Tears fall from her eyes and she says in a really low voice, "I need to see them, just once, I won't let them know I am alive, I'll see them from far that would be enough"

"One last look" he says raising an eyebrow and she nods, he holds her head and shows her her friends, this is not what she meant and she knows it's useless to further ask him for this, there is no way he is letting her go anywhere.

Someone rings the door bell and she wonders who it is, Klaus attends the door and it's room service, turns out Klaus had ordered food for them both, Klaus beckons her to join him, it's Mac and cheese and she has to admit she is famished. She enjoys the meal, yes she eating after almost an year, after they are done eating there is a knock again and this time the waiter has come to collect their plates.

The dinner was in silence, but after the attendant leaves with their plates she can't help but question, "Klaus, what happened to your family, where's Rebekah? Elijah and the others."

Klaus' face turns to stone and she thinks she has hit a nerve, he says, "why? Do you want to gloat?"

"No, I am asking because there is no way you would ask me to take care of Hope if they were around, tell me what happened to them"

He speeds to her and she moves back a little, "If you're looking for a way to gloat at my misery then know that I will make you suffer for this."

"Fine" she says, "Don't answer me, why do I care." She takes her place back in the chair.

Klaus closes his eyes in pain recalling how Lucien killed each one of them, he bit Elijah and Finn and to Freya he had ripped her heart out after turning into the beast he was, he recalls Kol and Hayley went to pick Rebekah and there he killed all three of them, it was Marcel who put his life on the line so that Klaus may runaway with Hope and that was the day he lost his son again.

Elena sees his reflection on the mirror and it is the first time she sees this monster crying, tears falling down his eyes, she feels the need to go near him and comfort him but stops herself thinking he might react aggressively. She sees him trying to control his tears and attain that monstrous face again. He is not making any sound so that she may not know how weak he is in this moment and she knows Klaus wouldn't like it if she sees him like this so she turns around. She questioned him because she didn't believe when he first told her that he is the only one alive but his tears tell her his truth and she feels bad for questioning him on this

She had fallen asleep on the chair looking at the baby, she woke at the middle of the night with Hope's cry, turned out Hope needed a diaper change and yes they had bought diapers from the super market too. She goes and opens the bag to take out a fresh diaper and takes Hope into the bathroom where she could change her, she cleans the baby up, applies anti rash lubricant and makes her all set for bed again, the baby giggles.

When she turns around carrying the baby in one of her shoulders she finds Klaus standing just behind her, she is stunned. Klaus looks at her and knows she is a bit horrified by him following her here so before she could say anything he says, "I went out to pick some clothes for you and when I returned I saw you and Hope both missing, I thought you had run away with my baby, I was so mad."

"Klaus" she stops him midway, "she needed a diaper change that's it". He looks at her holding the dirty diaper carefully packed in a plastic bag, in one hand and his daughter in the other, "Thank you Elena" he says, "that's the reason I cannot let you go, I want you here for my child." Elena doesn't say anything to him, she walks past him, throws the dirty diaper in a dustbin and takes Hope to the bed.

Klaus walks to her and hands her a duffel bag, "Some clothes for you, go and change, I'll watch Hope till then." She goes to the ensuite, takes a shower and changes into one of the night gowns he had brought for her, the gown falls down to her ankles and the neck is quite big as compared to what she wears but not as big so as to make her uncomfortable.

She walks out to witness a scene she never would have imagined, Klaus has fallen asleep on one side of the bed, Hope is lying next to him almost on his shoulder and tapping his chest ever so lightly, it looks like she is putting him to sleep. Elena watches this so adorable scene and soon Hope falls asleep too. She walks to the bed and straightens Hope, she puts a pillow between Hope and Klaus so that he may not crush her with his weight in case he turns in sleep, after making sure the baby is secure from all sides she covers her up with a baby blanket.

Next morning Klaus wakes up to find Hope sleeping with bridges of pillows around her, covered in a baby blanket, he looks around to see Elena and finds her lying on the couch with a sheet on her. He hears the knocks on the other doors, it is the house keeping staff, he opens the door before they could knock so that they might not disturb the sleep of his young one. He compels them to work without noise, the house keeping staff walks to where Elena and are about to wake her up when Klaus lifts her up and places her on the bed, the same place where he laid, they clean the living area and the ensuite, by this time Elena lazily opens her eyes and sees so many people in the room, she sits up and Klaus gestures her to freshen up while he sees Hope.

Elena takes a fresh pair of clothes from the duffel bag, Klaus had brought her jeans and tops like she used to wear in Mystic Falls, she takes them and enters the ensuite while Klaus looks for his daughter, after the room is cleaned, and the staff is out, Elena too comes out of the shower all dressed up. Elena is on Hope duty and Klaus is in the shower when Klaus' phone beeps, she picks it up to see a video message from someone named Vincent.

V, "Klaus wherever you are you need to run as fast and as far as you can see this" he shows a world map where several drops of blood are moving in the direction of New Orleans.

Klaus comes out of the shower in a towel, he snatches his phone away from her and says, "don't touch my things without my permission"

"I was just curious" she answers.

Klaus sees the message again and he knows that the ancestors have taken away Vincent's magic for siding with the vampires too many times for them to count. He looks at all his enemies trying to approach him then looks at her, "What do you think about a little blood donation Elena"

"You want to make hybrids to kill your enemies"

"Yes" he says, "I will take just one bag, just enough so that you recover soon and are able to take care of my daughter as well"

"Do I have a choice" she says and he smirks saying, "you don't"

"But" he says, "because my enemies are vampires I want you to take vervain again and this time I will teach you how to fight vampires, I want you to be able to protect Hope when the time comes."

She nods and he smiles "Just like old times Elena, just that this time, there is no running away from me" he leans to her, kisses her forehead and leaves. His words send shivers down her spine, she doesn't know whether she should be happy that he doesn't want her to continue the Petrova bloodline or should she be scared now that he wants her as his human blood bag too.
