Soft.

That was the only thought that drifted through Naruto's mind as he awoke from his slumber, blinking his eyes as he came face to face with Rias, his master. She was leaning over his head, her hair falling to form a crimson curtain around them, her teal coloured eyes filled with amusement stared down at him.

"Good morning...again" she giggled down at him.

"Umm Morning" the nervousness in his voice was easy to hear.

Sitting up, Naruto looked at her to see she was fully clothed in some kind of school uniform, his eye trailed down to where his head had been.

Her lap, his head had been resting on her lap. The legendary place of comfort all men seeked.

The lap pillow.

His face burned, Was this the sort of thing common for the she devil? If that was the case he didn't really mind being a servant.

"Your clothes from last night were ruined so I picked some fresh ones out for you, the only thing left was your key and this" pulling her hand from her back she handed him a piece of fabric.

It was his headband, the sight of the familiar orange and black spiral made him smile slightly.

"Get dressed, we have a lot to discuss" Rias ordered.

Take it the clothes that were laid out form him Naruto vanished behind a curtain and began changing.

"So umm about before, you said something about you being a devil and me being your servant?" He called out to her.

"That's right, Last night both you and that boy Hyoudou Issei-Kun died, to save your life I made you and him a part of my peerage or servants in devil terms" she clarified. "But rest assured I treat my servants like family so both of you will be well taken care of" She finished.

"So you have more servants like us?" She could see his shadow mimicking his movement as he pulled his pants up.

"That's right, not including the two of you I have four other members of my peerage, you will meet them at a later point" she said.

"So how exactly are we supposed to serve you?" Naruto asked as he came out from behind the curtain.

Rias looked him over nodding slightly, He was wearing a black button up shirt that looked like it was made from denim with the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, dark blue jeans that hugged his frame nicely, a pair of white converse to add some light to his look and finally his orange headband of course pushing his bangs up while the two long ones framed his face.

"You look good, I'm glad I got your sizes right. But we will have to finish this devil talk later when everyone is together" Rias sat down on a bed while gesturing to Naruto to sit on the opposite bed.

"Now the important question at the moment is who are you Naruto?" Rais asked.

"Huh...what do you mean?"

"While you've slept I've been looking into you and turned up with nothing, no school documents, no medical history, no address, no relatives, nothing at all. Evidence suggests that you don't exist and yet here you sit right in front of me, so I will ask you again who are you?" She questioned.

"Well umm… My name is Uzumaki Naruto...My birthday is the 10th of October… umm ahh...My favourite food is all kinds of ramen, I'm an orphan and I ran away from the orphanage when I was 8, I've never been to school before….umm oh! I have been couch surfing from different peoples sofas….I got involved with people I probably shouldn't have but I needed money to eat...umm sorry it's pretty hard trying to think of everything about me" Naruto answered honestly while scratching the back of his head.

Rias had been silent as she stared at him, watching his facial expression and listening to the tones of his voice, she could read humans like they were an open book, that was a devil's gift, to be able to sense their wants and desires and bring that honesty to the surface, but this boy in front of her didn't show any hidden desires or secret wants.

He was just honest.

Smiling at him "That's ok you've given me more than enough at the moment but I do hope you'll continue to tell me about yourself" She finished.

Standing up they made their way out from the infirmary to the main building, as they walked down the stairs Naruto could only marvel at how large the building was.

"So umm what happens now?" He asked as they reached the main doors.

"Now? Well I have to leave for school so you're free to do what you want until I finish, but I want you to meet me at the school's gate when class ends ok?" Rias ordered as she turned to leave but stopped "How old are you Naruto?" She questioned.

"Umm 17 why?" Rais smiled mischievously.

"No reason, I'll see you later" Rias waved over her shoulder as she left him.

Naruto watched her hair dance in the breeze as she moved, like crimson flames flickering in the wind.

"Beautiful…" he muttered as she walked away.

...YoU'Re bEiNg WaTcHeD…

"Huh?" Looking around Naruto spotted a young bespectacled woman with a slim figure, black hair styled in a short bob cut and violet eyes looking down at him from one of the pillars on the second floor, She wore the same uniform as Rias.

