I do not own the vampire diaries in any way shape or form

That next day Elena told Stefan and Damon that they were right, it was not safe to go to school. They had no idea what had made Elena change her mind and they weren't going to ask. Elena had been right, she didn't need to tell them everything about her life.

It had been weeks and there had been no signs of the big bad original. Stefan and Damon let their guard down, believing that Klaus would never come. Elena tried to convince them otherwise, but they just told her she was being paranoid, which infuriated her. Bonnie and Caroline had also agreed with Stefan and Damon, Elena wished more than anything that she could tell them that he was already in mystic falls. Elena had dropped multiple hints but they never caught on, she was officially doomed.

Elena had been doing some thinking over the week and came up with a somewhat risky plan. Elena had only hoped that nothing would go wrong with this plan. It was finally morning and she had been up all night, she snuck down to the cellar as quickly as possible. When she opened the cellar she grimaced a little before going to Elijah and pulling the dagger out.

Elena had sat there for what felt like hours when Elijah's eyes opened. Elijah started moving abnormally and gasping for air.

"I can't- I can't breathe."

Suddenly Elijah vamp sped into the wall.

"I can't… I can't be in this house."

Then the realization dawned upon Elena.

"You're not invited in."

Elijah vamp sped outside of the house, when Elena arrived at the door, they shared a look. Elena had placed the dagger inside of him, and he wasn't happy about that. He tried to get inside the house but the barrier stopped him.

"What happened?"

"Shh"

Elena pointed up, signaling that Damon and Stefan were inside the house.

"I will tell you… but not here." Elena stated, as quietly as she could.

"Can I trust you?"

"Can I trust you?"

Elena sighed and handed him the dagger, showing him that he could trust her.

After Elijah changed into his suit, he led her outside. Elijah had just been talking about his past when Elena stopped him.

"I have a question." Elena stated.

"What is it?" Elijah asked

"The originals stand for the original family, right?"

"That is correct."

"Does that mean you and Klaus are?"

"Brothers?"

Elena nodded.

"Yes."

"So why is he the only hybrid?" Elena asked, confused.

"He has a different father than us."

"Oh."

"Why did you take the dagger out?" Elijah asked

Elena looked lost in thought so Elijah spoke up again.

"There had to be a reason-"

"I have a brother." Elena stated

"Yes, I know that Elena."

"My brother is in mystic falls."

"So you pulled the dagger out to protect your brother from Klaus?" Elijah asked, confused.

"No, you're not listening. My brother is in mystic falls." Elena stated, emphasizing the words brother and mystic falls.

"Are you saying that Klaus is in mystic falls?" Elijah asked.

Elena didn't respond.

"You're compelled."

When Elena didn't respond, Elijah sighed.

"When?" He asked.

"Two weeks ago."

Before Elijah could ask anything else, Elena's phone went off. She looked at it as if she was unsure what to do.

"You can answer it." Elijah stated

Elena answers the phone.

"Hey Elena, where are you? Damon and Stefan are worried." Jeremy stated.

"Out..." Elena responded

"I won." Klaus said chuckling.

"Who are you with Jeremy?" Elena asked, sounding concerned.

"I'm with Marcus, oh that reminds me he wanted to talk to you. He says it's important." Jeremy replied nonchalantly.

"Jeremy listen to me carefully, stay away from Marcus." Elena stated.

"Why should I? Marcus is actually a good person. You always do this Elena." Jeremy argued.

"He isn't who you think he is." Elena stated, gritting her teeth.

"What? Is he the boogyman or something?" Jeremy quipped.

After a moment of silence Jeremy spoke up again.

"Look Elena I got to go, but you can't control my life and who I'm friends with." Jeremy stated, hanging up the phone.

"What's the matter?" Klaus asked.

"Just Elena being Elena." Jeremy stated, sounding annoyed.

"Girls will be girls." Klaus stated, just for the fun of it.

"Another round?" Klaus mused.

