Besides, a few readers mistook that Kai might have returned to the Bladebreakers after getting kidanpped. But no, he didn't return. It was just a video footage of Kai that was sent to the Bladebreakers. He's still in its hostage. Hope you all have got it.

So...let's start!
"Hilary? You?"
The boys confusedly turned their heads at the source of the ray. It was coming from the ablaze ligneous lantern, held in the hand of the brunette. Not so powerful the lamp was, even the stars in the sky could enlighten the world more yet, it was much needed in the condensed, choking murk surrounding the bladers. Squinting a bit to adjust with the unexpected presence of the light, they stared at the chocolate-haired girl. Her spine-length coffee tresses were ruffled, covering one of her eyes. But another ruby orb of her was bloodshot, puffy. It was obvious as she'd wept a lot, locking herself in the room of her crush. Then again, at that time, there was not a single bead of tears. Rather, her eyes were burning, holding an invisible flame there.
Unknowingly, the bladers failed to look at her eyes. Their faces hung low; they couldn't find out how to speak the truth to Hilary. They felt worried whether the brunette would be able to accept the harsh reality or not. Though they all were more or less concerned regarding the unity, teamwork and existence of Bladebreakers, the brunette used to treat the team as her lifeline. She strode towards the boys, holding the lantern in her hand and glanced all over them, one by one, expecting them to lift their gapes to hers at least. Unfortunately, no one wanted to face her there. Not a single blader.
"I didn't expect this from you, you know," Her cold voice mercilessly thrashed the silence of the room, "You all are seriously determined to hand yourselves over that bit-beast?"
"It means…" Tyson frowned, "You have heard everything?"
"That doesn't matter, Tyson," Hilary glared at him, "Tell me whether your decision that I heard is true or false."
"Hilary, I know how you are feeling at this moment," The neko-jin tried to console her, "But…even if we don't surrender, it will kill Kai. Finishing him, it will haunt for us. It has already declared that nothing or nobody in this world can kill it. It…it wasn't lying, Dragoon also told the same thing to Tyson, didn't he?"
The world-champion nodded. Sighing, Ray continued, "That's why, we have taken this decision. We…we hate to do this but this is the only option left for us, Hilary. We cannot do anything against it."
"That's why, you chose the way of surrendering yourselves?" The brunette seethed, keeping the lantern on the floor, "Shame on you, Bladebreakers! Your leader who staked his own life only for saving this team…you did what in return? Crushing his pride in this way? You think Kai will be able to live after hearing this decision of you? Won't he feel guilty? Won't he feel himself responsible for the destruction of this team? Would he like being alive as a damn slave of that creepy bit-beast? As far as I know him, slavery was never a characteristic of him. Never can it be in this lifetime at least!"
"Hilary!" Max yelled, "You're caring of his pride more than his life?"
"In this world, who lives forever, Max?" The brunette grimaced faintly, "But virtues, pride, fame-they remain forever. If they are crushed once, they can never be brought back. I…I can…." While saying this, her voice shuddered, "I can see the death of Kai's body, not that of his soul."
"So what shall we do now?" Tyson impatiently growled, "Let him die?"
"For the sake of the sacred bit-beasts, I didn't utter that thing even once during the whole conversation, Tyson," Hilary clenched her teeth, "Not surrendering doesn't mean to let Kai die. We'll fight against the bit-beast."
"What?"
"What?"
"What?"
The boys yelled in unison, not able to digest the opinion of the brunette. They interchanged baffled looks. What was the girl saying? Did she just go crazy by mourning for the phoenix-prince? If she'd heard everything, she also should have known that the bit-beast was undefeatable. Why did she want throw herself as well as them in the open jaw of death? Was she depressed and traumatized because of all these things going around her? But no, Hilary was very serious. Her arched eyebrows, arid, burning ruby orbs, twisted lips, keen gazes-everything supported her determination to save their leader.
"You've heard right," The brunette confirmed, "We'll fight against the bit-beast. I don't know whether we will be able to defeat it or not but I even don't want to know. I only know that there's one path left for us which is way better and more respectful for Bladebreakers."
"There's no way to win against it, Hilary," The raven-haired Chinese sighed in disappointment, biting his lips to hold his tears, "Whatever it has told us is absolutely true. We…have to forfeit."
"Before years, the same proposal was kept before you, Ray," The brunette objected, "What did you do then?"
