Chapter 2

It was just another day in SVU. Liv took pride in trying to help victims. Her mom was a victim of rape like so many others. The team was in the conference room, they had a big case they needed to prepare for.

Captain Cragen sat at the head of the table, beside him sat Munch and Liv, followed by their partners Nick and Fin. Alex walked in, "Good Afternoon. Are we ready?" Liv smiled at her professional wife. They worked together a lot and they always agreed to keep it that way.

Fin spoke up, "This Johnny D is a real piece of work guys." Liv and Fin had been partners for years. They all knew each other well and worked together their entire career. Besides the Captain, Munch had been there the longest. Nick joined the squad about 4 years ago. He was a good fit. They had been following a serious sex trafficking case and finally caught the man responsible for building an empire based on purchasing young girls, holding them prisoner, selling, and even raping them. He was a monster.

The night they took him down he was found in an abandoned building with 4 girls. He held one with a piece of broken glass to her neck while threatening to kill her. He gave up and immediately asked for his lawyer. Liv and Alex's mouth dropped open wide when they found out his lawyer was Jim Rollins. They thought they would have to recuse themselves, but Beth told them no way. She wanted them on it, because they were the best. She had secrets her best friends didn't know.

They all reviewed the files and the witnesses who were going to take the stand and everything was in order. Cragen congratulated Alex on her win at arraignment. "Alex, you did a good job getting him held in Federal Prison. How can a man do this for over 15 years with no paper trail and not a single arrest?" Alex shook her head, "Yeah this is a tough one and those poor girls, I can't stop thinking about the ones we didn't save. I've got to be on my A game for sure."

They called it a night and everyone went home to rest, because the trial started the next day. Alex reminded them, "Remember, Liv, Fin, and Nick you are all testifying tomorrow, be ready." Cragen and Munch said goodbye and headed home. Nick, Liv, and Fin were cleaning off their desks. Nick grabbed his suit jacket, "I don't trust some of our witnesses." Liv looked up, "We don't have to trust them, if they don't tell the truth, they will never see the outside again." Nick agreed, "Ok. I'm heading home to be with my family."

Alex came up behind Liv and wrapped her arms around her waist. "I've missed you today." Liv smiled widely, "Hmmmmm. I've missed you and that loving today." They didn't care that Fin was there. Fin was family and the only person at work they would show affection in front of. They all said goodnight and headed home.

While going home they talked, "Liv I think we should call Beth and cancel dinner." Liv turned, "Why we always eat together once a week and Jim doesn't come, we barely see him. Plus if you are worried about the case, we don't talk about that and you know it." Alex sighed, "She's been different Liv and you know it." Liv agreed, "You're right she's been different since having Noah, but she's our best friend."

They walked into the penthouse and Liv immediately started dinner, while Alex set the table. They saw the door open and then they heard the cursing, "Get your ass in there right now and sit down. Don't move or talk. And give me that damn phone." Liv and Alex stood there in shock watching everything unfold.

Beth was on Amanda's ass, which wasn't an unusual thing. Amanda was in 8th grade and had been giving Beth a run for her money since 5th grade. Once she hit middle school, the skipping school started and she finally had enough and transferred her to a new private school.

Alex and Liv were the kids godparents and they spent a lot of time with them. Alex had to put a stop to what she saw, "Beth stop! Come on don't talk to her like that." Beth spun around, "Oh really, you don't even know what she did. She skipped school today and I found her with a whole group of boys and girls laying up in a house."

Amanda's attitude wasn't the best either, "It wasn't a group, 4 total including me. You're such a liar. We just were hanging out. You act like I was having sex or something." Beth just laughed, "And she misses the whole point." Beth moved closer, "I told you to sit and shut up." Liv moved in to stop the argument, "Amanda go sit in your room you stay in when you're here and cool it. You shouldn't skip school, that's the point." She folded her arms and wouldn't budge, "NOW!" Amanda moved when Liv talked, she wasn't her mom and she knew better than to play with her. She tried the attitude game with Liv and Alex a few times, but they spanked her butt.

