"Ugh, stupid elevator." Runa staggered into the room they both shared, being aware of Yuuki's poorly disguised laugh. "I'd rather have to go up and down the damn ladder every day."
Despite all the months that Runa had spent with the same routine, she wasn't able to get used to the feeling of being teleported so suddenly. That always made her want to throw up everything she had eaten on that day. She slightly wobbly, she walked over to the dresser and, without searching too hard, she grabbed a clean pajama along with a plain white top and panties.
"Aww, you should wear something prettier than that." Runa turned to find Yuuki leaning against the door frame, arms crossed and sporting a ridiculous pout.
-I'm not in the mood-. She said simply, then continued on her way to the shower.
The room was relatively spacious, being one of the smallest rooms in the whole house. The floors were tile, unadorned white and quite cold to the touch. It had a small cabinet with a sink in one corner, in addition to the hole in the floor that was used as a toilet and a bathtub in a corner.
They didn't have hot water, Ingrassia hadn't figured out how to get something so trivial, so they always had to heat the water or shower with ice water. Fortunately, Runa had never been overly sensitive to changes in temperature.
"Good thing it's not winter anymore". Runa undressed slowly as she turned on the faucet and allowed the tub to fill halfway.
She trembled slightly at the cold environment "Ugh, if I go out to ask for the water to be heated, Yuuki will make fun of me".
Resigning herself to her own stubbornness and holding her breath, he slowly slipped inside. Runa, completely submerged, sighed as her teeth chattered slightly "Why am I like this?" She grunted as she reached for the body soap.
Not wanting to stay longer than required, she began to rub the sponge over her body. "Damn, it's colder than usual". She groped around the edge of the tub until she found the shampoo.
Runa thought absentmindedly of cutting her extremely long and tedious hair. She might ask Hinata for the closest hairdresser, as she knew that Yuuki would be horrified at the idea. 15 minutes later she immersed her head, hissing at the intense cold she felt.
When she came out and removed the plug, letting the pipes drain the dirty water "How cold, how cold." Runa quickly wrapped herself in a towel, shivering heavily . She frowned as she curled up on the bathroom rug, she didn't recall feeling that way before. Maybe she was getting weaker? A knock on the door distracted her.
"Runa-chan? Are you okay? Usually you don't take that long. I hope you haven't fallen down the hole in the toilet, with how small you are". The playful teasing did little to cover the tone of concern in the boy's voice.
"Y… Yu… Yuuki." The blue-haired one stuttered, trying to bundle up with the thin towel. Runa totally soaked hair did little to help maintain her body temperature.
The door handle moved, revealing curious brown eyes. "Runa? Haven't you dressed up? What happens?". Yuuki poked his head out, as he watched his girlfriend closely. He widened his eyes as he noticed the girl's purple lips.
He quickly walked fully in, grabbing two more towels. The first replaced the wet one that covered the one with blue hair and the second was used to dry the long hair "I think there will be no more ice water baths for Runa Kagurazaka".
The aforementioned blushed, hiding her face in the soft fabric. "We aren't married, I am not Kagurazaka". Runa allowed herself to be carried and dressed up by the boy. Sighing in relief once she was under the warm duvet.
"We can fix that tomorrow." Yuuki fiddled while they made the spoon, with Runa being the little one. "Uh, you're so cold. Before, the temperature changes didn't affect you... How strange".
"Yeah… It's very strange". Leaving her mind blank Runa sank against the heat on her back, unaware of her boyfriend's satisfied smile. A few seconds later she fell into it, what she hoped it would be, a peaceful sleep.
Runa opened her eyes slowly, blinking slowly to try to get rid of the intense sleep that was present in her system. She moaned as she raised her hands, noticing how they were almost translucent "W... what?"
When she looked up, she saw a great endless forest, the kind that weren't in Ingrassia "Why...? I… I've never been here". With a groan she collapsed to the ground and disappeared, not noticing the figures moving around her.
Meanwhile, in bed, where Runa's real body was. She stirred slightly, pushing the covers away from them with her feets. Yuuki, feeling an unexpected cold, hugged the woman more firmly in his arms. It must have been around 2 in the morning.
Runa consciousness reawakened, although this time she was in the middle of a big square. She, absentmindedly, notice that the buildings were of great architecture, surely these people lived better than in Ingrassia.
Her sight focused slightly, noticing that in front of her there seemed to be many different colors. Some were shaped like something, some weren't. Red stepped forward, making her dizzy with so much movement.
Suddenly, the static filled her head, causing Runa to tug on her hair as she couldn't help but start begging the figure to shut up. Her head ached; her throat ached… It was all agony.
"No, don't go!". She felt it was a familiar sound, though it only made her body hurt more. With a cry she fainted again.
"R… Rn… Runa!". The girl shot to her feet, panting heavily with tears running down her cheeks. Runa had to run out of bed so she could vomit her dinner, violently, into the toilet.
When she finished and washed her face and teeth, she staggered back to a confused Yuuki. "A nightmare? You don't stop having them". He sighed as he replaced the sheets.
"I… I saw a forest and a city. Someone talked to me". Runa looked away, knowing how much Yuuki hated for her to talk about it. "It has to mean something. I…".
"Enough. Come on, let's go to bed. You know it's nothing, dreams are dreams. Go back to sleep". The boy tried to hide the anger in his voice, even though his body language told all.
"Sorry…". Runa lay down, turning her back to the brunette and covering herself again. After a few minutes she fell asleep again.
Yuuki, this time, made sure that none of those trash could contact HIS Rune again "All of you are looking to be eliminated". He grunted as he made sure to reinforce the enchantment on his mate's soul.
"I'll definitely talk to Tear and Laplace tomorrow. That… thing has to know something. I also thought to eliminate it in a short time... You only need me, my darling". He gently kissed her soft cheek before hugging her again. "I love you; I love you so much. You are only mine; I will not let others have you". Feeling more relaxed, he fell asleep again.
