When the rooster woke up, it was 1:00 AM in the morning. He felt a funny feeling in his tummy.
"José! I need to go potty!" he called out.
José woke up, exhausted.
"Can't you wait until morning?" he asked.
"I don't want to wet my bed!" Panchito replied. "I need to go for a wee-wee right now!"
"I can't just carry you Panchito," said José. "You're a lot taller than me!"
Panchito started to sweat. He tried to walk but it still hurt.
"Owie!" exclaimed Panchito. "My boo-boo isn't gone yet!"
"You can do it Panchito," said José. "I believe in you."
"Gracias, amigo," Panchito replied, and smiled warmly.
Panchito started limping. It was pretty painful but he kept on doing it. But he was still less than half-way to the bathroom. Then he felt a funny feeling in his bottom.
"Uh-oh!" he cried. "Now I have to poo-poo!"
"I thought you had to go number-one?" said José.
"I have to do both!" cried Panchito. "But I'm not going to give up!"
The rooster kept walking and limping. José held Panchito's hands to keep him going.
"Oooooh!" cried Panchito, sweating. "It's getting worse! I don't wanna have an accident!"
"The washroom is just around the corner, Panchito," said José. "You can do it!"
Panchito finally made it to the washroom.
"Aaaah! I can't hold it any longer!" shouted Panchito.
He went into the restroom, closed the door, stayed there for a few minutes, and came out.
"I feel much better!" said Panchito, happily. "But I still have my boo-boo!"
"Let me carry you back to bed, Panchito," the parrot replied. "You need some good sleep."
So he picked up Panchito will all his might, and carried him back to bed. Panchito was already fast asleep. José gave the exhausted rooster a kiss on the cheek.
"Goodnight Panchito," he smiled.
Then he left the room and closed the door.
