Chapter 1: Sakura Matou
"Master. The boy that you've been waiting for has finally arrived in this realm." I took a drink of the wine that I had, as soon as he said that. I was really curious if we were talking about the same boy, as I didn't expect Kiri to be able to be brought to this realm so early in his life.
"What servant does he have? Do you know?"
"He has Assassin Emiya, and then he has Emiya Shirou, who is an archer."
"So you're telling me he has two servants? He summoned Emiya Shirou at that?! This is going to be great!" It truly is going to be great. As the servant that I was able to get, was the girlfriend of Emiya Shirou. Sakura Matou is a great treasure that I have, not that I need her though. I'm fully capable of fighting against servants on my own which isn't surprising at all!
I trained for half of my life to become a great mage slayer which allowed me to kill every single one of Kiri's family members. Now, I really don't understand why I felt the need to kill his family, but it was amusing to see them struggle!
Now, back to what I was saying about Sakura Matou. She's quite unique of a servant as she technically doesn't follow the rules of a normal servant. First of all, in her base form she's known as a caster. Yet when she goes into her dark mode, also turning into dark sakura, she's known as an avenger.
She's probably one of the strongest servants that's going to participate in this war, though I don't know every servant that's going to participate in this war. I was quite surprised to even know that there's a chance to have two servants. It must be a pretty rare case to get two servants though there must be a cost to pay for that.
It wouldn't really be a surprise if I did win this war, but if I lose then it'll be a huge surprise. Sakura is pretty strong so I don't expect to lose early on.
"Master, what do you want us to do to Kiri?"
"Leave him be for now.. He's still a mediocre mage at best. There's no way he's going to be able to overcome us.." I take another drink of wine. With how sweet it is, I really can't stop drinking it. It's my first time drinking wine for twenty years at least. It's a pretty good drink for me, which is rare for me to actually be interested in alcohol. I usually spent all my time trying to become stronger but now is the time that I actually use the power that I got in actual combat and win.
I attempt to get out of my seat, but I could barely stand due to the amount of wine that I've already drank. I slowly start to fade out from exhaustion, but I manage to stay awake to say even a few more words. "Protect.. Me.." Those were the last words I managed to say before I fell into slumber.
I woke up a few hours later, it was already dark out and I was in my bed instead of in my chair where I was when I fell asleep. I was sober by now, as I get out of bed and walked out of my room.
Out in the living room was my two servants. Sakura Matou, and then someone that acts like a servant and serves me purely because they think of me as a good king. Their name is Liliph, they are pretty shitty as a mage, but they are a good servant and they actually keep me up with the news.
I walk into the kitchen to grab something to eat, but when I open the fridge there's literally almost nothing there. There's basic lunch meat and mustard but there's no bread! I suppose I have been here for almost twenty years, and usually the fridge would automatically get refilled but this time it didn't. Is it because of the holy grail war?
I have many questions, but I know none of them will be answered, which is quite sad knowing I actually enjoy life here in this realm. I close the fridge, and I start to hear quiet food steps, and I automatically knew that it was Sakura walking towards me as if it was Liliph it would've been loud.
"Senpai.. What are you doing up so late?" She asks me in a broken voice. Her voice has always been calm, as if she's been through hell itself. I suppose she has as she literally almost killed everyone in the world in a timeline before Emiya Shirou stopped her. Now that I think about it, Kiri summoned Emiya Shirou which is quite the surprise as he's my enemy. This could mean that both of our servants could break down in the middle of the fight but the fight will definitely continue to go on no matter what our servants think.
"I just woke up, I'm attempting to find something to eat." I reply to her, trying to not tell her that I'm thinking of something. She seems suspicious about me though as she thinks I'm hiding something from her. "I see.. I'm sorry the fridge isn't full as it should be.. Due to the grail war, god can't refill it for a few months I suppose.."
"It's alright Sakura. As long as you can compete in this grail war at your best." I walk over to her and pat her head a little. Believe it or not, even though I've killed Kiri's whole family, I'm actually a warm hearted person. I don't like seeing people struggle at all, yet for some reason Kiri struggling brought me happiness.
"Senpai, do you think we can win this holy grail war?"
"I'm not sure. I don't know every servant that's in this war.. From the servants I do know though.. We can probably win.." I'm hesitant to say that because it depends on how strong the master is.
