber and Bella across from Rod. Pulling the covers over her she slowly drifted off into sleep, and one though crossed her mind, 'This is so much more comfortable that the sleeping bag.'