Her eyes widened slightly when he turned and looked directly at her, before smiling at him and left.

"The hell was that about?" Naruto muttered out loud.

"Ok ok jeez, I really need to talk to Rias about this voice".

Scene Change

Devils den motel

Getting off a bus Naruto looked up to see the motel's sign.

'Devils den huh? I wonder if it's somehow related to Rias?' He thought.

Walking through the parking lot Naruto headed up the stairs and found room 9 on the second floor, Using the key from Jirobo Naruto unlocked the door and let it slowly open.

The room itself held a depressing vibe, the curtains were drawn only allowing small rays of light into the main room, trash littered throughout the room with thin layers of dust. Entering the room Naruto looked around to see that the main room held essentials for living, A small 32" tv sat on top of a cabinet, a brown leather three seater sofa sat pushed against the back wall, a small divider wall near the front door separated the main living room to form a small kitchen with a couple of wall cupboards. Close in the Door behind him Naruto spotted three more doors, two of which were standard plain bedrooms while the third room was small bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink.

'For a motel this place is pretty nice' he thought to himself.

Walking back to the main room Naruto spotted a small safe that Jirobo had told him about, going to it Naruto pulled the handle to find it unlocked with the money still inside.

'Why have a safe if you don't lock it?' He thought with a sweat drop.

Counting the money he was surprised to find it came to 105193.00 (1000).

'Thanks Jirobo, Kidomaru'.

After spending a few hours throwing out the trash along with other junk Naruto looked out to see the sun was starting to set.

Putting the money in the smaller bedroom Naruto was just about to lock the door when a weird sensation rippled past him.

"What the fuck was that?!" He exclaimed.

Looking around he could see the once busy street was now empty of life, the sky had changed from its brilliant orange glow to now an empty gray.

...A bArRiEr…

"A barrier? What's that?"

BOOOOOOM!

"Gah!" The small build shook from a shock wave that followed after the explosion.

Looking to smoke rising in the distance, Naruto quickly locked the door before sprinting towards it.

...StAy AwAy…

"No can do creepy voice! It might more those black winged assholes from last night!" Huh was it just him or was he going really fast?

'I don't even feel winded' he thought as rushed into the forest.

Reaching the clearing Naruto knew instantly he was way out of his depth.

In the distance Naruto could see multiple deformed creatures all hulking in figure with sharp claws, dark purple skin, glowing red eyes with goblin like features and razor teeth, they were surrounding two girls who looked like they had seen better days.

Standing back-to-back against one another, those two girls were amidst the sea of creatures. Which were obviously here with deadly intentions.

Among them, the shorter one was a short girl with childish features, with very risque clothing...if it could be called that anyways.

She wore what looked like a black leather top that only covered her up to her ribs and two black straps crisscrossing to make an 'X' over her stomach.

She also wore pink and white striped stockings, as well as a pair of, quite visible, black underwear.

Her long silver hair, which reached to the middle of her back, was flailing around as she jerked her head around her, and her purple eyes were glistening sharply at the dangerous situation that she found herself in.

Naruto frowned, narrowing his eyes, studying her closer as he noticed something framing the crown of her head.

...

Wait, were those horns?

Naruto couldn't help but do a double-take at the sight of the little horns on the girl's head, but quickly snapped himself out of it.

Now really wasn't the time to stare.

So, taking the chance that was given to him in the apparent lull in the fighting, the blond focused his attention on the other figure who, he assumed, to be the silverette's partner.

The other girl was far more, physically at least, likely to be around the blond's age, and thankfully didn't make him feel like he was committing a crime by staring.

She had vibrant red hair, which was partially pulled into two separate pigtails that were held together with a pair of long black strings, with the rest of her hair flowing freely down to her waist, framing her pink eyes.

In terms of physique, she was practically the polar opposite of the other girl; as she had quite the voluptuous body, which was contained in a pink top that was hanging on her shoulders, and a frilly blue skirt to complete her ensemble.

All in all, the duo was quite the interesting pair. One that most wouldn't see everyday.

And they were both clearly under great distress, since they were up against multiple monsters on all sides.