The neko-jin stopped, remaining speechless in front of this question of the girl. Yes, against Bryan, he'd been told to forfeit the match. But he hadn't. Only for his sacrifice, his tolerance, his endurance-at that time, Bladebreakers had won the championship, the bit-beasts of the world had been protected. Hilary wheeled to other boys, "What about you, Max? Couldn't you remember that your Draciel initiated the downfall of Black Dranzer when all your teammates who are considered to be stronger than you were defeated by Kai? Tyson, in this world, everyone knows you as the champion, the person who can make every impossible thing possible. Is it the thought of a world-champ?"
Tyson gasped, tightly clutching the Dragoon beyblade in his hand. The hung heads of the boys were lifted again as they watched the girl with awe, accompanied by the waves of shocks.
"You all can easily forget what Kai did for you," Hilary continued, "But not this Hilary Tachibana. If he weren't there, I could never be a part of this team. Maybe, I could never grow any interest in bit-beasts, nor could I see them in this life ever. He saved my life many a time, I can never forget what he has done for me, risking his own life, again and again. If nobody comes with me, if nobody agrees with me, I myself will go alone and do whatever will be needed to do for saving our captain."
A droplet of tears rolled down on her left cheek, her voice got braced, "Guys, I know that in front of the sun, the moon is nothing. Yet, the moon rises in the sky when the sun sets, at night, to fill the absence of the sun, containing its own light and spreading it everywhere. Maybe…maybe only for this, I was blessed with the power of seeing the bit-beasts before my eyes amidst a lot of non-bladers? Maybe only for this, Kai gave me a place in this team, not hesitating to apply my suggestions?"
Again, her teeth were gritted, the boys shivered seeing her, "That day, he protected my honor. No matter what happens, I won't let his pride be crushed by anyone in this world! He saved my life countless times. For saving his, today, even if I have to put my own life at stake, I'll do that happily! Yet, I won't step back!"
Turning back, she made her way to the exit of the dojo, curling her grips into fists and pushing some strands behind. No sooner had she taken five complete steps towards the door than she heard, "Hilary, wait!"
Frowning, she looked back. The boys who were sitting on the floor stood up, everyone gritting their fists and teeth just like her. The same fire burning in her eyes spread in their pupils too. Putting out their beyblades, they showed them to the brunette, "Don't forget us."
"Thanks for opening our eyes, Hilary," The world-champ smiled, "We really forgot how to tilt the dice and change the game. But once again, you've showed the way to us."
"One day, staking his own bit-beast, Kai fought and brought Driger to me," The neko-jin remarked, "Today, it's the payback time. For saving his life, I can even my risk my own."
"Me too, Ray," The American firmly nodded, "Once again, Draciel will wake up to fight an unknown strength."
"The bit-beast will regret that it doesn't have any owner!" Daichi cheered, enthusiastically punching in the air.
"We'll let him know that our captain isn't alone, Bladebreakers can never be alone!" Tyson blurted, "No matter what happens today, we'll do it all for Kai!"
Hilary's ruby eyes started brimming with tears; she bit her lips in happiness. She thought right. Let the world turn against, Tyson, Max, Ray, Kenny, Daichi could never leave their captain in any circumstance, nor could they let his pride be destroyed ever. Wiping them, she cheered in a trembling voice, "That's the spirit of Bladebreakers! I'm so proud of you, guys. Look, Kai will also feel proud of you when he'll get to know it!"
"Of course!" Tyson nodded, "We'll never let his head bow in front of anyone, be him any blader or a bit-beast. Once upon a time, when Dranzer was abandoned by Kai, I shot her against him. Once again, if needs be, I'll be ready to launch her-for him!"
"But…" Max scratched his head, "How will we initiate the battle? There must be a plan for it."
"Yeah," Hilary agreed with him, "Kenny, please try to locate the place from where the video clip was sent to you. Guys, let's make the plan."
"Okay…" They made a circle as the brunette whispered to them. Sometimes, they nodded in agreement, sometimes, their eyes went widened as they felt confused. However, as the speech of the chocolate-haired girl ended, they became nervous because the plan of her was quite dangerous.
"Are you sure, Hils?" Tyson worriedly asked, "Doing this is not as easy as saying this, you know."
