W-What Is Happening to Me?!
/
It had started out like any other day with Jaune having the wind knocked out off him as Nora cannonballed unto his sleeping form. But, unlike all those other times Jaune's Aura hadn't been shielding him?
Jaune had started to gasp for air as Nora sat atop him a worried look crossing her features, as Jaune's Aura hadn't shimmered to life and protected him as always. Jaune also managed to roll out of bed as his entire body kissed the floor and he was soon rendered unconscious.
The last thing he saw or heard was Nora's worried scream and the rushing of his other two teammates to help.

When Jaune awoke, it was to the throbbing of his head and the aching of his muscles. As his eyes groggily opened, he was blinded by an overhead light, soon his eyes adjusted as he scanned the room and noticed it was Beacon's infirmary. As he tried to sit up straight a flash of pain coursed through his right-arm and upon looking at the appendage, he noticed it was in a cast.
Why would his arm need a cast? Wasn't his Aura gonna fix it up? Wait, where is my Aura? It feels so weak, not like the torrent I had before but now mere droplets?
He was taken out of his thoughts when he heard a conversation just outside the Infirmary. It was Ozpin and Glynda, but who were they speaking too?
"I've run every test conceivable test, and it just doesn't make a lick of sense!" The person explained, dumbfounded by her own words, "The kid's Aura is weakening, simple as that."
"But how...? In yesterday's sparring class Mr. Arc was definitely using Aura." Glynda said, and Jane could just imagine the woman standing hands folded across her chest.
"Did you notice anything strange?" The female voice asked.
"Well, now that you mention it Mr. Arc's Aura has been steadily falling for the last three days." Glynda said, her voice sounding oddly concerned, "I simply chucked it up to him and his partner's early morning jog and combat training making him exhausted." Glynda added afterwards.
"But still, why is this happening?" The female voice asked.
"Could there be something wrong with his Soul?" Wait, what?!
"I-I'm fine!" Jaune yelled from within the infirmary, wincing as his back stung from the vocal act. There was a shuffling of footsteps when the doors to the infirmary opened and Jaune saw Ozpin, Glynda and a woman he didn't know – Wait, it was Beacon's nurse, what was her name again?
"Ah, you're awake Mr. Arc, are you feeling any better?" Ozpin asked his cane infront of him as he inspected Jaune over. The young blonde-haired teen on the bed smiled as he stretched his arm, ignoring the pain lancing through his back. And it wasn't working for his face scrunched up into a look of agony.
"As healthy as ever, Professor." Jaune said, biting back the gasp of pain trying to escape his mouth.
"Don't lie, Mr. Arc. We can clearly see that you're not doing well." Glynda cut in speaking with a sense of anger lacing her voice. She walked closer to him and sat on the bed placing her hand on his shoulder.
"I-I just don't understand what's happening..." Jaune muttered, finding his bed sheets more interesting, "Has this ever happened before?" Jaune asked aloud.
"Never. This is the first incident of this kind." Ozpin answered, "And therefore I'm afraid I'll have to contact your parents," Ozpin informed Jaune, but continued, "As a person without Aura you could easily be killed." Ozpin said with finality, "And don't worry the only people who know of this is the three of us and your teammates." Ozpin finished.
"C-Can't someone fix it?" Jaune tried his voice near cracking.
"I'm afra-!"
"I can!" A voice resounded from inside the infirmary confusing Ozpin and everyone when they realized it wasn't any of them.
When Jaune scanned, the room he noticed that his equipment, namely his sheathe was glowing blue? Suddenly, and without warning, a blue light flashed from Crocea Mors' sheathe temporarily blinding everyone. When the light cleared, everyone opened it to an abnormal sight; right infront of Jaune floated what looked to be a sort of machine.
"W-What are you?" Ozpin asked, he along with Glynda took a cautionary stance. The machine-like thing turned its body and a large blue eye looked directly at Ozpin just as the doctor fainted behind them.
"You are... not Human?" The thing pointed out, "You're Aura is similar to that of what's contained in Maidens?" The machine further continued, as Glynda and Ozpin's eyes widened. Jaune hadn't reacted due to the fact that he kept looking at the machine in shock.
"Anyways, my name is N'Baro Atksteel X377, but you can just call me Steel." Steel informed everyone in the room, "And I can explain why you no longer have Aura."
Jaune had no idea why this weird machine came out of Crocea Mors' sheathe but it was willing to tell him why his Aura was disappearing - it was his best choice.
"So, what's wrong?" Jaune asked, as Steel's body turned towards him.