"So you can beat me again?" Jeremy laughed.

"Come on, don't be a sore loser." Klaus quipped.

"Just one more." Jeremy stated, giving in.

"That's more like it." Klaus stated, with a smirk on his face.

Elena was pacing back and forth, why was Klaus doing this? He was already going to kill her, was that not enough for him?

"He won't hurt him." Elijah assured her.

Elena shook her head.

"I- I have to go." Elena said, walking out.

Elijah sighed, he planned to have a little talk to Klaus.

Elena opened the door to her house and found Klaus and Jeremy playing on the Xbox as if they were best friends. Elena was fuming at this point, she stormed over and took the remote off of Jeremy's hand.

"Jeremy go upstairs." Elena demanded in a serious turn.

"Elena, you can't march in here and tell me what to do." Jeremy argued.

"Listen to your sister." Klaus commented.

Jeremy scoffed and went upstairs, while Klaus stayed on the couch with a smirk on his face.

"Stay away from my brother." Elena stated in an irate tone.

"What, no hello?" Klaus quipped.

This only pissed Elena off more.

"What do you want from me Klaus?"

Klaus was silent for a moment before abruptly getting up. Klaus walked towards Elena, he had expected her to back away, but she stood her ground. Klaus was so close that Elena could feel his breath on her face.

"I want you to be mine." Klaus whispered.

His words sent shivers down Elena's spine.

"What?" Elena said, taking a step back.

"Did you not hear me love?"

When Elena did not answer, Klaus walked towards her again. Elena backed away until she had backed up into a wall. Klaus pushed her hair behind her ear and smirked at her.

"You're wearing vervain." Klaus commented.

Elena's heart dropped, she was hoping he wouldn't notice.

"Tell Jeremy that you'll be back later, or I'll kill him." Klaus threatened.

Elena didn't know where Klaus was going with this, but she would not risk her brother's life.

"Jeremy, I'll be back later!" Elena yelled.

Suddenly Klaus picked her up and flashed her out of the house.

It had been hours since they had heard from Elena, they were about to go into panic mode before Matt called and told them Elena had gotten wasted at the grill. This information had taken them by surprise, Elena hadn't done anything like that after her parents died. They all convinced themselves that the stress had probably gotten to her.

When they got her to the Salvatore boarding house they took her straight to bed, Stefan was planning to have a long talk with her when she sobered up.

Elena woke up with a major hangover. Stefan knocked before entering the room with a cup of coffee. Elena took a sip of it and grimaced at the bitterness.

"It will help." Stefan stated, seeing her face.

Elena only nodded and sipped more.

"That was very irresponsible of you, Elena." Stefan stated, clearly disapproving her actions.

Elena sighed and chewed on her lip.

"I'm sorry." Elena said, with her head down.

Stefan sat on the bed and looked at her for a moment, he heard her heart skip, but he decided not to mention it.

"Why'd you do it?" Damon asked, leaning on the door.

Elena's eyes started tearing up. This caught Stefan and Damon off guard.

"Hey, hey, it's okay." Stefan said, pulling Elena into his chest.

"I- I don't want to be sacrificed." Elena said, crying into Stefan's shirt.

Damon narrowed his eyes.

"We won't let that happen, Elena." Damon stated.

Elena looked at him and shook her head.

"You heard what Katherine said, he would kill everyone I love. Aunt Jenna, Jeremy… I can't let that happen." Elena stated, her voice breaking at the last part.

Stefan held her tighter.

"I promise you we won't let any of that happen, Elena." Stefan whispered in her ear.

Elena only nodded and covered her face with Stefan's shirt.

Authors note:

Hey guys, I'm glad you're liking this story, I've been reading your comments and I can say that the sire bond storyline could definitely happen. Most of these chapters will be 1k to 3k words, unless something big happens in the chapter, because I'm currently dealing with school and I'm also writing my other fanfiction. It will most likely take me two or three days to write the chapters so you won't have to wait for weeks for me to update.