"Except it, we have no other way to defeat the bit-beast, Tyson," The brunette was determined, "Besides, we have vowed that we'll take every possible risk to save Kai, haven't we?"
"Fine," Ray nodded, "We all are with you, Hilary. Don't worry, it will succeed."
"Oni-chan…" The purple-haired girl sniffed, binding her into a crushing hug, "Please…take care and don't do anything dangerous!"
"Don't cry for me, Dew-chan," Returning the hug, the brunette affectionately stroked the head of her younger sister, "Just wish us luck and keep us in your prayer. You stay here, okay? At this time, grandpa needs her junior home-girl a lot."
"I'll…" Dew wiped her tears and turned to the blunette, "Tyson, I know that you can manage everything. I have full faith on you. Take care of one another, okay?"
"I only needed this, Dew," He lightly laid a hand on her cheek, "Don't worry about us. We all will be safe, so will be Kai."
'Kai…' Hilary closed her eyes, holding Dranzer near her chest, 'Don't lose hope. We are coming to save you. This time, no matter what happens, we won't let anything happen to you. Wait for us, Kai, we're coming. Wait for us…'
The place located by Kenny was an old, haunted castle whose pinnacles could be seen from a long distance. Towering acmes like the sharpened tips of pencils were penetrating the dark clouds of the sky. With the help of binoculars, they tried to examine it along with its surroundings as much as possible. There were a few curved windows engraved on the gray brick walls of the fortress. No, there was no guard in front of the arched gate. Rather, it was kept open, welcoming any kind of stranger who would want to trespass. The bladers felt very suspicious regarding this act of the castle owner, gawking at one another.
"Guys," Kenny gulped, "Something must be fishy there. I mean…why will someone keep the door open? It's just like inviting us."
"Hehehe…" Daichi grinned, "Maybe, it is surrendering itself to us because it has already become afraid of us!"
"Daichi, it's not the time to joke," Tyson narrowed his eyes, "The bit-beast has seriously thought of some plans to counter us."
"But we won't cancel our plans for it, Tyson," Hilary didn't flinch a bit, "Let's go from the backside. They won't expect it from us, I think."
"Okay…" They followed Hilary's idea as the group entered the castle from the back door, thanks to the map which was drawn by Kenny. The exit of the castle was built by the edge of a narrow, shallow, serpentine river. Thankfully, the water level of the tributary was quite low. That's why, they faced no obstacle to cross it. Chief was a bit careful regarding his laptop.
"Driger!" The neko-jin lifted his ripcord to launch his blade, "It's your time to make the path clear for us!"
The twin-spiked silver beyblade flew towards the door, smacking the lock twice. Because of the sharp claws of the white tiger which shone like a pair of straight lines on the iron surface of the lock, the heavy metal deadbolt fell on the ground, sliced in two equal halves. Catching it back, the neko-jin smirked proudly, showing a victory sign to his friends as Max patted his back, Tyson and Daichi punched in the air, Kenny's face adopted a bright smile, spreading all over the face of the brunette too.
"Good job, Ray," Hilary leapt, "Now, let's go in!"
Tiptoeing, they went inside, only for being trapped in the fortress. There were so many dark mazes there, getting Bladebreakers stuck completely. The more they were trying to discover where the slate-haired guy was kept hostage, the more they were getting lost in the mysterious, complicated, murky paradox of this anonymous castle. They brought torchlights with them but they could only remove the darkness, not show them the correct way. Sometimes, losing their balance, they were colliding against one another mistakenly. It also happened that they ended up in the same lane of the palace more than once but they themselves couldn't realize it.
They didn't know how long they roamed in the spooky, abandoned fort. They might be hungry, thirsty, tired but nobody uttered those words, not even Tyson and Daichi. Their legs hurt; their heads started spinning. Hilary's condition was the worst of all of them. Ever since she'd learnt that Kai had been kidnapped, she didn't even gulp a single bead of water, let alone eating. She was sweating hard, the heart in her chest was jumping up and down but she didn't' let anyone guess how she was feeling, keeping the flames of determination in her heart alive and trying to find a way to reach Kai.
"Man, how longer!" Tyson heaved, "I think we have travelled through almost all the floors but couldn't even know where Kai is!"
"Umm…I have an idea." Hilary scratched her head.
"Idea?" The eyes of the boys were lit, "What's it?"
