Stephanie was in her bedroom when she heard her apartment door open. She walked into the living room and saw Ranger coming toward her. She rushed into his arms. He lifted her chin and gave her a long, sensual kiss.
"Hey, Babe."
He managed to get her shirt off her before she realized it and took his own off as well.
"How about we take this to the bedroom," he asked her as he took her hand and led her to the bed. "Babe, I have missed you" Ranger said.
"I missed you too." Stephanie replied to him. She gave him a long kiss on the lips.
He pushed her down gently and was on top of her in a minute. He fiddled with her bra and got it off and started to play with one of her nipples while she struggled to get his cargo pants off. He moved his other hand down and took off her jeans and her thong and looked at her. He moved his hand up her inner thigh, and he knew she was ready. He entered her hard and slowly first and then he got faster.
After they finished, he looked at her face and was surprised at what he saw. "Hey, what is it?"
Just then, Stephanie ran into the bathroom and threw up.
"Wow, that has never happened to me before," Ranger said, laughing, and then added, "Babe?"
"Ranger, I don't feel good," said Stephanie as she hit the floor.
"Babe!" Ranger said. "Okay, she has a pulse, and it's strong."
He ran for his phone.
"Bobby, I need you at Stephanie's apartment now!" Ranger said.
"I'm on my way," Bobby told him.
Ranger lifted Stephanie to her bed and covered her with a blanket. He got back into his cargo pants. Bobby arrived a few minutes later.
"What happened?" he asked Ranger.
"We had sex, she went into the bathroom and threw up, and then she was out cold," Ranger told Bobby.
"Right."
Bobby took a couple of vials of blood and took some smelling salts and put them under her nose.
"What happened?" she asked as she sat up in the bed and looked around.
"Babe, do you want to tell me anything?" he asked her as he joined her on the bed.
"I haven't been feeling well for the past few days," she told him.
"So, how long have you two been seeing each other like this?" Bobby asked them.
"About six months. We were trying to keep it quiet," Ranger told Bobby.
"Stephanie, when was your last period?" Bobby asked her.
"Shit. Now that you mention it, I missed last month," she said out loud.
Ranger's face went white.
"I thought I was just late," she said.
"I will run a serum pregnancy test. Ranger, take care of her," Bobby said and then left, shaking his head.
While Bobby was walking out, he saw Morelli come up to her apartment.
"Bobby, what are you doing here?" Morelli asked him.
"Morelli, this is not a good time to visit. Steph isn't feeling so well," Bobby told him and went down the stairs.
Morelli ignored him and entered Steph's apartment.
"Hey, Cupcake," Morelli said.
He noticed Ranger hovering over Steph as she sat on the bed.
"Ranger, what the hell are you doing here? I heard that Steph has a new man. Don't tell me you're the one that Cupcake has been dating for the last six months," he snapped.
"Yes, I am. Now please leave. Stephanie is not feeling well."
"Joe, please just try to understand," Stephanie spoke up.
Morelli stomped out of her apartment.
"Well, that went as well as can be expected," Steph said as she started to get up.
"Hey, where do you think you are going?" Ranger asked her as he walked back up and sat down on her bed.
"I said I'd be at my parents' house for dinner at six pm."
Ranger looked at her as she tried to get up.
"Wow," She said back down on her bed, feeling dizzy.
"Call your mom and tell her that you are not feeling well, Babe, please," Ranger asked her softly.
Stephanie sighed, picked up her phone, and dialed her parents.
"Hello? Stephanie? Are you going to make it tonight for dinner?" Helen questioned her.
"No, Mom, I don't feel well tonight. It's probably just a bug. Don't worry, and I'm sure I'll be okay in a few days. I'll call you then, okay?" Stephanie told her mom.
"Okay. I hope you feel better, darling," Helen said as she hung up.
Ranger looked at her. "Okay, I am going to help you get dressed, and then we are going to Rangeman so you can rest, and I can look after you," Ranger told her.
He took her clothes and helped her get dressed. Once they were finished, Ranger grabbed her bag and packed it. He grabbed Rex, and the two of them left the apartment. When they got to Rangeman, Ranger helped Stephanie to his penthouse.
"Okay, here is what's going to happen. You are going to rest, and I am going to talk to Bobby," Ranger told her.
He helped her to bed, and Stephanie felt too weak to argue. After he made sure she was comfortable, he gave her a soft kiss on the lips and laid down next to her.