"Well, your body is finally at a level where the T.U.R.B.O Energy lying dormant in you could finally activate." Steel explained, half of its words shooting over Jaune's head.
"Turbo Energy?" Ozpin enquired, his stance not faltering, but his eyes alight with curiosity.
"Its full name is Tachyon Unlimited Radiant Bio-Optimized Energy and it's the most powerful energy in the known Universe." Steel explained, his eye showing a projection of a wave of blue energy.
In the projection, it showed violent outbursts of the energy on an unknown planet. And as the projection played further, they could see how other planets began to crumble from the sheer output of this T.U.R.B.O Energy.
"W-Wait! That's in me?!" Jaune yelled, pointing at the destructive energy.
Steel simply nodded its head...? – Body?
"So... you're an alien?" Glynda asked, her mind barely functioning as the images of that violent energy flashed in her mind.
"Yes. Though my Internal Memory is somewhat damaged...? I only know the basics, nothing more." Steel explained, it's hands(?) hovering under its chin(?), "No, that's not quite right for I know your father." Steel said, pointing its hand straight at Jaune.
"My dad? H-He died three years after my birth." Jaune said.
"His name... was Nicholas Arc?" Steel answered, more like asked.
Jaune's eyes widened in recognition as he teared up and nodded.
"Ozpin and Glynda started to calm down but were still vigilant as they took in the scene of Jaune crying as he asked Steel more and more questions. But one was more pressing.
"So, then why is Mr. Arc's Aura gone? And if T.U.R.B.O Energy is building up in him will this world meet the same end as the one in that projection?" Ozpin asked, fearing if the latter question's answer would be a "Yes".
It was hard to believe that within him he had the power to destroy a planet.
"How do we stop it?"
"T.U.R.B.O Energy is simply overwriting his weakest aspect, which in this case is his Aura, no offense." Steel elucidated, sitting atop Jaune's head, "As for your second question, that's why I'm here. I am something called an Ultralink; think of me as a parasitic being that'll help Jaune to keep his T.U.R.B.O Energy output to minimum." Steel finished, just as Jaune's body shot blue blinding everyone yet again as Turbo Energy began to build up around him.
"W-What is happening to me, Steel?!" Jaune yelled, floating in the air.
"The Energy is building. Looks like we'll have to do it now." Steel said, moving infront of Jaune as it 's body locked in place, "Let's do this!" Steel yelled, shooting into Jaune's chest as all the energy got pulled along inside Jaune.
There was a huge flash of light and when everything was said and done, Jaune stood atop the broken infirmary bed wearing what appeared to be armour Atlas soldiers would wear. But one could see how its armour differed to that of Atlas due to the black and blue streaks running all throughout the armour layout.
But the symbol on Jaune's chest that resembled Steel was a dead giveaway. That's when Steel popped into existence right infront of the symbol as Jaune checked his body for in wonder.
"So, you like it?" Steel asked.
"I like it. So, what else can we do?" Jaune asked back, cracking his knuckles.
"Ahem!" Ozpin cleared his throat, "Before that, we would still like to ask Steel more questions, specifically how he knows about the Maidens."
"Maidens?" Jaune questioned, looking at Steel.
"We'll explain it to you later. Now that you are quite possibly the strongest being on Remnant you need to know." Ozpin said.
Suddenly, the door to the infirmary opened with a crash as seven students crashed face first to the ground as Glynda stalked over to them.
"We didn't hear anything! We know nothing about the Maidens, T.U.R.B.O Energy, and Ultra-!" Ruby yelled her mouth clamped shut by her older sister.
"It's alright, Glynda. After all, with the Vytal festival around the corner they have a right to know. Follow along, children." Ozpin said, beckoning them all along as Pyrrha ran to Jaune's side and looked him over.
"Are you okay? And this must be Steel?" Pyrrha asked, inspecting Steel as the robot floated next to Jaune's head.
Can you believe are Fearless Leader is friends with an alien?" Nora squealed as she hugged Ren.
"Jaune's a superhero!" Ruby yelled in glee as she zipped up and down Jaune's body examining his new armour.
"Come along, students!" Glynda called as they all soon followed her to Ozpin's office failing to notice three students as they examined Jaune's new armour.
"Stronger than a Maiden?" The raven-haired woman said, biting her thumb, as her eyes were as wide as saucers, "Salem needs to know." She finished as they walked away in a hurried manner.

A/N: Actually, am idea I got while watching Max Steel and I kind of like the way this came out. Essentially, Jaune becomes Max and teams up with Steel to fight both Salem and the invasion of Makino.
I know jaune has a massive amount of Aura canon-wise, but I wrote this when I was still an idiot...