"Not all human beings can feel the presence of a bit-beast, but a bit-beast surely can, cannot it?" The brunette offered, "Why don't you guys call your bit-beasts for help?"
"Sounds good." Appreciating her idea, the bladers put out their respective blades from their pockets as blue, violet, golden and silver beams shone, emitted from the bit-chips. The scarlet glow was the brightest among all of them, springing from the blue blade held in the hand of the world-champ as if the bit-beast had known where her owner had been. Linearly, in zero-degree angle, they went in the same direction, showing their masters the way to reach the phoenix-prince. Like them, a smile of assurance glowed in the lips of the brunette as well as the bladers. Nodding, she spoke, "Let's go now."
Bladebreakers made their way, following the dance of the straight lines drawn by the sacred lights in the airstream. From their running footsteps, the floors of the castle were shaking. Yet, they didn't stop for a while. Hilary was the most eager of all of them. Her eyes were thirsty only to have a glimpse of the dual-haired Russian. She couldn't stop worrying about his condition. All the time, it was going on in her mind how he would be, captured by the filthy, arrogant bit-beast. Her heart thumped; she smacked the ground with her booted feet. The torchlight in her hand was chasing the radiance spread by the bit-beasts of her friends. But in front of her eyes, there was still darkness.
'A bit more, Kai…' She pondered, 'Soon, you'll be free from all kinds of pains.'
Finally, they halted in front of a large hallroom. It had no door, only thick, black silk curtains with golden fringes swinging in front of it, separating the portion from the outer world. Because of the thickness of the draperies, it couldn't be guessed what was going on inside. Right then, the beyblades stopped glowing, indicating that it was the place where Kai was kept hostage. Taking a sharp breath, the brunette pulled them apart as the jaws of all the bladers behind her dropped. She quickly veered her eyes, neither prepared, nor able to see the scene in front of her.
To the grayish, stone-made wall of the room, the slate-haired captain of Bladebreakers was chained around his wrists and ankles. He was, in one way or another, hanging from the barrier. His well-toned, bare, yet, bare trunk was carrying a lot of cuts and scrapes, drenched in his own prespiration. They were spread across his sturdy biceps, blood dripping from there. One of his eyes was covered under his messy silver-blue bangs. Hilary was horrified, embarrassed. It couldn't be understood from the red tints lidding her both cheeks whether she was scared or blushing. But she thanked Almighty because Kai was completely conscious though his body was violently juddering. He thirstily gawked at the brunette. The sensation which couldn't be seen in his expressions for a single moment since he'd been here was evident all over his face.
Fear it was called. Fear for the lives and safety of his friends; specially for the brunette who was maybe more than a friend to him.
Hilary's heart nearly rose to her throat, she couldn't even gulp properly. Her breath rate went beyond control as she started wheezing, seeing the condition of her crush. Anger rose to her head, dancing through her neuron cells. Her vocal cord badly wanted to crush the kidnapper with one thousand colorful words but she suppressed her wish, not wanting to create any unnecessary drama here. Anytime, she could blast there-her silent fuming said so.
However, her soul again shivered; she gasped, hearing a laughter out of nowhere, echoing in the entire hallroom. Along with her and the Bladebreakers, even the walls were also shaking in the rhythm of the violent, maniacal laughing. They looked here and there but found nobody in the room. Yet, the source of the laughter was present only in the chamber. Kai gritted his teeth, turning his eyes to a corner from where the wild exultation was spreading all over the place, he assumed. Petrified they all were, as well as enraged equally, unable to see the bit-beast. Discovering their expressions, the laughter in the room became louder as if the bit-beast had been feeling very delightful to play with them.
"Where are you?" Tyson blurted, "If you're brave enough to fight us, come in front of us!"
"He…he's invisible…" Kai somehow spoke.
"Huh?" Everyone looked at their battered friend, chained to the wall.
"Your captain is right, dear Bladebreakers," The laughter in the room stopped, "In fact, I'm in front of all of you but you cannot see me. It's only the power of my independence that I can appear before whomever I want."
"You bloody creature!" Hilary scowled, "Leave our captain! Right now!"
"What? Your…your captain?" The voice hovered near her ear, "No sweetheart, he was your captain once upon a time. Not anymore now. At present, he's my captive, my slave!"
"Shut up!" Kai roared, "You can never make me your slave! You must remember that I, Kai Hiwatari, am as much independent as you are!"