"This war will be intense though.. I can tell you that. Especially since god wants this war to go on this time.. The war a million years ago was made by humans instead of god.." I stopped patting her head and clenched my fist in anger. I wasn't angry at anything in specific but I was pretty sad that this war is going on because a supposed god wants it to happen.
Like I said, the war a million years ago was created because humans decided to be stupid and contact an ancient wishing god. This caused the first holy grail war to happen in this realm which after that, it took a million years for god to wage another war. Nobody is really sure what the goal is in making this war go on, but we can expect that there will be many casualties.
"You should get some rest soon.. There's no telling when somebody will attack.."
"Thank you.." I walk towards my room, as Sakura follows. I look back to her, motioning her to follow me as it's clear that she's following me because she wants to sleep with me.
I woke up again, and this time it was actually morning. Sakura was already out of bed, which wasn't a surprise as she's a servant there's no need for her to rest so long.
I walk out of my room, and I see somebody in the living room with my two servants. They didn't look familiar whatsoever, and they looked strange as if they were hiding something. I listened to what they were talking about before I intruded into the conversation.
"Your master, how strong is he?"
"He's not my master.. He's my senpai.. He's probably stronger than you.."
"Stronger than me? You're joking right?! It's been proven that I can become the master of both and Gilgamesh!"
"She's killed Gilgamesh before.. It's nothing difficult." I walk into the room and look at the strange person. Even when I get a closer look, I don't know who this person is but it's clear that it's one of the masters. He smiles at me and starts to talk.
"Well well.. It's the master that I fear the most!" He shouted. He became so loud that I honestly just wanted to smack him. It was far too early in the morning for him to be so loud but it's clear that he's excited about the holy grail war.
"Why do you fear me the most exactly..? If you fear me then why are you asking Caster if I'm strong?"
"Because I wanted to test her obviously.. Your Caster really doesn't seem that strong after all."
"Are you really trying to test my servants? Why are you even here?!"
"Because.. I wanted to see if you'd trade servants. Your caster, for my Saber."
"No. I would never trade Caster. Not for anything. Not even for god itself." I was being truthful by saying that. Sakura is a strong servant and whatever saber he has would never be as strong as Sakura.
"You're missing out on a strong servant.. Suit yourself though.. I'll be sure to kill you first.." The person begins to walk out of my house, and I couldn't help but feel uneasy while looking at him. I didn't understand what it was but something about him had an overwhelming presence that even outdid Kiri's uncle which was stronger than me already and I killed him by luck.
"Just know.. This whole town, including everyone that you love will be destroyed.." He says before completely exiting. "Master, do you think you can win against that man?" Liliph asked me with what looked like sadness on his face.
"It's not a question if I can win. I will win, he's pissed me off.. Sakura, prepare for a fight."
"Yes senpai.." All three of us were uneasy after talking with him. He stated that he could become a master of both Arjuna and Gilgamesh both at once, which it was clear it wasn't a bluff. His magecraft even surpassed me, which was a rare sight. If I wasn't able to win against him, then I would be made fun of for most of my life.
He didn't specify when he was going to kill everyone in the town including the people I love, but in order to kill everyone I love then he'd have to kill Kiri.. Yes I said it, I love Kiri but that's why I have to rival him and beat him before that thing comes out. The family that he's from did many experiments on him, which allowed him to use the power of a strong beast, but they managed to put a seal on the beast before he rampaged and killed everyone.
The only problem I have is that I don't know what beast got sealed into him. It could be a weak beast but part of me doubts that it's a weak beast. If that seal breaks, he could possibly become the strongest master but that's why I'm going to beat him before the seal manages to break.
"Master, I sense a servant nearby.."
"What class is it?" Liliph has a special ability that allows him to know what class of servant they are. It's an actual useful ability and it'll probably come in handy in this war multiple times if he doesn't die early on of course.
"Saber.. This saber class servant is near the strange person we were just talking to as well.." Liliph was nervous in front of me for once. To be honest, I would be nervous as well as this saber class servant is the same servant that was going to be traded to me for Sakura.
I suppose it's time to see how strong this Saber is, but either way it wouldn't be worth the trade because the compatibility that Sakura and I have is a bond that can't be broken.
