When he came back to his own self, he was in a cell. It was about 2*2m big, the rent for a thing like this couldn't be above 150€, even with the best location ever. Especially the mold, he thought, would bring the price down again. Even so, he did not plan on paying anything, even if they had the best breakfast ever. But judging by the plate in front of him with three pieces of hardtack on it (he had counted several times, it was indeed only three pieces), that was not the case.

Just as he started counting the pieces a fourth time, just to make sure, he heard wood creak, and a person enter, slowly. He got up.

In sight came the man who he had seen talking with Jake yesterday. The man had dark hair now (had he just imagined the blonde hair?) and green eyes. Eve standing straight, he did not look all too intimidating, probably owing to his small height and soft features. He had to hold back a chuckle.

Despite, he waited. He did not want to be the first to break silence. Would his voice shake if he started to speak now? Rather than test it, he waited. He looked into the man's eyes, that were obscured by the darkness, yet as he looked on, he thought to see dark specs in them. He continued to study them for a few seconds, yet when the man cleared his throat, it made the awkwardness apparent, and he had to look away.

It felt almost like a defeat. Since he was now the loser of the battle he had imagined himself to be waging, he gave in and spoke first: "Who are you?" And his voice was raspy after all. What an ultimate embarrassment. Voice clearer now, he added on: "And where is Jake?"

"Is that what he is called? He would not tell me his name…", the man had a deep voice, but spoke with a British accent.
"My name is Dayvi, I am the captain of this ship. You may want to join us, as your… friend… ended up doing."
What was that pause to emphasise the word friend? What did he know? It couldn't possibly be that Jake told, right? They had never told anyone, why would this random person know of their relationship?

Meelis took a deep breath before answering: "I would like to talk to Jake right now please."

Dayvi chuckled to himself and took out a key. A key? Might this be his way to freedom? Dayvi unlocked the cell and called out for someone named Liki. What a weird name.

He would take his chances. As soon as the lock had clicked, he shoved past Dayvi and booked it for the door. However, when he opened it, a tall and wide woman stood in front of him. She had him on the ground in seconds.

"Don't try to pull any shit like that. This is my ship, and you aren't going to go willy wallying wherever you want to, is that understood? Liki, please accompany this fella to the cabin."

The woman took him by the neck, (was he some kind of dog?) and brought him to the place where he had seen Jake yesterday. She sat him down on it and soon after, the captain entered behind her.

"I will explain the situation to you. Your friend Jake was explained the options, and decided to join the crew. Initially he seemed reluctant, but ended up being for it when you were discovered. I will explain these same options to you."
And Dayvi took out three objects. He revealed the first one: a compass?
"Join our crew. You will have the same opportunities as everyone, and if you do well, maybe you can even become the vice captain. We don't care about your love life, who you do and don't fuck. It's absolute freedom."