"Oh really?" The invisible bit-beast cocked an eyebrow though it wasn't visible to the bladers, "Fine, I'm releasing you."
Something moved towards the shackles that were restraining the phoenix-prince. They were severed unexpectedly as Kai leapt on the ground, thankfully, not receiving a painful fall. Landing on his right knee, he raised his head and gave a cold look at his kidnapper with one of his eyes which wasn't covered under his ruffled slate bangs. Bloodshot his amethyst orb was, burning in the same fire which was produced from the rubies of the brunette. Everyone rushed towards their leader but stretching a hand behind, Kai forbade them to come near him as he didn't want them to fall in danger. Hilary's feet stopped at first as her eyes got moistened again. The slate-haired Russian stood up, gathering all the strength left inside his body. His legs were shivering but he didn't give up, nor he let anyone hold him for support.
"You can never capture Bladebreakers!" He churned, "The power of independence doesn't only lie in you but also us! We all are independent here! We have the freedom of leaving or joining the team anytime but we don't misuse our independence like you, you filthy creature!"
"You're mocking my power source, Hiwatari?" The bit-beast jeered, "You'll regret, very soon. Just wait and watch!"
Out of nowhere, a purple smoke entered the room-no, there was no gap for it to enter. Rather, it was just produced in a corner of the chamber and started spreading everywhere, very rapidly. The vapor couldn't reach them yet but already they started feeling nauseous. It was choking all their breaths. Covering their mouths, they all burst out the violent fits of coughs. Again, the crazy, hysterical laughter of the bit-beast exploded in the hall, deafening them all. Clenching his teeth, Kai looked behind, at his teammates. His eyes couldn't just bear the condition of them, specially, the brunette's. While coughing, her bright, fair face was turning blue. He couldn't tolerate it anymore.
'No matter what happens, I'll protect my teammates,' He mentally decided, 'Even if it costs my own life, I'll never let a single scratch fall on them.'
Exhaling once, Kai faced the whirling vapors coming towards him, expanding his arms and trying his best so that the venomous steams couldn't reach his teammates anymore. Dropping his jaw, he inhaled-as deeply as he could. The toxic hazes didn't hesitate to step his nostrils and mouth, reaching his lungs. They inflamed; he felt that his breaths were stopping but he didn't stop. He was habituated to the world of poison and darkness; the smog couldn't affect him much; he thought. He wasn't caring of his own life; actually, never did he. He absorbed the last molecule of the violet, lethal smokes. Everyone's mouth remained open; eyes went wide-open in utter horror. Stretching an arm, Hilary yelped, "Kai!"
He turned to the brunette, applying the smirk of victory and success all over his determined, bruised face which turned purple, just like the smokes. His legs badly wobbled, coughing fits escaped from his weak throat. He couldn't keep his balance anymore, badly collapsing on the floor. His breaths were already clogged; lungs struggling hard to receive only a molecule of oxygen from the air but helpless, miserable they were.
All the bladebreakers rushed towards him. Hilary knelt down beside him, lifting his head on her lap and caressing his sweaty forehead. Her heart broke, tears wanted to rain from her eyes seeing him in such a vulnerable state. Tyson, Ray, Max, Daichi, Kenny started shaking the shoulders of the slate-haired guy to wake him up, calling again and again by his name and desperately begging but no sign of doing so was being shown by the phoenix-prince. But no, the ruthless creature didn't have a bit of sympathy for them in its heart. Rather, the rhythm of his laughter increased more, causing almost an earthquake in the room this time. They stopped wailing but now, they weren't petrified or confused anymore. All their jaws became tightened in fury.
"To be honest…I'm not surprised at all, dear people," The bit-beast might be shaking because of its laughter, "He…he just deserves it! Now, he has made my task easier! Within a few minutes, he'll breathe his last-but of course, before it, he'll watch you all die in my hands one by one, yet, being unable to do anything for you. Hahahaha!"
"Enough!"
The thunderbolt-like roar of the brunette literally shut the crazy laughter in the room. Everyone looked at the brunette in awe, with their extended eyes. Expanding an arm, she murderously glared at the unknown bit-beast though she wasn't able to see it. What was residing in her bloodshot ruby orbs could never be described by anyone. But it could easily be understood that she was very enraged, fuming in wrath. Her open chocolate locks blew around, failing to cover the horror that she was spreading with her pupils all over the place. Getting the signal, the Bladebreakers also stood up, pulling out their beyblades with the launchers, encircling her from all the directions according to their plan.
