Chapter 2: Spirit King Introduction

Toph POV

Damn, I feel very strong sensations, while Appa and Momo were grunting. I have to let Aang know about the sensations "Twinkletoes, I feel something really strong, and you probably should come with me."

Aang was busy making kissy faces to Katara "I will be back Katara, I'm going check on something out with Toph."

Katara sounding motherly as usual and said, "Be careful Aang."

I can hear Aang's heart beating faster than usual. Twinktoes, you have a gigantic crush on the group's mom. Oh well, it is not my business.

Aang and I are running towards the center of Ba Sing Se. Turns out that no one there. Aang looks in disbelief and said, "I swear that I felt this presence to Toph, maybe whoever was at this location decides to play mind tricks on us."

"Wow Aang, you said something smart for once," Toph said sarcastically.

"Toph, must you make fun of me all the time."

"Hey at least be grateful that you're not Sokka or our dear new friend, the angsting new Firelord named Sparky. " Toph said mockingly.

"Fine you got me, but I swear Toph why are we the only ones who can feel that presence. It's way too powerful and kind of scary you know. I feel that whoever has this power will make Ozai look like a toddler.

I guess twinkletoes is right about that. Aang and I are about to head back, but the presence has returned and I feel someone touching my shoulder.

"Tada You guys found me; I was just being invisible. Anyways, I hope I surprise you both. By the way, my name is Hei, and I hope we can be good friends." Said the new voice.

How can this have happened? Aang and I cannot feel that sensation, whoever is this guy, he got us good. It is like he can turn invisible or even a shadow. Something tells me, he might be just as strong as twinkletoes. Whatever I get him back on this prank that he did.

Aang asked, "Woah how did you do that?"

Hei said "Ohh that's easy I used shadow bending. It is an old subskill of air bending, and it's about controlling darkness around the environment. I can teach it to you sometime if you are interested in making sure no one can detect you if you are pranking someone?".

Aang looks surprised "Wait is it like how Toph can bend metal and how Ozai can bend lightning?"

"Congratulations you got it, but anyways we need to talk," Hei said seriously.

I wonder what he wants with Aang. I probably should stay with Aang and I said, "If your business with my friend, then it's my business too."

Hei said, "Well I was looking for you too gorgeous, you have a very special destiny ahead of you with three others, and one of them is the sister of the new Firelord".

Ok first he pranked us, then he flirted with me, and now he is saying I have a special destiny along with Azula and two other people whom I do not know. Huh, well what an interesting turn of events. This Hei guy sure is interesting, so I decided to punch him in the arm.

Hei looked intrigued "Wow you packed a punch for someone who is very pretty, but I liked that. Anyway, Aang, you going to need my help and your friend Teo's help with restoring the Air Nomads."

Aang looks very hopeful and said, " You can help me restore my people, Wait how can we trust you?"

"Tell me Aang, what do you know about the Spirit Ruler?" Hei questioned.

"My people believe that the Spirit Ruler is a very benevolent being towards the human race and that the Spirit Ruler and The Avatar used to be one being. It is said that the Spirit Ruler rules over the dead, the animals, and the Spirit World. It is said that the Spirit Ruler can control many elements like how the Avatar can bend the elements. The Spirit Ruler grant humans' thoughts and feeling, while the Avatar created the human body, however the Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and The Water Tribe feared the Spirt Ruler and only the Air Nomads accepted the Spirit Ruler and believed that it helps the Avatar maintain balance in the world." Aang stated matter of fact.

I guess Aang is the smartest of the boys. What is this Spirit Ruler business? It sounds like a horrible job for somebody to have. It seems that whoever is this Spirit Ruler seems to get a horrible reputation. I remember Mom and Dad tell scary stories about the Spirit Ruler and how it might send me to Gehenna, a place of horrible torture if I got my clothes dirty or pranked my servants. Yeah, my parents are very strict even when I was young, and they tried to scare me. Well, I am not afraid of anybody, plus whoever this Spirit Ruler is, I'm pretty sure that the Spirit Ruler could be a good person, I mean come on he rules over animals and I loved the badgermoles.

"Well, I am the Spirit Ruler," Hei stated in a cheerful tone.

I guess It is not every day when you meet somebody who supposes to be a fictional character, but then again, we live in a world where people bend elements and the spirit world existing. Plus, my best friend is the Avatar, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
