Harry and Merope Meets Percy Jackson
Disclaimer: I don't own these characters or series, only the plots that you don't recognize.
A/N: In case you didn't receive the notification, I extended chapter one a bit more, so you may want to go back and read it to get caught up. Also, the timeline I've chosen is between the first series (PJ and the Olympians) and the second series (The Heroes of Olympus), that way I'll have a bit more leeway with any events that I make up.
Chapter 2
Following the kids to Camp Half-Blood was interesting, considering they all piled into a taxi with three ladies in the front seat, with one eye and one tooth between them. If Harry had thought himself capable of creating each of them magical eyes like Moody had, he would have offered it, but since it wasn't anything he had ever attempted to do, he decided not to mention the possibility. Maybe if he ever saw the ladies again, after he had had time to try it, he would offer them the option at that point.
As far as their driving capabilities with the one eye that the driver wasn't even using, Harry would have been worried about himself and Merope, if not for the fact that they couldn't die even if they crashed, but rather than worry, he just chose to expand the cab so that everyone could fit comfortably and leaned back and relaxed.
After the cab was expanded, Percy muttered in appreciation, "Well, that's a helpful little talent," before climbing into the back of the cab, followed by Annabeth. The other campers that had been present with them had decided to make their own way back, Percy figured it was so they would have plausible deniability when he and Annabeth came back with outsiders.
After the driver pulled away from the curb, Annabeth studied their companions and noticed the faded scar on Harry's forehead. Her eyebrows rose in question and said conversationally, "By that mark on your forehead, I would say you're a child of Zeus."
Harry snorted and asked, "Do I look like Hercules to you?" Picking his arm up to show off his muscles, "I mean, while my arms are in decent enough shape, I'm certainly not on par with the mythological Hercules, now am I?"
Merope giggled and said, "Don't worry, dear, I'm sure that even if Hercules were real and were to show up, you could still take him."
Percy and Annabeth exchanged confused glances and Percy said, "Uh, Hercules is not a myth."
"Hmm. I guess that's not too implausible, considering that some of the monsters we saw you lot fighting were also supposed to be mythical." Harry said with a slight frown as he thought about it.
Merope hummed in agreement and said, "Well, it can't be any more far fetched than the fact that we can travel through different worlds and dimensions."
Percy's eyes widened in surprise at that, but before he could say anything, the taxi came to an abrupt stop at the camp, so he decided to tuck that revelation away for another time and began the exodus from the cab, while Annabeth quickly paid The Grey Sisters the money due for the ride.
At the same time, Harry took off the expansion charm from the cab, much to the Sisters' displeasure. Harry just shrugged in response and said, "I'll tell you what. You get a newer, cleaner ride before my wife and I leave the area, and I'll not only set you up with an expansion charm, but a slew of other features you might like."
"Deal!" The Sisters yelled in unison as they took off and disappeared.
Harry chuckled as he turned around and placed his arm around Merope, examining the entrance to this Camp Half-Blood, noticing that they'd garnered a bit of attention from those standing on the inside of the entrance.
"Did you say wife?" Percy asked dumbfounded. "Aren't you a little young?"
Merope laughed and said, "Yes, Percy, he did say wife."
Harry winked and said, "Don't worry, mate, we're much older than we look." Then Harry and Merope proceeded to walk straight through the entrance without any issues whatsoever.
"Uh..." Percy started to say in confusion. Upon seeing them walk through the entrance, he mumbled, "Maybe they're demigods, too." Then he shook himself out of his shock and followed them through the gate, where he and Annabeth saw the guards had their weapons drawn and aimed at the newcomers, who didn't seem to be in the least bit worried.
"Whoa! They're with us, no need to hold them at weapon point." Percy said, trying to calm everyone down.
"Why are you bringing strangers to the camp?" Clarisse asked, without lowering her spear.
Annabeth, too tired to get into an argument said, "Look, they were able to walk through the protections without any issues, so one would think they would belong here, wouldn't they?"
Another guard asked, "Are they new demigods? How did they survive so long without ever coming to the camp before?"
At that, Clarisse lowered her weapon, but gave Harry and Merope a scrutinizing look, "Yeah, especially considering the guy looks like he may be a son of one of The Big Three, see that mark on his forehead?"
Harry and Merope exchanged confused glances at the conversation happening around them, but remained silent in hopes of gathering more information.
"Well, I say we should take them to Chiron and see what he has to say," Clarisse said with authority.
Percy shrugged and said, "That's what we had already planned to do when you stopped us here."