...TuRn AwAy…

"I can't just leave them to die creepy voice!" He replied.

Running out towards them Naruto did something incredibly stupid.

"Hey you ugly fucks!" The creatures all turned towards him growling with saliva dripping from their large jaws, eyes glowing with hunger.

The two girls looking at him with their jaws hanging in disbelief.

Having stopped the moment all eyes set on him Naruto could feel the sweat slide down from his brow.

"Uhh hi?".

...PaThEtIc…

Shit…

The creatures stared at him for a moment before charging at him "RUN!" Naruto ordered the two girls, as the beast closed in on him Naruto turned and ran hoping to put distance between the creatures and the girls.

...DuCk!...

Listening to the voice he dropped just in time for a claw to swing past his head at blinding speeds.

"Thank you!"

As Naruto ducked and dodged poorly past the incoming attacks he spotted the strange silver haired girl charging at one of the monsters.

"What are you doing?! Stop! You're going to get yourself killed!" Naruto exclaimed as he rushed towards her.

Not listening to the voice Naruto continued his sprint towards her.

The said silver haired charged right in the largest creature with her tiny fist clenched tightly, pulling her fist back she launched a strike at the monster's core.

Naruto expected a lot of things to happen, like the monster bating her away like an annoying fly or even for it not to take notice of her.

He did not expect her to send the creature flying through the air like a rocket on steroids!

The power and pressure from the small girl's attack caused the wind to blow out around them like a typhoon.

"HOLY SHIT!" Naruto could feel himself being pushed away by the strong winds

...ToLd YoU…

"HAAAA!~" The red haired girl cried out above them as a massive torrent of flame spewed out from a glowing circle covered in hieroglyphics in front of her. The flames hit the ground creating a sea of fire, burning the majority of the creatures from existence.

She gazed at her handiwork smirking while she did so, oblivious to the looming shadowy figure over her.

The figure raised its arm in a striking position before stabbing the girl in her right shoulder with its razor claws, blood rained down from the wound splattering across the battlefield.

Her pain filled scream echoed, drawing both his and the other girl's attention towards her as she hit the ground.

"Mio-Sama!" The smaller girl exclaimed as she tried to make her way over to her fallen friend only to be intercepted by the creatures "Tch, get out of my way!".

Naruto's wide eyes stared at the downed girl as the blood stains grew on her clothes, his attention turned towards the landed creature as it stalked slowly towards her. Growling as it got closer to her, Naruto quickly put himself between the creature and the girl, his body took on a poor combat stance.

"You're not getting near her asshole" Naruto said definitely.

The beast seemed to understand what he said as it grinned menacingly before it vanished and reappeared inches away from his face, Naruto barely had time to widen his eyes before the beast wrapped its clawed hand around his neck lifting him from the ground with no effort at all, the beast turned so that it's back was facing the unconscious girl while Naruto could see her.

Naruto grunted as the beast grip tightened around his throat, he gripped at the monster's wrist with his legs lashing out, kicking nothing but air due the length of the beast's arm.

He could feel the veins in his face bulge as the beasts grip tightened heckling as it did so, Naruto could feel his lungs burn, desperate for fresh oxygen as he struggled to breath.

His eyes drifted from the monster down to the unconscious girl, her battered form showing in the reflection of his eye. 'I have to do...something!' He thought desperately.

A demonic dark chuckle echoed throughout his mind caused Naruto to stiffen.

Naruto locked eyes with the growling beast when he felt its girp lessened, The creature's face held nothing but pure primordial fear. It's body shook as it stared at him, the best slowly lowered him to the ground, It quickly stumbled back once it had released him it's body drenched it's cold sweat.

The other creatures had also stopped fighting with the silvered haired, they all stared at him showing the same features as the one in front of him. One by one the monsters vanished as a glowing circle similar to the one the red haired girl had used appeared under them.

Once they were all gone Naruto could only look around in confusion "What just happened?" He muttered.

...I HaPpEnEd…

"Well whatever you did, you certainly helped us out so thanks" .

…NoT ThEm...YoU, OnLy YoU….

