Marinette woke up feeling extra tired than usual. She had to do the night patrol (as Ladybug) alone last night because Chat Noir didn't show up. That made her even more worry.

"Faster, Marinette!" Tikki said. "You're gonna be late for school!"

"I know, I know," Marinette replied, panicking. She hurriedly shoved her Chemistry book in her bag before rushing down to meet her parents.

Sabina, her mother was sitting by the kitchen when she came down. Grabbing a freshly-baked croissant from the plate in front of her mother, Marinette ran down the streets.

"Bye, Mom!" Marinette managed to yell before she went down to the bakery. She waved to her Dad before she clumsily ran down the streets until she reached their school.

"You're late as usual, girl," Alya said, playfully rolling her eyes. "And by the way, you're Adrien was back." She winked playfully at Marinette.

The latter forced a laugh. She didn't know if she'd be happy — especially that she's now confused whether she still likes Adrien that much or if it's Chat Noir that she likes already.

"Really?" Marinette said, placing her bag under her desk. She looked around and true enough, she saw Adrien talking to Nino a few seats ahead of them. "I'm glad that Mr. Agreste finally let him out after locking him inside their house for no reason," Marinette genuinely said.

"Yeah," Alya replied. "But he brought someone."

A frown immediately made it's way to Marinette's face. "Who?" she asked, but she already has a clue.

"Kagami," Alya answered, patting her back sympathetically. "And you wouldn't like how close she is to Chat Noir."

"Right." Marinette slumped her shoulders, and lost the enthusiasm to talk to her best friend.

"Walk faster, Marinette," Tikki said in her squeaky voice while peeking from Marinette's sling bag. "You're friends are walking way ahead of you now."

"I know," Marinette mumbled, not making any effort to walk faster. "But I'm not really looking forward to hanging out with Kagami after school."

Obviously, Marinette is still not in the mood for anything. All day at school, she witnessed how close Kagami is towards Adrien and how the latter doesn't seemed to mind. If it wasn't Adrien who asked her to come with him and their other friends to hang out at the park and have a picnic, she wouldn't agree.

Alya and Alix, who noticed that Marinette was walking too far from them, paused and turned around to face her. Rose and Juleka paused too, deciding to wait for their sulking friend. They know the reason as to why Marinette is acting that way.

"Adrien's father is probably just forcing him to stick with Kagami," Alya said, trying to comfort her best friend.

"Yeah," Rose seconded. "You should not let it bother you, Marinette. We're going to have so much fun today because Mr. Agreste finally let Adrien tag along with us!" Rose couldn't hide her excitement.

Marinette scowled. "It's probably because Kagami is with us."

"Just stop thinking about it," Alix joined the conversation.

Before someone can say a word, they've already reached the park. Jean, Chloé's butler, was unpacking a big basket of foods at the large picnic blanket on the floor. Chloé volunteered to bring the picnic essentials when she found out that Adrien will be with them. But just like Marinette, she wasn't okay with the fact that Kagami is also there.

"Oh, there you are, girls," Sabrina said when she saw Marinette and her girl friends. They finally sat at the picnic blanket as soon as Jean left. "Adrien has some good news!"

"Really?" Despite not being in the mood, Marinette was eager to know what the good news Adrien has could be. "What is it?"

"Well," Adrien put his hand at the back of his head — but in an adorable way. "My father's finally letting me go with you guys after school or on weekends."

A series of "wow", "that's great", "awesome" followed right after Adrien finished talking.

"That's soooo great, Adrikins!" Chloé gushed. "It's great that your father finally realised that he can't stop you from socialising with us!"

"Yeah," Adrien replied, smiling sheepishly. "He was too happy to hear that Kagami and I are an item now, so he wasn't as strict as before now."