Clarisse rolled her eyes as she directed the other guards to stay, while she escorted the newcomers with Percy and Annabeth, taking up the rear.
"Nice place," Harry said conversationally.
"Yeah," Percy said with a tired, but contented sigh, "it's the only place where we can be safe and free to be ourselves."
Harry hummed in response, as he thought about the Wizarding World and places like Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, and Hogwarts and a few other places around the world where witches and wizards were free to be themselves. Well, when there wasn't a madman hell bent on taking over everyone and everything.
"I'm amazed at the amount of knowledge that you were able to convey with such a small sound," Annabeth said, as she looked at Harry out of the corner of her eye as they walked down to the Big House.
Harry's lip curled up into a sort of half smile as he said, "Believe me, Merope and I know quite a bit about safe havens where one is free to be themselves, perhaps we'll be around long enough to tell you about it."
Annabeth gave a small smile and agreed, "Perhaps."
Soon enough, the group had arrived at the Big House, where Chiron was sitting in his chair as he conversed with Mr. D, who appeared to be glaring at his Diet Coke, before grudgingly taking a sip.
Percy cleared his throat and said, "Hey, there Mr. D, Chiron."
"What do you want, Presley?" Mr. D asked with a sneer.
Percy mumbled under his breath, "You'd think that after all these years he'd remember my name is Percy." Louder, he said, "Uh, we ran into a couple of interesting folks, while we were fighting off some monsters over in New York." He gestured to Harry and Merope with a wave of his hand. "As you can see, our protections let them enter the camp."
Chiron perked up in interest, while Mr. D remained as uninterested as he normally did. "What are your names and ages?" Chiron asked curiously.
Harry wondered why their ages were really needed, but then the place looked a bit like what he imagined a youth camp would be, so perhaps there was some sort of age limit here. "Well, my wife and I have gone by many names over the years, but our normal names are Harry and Merope Potter. As to our ages, well," Harry frowned, "I'm sorry to say that we've actually lost count of the actual number."
"You're mortal, how could you not know how old you are?" Mr. D questioned sharply, suddenly showing interest in the conversation.
Harry cleared his throat and said, "Well, we're not quite so mortal as we appear."
"Well, you don't look like any of the gods I know, and they are the only immortals that I know," Mr. D said with a huff.
Merope exchanged confused looks with Harry, and exchanged thoughts with legilimency, "Gods?" Merope questioned. Harry mentally shrugged and said, "Well, Annabeth thought me to be a son of Zeus because of my scar. Would that mean they think we're demigods?" "How do you want to handle this?" Merope asked warily. "I don't know, this is my first experience with anything to do with gods or demigods." The exchange between the two went unnoticed, as it only lasted for half a second.
"Well, we're not gods, that I know of," Harry said with a frown. Then he looked at Merope, "Do you think the Hallows gave us god status and we never knew it?"
Merope shrugged and said, "I don't know. I mean, we can do many things that I assume that a god could do. We've never actually reached the limits of our powers, have we?"
When Harry noticed the strange looks they were receiving and said to Merope, "Maybe we should talk about that later." Merope nodded in agreement.
"What powers are you talking about?" Mr. D demanded.
Harry raised an eyebrow and said slowly, "Sir, I don't know who you are, seeing as how we just met, so I'm not likely to be going and divulging all of my secrets at the start of our acquaintance, now am I?
Mr. D's face turned purple in rage as he blustered.
Percy cleared his throat and said quietly to Harry, "You might want to be a bit more respectful to him. I mean, I know he's a hard person to like, but he is still one of the gods, even if he's one of the minor ones."
Harry raised an eyebrow in interest, "A god, you say?" Looking at Mr. D. and then back at Percy, "Well, it's not as if he's wearing a name tag or anything so that folks know he's a god. He doesn't exactly have a very strong aura or anything to let anyone know."
Percy coughed, as he tried not to laugh.
Noticing Mr. D's face was steadily getting darker, "Sir, I mean no disrespect, and if you had lived the life I have, you wouldn't immediately go spilling all of your secrets to strangers you just met, god or not."
Mr. D's eyes narrowed, but the color of his face slowly returned to normal, then he spoke to Chiron and ordered, "We'll have them stay at the Hermes Cabin, until we figure out what to do with them. I don't want them left alone, though."
Chiron nodded and said, "Clarisse, you can return to your patrols." Clarisse nodded and turned to leave to continue her patrol duties.
"Percy, Annabeth," Chiron said, "I believe you should be the ones to show them the way to the Hermes Cabin, seeing as you were the ones to bring them to the camp."
