Ending 1: Best Friends Forever
". . . You awake, Scrattch?"
". . .Hmm, yeah, yeah. Naps always end too soon."
I chuckled and said, "Yep-they-are!" I then looked up at how he had one of his finned arms draped over me, like a blanket of some kind. I felt pretty warm and save in this position, but it also made me wonder about something.
"Ya know," I said with a mischievous smile on my face, "If someone happened to walk by, they'd probably think we're a couple."
Scrattch smiled down at me innocently and said, "Yeah. . .a couple of best friends."
I nearly laughed out loud at his innocence, and I replied, "Well, yeah. Although most humans might see it different. They aren't into friendly cuddling as much as Pokemon are."
"Oh. That's terrible. They don't know what they're missing," Scrattch said, looking truly concerned by this revelation.
I did laugh out loud this time. I shook my head in amusement and said, "Alright, alright. We need to get back to our Trainer pretty soon."
Scrattch sighed as I wriggled out from under his arm. "Sure, Sniffer," he said, then he brightened up and said, "He'll probably make us some curry!"
"Maaaaaybe," I said as I stood up, then I turned to him as he stood up as well. Then I said, "I'm really glad we're still friends, Scrattch. I just love being your support and cheering you in your battles and just. . .well. . .making you smile."
Scrattch knelt down to me and said, "Yeah. And you're really good at those things. And ya know, just being the way you are. . .that's all I'd ever want from you. You're special, Sniffer, and I'm so lucky to even know you."
Hearing this caused my eyes to get the slightest bit misty. I blinked them a few times as I said, "Well. . . Scrattch. . .you're not just some random dragon either. To be honest, having your friendship makes me feel like I matter."
Scrattch then extended his claw and gently tapped the tip of my nose.
"Guess we were both just always meant to be friends! We're perfect for each other, and we're the happiest when we're together!" he said happily.
"Yep-we-are!" I chimed in.
Scrattch then spun around on his heels and swung his claws, shouting, "And I'll take down any Poison-type that tries to touch you!"
I laughed and began swinging my ribbons in a manner similar to his thrashing and said, "Well, I'll do my best to beat up any mean Fairy-type bullies that try to pick on you, Scrattch!"
"Yeah!"
"Uh-huh!"
"I'm hungry!"
"Then let's head back!"
The two of us then ran back to the Pokemon Center, certain of the fact that our friendship would last forever. Why wouldn't it? Our lives goals were parallel, we had no reason to go our separate ways, our personalities meshed well, and we REALLY enjoyed each other's' company. Maybe our situation was rare, in which case we would not take it for granted. A friendship likes ours comes few and far between.