"Well either way you helped so again thanks" he said as he kneeled over the fallen girl, checking her over Naruto could see the blood pooling around the wound, the wound itself didn't look too bad considering how she got it.

Looking at her face he could see the grimaces of pain flash over her features, not only that but going by the bags under her eyes this girl was extremely exhausted, her breathing was short and weak as if trying to catch her breath.

"What do you think?" He asked the voice.

...DoN't CaRe…

Rolling his eyes at the voice he turned at the sound of footsteps rapidly making their way over to them.

"Mio-Sama!" She exclaimed worryingly, kneeling next to him she began looking over the pigtailed girl.

"The wound doesn't look too bad, it'll just need cleaning and she will hopefully be fine but she's in desperate need of some rest" Naruto said to her.

The girl let out a sigh of relief at the news and nodded her thanks, moving to her young charge in order to pick her up with her strength.

In the process of this, she was going to thank their savior properly, before she froze up.

Naruto frowned at the silverette's sudden reaction, becoming wary of another attack. "What's wrong? Did they come back?"

"No, no...it isn't that." the girl with the 'horns' replied, her eyebrows scrunching as she pondered on their bad position.

The reason that she was locking up was simple, they needed a place to crash, unfortunately, as their last refuge was found out by the very stray devils that were hunting them down.

No doubt, to them, they were probably just like two tasty snacks to be devoured.

If they returned to their last refuge now...then she had no doubt that they would be attacked by even more stray devils, especially the ones that were instinctively looking to raise their own strength.

Her young charge was half-human, and the unique smell that she had thanks to her...ancestry, helped attract stray devils from quite the distance away to her, in the hopes that they could eat what they viewed as a delicacy.

Before she could fall into despair due to their situation, an idea sprang to mind, which could probably buy them some reprieve; a temporary home.

A safe place to rest.

Internally preparing herself, she quickly turned to their blond savior and pitched her idea. hopeful. "...My young charge is wounded and unconscious, while I am tired from the day's fight. Taking that into account, I'd like to ask you whether you could offer us a temporary home where we could recuperate. In return for this favor...I wouldn't mind doing whatever you want for payment."

Even as she was speaking, she was cringing at the possible degrading things that she may have to endure, well aware that offering herself up like that could very well remove the young man's inhibitions.

But...it was fine, as long as it was for her charge's sake.

She was her guardian, and even if she rarely conversed with her, she was still someone that she would guard, no matter what.

Which was why she was locking eyes intensely with the blond, showing him her grim determination.

Only to blink when she saw his face looking back at her with both rage and disgust etched on to it.

"What the hell do I look like to you huh?! I ain't some perverted bastard looking to get his leg over!" He shouted angrily while pointing at her.

"Eh..? N..No I didn't mean to insinuate that you-".

Cutting her off he continued his rant "Listen here chibi! Next time you want a favour from someone, DON'T accuse them of being a sex predator!".

The small girl could only look down to the ground while mumbling out a 'sorry', Sighing in frustration Naruto rubbed his head, looking back over to the unconscious girl he felt the voice make its presence known again.

Keeping his voice low "Why? I know the chibi was rude but I still think we should help them out".

Shaking his head Naruto replied quietly "I can't do that creepy voice, you saw...well I think you saw what happened to them, they need our help or well be as bad as those monsters who were trying to kill them".

The voice became silent leaving Naruto to his own thoughts, though he did frown at what it had said.

Why did its warning sound more like a...threat?.

Deciding to push that thought away for the moment he scooped the unconscious girl up into a bridal carry before facing the silver haired lolita.

"Come on my place isn't that far from here" he said as he started walking towards the motel with the girl in his arms.

"Really?!" She exclaimed.

"Sure, I'm still a little pissed at you chibi but leaving the two of you would leave a bad taste in my mouth" Naruto replied, The girl blinked before a wide smile took form on her face. "Now...introductions! Something simple. My name is Uzumaki Naruto. Your turn!".

"Huh? Oh...! Well, my name is Naruse Maria, and the unconscious girl here is my charge; Naruse Mio." the now dubbed Maria said, a growing smile splitting her face.

Naruto blinked at that, the red-head was Maria's charge?.

Huh...