Liv grabbed Noah, "Hey sweet boy." She held him and talked in a sweet tone, "I know you're upset, but you shouldn't talk to her like that. And Beth come on, Noah can feel it you know." Alex tried to help, "Hey how about we keep the kids for dinner and you can have a little break?" Beth thought and said, "That sounds perfect, Noah can come back at bedtime, but that one" Beth said pointing to the room Amanda was in, "Since you think you can do so much better than me, keep her for a week or even two. I would love to see how you two handle her when she shows her true colors."

Liv spoke up, "Ok we'll take her. Everyone is upset, maybe it's best. Alex, will you go get her clothes while I finish dinner." Alex was pissed and Liv knew it and why. The big trial was starting and she couldn't handle this right now, but she didn't like what she saw from Beth. "Come on Noah, help me with dinner."

Alex went with Beth to get some clothes. Beth threw her bag down and went to pack Amanda's stuff, "Beth, what's going on. We're your best friends and we're here to help. You haven't been yourself lately. If I'm being honest, you haven't been yourself since having Noah." Beth scoffed, "Is that what you and your wife do, talk about me. Well I'm sorry I'm not perfect like you and Liv."

Beth walked into her bathroom and Alex followed, "Can you just go in my closet and get a bag while I'm getting her a new toothbrush, toothpaste, and stuff." Alex agreed and walked in her closet, "Any bag Beth?" She said trying to be nice, "Yeah anything is fine." Alex reached for a bag, and thought at least she calmed down. She had the bag and something on the shelf behind a jewelry box caught her eye. It was an open pregnancy test.

"Hello! Really you snoop now." Alex held up the box, "Is this what's wrong? Why didn't you tell us?" Alex was happy, "I mean wow it's close to Noah, but this explains a lot." Beth looked sick, "I'm not keeping it, so I didn't want anyone to know." Alex moved closer and hugged her and Beth started to cry. "I know you're going to tell Liv, even if I ask you not to." Alex had to ask, "Why wouldn't you tell us? We love you no matter what. Don't you know that?"

They packed Amanda's bag and talked until Beth felt better. "Hey pack a change for Noah." Beth shook her head, "No I know you have a big case. I know we can't talk about it, but I already dumped Amanda on you two. She can fend for herself, but Noah is different." Alex knew she was right, "Well give me some pjs and we will give him a bath and bring him back asleep. Deal?" Alex left with everything and hugged her best friend.

When Alex got back, she looked at Liv feeding Noah, "Where's Amanda?" She looked up, "I put her butt in our whirlpool tub. After giving it a big smack on it for her stubbornness. I told her that was a warning and her attitude wasn't going to fly here." Alex held up Noah's stuff, "I promised we would return him fed, bathed, and asleep. I'll go give her some bed clothes from her bag. Is dinner ready?" Liv kept feeding Noah, "Yeah! I'm keeping it warm. We need to talk huh?" Alex just shook her head yes, "Amanda! I'm coming with your clothes."

She knocked on their bathroom door, "Come in Aunt Alex." Alex walked in and Amanda was covered in bubbles all the way to her neck. Alex laughed, "I'm going to make you clean that tub. Here are some pjs. Hop out, dry off, and come eat." Amanda smiled, but then she looked sad, "Aunt Alex am I in trouble with you two?" Alex walked over and sat on the dry edge, "I don't know about trouble, because I have to talk to Aunt Liv, but we definitely will have a discussion. Ok?" Amanda shook her head, "Aunt Liv already spanked me." Alex kissed the top of her head, "Well I heard it was more of a tap. When we tell you to do something, you better do it. Come on dinner is waiting."

Alex walked in and kissed Noah. He was still eating mashed potatoes. "She wants to know if she's in trouble with us." Liv laughed, "Ummm did you say yes." Alex laughed back, "I told her Aunt Liv had to be asked, but get ready to talk." Liv stood up and made the plates, "Of course I'm the mean one." They had a normal dinner, talking, and laughing. Amanda was so different in the home environment they had, but they knew it wasn't the same. She wasn't with them all of the time, but quite often and she knew how and what buttons to push.

