Soon everything went dark. When Nico woke up again he felt warm and comfortable. The sun was shining through the wide windows and he heard some birds chirping for their mother. Typically this wasn't Nicos favorite kind of weather he much preferred something a bit less over the top sunny and happy but today he liked it. He opened his eyes and saw that he was covered with a white, soft blanket.
'I must have fallen asleep. What time is it?' Nico was wondering to himself. He tried to get up from the bed but barely managed to sit up straight. Already out of breath he called out for Will but no one answered or came. Nico waited a few minutes calling every minute or so without Will appearing until he decided that he had enough of waiting for Will and tried to stand up.
He managed to get his right leg out of the bed but when he tried to get the second one out as well his right leg gave out and he fell face-first onto the ground. He was even weaker than he thought, he was lucky that Will recognized that he needed to rest otherwise he might have worked himself to death.
Getting up on his own wasn't an option: his arms were too weak and still a bit shadowy. He was not looking forward to Will's lecture about him leaving the bed too early. Looking around the room he saw a few empty beds, some cabinets with red crosses on them, some technical stuff that Leo could maybe recognize, and his own body sprawled on the floor like a pancake.
Looking at his own body Nico realized that he was wearing pajamas. 'I don't even remember putting these on before I went to bed. I must have been really spent. Also, why are they bright yellow?' he wondered to himself. At this moment Will entered the room. 'Hey Neeks, is everything alright? I just heard a loud-'he paused, looked down at him, and chuckled. 'Ah, I see you tried getting out of bed already. Next time, be a bit more careful please you could have seriously hurt yourself. Here let me help you up.' He held his hand out and pulled Nico up.
'Still not very solid' Will remarked 'you still need a bit of rest Neeks but it shouldn't take all too long until you are fit enough to take short walks around the infirmary.' 'That's fine I guess. How long was I out for?' Nico asked. 'Almost an entire day. I was kind of getting worried but it seems like everything is okay. I will come to check up on you soon though.' Will turned around to go.
'Wait' Nico said ' I don't want you to go – uh I mean how did I get into those pajamas. I am pretty sure I didn't do it since this color is, well… let's just say it is not my style.' Will turned red. 'Well, you know… I mean you looked… Uh, it was' he stammered 'I thought it would be uncomfortable for you to sleep in your clothes so I swapped them out for a pair of pajamas after you had fallen asleep. I also took your shoes off, if you need anything all your clothes are in the drawer over there.' He pointed to one of the cabinets Nico saw before.
'Okay, thanks' Nico replied with a hint of a smile on his face. 'So you will be back soon, right? To check on me I mean' 'Yeah sure, can't leave you alone for too long, can I? Patients like you need to be checked very often.' Will said while smiling at Nico. He helped Nico get back into bed and covered him with his blanket. 'Now sleep well and don't worry I will be back in an hour to check on you. If you need to talk to me when I am not here just press this little button and I will come as soon as I can alright' Will said while showing Nico a remote hanging by the site of his bed. Just like before Nico started feeling warm on the inside again and he was already looking forward to spending some more time with Will even though he would never admit it.