"What, dear girl?" The bit-beast snickered, "You're threatening me? Ouch…I'm scared…don't hit me…."
Again, it laughed, "You thought I would be saying the same things, didn't you? No, sweetheart, never! Why the hell should I be afraid of a non-blader, a skinny weakling like you who cannot even launch a beyblade properly?"
"For being strong, for proving their worth, not everyone should know how to launch a beyblade, you bloody creature," A dangerous grin rose in the lips of the brunette, "I'll show it to you now. Boys, are you ready?"
"Yes!"
Nodding and exulting, they leapt in the air, setting their beyblades to their launchers and pulling the ripcords in unison. Tyson had to do it twice, both for Dragoon and Dranzer each time. A green, a purple with four golden spikes, a blue and a pair of silver blades were flung, gathering near the ankles of the brunette, surrounding her in a circle. All the boys blurted together, "Listen to Hilary!"
The blades didn't stop spinning, they were rotating, centering the chocolate-haired girl just like the planets circumambulating the sun. Closing her eyes, the brunette requested, "Oh, the holy bit-beasts! I welcome you to confide yourselves in me. Please, enter my body. Give me strength so that I can face whoever want to destroy us and defeat it!"
Her appeal came successful as the blades started glowing in golden, azure-blue, purple, scarlet and silver. The flames of the candles shivered, fainting before the ethereal radiance emitted by the blades. One by one, an aquamarine dragon, a crimson phoenix, a white tiger, a black turtle and a golden dragon came out from them, following the order of the brunette. Their combined screeches were earsplitting, making the floor dance under the feet of the bladers more and more but the position of Hilary was fixed there, at their center. The unknown bit-beast gasped, unable to utter a single word at the flow of so many colors and resonations.
Like five streams of cascades flowing towards the earth from the peaks of high mountains, the bit-beasts smoothly surged towards the brunette, dissolving themselves in her body. She was shaken a bit, feeling the sudden amount of so much energy in herself. When she opened her eyes, the bladers became surprised. From ruby, they went deep ebony, darker than ink. All the candles in the silver lamp-stands attached to the walls went extinguished but the brunette was glowing so brightly, so majestically that they didn't feel any absence of light there. She walked towards the invisible bit-beast which was visible to her now. Her feet weren't shivering, there was not a bit of fear or confusion in her heart. The spirits of five sacred bit-beasts were in her body now. Why should she fear anyone?
"No…." The quivering tone of the creature could be heard, "Don't…"
Bladebreakers smirked, looking at one another. Before a while, the same bit-beast was had been feeling proud, saying that it could never be murdered or defeated by anyone or anything in this world. Why was it so afraid now?
No, it was right. It could never be defeated by any single beyblade, any blader, any bit-beast, any worldly weapon, any pure element in this world. But the one who was standing in front of her wasn't a blader. Neither she had a blade in her hand, nor was she a bit-beast-yet, holding the power of all the sacred spirits, holding the power of all the elements in this world. Her chocolate locks hovered around her own face; her blackened eyes were emotionless, cold. Whenever she was stepping towards him, it could hear the fierce roars of the bit-beasts, being her messengers. It tried to flee…but where would it go? Wherever it was trying to go, it was seeing only and only the brunette.
"You will be no more now!"
Hilary looked at her right hand where a six-foot long spear appeared, colored red, blue, green, violet and yellow. Its blade was shining, bright enough to blind the bit-beast. Clenching her teeth, she lifted it, flinging it at her target. The javelin glided, cutting the airstream and piercing the invisible, gaseous body of the bit-beast. Its sharp, horrible cry echoed in the same room where, even before a few minutes, its sadistic exultation had been being reverberated. Right then, fire spread all over the corners of the chamber. Like a monster, the beast was screeching but nothing could give his relief from the pangs of death at that time. Nothing in this world.
The boys cheered, jumping and punching in the air. Turning back, Hilary didn't waste a single moment, rushing towards the fallen captain of Bladebreakers. Placing his head again on her lap, she kept a hand on his sweaty forehead which already turned purple. As she closed her eyes, the phoenix, the turtle, the tiger, both the dragons, bit by bit, came out from her body, returning to their blades. At the same time, Kai's body also retrieved its original color as all the poison was gone, sucked by the sacred bit-beasts of him and his friends. The bladers caught their blades, the brunette slowly opened her eyes which retrieved the same previous ruby shades.
