The sound of a rushing river made Ravenpaw's ears perk as he raise his head up, opening up his eyes he stood up onto his paws. He was back in the forest, out of the barn and in the thick undergrowth. However something was off, he could see that the trees were rich with leaves despite the approaching leaf-bare that he knew was coming. As he adjusted himself to look around at his old home, a strange scent washed over his senses, turning his head he could see a large group consisting of cats and kits. They looked like an entire clan on their own as Ravenpaw turned his head, there was a strange gray and white speckled tom leading the group as his back was turned.

The forest was dead silent, and even though he could see the cats' mouths moving he could not hear a word from them. As he followed them not too far away they did not seem to notice his presence as he drifted behind them, his paws grazing silently over the tips of the grass that he knew all too well but this was all to different. But he knew the path that they were heading; he had been down this way when he was still an apprentice of ThunderClan… last time was to leave but the destination was fresh in his mind of being soaked in blood.

As they reached the slope with the owl tree, Ravenpaw stopped and looked down at the mighty tree… it was just a sapling here however as it was just as tall as he was. As he looked back he could see down into the clearing of Fourtrees, where four dark shapes sat on the great rock watching the newcomers descend into the clearing. As the pale gray tom descended his spirit seemed to separate from his body and finally turn and look back at Ravenpaw who was frozen to the ground in his gaze.

Ravenpaw jolted awake, back in the safety of his hay nest. As he looked over at barley that was still curled up tight in his own, dozing off in the world of dreams… probably dreaming of mice in the fields. As Ravenpaw turned his head back to his paws outstretched in front of him, and rested his head back down on top of them as he let out a sigh of relief. As he looked up through the hole in the wall, barely covered by the large wooden seal that let in the moonlight from above, it was full and shining bright far above them.

It had been a couple of moons since the battle with BloodClan, and weeks since he had last seen Firestar when the ginger tom led the apprentices to visit the moonstone with him. They had stopped to pay them a visit as they always had, but they didn't stay long for the first time in a while. Graystripe hasn't visited since his last journey with Firestar, and now the small black tom was left thinking of home by his dream.

The as the dark loner flicked his tail back and forth behind him, his green eyes staring down at the thick tuft of black fur drifting down from the top of his head. As he huffed it flew away from his muzzle towards the far end of the barn, as he dropped his shoulders and shifted around to get comfortable in his cozy bedding and looked back up at the night sky. Shifting up and holding his head up high and licked his lips hungrily as his stomach growled, with the mice diving into cover he could expect there to be some scraggly prey diving into the barn for safety. A benefit of living in the enclosed space, Ravenpaw guessed… it kept them warm and lured in the next day's meal.

As he rose up to sit up in his bed and looked down at his paws, standing up on his paws and headed straight to the edge of the barn and poked his head out into the fields beyond. The golden tips were coated in the silvery moonlight that was far above his ear tips, and he kept his tail slightly lifted up off of the ground as to not alert sleeping prey. The massive cows up on the far end of the farm were in their own sleeping spots on a newer barn further down the way.

As he sat down he remembered the tall trees that, while shielded them away from the stars it allowed for them to still be seen. Ravenpaw straightened himself out and looked up at the open sky, flicking an ear and his whiskers twitched as he twitched his tail on the ground. Before he turned to look back at the place where he now sleeps, far from the gaze of his ancestors in Silverpelt; though he knew that they were always watching either way he hardly any way of seeing them.

"You are up late; I was beginning to think something happened."

Ravenpaw whipped his head around to look at the now emerging black and white tom from the barn, sitting down beside him and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes with one paw in the air. Ravenpaw smiled at the black tom as he shook out his pelt to the cold wind, as he let out a little laugh as he looked at the slightly shorter tom. "I for one like to be inside during this time, we should be trying to keep the cold out of our fur." He meowed.

Ravenpaw smirked as he let out a small laugh in response, shifting in place as he looked back at the night sky. "Sorry about that, just needed some fresh air." He answered as he shifted his paws, falling silent again as his face dropped and he went stiff. The black and white tom narrowed his gaze before he followed his gaze back up the night sky, and he fell silent for a moment and his whiskers twitched in curiosity as he meowed.

"Did something happen?"

"I've been having weird dreams, ones where I am back in ThunderClan," Ravenpaw answered as his shoulders dropped, "However tonight's was… interesting." He twitched his nose and shook his head. "Eh, I guess it was really just nothing, probably just feeling a little lonely since the last time we spoke with the clans. You ar right though, we should head back to where it is warm." He padded back towards the open entrance before Barley stopped him.

"Ravenpaw, wait… tell me about the dream?"

Ravenpaw sat down as he looked blankly ahead of him. "I was back in ThunderClan territory, but the season was different and… there were strange cats."

"Were they BloodClan, by any chance?" barley questioned, his eyes darkening as he straightened. "Are the clans in any danger?!"

"Not likely, they had a different smell to them… and they were heading to what seemed to be a gathering with every cat of every age." Ravenpaw explained his mind wandering back to that night and how vivid yet silent it all was. "They were speaking amongst each other, however I could not discern as to what they were saying they never turned to look at or acknowledge my presence; but before I woke the leader… turned in a spectral form to look at me."

Barley looked over his shoulder at the ground before straightening up. "Well… I am afraid I cannot help you there, the clans might but it is also unlikely… you said that this is different from your previous dreams?"

Ravenpaw nodded slowly in response as he stared down at his paws, barley approached the tom's side once more and nudged his shoulder. "Perhaps we should sleep on it, if you want I can take you to discuss it with your clanmates in the morning… but a good night's sleep is exactly what you need sometimes." The black and white tom explained as he pressed his shoulder into ravenpaw's, helping the tom up onto his paws as he nodded slowly.

As Ravenpaw passed back into the barn he felt a weight lifted off his shoulders as he was settled into his nest, his tail wrapping around his paws as he tucked them under his chest and belly. Settling his head down on the edge of his nest he looked at his friend through half open eyes as they slowly closed shut, and he was whisked off to dreamland once more. Tomorrow uncertain but where there is no seal of fate is comforting to prepare for what was ahead.