"Yes, sir," Annabeth and Percy said together.
Turning to Harry and Merope, Annabeth said, "Let's go. We'll show you to the Hermes Cabin."
"Is there something significant about the Hermes Cabin?" Merope asked curiously as she walked hand-in-hand with Harry, as they followed Percy and Annabeth.
"Because Hermes is the god of travellers," Annabeth explained. "Any newcomers will first start out at the Hermes Cabin, until one of the gods claims them as their child, then they'll move into the cabin name for the god that claimed them. I'm a daughter of Athena, and Percy here is a son of Poseidon." Looking at the Potters curiously, Annabeth asked, "Do you think you'll be claimed?"
"Not sure," was all that Merope said in response.
"So what do you do here at the camp?" Harry asked curiously.
"We train to fight, to survive." Annabeth said simply.
"For some reason I feel like there's more to it than that, but I don't think we've had enough time to fully understand and appreciate the full picture just yet." Harry said with amusement.
Percy smirked and said, "It's a lot to take in at once, and we're pretty tired still from our fight in New York."
"I'm sure," Harry nodded in understanding.
Soon enough, Harry and Merope found themselves standing at the entrance of the Hermes Cabin and waving goodbye to Annabeth and Percy, who said they would meet them there in the morning to show them around the camp.
"Well, this seems to be a rather interesting new world, wouldn't you say?" asked Merope, as she and Harry walked through the doors.
Upon entering the cabin, conversations came to a stop as everyone there took in the appearance of the newcomers.
A tall, young man with brown hair and blue eyes walked up to them with a smile and said, "Welcome, I'm Connor Stoll. Are you two looking for a place to stay until you're claimed by one of the gods?"
Harry stepped forward with his hand out in greeting and said, "Well, I'm not sure we'll be claimed by any gods, but, yes, we were directed here for a place to stay. I'm Harry Potter and this is my wife, Merope."
Connor's eyes widened in surprise when Harry mentioned wife, but reached out and shook first Harry's hand and then Merope's. "Oh, well, this will be a first for us. We've never had a married couple at the camp, ever. I mean, there have been couples, but more of the boyfriend/girlfriend variety."
Harry smiled and said, "Yes, we seem to be a bit older than the campers that normally frequent the camp here."
"You don't really look all that old." Connor responded, as he eyed them both up and down in amusement.
"And looks can be deceiving, Mr. Stoll," Harry said with an amused smile.
"Oh, just call me Conner, I'm not nearly old enough to be called Mr. Stoll," Connor said with a laugh. Then he turned around and as he said, "Here, let me show you to a place where you can get set up. We're a bit crowded, as you can see."
"Yeah," Harry agreed. "I'd say that Ole Hermes has been a bit busy in the babymaking department." Merope elbowed him and whispered, "Harry! Hush that."
Connor chuckled and said, "I know it looks like it, but it's really full here because most of the kids here are still unclaimed." With a slight frown, he added, "We fought in a battle and won against the Titans not very long ago, and Percy Jackson gave up the chance to become a god in exchange for the gods to claim their children as soon as possible, instead of forcing them to wait here at Hermes Cabin until the respective god decides to claim them." Looking around at the crowd he added, "We're still for everyone to get claimed."
"Wow, that must be a rough feeling," Harry said quietly, as he looked around the cabin.
Connor shrugged and said, "It is what it is." Then he smiled and said, "Well, I hope this spot is a private enough place for you. Just keep in mind that it's impossible to give you complete privacy, so, you know, just keep it G-rated."
Harry nodded and said, "You don't have to worry about that. We've got plenty of tricks up our sleeves to ensure our own privacy." And with a wink and a wave of his hand, a curtain appeared around their sleeping area, leaving Connor to pick his jaw back off the floor after he shook himself from the shock.
"Do you think we should have just told that Chiron guy that we had a perfectly good tent that we could stay in?" Merope wondered aloud, as they got ready for bed.
"With the reception we got from Mr. D, I doubt we would have been allowed to stay in it, but perhaps we could make that suggestion tomorrow, so we don't have to take up space that could be used for the others here in the cabin," Harry said. "I wonder what god Mr. D is."
Merope yawned, as she crawled into the bed Harry conjured and allowed herself to be wrapped up in Harry's arms. "I don't care right now, I'm tired. Let's go to sleep."
"Yes, dear," Harry said, as kissed her on the forehead and fell into an exhausted sleep, too tired to even think about the fact that no one had even thought to offer them any food.