"Ray…Tyson…Max…" She exhaustedly huffed, "Kai is still weak. We have to take him from here as soon as possible! Do hurry!"
Sharply nodding, the neko-jin and the dragoon-wielder came near the limp, yet, alive body of the phoenix-prince and lifted him gently, by his arms and legs. Max helped Hilary stand up as she went pale and weak too. After all, possessing the sacred bit-beasts in body wasn't someone's cup of tea. Together, they ran out from the chamber, pulling their legs faster and leaving the castle for burning.
"Mhmm…"
The whimpering moan of pain escaped from the throat of the phoenix-prince as his eyes heavily fluttered, squinting at the light present around him. His body felt weighty and numb as he discovered himself lying on the soft, comfortable bed in his room. Despite the problems, removing the blanket that was covering up to his chin, he tried to wake up but out of nowhere, two arms caught his back for his aid, squeezing his shoulders. His head was wheeled to a pair of concerned ruby eyes. He immediately recognized them.
"Don't get up now, you need rest," Hilary propped his back softly against the pillow leaning towards the headboard of the bed, "Wait here, I'm bringing your medicine."
From the side-table, she poured some water into a glass, handing it to him with a tablet. Kai quickly guzzled it though he hated medicines to no end.
"How're you feeling now?" Hilary sat beside him, "Okay?"
"Better…." He shortly replied.
"Thank goodness…" She sighed in relief, "For a moment, you really frightened me…" Flushing, she rephrased, "I mean, us."
"Where are others?" Kai asked, from the same concern for his teammates that he still had in his heart.
"I sent them to sleep," Hilary replied, "They wanted to stay beside you but this day went hectic for them too. They need rest as much as you need it now."
"And you?"
"Me?" Hilary blushed, shrugging, "Why? I didn't do anything special to save you."
"Don't lie," Kai glared at her, "You're bad at it, you know."
"Huh?" The brunette frowned.
"I…" The phoenix-prince stopped for a while, taking a sharp breath, "I might not be in senses but I felt everything, Hilary."
"What did you feel?" She narrowed her eyes.
"The way you saved me," The Russian lifted one of her hands into his paws, giving a small smile to her, "Looks like I didn't make any mistake when I indirectly took you in our team. Thanks, Hilary."
Her eyes welled again as she, unknowingly, rested her head on his chest along with her palms. Sniffing, she shook her head, "I've learnt it only from you, Kai. You know, you're not only my love, but also my inspiration, my strength, my courage, my everything you are! I should be the one who should thank you from the core of her heart. This Hilary Tachibana will be grateful to you forever, Kai!"
The Russian didn't reply, rather, pulling her closer to his chest and binding his arms around her. The bandages around his chest were drenched due to her tears but he didn't mind, rather, he felt his wounds soothing and healing by her holy waterworks. She could be fierce and pacifying at the same time and he admired this trait of her to no end. Somehow, she mumbled those three words to him amidst her tears. Instead of gasping or turning red, he just smiled again, holding her firmly.
"Aishiteru, my savior." He softly whispered.
He didn't know whether she could listen to him or not, already she was asleep on his chest. Kai decided not to bother her because she also needed to sleep, after such a fierce and hard battle against the unknown bit-beast. Pulling the blanket over themselves, he leaned back on his pillow, turning off the lights and letting the non-blader travel through the lanes of his heart in her slumber.
Done! Thus, this two-shot is complete! How's it, dear people? Hope you all have liked it. See, Hilary is already strong. I have read a few fics where she becomes a blader. Of course, I have no objection against that (Rather, I feel proud and happy whenever I see her blading in any of the fics, they just win my heart) but personally I think that for proving her strength, her potential, she doesn't need to launch a beyblade-which makes her unique among all the Beyblade characters. Even Kai also understood it in V-force, and that's why, he didn't hesitate to apply her methods, thus indirectly providing a place for her in the team. Who agrees with me? Share your views!
Dear Ellie, there's it. I hope you've liked your bday gift though it was belated. Thank you so much for staying right by me always, dear sis *Hugs you*
