Lily could feel herself moving. They had loaded her onto some type of vehicle and were bringing her farther and farther away from people who could help her.

Who were they? What did they want with her? Would she ever see her family and friends again?

Voices drifted toward her from the front of the vehicle.

"What are we going to do with her? The other girl saw us take her so she'll surely warn the others."

"Let her. The Avatar needs to know who he's up against. Maybe we can capture him too."

One of them snorted. "Good luck with that."

Lily privately agreed. Nobody could defeat her dad.

Her kidnappers' voices faded, leaving Lily in silence.

She airbent the sack off of her and flipped into a lotus position. She concentrated.

Her spirit form disconnected from her body and floated outside of the vehicle.

She was on some sort of train powered by earthbending. One of the earthbenders saw her spirit form and screamed.

Lily's spirit collided forcefully with her body as the train suddenly stopped.

The sudden cease in movement threw Lily to the ground. Her head exploded with pain as it hit the hard stone floor.

People ran into her car and saw her laying on the ground.

"Trying to escape? Well, good luck," said one and snickered.

Lily gritted her teeth and tried to sit up, gasping when a wave of nausea hit her.

The kidnappers laughed.

"You know, she is kinda pretty," one of them said. "I wouldn't mind if she was mine."

"Eh, make her yours. We don't care. It'll just get the Avatar here faster."

The man who wanted Lily to be his reached down and lifted her.

"Get your hands off of me."

The man laughed. "Not a chance."

Lily was too weak to fight back as he carried her into a dark car.

The man put her down and she scooted away from him.

Dad, please hurry.

The man chuckled darkly and grabbed her arm, twisting it painfully.

Lily's vision blurred as the pain registered.

The man let go of her, and she fell to the ground.

"Weak."

Lily threw her arm at him, airbending a wave of wind at him. He hit the side of the car.

"None of that," he said and earthbent the stone floor to restrain her.

Lily stared at him with fear as he got in her face. He lowered the stone to her waist and removed her shirt.

He stared at her chest as he removed her bra. Lily fought to try and keep it on, but he tore it off.

The man held her arms as he adjusted the stone. Lily twisted her wrist and he flipped onto the floor.

She gritted her teeth as she pulled herself out of the stone.

Lily grabbed her shirt and threw it on.

She latched the door, hearing banging almost immediately after.

"What's going on in there?"

Lily didn't respond, instead centering herself. She pushed out her hands, causing the stone wall of the car to explode with the force of her bending.

More banging and screaming came from the door. Someone would bend the door down soon.

Lily jumped out of the hole, not looking back.

She floated in the air--thanks to her bending--and watched the train whiz by.

Lily slowly floated down to the ground.

An explosion could be heard as the door to the car was blasted open.

Lily winced as she heard a scream that was loud enough to hear from ten miles away.

She could no longer see the train. That was probably a good thing because if she could see them, they could see her.

Lily looked to see what she was standing in front of.

A massive swamp towered over her head. She could recall her father telling her about his forced visit to a similar swamp during the time of the Hundred-Year-War. Maybe this was the one he had been talking about.

Lily carefully stepped into the swamp, cringing when her foot landed in a pile of squishy sludge.

"Ugh!"

Lily knew she would have to cross the swamp to find her way back home. What she didn't know was how.

Her father had told her of his adventure in the swamp, including how it led him to meet Toph. He, her mother, and her uncle had all been separated. Then, they all witnessed visions of people they cared about (or would care for) and found each other once more.

Lily prayed that she would make it through the swamp alive. Her parents were friends with some of its inhabitants, but the swamp was alive. She couldn't be sure of what it would do.

Lily tried to remember other things her father had said about the swamp. Maybe that was all.

Lily hoped that she would be able to survive with her limited knowledge.

As she traveled deeper into the swamp, the opening in the trees that she had entered from closed.

Lily kept trekking on, unaware of what had happened.

She was trapped in the swamp.