Liv picked up a messy Noah, "Alright he needs a bath. You two clean the kitchen. Liv was so good with him, Alex and her wanted a child. They tried, but Liv couldn't get pregnant. Alex never wanted to carry the baby, she had a later start in her career. They stopped and focused on their separate careers. After his bath, Noah was yawning. Liv rocked him and talked to him until he fell asleep. Alex and Liv looked at Amanda, "Sit right here and think about what happened today. We will be back."

Amanda sat and they walked Noah down the hall. They knocked and Beth answered, at least she looked better, "Just like we promised." Liv put Noah down in the crib. Beth asked, "Are you guys sure you don't want kids?" Liv said she was positive as they walked to the door. Beth hugged them tight, "I won't see you until after the trial. I love you two so much. You have been my consistent everything. Bring her back when she plucks your nerves." Even though they thought it was odd, Beth joined Jim's team and would be the courtroom every day.

They went to deal with Miss Amanda. "Wait Liv! We need a plan and to be on the same page. Are we punishing her or what?" Liv thought, "I'm not punishing her unless she has disobeyed us. She doesn't have her phone. I also say no TV unless it's with us. We need to go over expectations. Go to school and absolutely no skipping school. Listen to your teachers and complete your class work. Come straight here and only here, do your homework." They talked to Amanda and went over exactly that, "Why are you skipping school and going to your friend's house? You are 13 Amanda, that is unacceptable."

Amanda knew Liv wasn't like her mom at all, "I don't know. What's going to happen when I do something wrong?" Alex looked at Liv and back at Amanda, "Well technically you're grounded and we can always extend that. Then we can always add extra chores around the house."

Liv finally said what Alex didn't, "If you directly defy us, we will spank. Everyone messes up Amanda, but deliberately doing something we've said not to do like skipping school, going places without our permission better not happen. You are a child, not a grown up. Are we clear?" Beth and Jim didn't deal with Amanda like that, but Alex and Liv had their own way. "Yes Aunt Liv and Aunt Alex."

Liv stood up, "Well since you're grounded it's time for bed." Amanda looked at the clock. "It's only 8:00!" They started walking her to her bedroom, and she started to climb in, "Ummm excuse me. What about our hugs and kisses?" Amanda smiled and hugged and kissed them both. Alex tucked her in "Goodnight and we love you."

They walked in their room and shut the door. Alex started, "We need to talk Liv." Liv kissed her and pulled her in the bathroom locking and closing the door, "First we have sex." During trials Alex never wanted to have sex, she barely wanted to talk.

Liv started peeling off her clothes. Alex was nervous, "Liv, we can't Amanda's here." She started unbuttoning Alex's pants, "Amanda has been here plenty of times and that girl can sleep through anything." They got in shower and kissed under the cascading water. She sucked on Alex's erect nipples, pulling on them softly with her teeth. "Damn you Liv. You better not leave a mark."

Liv spun her around and put her hands on the bench, she rubbed her fingers through her wet folds from behind. "Well you're wet and not from the water." Liv giggled then inserted 1 finger first slowly, then faster. Alex dropped her head lower and Liv inserted a 2nd finger, moving faster and rougher. "Oh my God Liv!" Liv could feel her legs tensing and closing and she knew what was next. "Fuck me Liv!" Alex came hard and Liv had to grab her to hold her up. "I think I just did!"

Alex laughed in her arms. "Well let me return the favor." Alex fucked Liv with her tongue first, before grabbing the waterproof vibrating. They ended up on the shower floor with Liv screaming her name. They finally took a shower and got out.

After Liv dried her hair and changed she checked on Amanda. "Well she's out like a light. Told you." They climbed in bed, and Liv held Alex, "Tell me what's wrong." Alex told Liv about the pregnancy test and the things Beth said. "Wow! Does Jim know." Alex said she didn't know, but probably not." Liv sighed, "I would never judge her and I know you wouldn't. Seems like something else is going on and we don't know the whole story. Let's not worry. We have a big day tomorrow. I love you."
