One Week Later
Barry woke up and he saw Kara sleeping beside him. He sighs as he looks at the beautiful face of the girl next to him. They had confessed their feelings last night and they both had the best experience they ever had. It has been a week since he came to her Earth and decided to stay and help her fight this war that rages on. He knows his friends and family will miss him, but he can't leave Kara to fight on her own. She needed help and he's gonna be that help.
He was brought out of his thoughts when he felt movement and looked to see Kara was waking up, "Morning Kara." he whispered she hums in greeting, "Good morning Barry." she replied as she opened her ocean blue eyes that he managed to always get lost in.
Just then Kara kissed him as she made it out of the bed, "What are you doing?" he asked as he got on his elbows and watched Kara get dressed in the suit she had on. "You remember there's a war going on right?" she asked as Barry sighs and speeds into his suit making Kara sigh in annoyance.
"You know I don't have my powers right?" she asked as she put on her suit. Barry winced, "Sorry. Kinda forgot." he replied making Kara huff out a laugh as she rolled her eyes.
Once she was ready, she made her way out of the tent to see the people were already up and attending to their morning routine, she saw Barry and motioned him to follow her as she walked across the camp and into the mess tent to eat. As soon as they had their breakfast they then made it to a table that was set up and they sat down.
"I wanna thank you, for staying. For helping me fight to get my world back." Kara told him as she ate some eggs off her fork, "It's nothing Kara. You needed my help and I am more than happy to help." he replied as he took a drink of his coffee.
Kara sighs, "Well, for what it's worth. Thank You!" she said as Barry nodded with a smile as they got back to eating their food. "A few people are gonna go out and see what they can find to bring back here. We are running low on supplies. I need you to go with them and keep them safe." she told him as Barry nodded in agreement.
After they got done eating, they made their way to the gates where a few people were waiting for whoever was gonna join the group. "Guys, this is Barry. He'll be going with you to keep you safe." she instructed as the people nodded. There were four people who were going out and one of them was an alien who could turn invisible. Kara then looked up at the look out tower, "Open the gates." she ordered as the big wooden doors opened letting the away team out. Kara grabbed Barry's arm, making him look at her before she pressed her lips against his, "Be careful." she told him and with a nod Barry was off as the gates closed behind them.
Kara then started making her way back to her tent, filled with worry and hope that Barry will come back to her. All of a sudden she felt sick and ran behind her tent and threw up her breakfast from this morning. She took a deep breath as she stood up and leaned up against the side of the tent. She's been getting sick for the past week at first she thought it from the lack of sunlight but it wasn't.
She knew the reason, she spent enough time on earth to understand what it means. But she doesn't want it to be true. She then decided that it was time for her to find out, so she made her way out from behind the tent and made her way to the supply tent. She opened the door and walked in searching the selves until she found what she was looking for. She took the box and then left the supply tent heading back to her tent.
Once she was inside she closed the door as she took the object out of the box and read the instructions. Set a timer for five minutes. So after she did what she was supposed to do, she took out a timer and timed it for five minutes. She then made her way to the computer and tracked the away team via satellite and waited.
While waiting, she started thinking that if it was true, and if she was pregnant, she didn't know what to do. It was no place and time to raise a child. What is she gonna do? The sound of an alarm going off snapped her back to reality as she felt her stomach drop just thinking about the test that was behind her. She took a deep breath to calm her nerves, maybe it's not positive.
With that thought, she walked over to the test and picked it up, she then let out a gasp as her heart dropped. It was positive. She was pregnant with Barry's child. She felt water in her eyes as she sat on the bed. What was she gonna do? How would Barry feel if he found out that she was pregnant with his child?.
Just then an explosion rocked the camp making Kara forget the test as she put down and grabbed her alien gun and ran out of the tent to see some people firing their weapons, she then realized it was CADMUS. She started shooting the soldiers, she felt a bullet pierce through her arm making her wince as she shot the agent who shot her and then continued to fight the soldiers who were fighting back.
She held up her hand as a signal to stop , once everyone had stopped shooting she had begun to approach the dead soldiers while holding the gun on one hand and the other on her wound in her arm. The resident doctor bent down and pressed his two fingers against their necks and shook his head making Kara sigh in relief.
"Repair the fence, so no more CADMUS soldiers can get through." she ordered as they got to work. She saw the fence was blown apart by the explosion as she turned and walked back into her tent.
When she returned she sat down on the bed and winced as she looked at her wound. "Only a graze." she whispered as she got the first aid kit and started tending to her wounds. After it was stitched up and wrapped she let out a sigh as she laid down to rest. She then placed a hand on her stomach, "You are a surprise." she whispered as she got up and made her way to the computer and saw the team was coming back and smiled but then her smile disappeared. How was she gonna tell Barry about the baby? She asked herself.
Hearing the gates open, she walked out of the tent and all the away team coming back, she saw one of her people being carried and her heart ached, "Oh no." she whispered as she knew who it was. It was Jenny, an alien who could turn invisible. She saw Barry and ran up to him so she could check him out. From what she could see there was a cut on his lip and his holding his left side. "Barry? Are you okay?" she asked worriedly, putting a hand on his face.
The speedster smiled, "I'm okay Kara." he said then his smile was gone, "I'm just sorry I couldn't save the invisible girl over there." he replied as Kara sighs. "Come on. Let's get you fixed up." she said grabbing his arm and taking him towards her tent to tend to her wound.
In her tent, Barry was sitting on the bed, the top half of his suit down so she could wrap his ribs. Barry saw the bandage on her arm and gently took it in his hands, "What happened to your arm?" he asked as she winced a little.
"CADMUS. They found us. Blew out the west fence, but it's taken care of. They're dead. But not before getting one in the arm. I'm okay." she informed him as she then pin the ace bandage and stood up. "You can put your suit back on." she told him as she leaned against the table watching him. Should she tell him? Is this a good time to tell him that he's gonna be a father?
She stood there fidgeting for a few minutes, "Barry, there's…...there's something I have to tell you. Something you should know." she said as the speedster looked up at her waiting for her to talk. Kara takes a deep breath, "I….I'm pregnant." she admitted.
Barry felt his heart stop at those words. Pregnant? He asked himself as he tried to learn how to breath. "B….Baby?" he whispered as she nodded in confirmation. He can see the worry in her eyes as he got up and smashed his lips against hers and felt Kara kiss him back making him smile.
He then broke the kiss for some needed air, "We're having a baby." he whispered with a smile, eyes watery.
"Y...you're not mad? I know I was unplanned and…."she started to say but then Barry interrupted her, "Why would I be mad? I'm gonna be a father." he replied as Kara smiled as well. Feeling tears in her eyes, "Yes you are." she replied. Happy that she told Barry and that he wasn't mad.
Barry then hugged her as he spinned her around earning a giggle from the alien before putting her down. "But Barry, what are we gonna do? I don't want our child to grow up in this. Having to fight." she said worried about her child having to fight in a war that started before she arrived on earth.
NOTES: This is it. Chapter two. Don't know if I'm gonna continue this story as I ran out of Ideas. Till next time!
He took Kara's face into his hands, "Hey, everything will be okay. We will figure it out. Okay?" he asked, hugging Kara in comfort as he felt Kara nod against his suit.
