The weak insistent patting against her curled hand rouses Eve much too soon in the tired woman's opinion. She'd taken refuge on the first stable surface she could when the ache in her limbs became too much. A park bench becoming her temporary resting place with only a thin leather jacket to cover herself as she slept.

As soon as her eyes open the younger human girl gives a scared squeak and trips backward a few steps clutching a light blue blanket in her little fist.

Three years old in human years Eve concludes studying the child as the child studies her.

Her eyes reminding the waking immortal of those belonging to Doc Holiday but her face structure and dark wavy locks taking on a more Wynonna esk quality as the little girl presses the thumb of her free hand into her mouth.

"Hey, my little dandy Daisy," a new voice calls out in a painfully overdone attempt at a southern drawl already on her way toward the pair. Her gaze only for the child as she draws closer. "What'd we about running off huh? Wanna get me fired?" the younger adult sighed earning a giggle from the younger child. "Oh, you laugh now but just wait till your Aunty G hears I lost sight of you."

The child squeals in what could only be delight even doing a little dance at the sound of the title. Obviously, whoever this "Aunty G' was she was important to the toddler then the child's face becomes something far more serious. Almost mirroring the guardian's spawn in a way with the way her eyes harden with the weight of her decision. "Totey." The toddler orders pointing with her blanket-fisted hand from the bag the approaching teen carried obviously meant for the toddler to Eve who was now sitting huddled to one side of the park bench using the shadow of the overhanging tree as cover.

Given how many times her current face had seen the inside of a police station Eve wasn't about to risk exposure else the human authorities rob her of her newfound freedom by throwing her in a pathetic excuse of a jail cell however briefly.

"Oh, you wanna share your cookies huh?" the teenager chuckles dropping to her knee beside the nodding toddler. "You should consider that an honor. This little one hardly ever shares her treats." She informs the yawning immortal still rubbing sleep from her eyes. "Okay, little Daisy. You wanna share you have to find them yourself." She challenges already unzipping the bag as once again the face of the 'Failsafe' flashed across the younger girl's features in determination.

"Have- have we met before?"

"I'm new in town." Eve answers "Just passing thought." She shrugs waving away the younger teens probing gaze.

"Oh." The dark-haired teen says, "It's just you seem familiar." She clarifies at Eve's raised eyebrow glare until the toddler in her care pats insistently at Eve's leather pant clade knee holding up a dented box of what Eve can only guess to be the already mentioned cookies.

"Your last box? You mean you want her to have all your cookies?" the caretaker gasped when the toddler sets the unopened packet against Eve's leg. "Wow. She must really like you." At the child's shy node of her head in confirmation as she pushes the battered snack-sized box into a more stable space against Eve's knee.

Eve looks between the blue-eyed dark-haired child then to the offered box of sweets and back again, unsure after the child scurries away to hide behind the kneeling teenager's shoulder suddenly incredibly shy.

The child obviously more intelligent than her physical age would imply give a light nod of her head now gumming her teeth against the edge of the soft blue blanket she was still holding.

"Thank you." Eve says already surprised with herself at the show of gratitude while the teenager in charge of the child's care looks toward the cell phone, she'd just pulled from her back pocket.

"Okay, my tired little Daisy time to get you back home." The dark-haired teenager suggested as she like Eve noticed the toddler's poor attempt to hide a wide yawn behind her blanket cover fist.

The thought of the child leaving so soon caused something close to a stab of pain to grip Eve's heart as she watched the somehow similar feeling cross the toddler's face replacing all traces of sleepiness in seconds.

"Come on sweetie, don't cry please." Already the child's keeper was pulling different things from the toddler's bag in an attempt to find something within it that would soothe the oncoming round of pain. Two near-identical-looking cowboy hats one black mirroring the one John Henry was sporting during their tussle in the garden the other an off-white cream color. A soft-looking horse was pulled out next, then a ginger tabby, and a sandy-colored hunt-worthy dog.

"A winged unicorn-" Eve chuckles examining the toy with a fleeting second of mild interest although why she found the child's tastes in playthings compared to the cat and the dog that the youngest of the trip seemed to prefer was a mystery as she finds herself reaching out her arms the same moment the little girl was reaching out for her tears already spilling from the corners of her sky-blue eyes.

Before her mind had caught up with her movements the strange yet somehow familiar child was already in her arms cradled so tenderly against the immortal's chest. At once the toddler's head finds Eve's shoulder her free thought saliva cover hand fisting in the copied long wavy hair Eve had acquired upon picking her current form from John Henry's mind, as she snuggles in while Eve herself makes sure to cover the child in her favored blue blanket as she rocks her into the start of a sleepy dozing.

"How-How'd you do that?" the teen questions in a low hiss once the child's soft snores confirmed she was indeed asleep and could be properly passed out of Eve's embrace once the bag had been repacked with the child's odd collection of playthings.

"Normally nothing can stop one of her sleepy tantrums, yet you did and all you had to do was hold her."

Eve does her best to keep the bile from rising in her throat regardless of the fact her stomach is void of anything resembling sustenance. "Motherly intuition." She gets out considering that apparently, even in this copied form Eve now caries a few of Wynonna's closer guarded instincts despite the fact her original was without the actual child she'd carried and given birth to on that itchy gaming table.

"Some instincts." The young woman praised still attempting to mirror Eve's rocking motions every time the child would shift in her sleep. "I'm Kersten by the way." She says holding out her hand.

The name pulls at something close to pain in the back of Eve's mind, but she pushes it back as she cautiously takes the hand in her own. "Eve." She says surprised at how quickly she'd chosen to use her real name instead of some kind of cover name.

"Well thanks for your help with this one." Kersten sighs rubbing a light hand against the toddler's back as she slept. "And enjoy the cookies." She reminds glancing down at the box still balanced against Eve's thigh. "Like I said normally Al here Never shares especially when she's tired."

Its only after the two have gone that Eve notices the rumble of hunger in her stomach, yet instead of popping open the box of sweets the child had generously left her with Eve simply pockets the offering. "Now which way to the bar?" the immortal wonders to herself noticing that unlike the other times she'd taken on someone else's skin this one was proving to be more inclined toward drink than she was used to. "Drinks then food." Eve muses stretching her arms over her head as she gets to her feet.