Shouldn't it be the other way around?

"Oh, by the way, Mio-sama is the daughter of the previous Maou Lucifer, so please make sure she is safe. I'll be counting on you Naruto-sama!" Maria piped up cheerfully, moving up to the blond and walking side-by-side to him.

Naruto's head snapped in her direction before snapping towards the red head, His eyes taking on the form of large white circles.

He repeated this process three more times.

...Eh?

EEEEEEHHHHHHH!?

If either he or Maria had bothered to turn around to look into the direction of that shadowy forest hidden in bushes, they would have seen a pair of eyes watching them as they left.

A pair of golden eyes that narrowed on their retreating forms.

Scene change

After dropping the girls off at the apartment Naruto arrived at the gates just in time as the students were leaving through them.

He was greeted with various expressions.

The girls were all looking at him giggling while whispering among themselves while the guys were all glaring at muttering something about another blond pretty boy.

The teachers present all looked at him curiously but some of them were fishing in their pockets trying to get the phones out.

Naruto could only sweat drop at their antics, leaning against the wall besides the gate he patiently waited for Rias.

While waiting he thought about the conversation Maria and he had, while they were walking towards the apartment Maria had been questioning him about how he had found them. After telling her how he was caught in a barrier she revealed that she was the one who had created the barrier so that the humans didn't take notice of their battle, She took the barrier down once they had arrived at his residence which resulted in the people who had vanished returned.

Lost in thought he didn't notice Rias standing right beside him trying to get his attention. Smiling mischievously as she leaned up to him, her lips inches away from his ear.

"Hello again~" she whispered.

"Jesus-OW!" Naruto hands clasped against his head as hell a searing headache went through his mind.

Hearing giggling he shot the crimson haired beauty a dirty look who looked amused at his reaction.

"You can no longer take the lord's name in vain since becoming a part of my peerage" She told him while smiling "Come, it's time we get you introduced to the others".

Nodding Naruto followed Rais through the gates passing various students who all looked shocked at Rais arrival, they headed towards what looked like an old school house "That there is our clubhouse and my base of operation for devil related matters" she explained.

Entering the building they made their way up the stairs towards two large doors, Rias entered first with Naruto following. Looking around the large room he could see two sofas facing each other with a small wooden coffee table between them, at the back of the room a large desk sat slightly away from the sofas. The rooms only source of light was the flickering burning candles littered throughout the room, tucked in the corner of the room was what looked like a changing room of sorts.

Looking around the room there were four people, not including him and Rais were waiting in the room. There were two girls dressed in the uniforms as Rias while the two boys were dressed in the males uniform.

He recognised the brown haired boy he had tried to save, Issei, if he remembered correctly from Rias, looked shocked at his arrival.

The second male had blond hair and blueish grey eyes with a mole under the left one, he held a pleasant smile as he noticed their arrival, Naruto assumed this was the other blond bastard he heard from the students before.

Next was a little lady that looked very young. He knew that if she was going to high school she had to at least be 14, but with her slim, petite figure, and cute, lolita face, she looked a year younger.

She had hazel colored eyes and her hair was a pure white color with two long bangs at the front that ran down past her shoulders and several loose bangs hanging over her forehead, while the back was cut in a short bob cut hair style. On either side of her hair were a pair of black, cat shaped hair clips.

She was also, Naruto noticed, incredibly cute, like some kind of cuddly mascot. She was half way through enjoying a candy bar although she send him a weary look when he entered.

The last was a gorgeous, buxom young woman with long raven colored hair, violet eyes, pale skin and breasts that looked almost as large as Tsunade's. Her hair was tied into a long pony-tail, reaching all the way down to her legs, with two antennas sticking out from the top and sloping backwards while an orange ribbon kept it in place. As noted before, she was absolutely gorgeous.

Naruto believed the term people used for someone like her was Yamato Nadeshiko, which, if he was remembering this correctly, was the term used to describe the ideal Japanese woman.

"It's you! The guy from last night" Issei shouted while pointing at him.

Naruto gave him a nervous wave and a shaky smile "Hey, good to see you again".

"Let's get everyone acquainted first, everyone this is Uzumaki Naruto, Naruto you of course remember Issei" Rias gestured to the brown haired boy.

Nodding Naruto stepped forward with an arm extended "It's nice to properly meet you kid".

Issei took the outstretched hand clasping it with his own "Likewise I'm Hyodou Issei Naruto-sa Hey! Wait a minute, who are you calling kid?! You look the same age as me dammit!" Issei fumed.

Naruto chuckled to himself, he could see why Kidomaru did this to him, this was fun!

"Now now Issei, it isn't good to lash out at the man who sacrificed his life to try and save you" Rias said jokingly causing said boy to grumble about the blond.

The other blond stepped forward with a pleasant smile, his own arm outstretched "Greeting Uzumaki-Kun my name is Kiba Yuuto, I look forward to working with you".

Shaking his hand, Naruto grinned "Likewise, it's good to meet you".

Kiba nodded and stepped away, looking at the next person she seemed to be trying to stay as far away as possible from him.

"Huhmmm~" Rias cleared her throat while giving the short girl a pointed look, the said girl seemed to understand the hidden message but became more uncomfortable as she approached him.

"Toujou Koneko nice to meet you" she said in an emotionless tone while extending her hand but going by the look on her face she didn't want to be anywhere near him.

Naruto frowned, had he done something to upset this girl? Deciding to try a sway her opinion of him, he took her hand and gave it a genital shack "It's a pleasure to meet you Koneko-Chan" He gave her his best grin but was disappointed when she quickly let go and retreated back to Kiba's side, who looked at her with a confused and worried look.

Rias sighed as she looked at him with an apologetic smile.

"Ara Ara Ufufufu Such a handsome young man has joined our little group" the black haired beauty said she approached him, She offered him a bow "It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Himejima Akeno, please take care of me" she finished with a beautiful smile.

"Ah-" coughing trying to cover up the loose of his voice seemed to amuse her going by her giggling, he tried again only this time his blush was way more noticeable "Not at all, please treat me well Akeno-San" bowing in return.

"Excellent! Now Issei, Naruto take a seat and we can get started" Rias said.

The two did as ordered and sat on the sofas opposite each other, while the rest went and stood behind Rias.

"Now then first and foremost welcome to the occult research club" the red head gestured to the room, "and also welcome to my peerage" now gesturing those behind her.

Issei and Naruto nodded with slight smiles on their faces "Of course the occult club is just a front for the other students that go here and a bit of a hobby for us, the main purpose of it is to hide our devil's dealings" Rias continued.

"Now I told you both that I was a devil and that you two are my servants which was true, however it goes beyond that" Looking directly at the young men her gaze sharpened "Last night you both died and I brought you both back as a part of peerage but that's not all I did." Nodding to the three behind her.

They seemed to understand as one by one black crooked wings flourished from their lower backs, flapping slightly as they unveiled.

Both Issei and Naruto's eyes widened in shock as they stared at the wings "When you become a servant or again peerage member to a devil, you in turn become a devil, stand up please" Rias instructed as she unveiled her own wings.

Listening they both stood and they understood why, Issei stumbled forward as his own black crooked wings burst from his lower back, flapping slightly as they felt the air for the first time.

Then it was Naruto's turn...

But it wasn't what they had expected to happen.

Two large bat like wings burst from between his shoulder blades, kicking up the wind as flapped for the first time, the wings themselves looked like they had been dyed in eternal darkness as they allowed no light through, but at the same time the black leathery flaps seemed more...functional than theirs.

Everyone present had their eyes wide and jaws hanging at the sight of the demonic looking wings.

Taking notice of his large shadow behind him Rias could only think of how this boy in front of her was so...surprising!

But their reactions were nothing compared to his…

"Holy fuck! I have wings?! Wait… why do they look different to yours? Wait… can we actually fly with these things?! Can we?!"

His excited expression was certainly well needed distraction from the revelations.

"Well that was...unexpected" Rias said hesitantly as she gazed at his wings as he folded and flexed them a couple of times, his expression growing even more excited as he did so "But anyways it's time we fill you both in on how our little operation works" she finished.

It was time to introduce the boys to the world of the supernatural.
